Delicious food and wonderful staff, had a fantastic time. Kids loved it

A bad night at a harvesters with country music. Me and my gf were super pumped for this although understanding it was a chain. Anytime I see a ribs, chicken, steak combo, I get nervous. Should have trusted my gut. Women and men that work there were super nice and were very comforting. Asked us if received everything we ordered and if all was well. Can't fault the service Problem comes with the food... it was depressing. Starters - nachos were flavourless and not layered. Top was okay and then dry chips. Wings somehow buffalo but covered in bbq freezing cold Mains is where things got too much. Ribs were chewy, tough, full of gristle. The southern comfort glaze was nowhere to be seen. Had to spit on them to give them some moisture. Mrs got a burger which had a dry sad, lonely, divorced with 5 kids, living in a bin, bit of brisket. Don't worry though because you got cold gravy to pour over. Waitress came over before we had taken our first bite to ask how it was. We said all good so far of course. After realising it wasn't I went to our server and explained the situation. She was really not happy I didn't tell her when she asked. Was a weird interaction. Cocktails were good though. Waitress so kind to offer 10% off £110 bill for our troubles. TLDR: Ribs and burger horrible, harvesters with country music and a dog as a chef. Ribs steamed for 4 hours somewhere in china and microwaved in house. Starters bland, cocktails good, prices poop.

Food was spectacular waited at the bar for my friends to arrive had a very warm welcome and chat with Sam and Charlie on the bar, would definitely recommend to anyone anyone in or around Chichester looking for quality American style food. My kids also loved our server Harry, non stop laughs and quality and caring serving from him all afternoon!

I had the half rack of ribs and to honest was very filling. Nice atmosphere and very competent staff who were very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Would I go back? Yes. Just a note on parking, be careful where you park as there are designated areas for Smith & Western.

A very popular venue. The food was excellent, and the service was a little slow, but due to the volume of people, that was understandable. Will go again.

We were rather disappointed with the experience. The choice of food was limited but was okay. The fact that just about every other table was celebrating birthdays, with all the very rehearsed fanfare from the staff, became rather tedious.

Such a great place to eat, the food is always top tier, the theme of the restaurant itself is perfect, good selection of drinks and desserts. The staff are really friendly and fun, the only problem is the speed of service. It can take forever to even have your drink order taken. But don't let that stop you.

The staff are great here but the place was let down by the food! I had the cow boy feast which was very underwhelming. The salad was just plain rocket with no dressing. The Chicken was dryer than a leather boot and the steak although it was meant to be medium rare, may as well of came out mooing. The men's toilets were out of order also and everyone had to use the one disabled toilet near the entrance! Very, very overpriced too. Although a nice environment it is way too expensive.

Chloe the manager was fantastic so kind and accommodating even on an absolutely jam packed Saturday night. Very smiley and making sure everyone was happy and attended to when it was almost impossible to do so. An absolute credit to the team

We’ve had a number of great experiences in this restaurant in the past, but unfortunately that seems to be in the past. The main problem is the slow service. With over half the restaurant empty, it took over an hour and a half from first sitting down before we got our main courses. We had starters but this still felt like an exceedingly long time for a quiet restaurant. To add to this the restaurant was freezing cold, the new reduced menu mostly uninspiring and the food was unfortunately expensive for what you got. Nearly £9 for 2 potato skins for a starter, or £5 for a side Caesar salad which was 4 leaves of lettuce and some dried up bits of cheese was especially disappointing. The staff were very friendly, but the food is just not good enough to be worth the long wait times. I hope they return to form with better food and a better experience in the future because we have loved this restaurant in the past.

Lunchtime on a Saturday was very busy so recommend booking. I did that online and it was really easy to do. Greeted at the desk and taken to our table. Server was good and didn’t rush us. Good selection on menu for drinks and food. All food arrived in a timely way. It was all good except it was all just warm which didn’t blow me away which is a shame as it could have made it excellent food but it was just ok. The amazing onion ring stack was warm … disappointing. However overall a good visit

First visit to this restaurant and although a little disappointed when we arrived our waitress Sophie turned our experience into a fantastic evening. Nothing was to much trouble. What an asset she is.

