I don't usually take notice of 1 star reviews as it is usually from someone who has a grudge but I can't give this review anything more. We have been coming to Beefeater Kingswood (and when it was different breweries) for the past 20 years and are regular customers, visiting at least monthly for a meal. We booked a table tonight and arrived at the time booked. When we arrived, the man who greeted us, apologised as our table wasn't ready and asked if we could wait in the bar. This wasn't a problem - we ordered drinks and he cleaned and set up the table quickly. We sat at the table and waited 10 minutes. The server then came to us and asked if we were ready to order. As we hadn't been offered a menu we pointed this out and they eventually were passed to us - another five minutes. At this point, we weren't asked if there were any people with any allergies. My son has a severe nut allergy - fortunately he usually orders the same thing and knows what is safe but this shouldn't be left to chance and should be checked We ordered our meals asking for some slight modifications - things that we had asked for before on previous visits. After 45 minutes of waiting, I finally caught the attention of a waitress and asked how much longer the meals would take and if we could order some more drinks. She went to check the screen and told us it wouldn't be long. Then another server (the one who took our order) asked again for what drinks we wanted. Five minutes later, the food finally arrived. My wife asked for her side salad without sweetcorn when she ordered and this came with an abundance of sweetcorn. Unfortunately, sweetcorn is something that can cause allergies so this should have been treated much more carefully. I had ordered fish and chips. The batter for the fish was almost white and very undercooked. At this point, we said we were cancelling the order and would pay for our drinks. My children, by this point, were absolutely famished and very annoyed that they would have to wait further to have a meal at home. It took another five minutes for them to come so that we could pay for the drinks - a minor thing but we were charged for the drinks that we hadn't even touched which we were going to have with our meal. We usually have a great experience at this pub but tonight really has put us off. It wasn't overly busy with it being a Thursday evening, we hadn't ordered anything too difficult (without sauce on a burger etc) and it took nearly an hour to come, when it did come it was inedible and then we were charged for drinks we had to leave. A family of five with a baby and we felt extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, we won't be going again for an evening meal. Such a shame after 20 years of our custom.

Just been for breakfast with the family. Good choice of food and all you can eat. It was busy but we never had to wait for anything.

Food was spot on, But the staff seemed to have a ' Fed up don't really want to be here' attitude. Real shame really

The staff are always excellent, but I feel sorry for them as the food is usually poor and clearly frozen/reheated. The company needs to focus on the quality of the food and this could be a great venue.

I could have given a 5 if there was an option for some Hot Chocolate...but basically was a good place. Very nice and warm staff members. Plenty of everything. Enjoyed the breakfast.

We came last week ordered a pint of Stella and a Mokka, we stayed for three drinks and the same lady served us every time. We visited today and ordered the same drinks a pint of Stella and a Mokka only to be greeted with, we don't do Mokkas never have, there isn't a button for it on the till. How can one member of staff be so accommodating and others not After all a Mokka is only a coffee with a spoon of Chocolate powder in it (they do serve hot chocolate). It's not rocket science is it.

Absolutely shocking and unprofessional from the guy who checks you in for breakfast. Will not be going there again.

Always enjoyed coming here but tonight the attitude of the manageress will make me think again so rude even the staff was glad to see the back of her even apologised for her needs some person skills training

Visited for dinner tonight and used 25% blue light discount and can honestly say even with the discount we won’t be back. The service was fine as was the pub itself but the food was terrible, some of the lowest quality pub grub I have ever eaten. I had the fish & chips. THe triple cooked chips were just average frozen chips, the fish was very thin and had skin on so wasn’t much fish after that was removed, the peas were a dry crusty clump so had them replaced with garden peas that were just as bad, unseasoned poor quality peas. My partner had the chicken & ribs combo which wasn’t as bad but was very basic and not very warm. There are many local pubs with much better quality food so we won’t be back I’m afraid.

Visited last minute tonight, after work. Food was amazing, all staff where friendly and Natalie our server was lovely. Thank You.

I came here with my daughter and grandchildren. I was served by Gemma, who was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the fish and chips, it was lovely. The place was busy however Gemma kept checking on us and it was great service. Will come again

Just what you'd expect. The staff were polite and friendly. They did not rush us. The price of the food was as I would expect and it tasted great. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.

