Really fun place to eat. Food and staff were great. One observation is that the portions are massive so don't over order 😄

Online booking system was nice and easy. It was a very busy Saturday night and the staff where really helpful, friendly, polite and clearly enjoyed working there. Food was really nice, burgers nice and pink in the middle. Well worth ordering the Avocado side salad while you’re eating.

The family and I ate in Smith & Western for the first time and loved it. My son is 6 and loved the place. The waiters were great and attentive. The food was very good, we went for the nachos to start and the sharer platter for the main. The food is plentiful and tasty.

It looked amazing. I just really disliked the service charge because there were 8 of us. The policy on the website says tables with over ten guests. I would have given them a tip anyway.

Our first experience here and from walking in the restaurant, I knew it would be a great time. Katie was a great waiter and was very kind! Professional and the kids loved her. Would highly recommend!

Visited here today for the 4th time but our friends 1st time and we all enjoyed it. Food was great, couldn't finish it. The atmosphere was chilled as for the decor that's the other reason apart from the food why we go back.

I decided to try Westons new dish of crispy taco shell filled with chicken bacon avocado onions tomatoes on a bed of salad leaves. I picked it out in the afternoon as my hubby had printed menu off. There was nine of us folks and when my dish arrived it looked lovely ! I tucked in thinking oh not much filling l completely forgot what it was supposed to have in the shell. When l got home l re looked at the menu and realised that they hadn't,t put in bacon avocado onions l was so annoyed at myself for not realising at the time of eating ! Very bad l thought of what they put in front of me ! And as all the prices have gone up too it was a very expensive taco with chicken strips and lettuce! Everyones else's meal was ok lucky for them eh !

We came to celebrate my brother’s 21st birthday and Sophie was a brilliant host. She was very attentive, funny and just made the whole experience for us. Everyone around the table said that she was fab! Food was great value for the price. Highly recommend :)

The restaurant is really cool! For a moment I forgot I was in the UK. The service was great, everyone was really friendly. The food was delicious and they had all sorts of choices. This is definitely my new favourite place.

We came here after Goodwood Revival. Great atmosphere. The venue wasn't overly busy, roughly 5 tables when we got there at 7pm. Some staff were friendly and welcoming, some weren't so much. Can be improved.. I think some staff were more focused on cleaning up the cage area after a party, as there were 2 sometimes 3 people in there. Service was relatively slow due to this. Drinks took a little longer than expected but the food came out quite quickly. Food was nice. We liked the venue and decor. Great selection on the menus for food and drinks.

Nice place. Music was a bit intrusive at times as it was live. Staff were great as always. Happy Birthday and there use of triangles gets a little old very quickly but it was fun to see.

Very busy place lots of noise. Seems to be the place for birthdays as every five minutes staff came out with triangles banging, encouraging everyone to sing happy birthday. Service was friendly food took a little while due to the number of people in. The food was tasty. Time slots for tables, so not the place to meet friends and chat. Overall, it was a nice experience

always ok here but the service this time was very poor no frequency to the waiter checking on our table and it was quiet so no reason not to food was good but over priced really. the new layout is much better with the jailcell now where the old bar used to be.

This is a lively and fun place to eat with good service. You might get tired of hearing " happy birthday" being sung every few minutes. It was OK the first 4 times.

Food was pricey (almost £50 a head, including drinks), but very tasty - my family really enjoyed it. Service was great, no complaints there. Inside the venue was, gloomy, I know they're going for atmospheric but....a little more light would be nice. All in all a pleasant time, but pricey enough to reserve for special occasions only.