Had an amazing date night, food was amazing and the service was even better! Sophie you made us feel welcome and SEEN! A little mess up with our order and you were right on top of it couldn’t ask for a better person to take care of us! We were sat at table 5 can’t wait to come back and enjoy it all over again

Used to live in America so finding something similar was great good cocktails good food good music my only tiny complaint is for the wait staff to check on tables more apart from that excellent meal out will return

we went for my granddaughters 16th birthday we had to wait about 20 minutes for our table which was upstairs. after being seated for some time we actually had to ask a waitress to take our order. when our food came out it was delicious and good sized portions. being a Saturday night it was busy it probably could have done with more staff to cope with it, i actually felt sorry for the waitress she was run off her feet but she was still having a laugh and a joke with us. all in all a good night and we will be back.

Amazing food and great cocktails. Portion sizes are generous and food is top tier. Staff are attentive and helpful. Only downside is music is slightly too loud. Would recommend for a good night out or a special occasion.

The burger was delivered very quickly, too quickly perhaps. Faster than it takes to actually cook a thick beef burger, if you know what I mean. The meat was dry and overcooked. The whole burger was soggy because there was too much pepper sauce. The venue was very loud. Prices are a bit above average, maybe too much for the value offered

Wow! This evening has been unreal, I have officially lost my Smith&Western virginity! The service the food everything was absolutely spot on. Went there for a birthday meal and definitely will be returning. Great experience and a massive shout out to Emily who served us! You did an amazing job very smiley and happy! Not a place for a quiet meal, but somewhere to let your hair down. Great service, fabulous Christmas decorations and good food.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE CON-ARTISTS FOR A CHRISTMAS WORK PARTY. They do not let you pre-order your options off of the set menu, so that on the night, it is not able to be policed to ensure staff don't pick off the set Christmas menu, and therefore you get overcharged. Service was rubbish also for a large party of 20+ guests, with some people waiting so long for their meal that others had the time to finish their meal. When raising it with head office, their response was poor. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF.

We had Carys as our server and she really went out of her way to make sure we were looked after and had everything we needed the entire night. Super friendly and chatty :) the food was also amazing, been three times and been wanting to go back after every single time. All of the staff super friendly and welcoming every time!

I was worried this would be an over priced burger joint but it was actually really good The food was lovely and we loved the atmosphere and staff ( Sam served us ) were brilliant It’s defo not the cheapest place but makes a lovely change and is well worth going to We can’t wait to return and the kids loved it

Visited here on Saturday 30th November. There was a large group of us (9) as we had relatives over from America. Lovely atmosphere with all the Christmas decorations up. Food was good and the service was great considering how busy it was. All in all a great experience.

24 of us went for birthday party the service was awful we waited 1hr before they took are order for food then waited another 1hr before we got our food then it went on and on just to say the restaurant was only 1/3 full we had to keep going up to staff asking for the next stage oh the staff were just standing around one guest ordered hot apple pie when it came out it was frozen took it back and staff just touch it and said we will get you another we declined then we got the bill and they changed us £81-00 service Charge had it taken off bill I hate to think if restaurant was full how they would cope very unhappy

Online booking system was nice and easy. It was a very busy Saturday night and the staff where really helpful, friendly, polite and clearly enjoyed working there. Food was really nice, burgers nice and pink in the middle. Well worth ordering the Avocado side salad while you’re eating.

The family and I ate in Smith & Western for the first time and loved it. My son is 6 and loved the place. The waiters were great and attentive. The food was very good, we went for the nachos to start and the sharer platter for the main. The food is plentiful and tasty.

Visited here today for the 4th time but our friends 1st time and we all enjoyed it. Food was great, couldn't finish it. The atmosphere was chilled as for the decor that's the other reason apart from the food why we go back.

I decided to try Westons new dish of crispy taco shell filled with chicken bacon avocado onions tomatoes on a bed of salad leaves. I picked it out in the afternoon as my hubby had printed menu off. There was nine of us folks and when my dish arrived it looked lovely ! I tucked in thinking oh not much filling l completely forgot what it was supposed to have in the shell. When l got home l re looked at the menu and realised that they hadn't,t put in bacon avocado onions l was so annoyed at myself for not realising at the time of eating ! Very bad l thought of what they put in front of me ! And as all the prices have gone up too it was a very expensive taco with chicken strips and lettuce! Everyones else's meal was ok lucky for them eh !