I didn't expect this! Jessica who looked after us was fantastic. Despite being busy she never missed a cue. The food was excellent & the children were well catered for. I am so impressed will be back in November for breakfast & evening meal with the family. Already booked.

we regularly come here for drinks and eat here at least once a week. food is always fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. service is pretty fast even when the restaurant is really busy. weve always found the staff to be friendly and made us feel welcome. it's our first choice for a celebration meal or when we feel too lazy to cook 😁

Food OK. Served by 3 different, equally incompetent and uninterested waitresses. None had menu knowledge. Bill arrived with next tables drinks on top of ours. When I explained to the waitress how frustrated we had been with the service and that she needed to sort the bill out, she rambled on how she was new and we had no right to be frustrated with her (as paying customers we most certainly do). Manageress came and sorted the bill finally with the same disinterest as shown by her waiting staff. Very disappointing experience.

We walked in without a reservation for breakfast, we were treated with a warm welcome and seated without issue, the breakfast was excellent value for money, £10.99 for full breakfast menu including drinks, the friend I was with had a full second plate full, I don't know if it's all you can eat but there's certainly no problem with getting your fill, the quality of the food is excellent and the coffee was just as good, I can highly recommend the Kingswood beefeater for anyone who appreciates a good breakfast.

I recently had a family meal at the Beefeater and the food was lovely. Staff were attentive but not overbearing.

To be honest, I've never liked this chain of restaurants, but due to a voucher I was sent, we gave it a go. Went on a Sunday evening, pre-booked, it was quite busy in all areas. The staff were polite and friendly (we arrived early and table wasn't ready) and we had a decent table in the pub. A decent choice of food on the menus , but no sign of the Sunday one that was mentioned on the website. Strangely the downloaded menus were different to the ones actually in the pub. However, our choices were available and although not the biggest, were just about right. Steak cooked correctly, decent bit of meat, gammon however was a bit fatty, but generally nice. Bit of a pain to have to go to the bar to get "refillables" but the bar staff were quick to serve. With the discount, the meal was good value. The pub was a pleasant place to visit and plenty of space in the car park.

Go most Saturdays for breakfast. For me and my 2 children it’s £9.99 for all three of us for an unlimited breakfast. Food is very good and there is a large selection of different things too choose from the cooked breakfast has everything you want. I would recommend booking if you are going especially on a weekend as it’s very busy.

First time we came here we loved it it was lovely but tonight just wasn’t going right the foods alright wouldn’t say x2 mix grills is worth £40 Like but it is what it is , Kids meal is supposed to be 3 course starter main drink I got charged for the drink along side meal :/ …the cocktails was sooo bad first too was missing ingredients the next 2 was even worse couldn’t drink lady said she’d replace but with only the same drinks so again they tasted awful too Wich she said oh it may be because we used clementine instead of orange :/ so I wasn’t Guna order any other drink to waste more money and that was billed at £101:90 in the end so no not worth it it’s joined on too premier inn so it’s Litrelly just work guys with laptop vibes not somewhere you’de go for celebration meal very unlikely I’ll go again but will say the staff are helpful I wouldn’t fault them.

My son and I visited The Beefeater today for lunch. We had the fish and chips, and I have to say that it was one of the worst meals I have ever had. The batter was soggy, and the fish looked and tasted like it had been taken straight from the freezer and warmed up in the microwave. The portions were small and not very hot, and for almost £15 per meal, I expected much better. Needless to say that we won't be going back

We stay at Premier Inn and had the breakfast at beefeater and it awful it was cold coffee was cold not worth 10.99

Staff friendly..there was 4 of us .. food i thought was pricey for what you got chips burger but it was all presented nice . It did taste lovely and filling.. I got planted based burger it had bbq sauce on( which it shouldn’t had.. I didn’t ask for it) bbq sauce comes on burgers and chicken burgers.i didn’t eat it .. . yes I questioned it .. but there’s always an answer.. the rest of the party would definitely eat there.. me I wouldn’t .. the food we ate was on offer 12-5 after that it was £15 plus.. which I feel isn’t worth it..

Picture: £15.99 burger with chips. Not worth it! Ordered the potato dippers with no BBQ sauce. Paid £1.50 for a change to mayo. Got the potato dippers with BBQ sauce. Had to ask staff to take the mayo off the bill. The potato dippers were just soggy cheesy chips which felt microwaved with spring onions on top. For the price I would have expected potato skins with a choice of dip. All starters came with BBQ sauce and you had to pay to swap it for another sauce, even just mayo. 10 minutes later the dessert arrived for one of our party before the mains had even arrived. Mains took quite some time to arrive. I had finished my drink well before they came. Ordered the double burger with no BBQ sauce. Burger was nice, chips were okay, coleslaw was a very small amount and was clearly a very cheap type, as it wasn't very nice at all. Significantly overpriced for what was received. Had to ask for cutlery as none was provided after the starter. Cutlery was dumped in the middle of the table a minute later. Nobody checked on us to see if the food was okay. Asked for dessert menus but were provided with only one to share. Decided against dessert except one who had already ordered theirs. Staff were generally okay, somewhat disinterested, and did seem to be thin on the ground. Megan was an exception, nothing was too much trouble. We were waiting a little longer than I would have expected for food and table clearing. Other staff were behind the bar area near the kitchen doors on their phones, texting often throughout our visit. Seating was fine. Toilets smelled of bleached urine and screws were sticking out of walls. Definitely won't return.

