Busaba Eathai - Covent Garden in City of London, Westminster

Came here for a post class lunch. I had the Black Pepper Beef which was really tasty but the portion could maybe have been a bit bigger. Would come again.

I would like to start with the fact that I love Busaba for more than 4 years. Since we have discovered it we have probably been more than 60 times in different locations and talked about it very highly to our friends and family. Last night was a complete disaster and utterly disappointed with the experience. I have requested for the Black pepper beef noodles to be done with rice noodles instead of the egg noodles as a preference and stated it is not an allergy. The staff then informed me that is not possible to which I have added that it has always been done for us in different locations and it is tasting so much better. They have refused to do so and didn’t give a plausible answer why it would not be possible to accommodate my request while the staff were very cold and unpleasant( is rice noodles more expensive than the egg ones??). As expected the egg noodles were in fact just spaghetti and too much oil added in the dish. The restaurant look is tired with stained walls , chipped furnitured and women’s bathroom is not what you would expect in such a central location. Second stall door on the right doesn’t even close fully. It is fair to say the Stratford, Oxford circus and shephard’s bush locations are far better and will stick with those from now on considering that the prices over the past 2 years went up a lot, a better service would be expected. Portions sizes for starters compared to the price is just not good as 5 small pieces of dry calamari is rounding up to almost £10. For a meal that was not as expected and overall bad experience we have paid £63 including the service charge that out of respect to hospitality industry I couldn’t ask to be removed. Hope the management will take into consideration my review and make a few improvements as people are not stupid and they can tell when quality is no longer provided and will find other restaurants to dine at.

I was very disappointed!!! I went to Busaba at 9.22pm on a Wednesday to then been turned away as they said they said they were closing. It clearly says on the website, times to the restaurant is open until 10pm. Even if the kitchen closes at 9.30, we were still there before this time and should have been served.

Really nice environment and reasonable pricing for food. The lunch deal was really good!

I have been there for Farewell dinner with my students. Staff very friendly and helpful, service was great and fast enough. Even with a little last minute changes from our side all was handled well and apologise for little confusion. Thank you for making the night great. Definitely, I will be returning.

The service is good and welcoming. The armosphere is nice. However, it is not a Thai food at all. I and my friends are so disappointed. Tom Yam Goong tasted like tomato soup. The pork with the rice was tasteless. There are no crushed chilli for Pad Thai. If you sell food that just look like Thai food, but the taste is totally different. Could you please change the word Thai Dining to other words? Please don't claim that your restaurant is Thai restuarant.

Chicken Thai green curry was rubbish. Tofu pad Thai was lovely.

In the last 3 years that we have dined in Busaba their star dish, calamari with pepper corns, has become soggier. It used to be an amazing dish. This time we found it flavoursome but soggy. The chicken green curry was nearly fluorescent green, not akin the usual green curry. Also, the vegetables in the curry were overcooked. The Piña colada mocktail was delicious though. Finally, I would like to comment that although the waiter was super nice and friendly, he clearly did not have any training in table service. Despite having space all around the table he would pass the dishes across for us to place them and after the dinner he would ask us to pass him all the dishes across again! He would not collect dishes from person to person. Terrible table manners! Waiting staff should be trained! One last point, the bill came with an added 10% gratuity for the waiting staff, which supposedly is an option, but it was already added to the total and honestly it is very deceiving to do this. It makes one feel forced to give this gratuity even though one may feel like not giving it out.

Flavors absolutely on point...Great veg options...we did not have any way reservations yet they accommodated us on a busy evening....highly recommend it!

I was there for dinner with the family. The meal was excellent. The Nam Tok Beef Salad was an excellent taste experience. The Classic Pad Thai was also very tasty. The desserts were amazing. Strawberries & Cream, a strawberry ice cream dessert like I never knew before. 🤤 The pandan pancakes were also amazing. Emre, the waiter, was very friendly and helpful and rounded off the entire dinner with his great service.

Ich war mit der Familie zum Abendessen dort. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Der Nam Tok Beef Salad war ein hervorragendes Geschmackserlebnis. Das Classic Pad Thai war ebenfalls sehr lecker. Die Desserts waren eine Wucht. Strawberries & Cream, ein Erdbeere-Eis Dessert wie ich es noch nicht kannte. 🤤 Die Pandan Pancakes waren ebenfalls der Hammer. Emre, der Kellner, war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat das gesamte Abendessen mit seinem tollen Service abgerundet.

Chairs are filthy with stains. Green curry chicken was more like green-dyed soup with 4 pieces of chicken. Half the things on menu were "not available". Didn't even serve Thai ice-tea, nor Lime Soda. "Grilled chicken" didn't taste like grilled at all. Sticky rice and Jasmin rice served lukewarm.

After a long day, a delicious dinner at Busaba was a perfect ending! We were served by Shoxrux who was lovely, helpful and the service was impeccable! The food arrived promptly and was absolutely sublime - worth every penny I spent! I totally recommend.