We came to celebrate my brother’s 21st birthday and Sophie was a brilliant host. She was very attentive, funny and just made the whole experience for us. Everyone around the table said that she was fab! Food was great value for the price. Highly recommend :)

The restaurant is really cool! For a moment I forgot I was in the UK. The service was great, everyone was really friendly. The food was delicious and they had all sorts of choices. This is definitely my new favourite place.

We came here after Goodwood Revival. Great atmosphere. The venue wasn't overly busy, roughly 5 tables when we got there at 7pm. Some staff were friendly and welcoming, some weren't so much. Can be improved.. I think some staff were more focused on cleaning up the cage area after a party, as there were 2 sometimes 3 people in there. Service was relatively slow due to this. Drinks took a little longer than expected but the food came out quite quickly. Food was nice. We liked the venue and decor. Great selection on the menus for food and drinks.

Nice place. Music was a bit intrusive at times as it was live. Staff were great as always. Happy Birthday and there use of triangles gets a little old very quickly but it was fun to see.

Very busy place lots of noise. Seems to be the place for birthdays as every five minutes staff came out with triangles banging, encouraging everyone to sing happy birthday. Service was friendly food took a little while due to the number of people in. The food was tasty. Time slots for tables, so not the place to meet friends and chat. Overall, it was a nice experience

always ok here but the service this time was very poor no frequency to the waiter checking on our table and it was quiet so no reason not to food was good but over priced really. the new layout is much better with the jailcell now where the old bar used to be.

This is a lively and fun place to eat with good service. You might get tired of hearing " happy birthday" being sung every few minutes. It was OK the first 4 times.

Food was pricey (almost £50 a head, including drinks), but very tasty - my family really enjoyed it. Service was great, no complaints there. Inside the venue was, gloomy, I know they're going for atmospheric but....a little more light would be nice. All in all a pleasant time, but pricey enough to reserve for special occasions only.

Today we went to Chichester s&w. We got there for opening and were the first ones through the door. When asking for a table the bloke asked if we had any allergies and we informed him that we have a dairy and wheat allergy at the table. He told us there were options on the menu but if we had any further questions to ask our server. Fine. We sat at the table and the music was ridiculously loud! Not normal s&w loud, unpleasantly loud that we were having to talk in raised voices to hear each other. I asked for it to be turned down which it was but that shouldn’t even be an issue. We came for lunch, not a cowboy rave! We ordered our food. One being VEGAN quesadilla. When that was bought to the table it had non vegan coleslaw on it even though the quesadilla had a vegan flag in it. How on earth is that acceptable when you are dealing with allergies?! What if we weren’t returning customers and didn’t know what the vegan coleslaw looked like? When we asked the server (who calls everyone darling repeatedly) if it was vegan she said no and seemed surprised that we were asking for vegan coleslaw as if it was a big ask because they had to make it. Another order was nachos with vegan cheese and bbq pulled pork. When I’ve had this at Chichester, Horsham and Crawley before it is pulled pork in a bbq sauce. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of what was actually on my plate but I can only describe it as a plate of nachos with what I can only imagine half a bottle of bbq sauce spread across it all sprinkled with unmelted cheese. I think even the keenest bbq sauce lover would have struggled to consume the amount that was on the plate. The flavour was so strong and overpowering I sent it back. When I said to the server why I wasn’t happy I was made to feel that I was in the wrong because that’s how they’ve always done it (false) if that’s the case they need to change because it’s utterly revolting. I’m assuming that every s&w employee at Chichester has the same training in how to speak to a customer with the most obnoxious attitude, that’s staff with the obnoxious attitude not customer! I really think you need to rethink how you deal with tables that have allergies. Not bringing them all out on the same tray or putting an allergen on the allergy free plate would be a start! Going out for a meal nowadays is a real treat. Times are hard and money is tight. I do not expect to go to spend my hard earned money on to be served food that could cause an allergic reaction or be spoken to like crap when I make the staff aware of it. Do better.

Came in for my 21st birthday dinner last night and was served by Harry who was very accommodating and made our evening enjoyable. Food was lovely and service was on point. The lady who seated us mentioned it was margarita Monday and gave us margaritas on the house so win win!!! Overall a pleasant experience and I will be returning. Big shout out to Harry!!

Wonderful, welcoming, friendly staff, who coped well with a busy Sunday lunchtime. I was disappointed that they no longer had cornbread on the menu, I had expressly gone there for chilli with cornbread.

