The best restaurants serving American food in England

I loves coming here for it's unique menu and cocktails. Having tried it now post-take over; the cocktails are still great (if basic) and the staff is as lovely as always. The menu is huge (never a good sign), it's no longer has the best fries to price ratio, and while I usually like the cosy cluttered approach, here is feels like it's been Instagram-ed. It's a shame, because Big Soc was a unique place, but now it's basic. I suspect part of the aim is to drive away old customers for younger ones though.

Popped into Shark Club Gastro Bar in Newcastle for lunch with a mate, and it was a proper treat! Their wings are the star- tender, juicy, and perfectly marinated. We split a platter with Korean and BBQ flavors, both absolute bangers. Couldn’t resist the steak bites either—succulent and packed with flavor. Priced around £15-£20 for the lot, it’s great value. The staff were dead friendly, keeping the vibe upbeat in this lively, modern gastro bar. One tip: avoid match days unless you love a packed house—it gets swarmed with footie fans! Perfect spot near the city center for a casual bite. Highly recommend for a top-notch pub lunch—just plan around Newcastle United games!

So sad that this place was supposed to have been 'saved' by the new owner, but has completely lost any essence of what it once was. Such a damn shame to have a brilliant venue turn into what it is now.

We use this restaurant regularly and this is the first time we have left feeling dissapointed. It was very busy and clearly not enough staff to deal with it. However we were waited on by a lovely man named Mohame. He did an amazing job as usual. BUT when the food arrived the battered crispy fish was totally soggy and not cooked properly. Also the mushy peas were extremely dry almost crusty. We showed Mohame and he apologised and offered to get another one or a different choice. Our friend chose a steak instead. However by the time the Steak arrived everyone else had finished their meals. Our friend who had eaten some of our chips etc really dident feel like eating and asked for a takeaway container. Our dissapointment came when the bill had charged for all four meals.To have served such a poor and unhealthy fish meal and ruining our evening, we feel the least they could have done was to not charge for the replacement meal. We love this restaurant and have never had a problem before, but now feel very let down. We acknowledge how busy they were but to serve such an unedible meal is no excuse. I have given this restaurant a lot of good reviews over the years but sadly can't do so this time. We have taken some photos but the system will not download them.

Food was delicious, atmosphere and service was very welcoming and the head chef came over to talk to us about the different food options. And they have a dessert bar!!

Great service station with Waitrose Supermarket goods, a Greggs, Starbucks coffee machine and good toilet facilities too.

Visited The Bull, Wheathampstead for a meal and catch up with friends. We had a lovely meal with everything delicious and cooked to perfection. Our waitress, Belinda was attentive but not intrusive and was very knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. I couldn’t decide which cocktail to choose and Belinda recommended the Disarrano Blush which didn’t disappoint and I highly recommend too. The Bull is well worth a visit, lovely location especially if you get to sit outside by the river on a nice summer’s day.

Exceptionally friendly staff, tentative and welcoming. When the food was ordered we alerted that we had a peanut allergy sufferer. They went through all the ingredients double checking the allergy booklet and alerted the Chef. Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Will be returning soon.

Low volume music...love it. Staff were spot on and the actual pub was comfortable. A good find for a city centre pub

Great Sunday lunch, from the two course menu. Cheese soufflé starter was really nice and the lamb main meal was delicious. Staff were fantastic, providing brilliant service. Lovely ambience. Had such a nice meal and experience I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Portions are very big, and it’s not like me to leave delicious food on my plate !

We visited on Friday night. 6 adults ready to eat BIG. Numerous waitresses walked past ignoring us without even as much as a smile or a hello. After 10 minutes we gave up and took our business across the road. Shameful way to run a business! It wasn't even that business empty tables all over the venue.

Didn't eat so can't comment other than that bee was Ice cold on a hot day served promptly and with pleasentries.

Myself and my boyfriend went here for our valentines meal. The meals were amazing, very tasty! Our waitress was Anna she was very busy but she delivered excellent service. Anna was lovely and very attentive and helpful throughout our visit. Would definitely come again especially with the outstanding service! Thank you Anna! You made our night!

Food was lovely, food and drinks came quite fast. The only downside is when you want to leave. I waited 40 mins with nothing on the table so was clear I wanted the bill, had to ask for it in the end. Once I had the bill I had to wait a further 20 minutes for someone to come back for me to pay which they didn’t, so I had to get up and go and ask if I could pay so I could go. No one asked me about the “tip jar” amount if I wanted it taken off or not, I feel like this should be put on the card machine like in other restaurants and you can click if you want to tip or not. I did pay the tip because I just wanted to leave at this point but if I had the choice I would not have due to wasting an hour sitting and waiting for the bill.