Today we went to Chichester s&w. We got there for opening and were the first ones through the door. When asking for a table the bloke asked if we had any allergies and we informed him that we have a dairy and wheat allergy at the table. He told us there were options on the menu but if we had any further questions to ask our server. Fine. We sat at the table and the music was ridiculously loud! Not normal s&w loud, unpleasantly loud that we were having to talk in raised voices to hear each other. I asked for it to be turned down which it was but that shouldn’t even be an issue. We came for lunch, not a cowboy rave! We ordered our food. One being VEGAN quesadilla. When that was bought to the table it had non vegan coleslaw on it even though the quesadilla had a vegan flag in it. How on earth is that acceptable when you are dealing with allergies?! What if we weren’t returning customers and didn’t know what the vegan coleslaw looked like? When we asked the server (who calls everyone darling repeatedly) if it was vegan she said no and seemed surprised that we were asking for vegan coleslaw as if it was a big ask because they had to make it. Another order was nachos with vegan cheese and bbq pulled pork. When I’ve had this at Chichester, Horsham and Crawley before it is pulled pork in a bbq sauce. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of what was actually on my plate but I can only describe it as a plate of nachos with what I can only imagine half a bottle of bbq sauce spread across it all sprinkled with unmelted cheese. I think even the keenest bbq sauce lover would have struggled to consume the amount that was on the plate. The flavour was so strong and overpowering I sent it back. When I said to the server why I wasn’t happy I was made to feel that I was in the wrong because that’s how they’ve always done it (false) if that’s the case they need to change because it’s utterly revolting. I’m assuming that every s&w employee at Chichester has the same training in how to speak to a customer with the most obnoxious attitude, that’s staff with the obnoxious attitude not customer! I really think you need to rethink how you deal with tables that have allergies. Not bringing them all out on the same tray or putting an allergen on the allergy free plate would be a start! Going out for a meal nowadays is a real treat. Times are hard and money is tight. I do not expect to go to spend my hard earned money on to be served food that could cause an allergic reaction or be spoken to like crap when I make the staff aware of it. Do better.

Came in for my 21st birthday dinner last night and was served by Harry who was very accommodating and made our evening enjoyable. Food was lovely and service was on point. The lady who seated us mentioned it was margarita Monday and gave us margaritas on the house so win win!!! Overall a pleasant experience and I will be returning. Big shout out to Harry!!

Wonderful, welcoming, friendly staff, who coped well with a busy Sunday lunchtime. I was disappointed that they no longer had cornbread on the menu, I had expressly gone there for chilli with cornbread.

Great afternoon spent here, the staff were all polite and patient, the food was great and atmosphere was brilliant. We were there with 15 people for my granddaughters birthday and everyone loved it

Food was okay. Liked the music, however had to wait to be seated for 20 minutes, then an extra 20 minutes for food order to be taken and then an additional hour for the food to be brought out. The birthday celebration noise was really annoying too when you’re hungry and have no communication about when your foods going to turn up. Overall wouldn’t return. Beefeater is comparable to food quality.

We stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant when we was on holiday. We had such a wonderful experience. Staff were very friendly and kind. Food was delicious. They gave my son an extra corn cob when he asked which I wasn’t expecting. Really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere was brilliant. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back.

This is an amazing place for both food and atmosphere. The staff made us feel extremely welcome, and despite it being extremely busy the service was excellent. The place is decorated with mining carts, a jail, barbershop, riding saddles, which makes the whole experience memorable. I would definitely recommend, but would advise booking a table.

Very disappointing. Booked for a birthday treat, following some lovely visits over the past couple of years. Ordered 3 meals, all steak dishes. My meal arrived, the steak, ribs and chicken were all cold, they had no temperature to them at all. The chips served with my meal and my sons were cold also. I advised a waitress, who replaced the chips within 5 minutes. My meal went back to the kitchen, and came back out hot, once my husband and son had both finished their food. I don’t expect to pay £120 for dinner out, to sit and watch my family eat their food, and then to have them watch me eat mine. It ruined the whole idea of a birthday treat. Although I would praise the staff for replacing my cold meal with a freshly cooked hot one, I do not find it at all acceptable for the meal to have been served cold in the first place. It must have been sat around for a considerable time before serving to have lost all its heat. We you pay £35+ for one meal, it would be perfectly acceptable to expect a certainly quality for that food. The Smith and Western totally failed on this occasion. I also find it unacceptable that they did not offer any form of goodwill on the bill when they handed it to me, and still charged full price for an awful experience. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Great place for a party, staff are very friendly and food was excellent ,the new layout is so much better , the only thing with the food was the barbecue sauce is a bit strong

We wanted to take our son back to this venue that we'd regularly gone to each year having great food and memories. However this was not the case when we visited in August. The food was extremely overpriced for what you received. My partners veggie burger was rubbery and seemed as if it had been defrosted in the microwave, the bread bun was stoggie even this meal tasted not right. My chicken burger was still slightly pink in the middle with a not very nice honey mustard sauce. However we ate this meal as we where so hungry from a very long drive to get to this venue. After visiting this venue I came down with a really bad case of food poisoning which made me unwell for roughly days. This was the only food I'd consumed that day. We'll definitely never visit again. So disappointed as it clearly wasn't the same quality of food we'd had in previous years. The staff where friendly but programmed. The atmosphere was definitely not the same as it had been. Very very disappointed especially after paying 17.95 per meal. What a waste of money.