Great afternoon spent here, the staff were all polite and patient, the food was great and atmosphere was brilliant. We were there with 15 people for my granddaughters birthday and everyone loved it

Food was okay. Liked the music, however had to wait to be seated for 20 minutes, then an extra 20 minutes for food order to be taken and then an additional hour for the food to be brought out. The birthday celebration noise was really annoying too when you’re hungry and have no communication about when your foods going to turn up. Overall wouldn’t return. Beefeater is comparable to food quality.

We stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant when we was on holiday. We had such a wonderful experience. Staff were very friendly and kind. Food was delicious. They gave my son an extra corn cob when he asked which I wasn’t expecting. Really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere was brilliant. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back.

This is an amazing place for both food and atmosphere. The staff made us feel extremely welcome, and despite it being extremely busy the service was excellent. The place is decorated with mining carts, a jail, barbershop, riding saddles, which makes the whole experience memorable. I would definitely recommend, but would advise booking a table.

Very disappointing. Booked for a birthday treat, following some lovely visits over the past couple of years. Ordered 3 meals, all steak dishes. My meal arrived, the steak, ribs and chicken were all cold, they had no temperature to them at all. The chips served with my meal and my sons were cold also. I advised a waitress, who replaced the chips within 5 minutes. My meal went back to the kitchen, and came back out hot, once my husband and son had both finished their food. I don’t expect to pay £120 for dinner out, to sit and watch my family eat their food, and then to have them watch me eat mine. It ruined the whole idea of a birthday treat. Although I would praise the staff for replacing my cold meal with a freshly cooked hot one, I do not find it at all acceptable for the meal to have been served cold in the first place. It must have been sat around for a considerable time before serving to have lost all its heat. We you pay £35+ for one meal, it would be perfectly acceptable to expect a certainly quality for that food. The Smith and Western totally failed on this occasion. I also find it unacceptable that they did not offer any form of goodwill on the bill when they handed it to me, and still charged full price for an awful experience. I would not recommend this restaurant.

We wanted to take our son back to this venue that we'd regularly gone to each year having great food and memories. However this was not the case when we visited in August. The food was extremely overpriced for what you received. My partners veggie burger was rubbery and seemed as if it had been defrosted in the microwave, the bread bun was stoggie even this meal tasted not right. My chicken burger was still slightly pink in the middle with a not very nice honey mustard sauce. However we ate this meal as we where so hungry from a very long drive to get to this venue. After visiting this venue I came down with a really bad case of food poisoning which made me unwell for roughly days. This was the only food I'd consumed that day. We'll definitely never visit again. So disappointed as it clearly wasn't the same quality of food we'd had in previous years. The staff where friendly but programmed. The atmosphere was definitely not the same as it had been. Very very disappointed especially after paying 17.95 per meal. What a waste of money.

Me and my family of 5 when here we got served IMMEDIATELY first asked what drinks we want then came back 5mins later from food I got the pulled pork burrito which was worth every penny!! (FOOD IS PRICEY) no complaints except more fulling and volume of food then except !! Will come back to again !! Good for special occasions like we had the meal on our last day on hoilday just before we left !! Thanks to all the staff !!

Absolutely loved going here for dinner! Harry, our server was really helpful and also helped with giving our son another mini flag (reduced the chance of a meltdown 🙈🤣). The food was excellent! Parking ensure you park in the blue spots that say Smith and Western.

We booked a table for my daughters birthday. Service was brilliant. Cannot fault that at all. I liked how you can swap out any burger for a vegan/vegetarian option. However, food was over priced and not very nice. We had 1 small nachos, 5 burgers and chips, 5 refills and a belly buster dessert. This came to £150. The food was greasy, 2 of our party couldn't eat the bread as it was too soggy. The chicken was overcooked and tough. Dessert was mostly cream. Will not return.

Long wait for food, but it was a Saturday night. Staff very friendly. Would go again. Second visit on a Saturday night, it was very quiet. Food still good.

Once again, the food was lovely, and our server was lovely and cheery, too. Not very busy for a saturday! The greeter at the door wasn't very welcoming. Saying he doesn't get paid enough to say 'yee haw'! Very grumpy and not a great start to an evening. The non alcohol beer was warm, with no frozen glasses, and a bucket of ice didn't help make the beer colder!

Country & Western inspired venue, was a little lacking in customers that night. The food was good, and plentiful, although 'eyes bigger....' was proved to be true. So there was quite a lot of waste, unless you go armed with a tupperware container.