We visited Busaba on the 20th of July. We are both vegetarian. We have ordered vegetarian options from the menu (Jay Pad Thai and Sriracha Ho Fun Noodles). When the meals arrived, the Pad Thai had shrimps on it. We explained that my friend is strictly vegetarian, and removing the large shrimps is not enough (I believe the kitchen must have accidentally prepared Classic Pad Thai instead of Jay). The waiter reassured us that they will prepare a brand new vegetarian version of the dish for her, as ordered. When the dish arrived and she was in the process of eating, she noticed >10 small pieces of dry shrimp in her pad thai... Which means she was likely given the same non-vegetarian dish, just with the large shrimps removed. We spoke to both the waiter and the floor manager, and none of the two offered us an apology that this situation deserved. It is quite shocking that a restaurant serves food with shrimp in it, despite being told (twice) that the person is vegetarian... Therefore, if you are vegetarian - I would definitely not recommend visiting Busaba Covent Garden.

We have been before and really enjoyed it. This time it wasn t good. The food wasn t fresh or flavoursome..the edemame were microwaved and the chef atm is not thai. Pity..

I’ve been dining at Busaba Covent Garden for a little over 2 years now and usually come to the restaurant on my lunch breaks from work. Upon entry to the restaurant I’ve always been greeted warmly and promptly by staff members and seated comfortably at available tables. The menu is extensive and my favourite food to order ranges from Matchstick Chicken starter, Ebi Prawn starter, Satay chicken starter, prawn crackers with dip starter and then the mains I usually order are Chilli Beef with egg fried rice, Black Pepper Beef, Ginger Beef, Mussaman Lamb Shank. I usually also order a nice Italian Pinot Grigio large glass of wine. Overall eating experience and quality of food has been amazing - mouth watering, flavoursome and filling. There is something for everybody to order from the menu. A personal thank you to Mary, who has been my server for much of the time I’ve been dining here and is very friendly and pleasant to converse with. Mary’s attention to my order, delivery to table and after care on meal satisfaction is 10/10. A Big thank you to Busaba Covent Garden.

mediocre food and in attentive service. green curry ok but doesn't come with rice and rice side was small, chicken salad had a near cremated chicken katsu on top that tasted of carbon and grease, ordered the salad with peanuts on the side, they were not, since when was red cabbage a Thai veg? service poor, had to run around restaurant to get attention, starters served with mains.. there must be many better covent garden restaurants. avoid.

The food is not great, both the quantity and the quality was bad. The chicken was ok. The egg fried rice had way too much oil. The service from the staff was quite unpleasant and the wifi doesn’t work. Not worth it for the price

Busaba is one of the underrated restaurants in london. The food is exceptionally delicious and service is of top tier. The ambience was really good and the overall hygiene of the restaurant was spot on. I went there with my mates and miss Sangsita provided us with very tremendous hospitality.

Visited busaba covent garden yesterday and was left disappointed food took way too long to arrive and once it did it was not great plus not warm (cold). The staff and manager tried their best with service and apologies but expect much better from a brand like busaba

I had a terrible experience and highly disappointed. We had a dinner on Sunday evening. Service & manager was good and tried to make up by giving discount. The food took ages to come and it was cold when served, coincidentally people next to our table had similar issues I don’t know even when the restaurant wasn’t busy. Only good thing is the flow staff.

Tucked away beside the Opera House. Unfortunately music is piped out. Ordered a very tasty mocktail though it was missing ginger. To eat I ordered jasmine rice but sticky rice arrived. Satay chicken skewers and calamari, their special recipe. All the food was barely warm, let alone hot. The calamari was so tough I had to pull it apart using my teeth and hands. However everything was very well seasoned. Just a shame it tasted as though it was cooked half an hour earlier.

Great- tasting food , but could’ve given a 5 stars if it weren’t for the customer service, needs some improvement. Not a busy afternoon, it seems there was nobody checking on us, until we were ready for the bill. We have to wait longer for our food to be served. Waitress was starting at us and was mumbling when my 80yr old mom , went to use the disabled toilet, rather than go up down set of stairs to the regular toilets. Love the food, not the service!

Today me and my friend went into this fine restaurant to eat, after we was recommended it by someone. Once arriving I met and was served by a very friendly and polite Waiter called Ayesha. She was really nice and helpful. She helped us be seated and never failed to surprise us with fantastic service. While the other waiters totally ignored us she was there ready to help. I always come to Busaba for the calamari and it never disappoints! We felt welcomed and the service was amazing. Ayesha was very attentive and always checked if everything was fine or if we needed anything else. Very positive experience especially because of our server!!

Stumbled across this restaurant on TikTok and came to give it a go with my friends. Had a little trouble with the menu but with the help from our server Ayesha, we ordered the classic pad Thai with spring rolls and the Thai calamari. The service from our waitress was amazing as well as the food and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Waitress Ayesha greeted me and made me feel very welcome. I asked where the toilet is and she helped me find the restroom even when she was busy. This was very kind of her and then later helped me with what to choose on the menu. I hope I’m greeted by this lady in the near future

Overpriced and poor quality. We spent 133£ for an average dinner!!!! We ordered the share platter menu and they didn’t had the fried chicken so instead they gave us an extra portion of chicken satay (but only one sauce, instead of two). We ordered two mango aperol (half glass with too much ice). The beef curry was very watery and very sugary tasting. The pad Thai was average and nothing too special. The only nice thing was the papaya salad (a very small plate). Poor customer service and we had to call them for napkins, and to change the plates three times. No one noticed that we were eating in the same plate two different dishes and no one offered us clean napkins after they took out dirty ones away!