Got better, food much better wider variety than there used to be. Service has got better aswell, just a shame the food doesn't come out like the pictures they have on display.

Rosie was our server and please may say was the best and most hard working girl on shift. The restaurant itself is very run down doesn't look very welcoming entering the building then when inside looks like it needs upgrading. Other than this the food was amazing and once again service was great thank u rosie

Food ok as usual, disappointed that you can't get latte, as they've changed the machine, that's my only gripe

Toilets stank! Carpets in loos is not a wise idea! Brought out the main whilst still eating the starter then got visibly frustrated trying to hand me the dinner plates because I was juggling dirty plates they hadn't cleared to make room. Table service only but didn't check on us for sauce and if the food was ok. Didn't come to offer to get more drinks or the bill either. Nothing special food wise. Was cooked fine but not the best value for money.

The steak was overcooked, the food took almost 45 minutes to get to us, people that arrived way after us got their food first! The young girl serving us could have at least faked a smile, she brought the dessert menus, put them on the table and walked away before I could say thank you. There was no atmosphere at all in the restaurant and it wasn’t professional watching our server with her back to customers flirting with one of the men behind the bar.

Friendly staff, decent pub chain food, easy service and good value for money. Can’t say more than that! (Oh it was also clean and seemed suitable for young, old, and families).

Got the beefeater double stack meal was shocked by the size the portion of fries was tiny a small side of coleslaw for £15.99 I was expecting more fries and maybe a side salad the kids got the £8.99 curry meal which was 3 times the size of our meal the burger was gawjus just the portions for the price should surely be bigger than the £8.99 meals.

We have eaten here on several occasions and never have a complaint about the food. We all had a burger on our last visited and said it's the best burger we've had in a while. I've marked down a star on service based on the fact we had to flag down waitresses that were not actually serving our table multiple times for drinks etc. Only dropped one star though as it was never a problem for them to assist. Otherwise we all very much enjoyed it.

Went for my birthday walked in lots of tables available. staff was so not very helpful I found her rude she basically told us can eat at bar side but she won't be serving us We a Found table that seated 5 off us table was very dirty we cleared all glasses off it and food someone said they would come and clean it nobody turned up so we left and went to Toby carvery where staff was lovely very helpful and food was amazing.

Was expecting nice large burgers, but the sizes and portions they give do fill you up. Freshly made and good flavours. Sports bar there as well. Just enjoyed the atmosphere there and the flavours of the food.

Always friendly staff working, the food quality is always great and they know how to cook a good steak. Go here for a few drinks occasionally, it's not the cheapest place but the food quality is almost always excellent and whenever we have had issues during a visit they are quick to sort it

Normally it's very good but sadly this time had to eat at the bar section. Next time if I go again I will go elsewhere if the main dining area is unavailable

The food is pretty good for the price you pay. I would recommend based on just food alone. My issue with The Kingswood Beefeater is the service. We were taken to our table but then left for around half an hour, a member of our party had to go to the bar to inform them we were ready to order. When they did come to our table the service was good, it was just a shame we had to ask for someone to come to us when it wasn't particularly busy. This wasn't a one off either, of the past 4/5 times I've been the service has been to an expected standard only once. I'm not expecting fine dining levels of service but to be left for so long repeatedly when it's a table service venue is crazy for me. I've started going to the bar for drinks orders now, but even that is painfully slow and unorganised.

Out with The Ladies that Lunch. We all enjoyed our food, drinks, and the staff were most helpful to our 2 disabled Ladies. And us very comfortable and welcomed.

Visited with my Daughter... We shared he starter option's. We had the nachos. No flavour, no sour cream, salsa was chopped tomatoes, cheese had no flavour, very poor in my opinion. Dry.... Loaded skin fries mediocre..again tasted like the same cheese and no flavour. Chicken strips and Wings, tasty and hot. I know this can't be a one off as visited in February shared the same dishes with my partner and was the same then.