Me and my family of 5 when here we got served IMMEDIATELY first asked what drinks we want then came back 5mins later from food I got the pulled pork burrito which was worth every penny!! (FOOD IS PRICEY) no complaints except more fulling and volume of food then except !! Will come back to again !! Good for special occasions like we had the meal on our last day on hoilday just before we left !! Thanks to all the staff !!

Absolutely loved going here for dinner! Harry, our server was really helpful and also helped with giving our son another mini flag (reduced the chance of a meltdown 🙈🤣). The food was excellent! Parking ensure you park in the blue spots that say Smith and Western.

We booked a table for my daughters birthday. Service was brilliant. Cannot fault that at all. I liked how you can swap out any burger for a vegan/vegetarian option. However, food was over priced and not very nice. We had 1 small nachos, 5 burgers and chips, 5 refills and a belly buster dessert. This came to £150. The food was greasy, 2 of our party couldn't eat the bread as it was too soggy. The chicken was overcooked and tough. Dessert was mostly cream. Will not return.

Long wait for food, but it was a Saturday night. Staff very friendly. Would go again. Second visit on a Saturday night, it was very quiet. Food still good.

Once again, the food was lovely, and our server was lovely and cheery, too. Not very busy for a saturday! The greeter at the door wasn't very welcoming. Saying he doesn't get paid enough to say 'yee haw'! Very grumpy and not a great start to an evening. The non alcohol beer was warm, with no frozen glasses, and a bucket of ice didn't help make the beer colder!

Fun place, many good food choices. Bit to old avocado made my whole salad taste a bit bad unfortunately.

Country & Western inspired venue, was a little lacking in customers that night. The food was good, and plentiful, although 'eyes bigger....' was proved to be true. So there was quite a lot of waste, unless you go armed with a tupperware container.

Absolutley loved it here! So much fun! The food was lovely, the staff were great. Our waitress was Courtney and she was so friendly and helpful. However all the staff were great, friendly, really bubbly too. It was also nice to be able to see the kitchen and the chefs happy and smiley too. The reasturant was fun and set up exactly like a western. Our little boy absolutley loved it too! And I recomened letting them know if its a celebration. Would come back in the future! Great way to round up our weekend away! Thank you smith and western!

Went there last night to have dinner and ate outside with my dog . Ordered ribeye steak , that arrived promptly, when I attempted to eat the salad I found it was rotten , black and slimy , it was replaced with another salad exactly the same . On the third try the salad was acceptable. It should be borne in mind that supermarkets have withdrawn some salad, due a link to stomach upsets . The steak was tough and had the appearance that it had been tenderised with a mallet. On the upside, the staff were very helpful.

Courtaney was absolutely amazing, attending to our every need with a smile. She was jokey and an overall delight which very much made our evening memorable. We have two birthdays with us this evening and we all shared the delicious desert brought out along with the famous triangle sung happy birthday. Food was great too!

A stay with light and shadow. When you arrive at the restaurant you are greeted by an enormous level of noise, it was packed, a reservation is recommended. We were then sent to the bar because our table wasn't free. We then had to wait there for over 30 minutes (what did I reserve for?). When we arrived at the table it took a long time until the order was taken. The waiting time for our food to arrive was also very long. The staff is super friendly, but unfortunately completely overwhelmed and stressed in every corner. You are processed like in a fast food restaurant, the waiters rush from table to table, spontaneous orders are impossible. It's hectic to no end. The food itself tasted very good, but the side dishes that were served with my burger were unfortunately not enough. Price-performance is just okay.

We were looking forward to eating here. Reviews seem ok. Headed there after an all day event, very hungry. Google says the close at 10, but at 7pm the doors are locked? Why? Oh, because they would prefer to close early to watch the football than serve customers food. Very professional of them.