We wanted to dine here with a group of 5 people. As it was a late arrival at about 9:30-9:45 pm we called to check availability of the kitchen and were told to call again after 8 pm; hence we called after 8 pm and were told it's no problem as the kitchen closes at 10 pm tonight. As we showed up we were told the kitchen has been closed since 9 pm. I wonder why that information has not been made available to us when we called. 40 minutes detour for this ...

We went as a party of 4 for a birthday lunch. Service was good 👍. The staff was very efficient, and the food was the usual chain pub grub. All very good. There is plenty of free parking . All in all, it's worth visiting again .

Brilliant overall. We will definitely be returning. We booked online for a large table of 14. My son has a severe peanut allergy so this always makes booking somewhere to eat a bit of a worrying task. After checking the allergen info online I felt confident that he could be catered for. Upon arrival, without even mentioning his allergy we were asked if anyone in the group had an allergy. They provided us with a full copy of the information and let us double check labels of ingredients to make sure we were happy. We were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely, the atmosphere was vibrant and everyone was made to feel comfortable and we will definitely be visiting again.

I went for a late mother's day lunch with my two daughters. The food was delicious and very well presented. We all had a pudding and although we were full from our first course we ate every bit. I will definitely going back.

Booked a table for mother's day meal for 3 at 5PM. Arrived at 4:50pm Got seated after a short wait, waited 15 mins before a drinks order was taken then came back a short while later and we ordered 3 courses from the set menu and the kids set menu. We then waited over half hour for starter, nearly 1 hour for mains and then another half hour 40 mins for the pudding. It was just before the Puddings arrived we managed to get a second round of drinks. For a meal from a set menu just over 3 hours is a long time to be in a restaurant. The lamb dinner and kids food was lovely but the stake was over cooked and extremely fatty and the chips where really over done. Would not recommend if you have somewhere to be after, but if you have all the time in the world this is the place for you. This was a book a table night so they knew how many people were going to be in and at what times so service should not have been this poor. Very disappointed

Food was good, but having to pay a snook on service charge is not, at least request if the patron would like to pay this or not surely?

We had the 2 course which was ok but the breaded mushrooms was like rubber,was well overdone!!!

I was so disappointed during my 5 day stay, I had the meal plan booked with my room, when I arrived the restaurant closed at 8.30 and I was unable to get food, the website states 10pm, I spoke to the manager who advise me Whitbread had decided that during January and February to close early. They were extremely short staffed every evening and the poor waiting staff were so over whelmed. Long wait times from ordering but no communication at all, my table wasn’t ready one evening and the manager blamed the reception team at the hotel, I advised him my table had been booked when I arrived and I had no issues with getting my table any other time, he was more focused on seating people who were walking in. He advised me that the hotel customers were not his main priority and he served the local area as well (which I totally understand but a lot of.Business people/tradesmen stay at this hotel I was told by the waiting staff that they are possibly being taken over and staff numbers had been reduced to make the figures look better.. the only saving grace was my last evening where I was served by a lovely lady called Melinda. This was the only occasion in my 5 day stay that any of the staff had spoken to me after being seated, the only occasion I was asked if everything was ok with my food, the restaurant works on table service so communication should be as standard. The food itself was nice and came out hot but no warning that the jugs which the sauces/gravy comes out in are red hot which burnt my fingers and caused me to drop it. I can imagine with the right level of staffing and service this could have been a 5 star review. I would advise not blaming the reception team when customers have not been added to the table plan as the booking was clearly in the system.

Typical national chain food ok but not the best

It's a basic beefeater, food is ok, you can't expect anything special! I had the gammon and enjoyed it, The staff are lovely enough but the toilets are absolutely disgusting which does make me wonder what the kitchen is like. Only been twice and probably won't go any more.

Came on xmas day spent nearly £130 and it was absolutely shocking the only thing nice was the starter the main meal and the dessert was rubbish, we come here all the time and its normally spot on but the xmas dinner turkey tasted like it was out of a deli packet and the mint sundae glassware still frozen. We weren't offered a drink at all and had to go find someone to get one. Really disappointed 😞 filed a complaint 4 weeks ago nearly haven't even had a response. Really disappointing!!

Just been for lunch at the beefeater. Have been here before and food is usually OK. However my wife ordered the fish and chips. Fish never seen the fryer. Was very anaemic with slimy fish and thick cut chips were not cooked through. Sadly won't be visiting again.