Food here is such a treat. That's why we come here normally as a bday treat. The place looks like an old Western Tavern it's really nicely themed and staff are very attentive and friendly. Certain things are a little overpriced but it is what it is. Always enjoy popping along to this place. The Nachos are awesome! Give it a go ;)

Have been here before and never been disappointed ever .... Yesterday we just popped in for a drink whilst waiting for our train home and had fantastic service from Charlie, he was so friendly, approachable and helpful, I wasn't sure what drink my husband would prefer and he recommended Pacifico - the hubby was verrrry impressed, so thank you Charlie you are a credit to the Smith & Western. We can't wait to come back again (though did prefer the bar where it used to be 🤭)

Waited over an hour for food...if you do go I sincerely hope you don't get hair in your food like we did....oh and take a microwave oven to heat up your food. .... Rubbish don't waste your time

The Family went for a meal after an enjoyable visit to Bosham Harbour, and we really enjoyed the good food, my children loved the asthetic of the decor, with a great Western theme, with a relatively genuine feeling of an old timey saloon in some places. Our waiter did a good job of dealing with our orders, as the placed was understaffed the day we visited. The music was slightly louder then I'd like, but it was good ol' country music. Overall an enjoyable experience, with tasty food.

Standard is nowhere near what it used to be. Serving sizes and general ingredients quality have both dropped. Shame but I shan't be returning. Staff friendly though

Booked for 5 for father's day and we couldn't have had a better experience! We was seated promptly and drinks order taken before coming back soon after for food. All our food was bought out together and our waiter Katie was lovely! We paid extra for the birthday belly buster which was a great experience too! Food is pricey but it's worth every penny! We will definitely return in the future even if it is nearly a hour drive away!

Great food,great service and kind staff

The food was lovely. Catered for our party of allergy sufferers, including celiac and dairy free. It is quite dark in the restaurant with mood lighting. Decor is great and befitting the cowboy theme. It is a noisy environment. We had a wonderful dinner although it is not within everyone's budget.

For what it is it's very expensive. The food is nice but doesn't have that wow factor

Would definitely visit again, amazing food and drink selections, brilliant family atmosphere and easily accessible via Chichester train station. Had been meaning to come here a fair while but not got round to it. Visited with a friend who also had good things to say about the food. Reasonable prices, would come again.

Bit of a throwback to what TGI Fridays used to be like in the 90/00’s. If you’re looking for a theme American style family restaurant don’t hesitate. Food is classic American chain style but decent standard and the service is lively and attentive - exactly what you want from this type of place.

Fantastic Meal, really enjoyed the bbq ribs (big portion) and HUGE portion of pulled pork cheesey nachos! It had a great atmosphere and felt like you was in an American ranch! The staff was very attentive and pleasant our waiter was Will and Manager was Caroline and was very friendly! Highly recommend this Smith & Western and can’t wait to go back again 5*

I love the actual place, it's so much fun. The staff are lovely too. The food is nice enough, nothing special at all...and the prices are really eye-wateringly expensive for what you're getting. The starters are crazy prices for the portion sizes. We enjoyed ourselves but the final bill was about £25 more than it should have been based on the food that we ate

Impeccable service and outrageously good food ! Cowboy style atmosphere spreads throughout the whole restaurant and extends into the food. The decor is ver cool! Highly recommend for anyone looking to eat well, drink good beer and have fabulous time ! Shoutout to Carys & Sam for delivering flawless service !

Spent £127 on food and one of our meals was inedible, my son had a steak and it was so chewy he couldn't eat it, the restaurant didn't even give us any money off. NOT HAPPY

Very expensive for what it is. They got the drinks wrong, left food off the order and The meat was poor quality for steak at about 38 quid? and the side salad was so small I think I counted about 5 leaves 🍃 and half a tomato 🍅. They don't drink much red wine in the USA but we would drink more here if it was fairly priced. Better selection and a better quality. Overall disappointing

We went with a party of 11 people. Service was really slow and then to be told after waiting “we are just doing some smaller tables who arrived after you, then will start on your mains’ Staff really rude and sarcastic. Food was really dry as well. Would steer well clear.

Absolutely love this place! I have been there a few times for dinner and have always enjoyed the food, the decor is brilliant with little details like cactus 🌵 glasses for cocktails/mocktails and horse saddles to sit on at the bar! The country songs playing really add to the theme, great for families, for dates or even a night out with friends! Would definitely recommend 🌵👌🤠

First time visit here. The food was a bit hit and miss. Great starters, but the mains were a bit disappointing for the prices.

Fantastic place to eat, great for birthdays and parties. Large selection on the menu, and incredible food!!! Food was high quality and arrived quickly (restaurant was not full) Heavy theme of cowboys and the West / America, however this does not get in the way of eating, does not affect the enjoyment of eating. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning!! Sophie was a fantastic waitress, super helpful and friendly!