Always go in beefeater for drinks good selection. The staff are great always smiling and remember your drink order. Will always use this pub x

Didn't eat here but sat down for a while, waiting for check-in at the hotel. Lovely place. Set up local. Loads of parking spaces. I could see fresh lunches being served. The atmosphere isn't too sophisticated

Having been for a meal a week previous which was good, I was very disappointed with the general service & organisation. Yes I get it was Christmas eve but any pub serving food should be more organised. We had to order our food 2 weeks previous as we were a large party of 18, sure not a problem! Christmas eve came & we were seated at our table to be told that half our preordered meals weren't available. Some of the party ordered different dishes. We then waited an hour before anything even came out, baring in mind we only had the table for 2 hours! Complained to the manager who then tried to blame us for being a large party & ordering the type of food we ordered. Never again will I go to this pub!!

Staying at the premier hotel got a meal deal with beefeater next door just had a 10oz ribeye steak salad was the best yet the chefs cooking was perfect,the waitress darcie was happy friendly and professional could not ask for anything else was perfect and the cake after it

Very poor service, I had a festive meal which came with frozen sprouts that had been put in hot water and then directly onto the plate, there's only one restaurant in Yorkshire where I have received homemade chips, obviously not here, Staff didn't smile , looked like it was too much trouble, would never dine there again

Visited on a weird time between Christmas and New Year. Good mix of customers from families to couples to solo people. Food was honestly brilliant! Medium rare steak was exactly that, the "74" sauces are outstanding. Staff had plenty on but were friendly and helpful. I didn't expect excellent from a chain pub, but that's what I got. I'll definitely be going back!

Very dissapointed with our food order. We waited an extremely long time for the food to arrive. We entered at 1.30 and wasn't served with food until 2.45. We asked for child's menu/options but was told there wasn't any, consequently the burger ordered for our 8 year old, was far too much and wasted. Both burgers were overcooked and the chips were only just warm. The festive choice dessert was laughable...a "boxed" Mince pie was presented, still in the tin foil on the middle of a huge plate. The "mint choc sundae" from the festive dessert menu was filled with far too much lime sauce, which we could only assume was for colourfull affect as it totally spoiled the mint taste. There was no decafinated coffee. Our bill came to just over £70 for 3 festive menu's and 3 drinks. Definitely wouldn't return.

Has become one of my regular food places. The weekday lunch is great value, and the evening menu is great quality food. The service was great from Thomas. Really appreciated everything

Came for Christmas dinner, very slow at bringing food out, had to ask multiple times for the remaining courses which had long waits between them, the main course wasn’t good the meat looked very poor and veiny, no one enjoyed it and I left mine as it was swimming in gravy, wouldn’t come back for food again. This was £63 each too.

Went in Christmas eve for a cocktail. Told an abrupt No! Were not doing Christmas cocktails today. I quickly ordered something else as the barman appeared very impatient. Not really a nice experience. We left after our first drink.

Currently writing this after waiting 1 hour for food. We pre ordered as it was Christmas eve we were then told that half of what we wanted wasn't actually available despite pre ordering after we then changed our orders we waited over an hour. Half our order was wrong, the other half has yet to turn up. I appreciate that Christmas eve is a busy time however we were told we only had the table for 2 hours yet the first hour was waiting for the food Edited to further add After some of the food arrived we had starters and mains at the same time and some orders completely missing they then denied all knowledge of the missing items yet some of these were part of the same order that was missing despite a pre order. The manager then blamed us for being a large table I have never seen service as poor as this

Friendly, not too busy, tasty fresh food, excellent service and clean, including the toilets. Very good value for money breakfast — pay at the door and have your fill!

Nicely laid out Beefeater restaurant. Service was good in the evening, but poor at breakfast. My main, sirloin steak, was really nice. Triple cooked chips and onion rings were also good. Other mains were average. Halloumi was overcooked, as was the veggy burger, hence 3 stars for the food. Additional comment re breakfast: Food was good with plenty of choices available. However, the older, blond haired lady who served us had no personality or engagement with guests. Placed some gluten free toast, on a plate, onto our table, without a word being uttered. Poor.

Toilets was abit to be desired for that early in a morning need a good clean

Terrible. Not enough bar staff. Staff more interested in talking to regulars than actually serving people. Once they've taken your money at the bar, no interest in delivering your food. Walked out Wouldn't mind the shoddy service so much if you were paying spoons prices. But to pay over 15 quid a main, this place is disgusting.

It was ok, didnt seem anything special, Ordered Fish and Chips from the main menu at around £15 I think, but it wasnt huge and there wasnt too many chips - but it was nice - just a shame about the portions for the size - in my opinion for that particular meal anyway
