Ellie was the most amazing host and the food was out of this world. If you are in Newcastle you need to visit, the is a 5 star restaurant

Great for wings and other food. Me and my mates came in on a Friday and enjoyed 50p wings with a drink. Good atmosphere and a good choice of beers.... Wingman/ Blue moon etc. will be going again

We literally come down here just for wings. Golden Shark is always the flavour I've gone back to after having tried the other ones but it depends what flavour you like. Tried the Salt and Pepper wings on this occasion. They aren't your salt and pepper Chinese flavour if that's what you're looking for but rather plain salt and pepper. So a bit plain for me but might be what you're after. The chipotle lime is good but still not as good as the Golden Shark flavour. The BBQ is always good but gets a bit sickly after a while. Though love that you get to choose half and half if you want to try two different flavours. We love this place.

Used to enjoy shark bar. And is appears they've had a revamp. Wings are still great. Beer is good. Tv on the screens. They put the NFL on a screen for a few of us, and then on the big screen.

Went to watch one nof the London NFL games here during the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made sure we had TVs with the game on near our seats. Food was really nice (we got the chicken wings) and really good value for money.

Waited over ten minutes to be served. It wasn't that busy but the 3 bar staff weren't interested at all. Walked out without being served and went elsewhere. One star too many

A nice bar in Newcastle which shows sport on large screens, drinks are fairly priced and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Probably the worst place I’ve eaten in, 1 starter didn’t arrive, the wings arrived in seconds clearly straight from freezer to deep fat fryer. Burgers looked more like donner meat than a burger both served barely warm, when mentioned to waitress she was on her break when cooked. Drinks asked for orange juice got sguash. Asked for gin, we don’t do cocktails.

Edit: This bar is really going to suffer with the Stack opening next door. Shark is constantly completely dead. We popped in during the Euros to watch a match and on the thirty odd TVs they had on they were showing the news and the weather. Had to ask five times for the Euros to be put on. The table service was dreadful. Waiting fifteen mins for a beer. At £7 a pint you'd think they'd bring them out pretty quickly and be keen to take your order. But no, staff keep their heads down in the hope they can ignore you. Popped in today for the UEFA Nations to watch the football. And they've got on all the TVs Premier league highlights from a match played over a month ago Everton V Brighton. TBF the match wasn't available on the available channels but there was live cricket and NFL on, but no PL highlights were on. Good job the chicken wings are good. Gr8 place to watch footy. Gr8 food. Sit at a table and lovely girls bring drinks to your table. No hassle at the bar. What more could you want. 😀

Fantastic service from Georgina, who was extremely attentive and friendly throughout our stay. She constantly made sure we had enough drinks and made our stay as enjoyable as possible. Food was great, and there were good vibes all night. Would 100% recommend and will definitely come back in the near future!

Food was good but service was shockingly bar...waited ages to order drinks, those then turned 1 by one...30min late someone decided to take our food order, we asked for 5 different plates of wings, when those turned up (only 4 places arrived), we did not get any plates for bones, no napkins and no cutlery...had to basically get up and go and ask staff for it. When cutlery arrived we asked again for missing 5th plate of wings but that never arrived....after over an hour there we decided to ask for bill and that's when our last plate of wings arrived which is why in picture there is not even touched plate...we were so fed up with waiting that we just paid and left it there. This place could be fab but with this service I would be a lot happier in Witherspoons.

Spotless venue! Fantastic food. Table service was impressive considering it was the Euro final. Very clean and great prices!

Elouise waited on our table for 5 hours whilst we watched the euros on a stag do and all of us couldn’t believe what great service she gave. Never have I been to a bar where someone keeps passing by the table to just eyeball if you need more drinks and just knows the right time to come over to ensure you’re never empty. Hands down the best service we’ve ever had at a bar and a great place to watch a game too!

Wings and beer Elouise was great and she kept the drinks coming quickly, huge wings, £171 for 12 pints and wings and burger during an England match. Need Hisense TVs with anti reflection screens in the windows but apart from that spot on.

Food was good and portion size was also really good. The food came out quick and there was entertainment to watch if wanted.The staff were nice as well. Would go and eat here again

Really nice refurbishment, a nice addition to the city to have a proper sports bar, food was great and decent selection of drinks, but let down by service often 20 minute wait for drinks on Newcastle match days, lots of ignoring from staff when trying to request a drink, you feel it could be more efficient and have better customer service…. A smile goes a long way.

It’s a nice place to try various flavours of chicken. I loved it. However, the music was too loud for me as I couldn’t hear myself or my friend sitting just in front of me.

Maybe I’m too old 😩 but very noisy and disappointed to see female members of staff in such short shorts whilst men wear trousers. On match days all the chairs are removed and staff walk round with trays of shots. Tried the double cheese nachos £13.50 and chicken wings with chipotle lime £5. Both tasty. Wine 175ml £6.50 and a pint of Wingman £6.65.

Pains me to say so but the service was really bad

Wings Wednesdays and Fridays. 10 wings for £4.90. Many flavours to choose from. Jack Daniels wings are the best. Must book to get seated as its always busy on these days. Not the most attentive staff but all are nice and friendly. Love the place. Edit: There’s been a little refurb inside and prices are a little bit more these days. It’s cleaner than it once was but everything above still stands. Only thing that I can point out is that staff need to be more attentive to customers in for food. It’s hard to catch their attention with the way it’s lay out. I highly recommend this place though for wings!

Great sports bar but weird they have a DJ on so it’s not possible to chat to friends and watch sports. Would be better with music off and sports commentary on.

We sat at a table all afternoon with a current bill at £130 then out of nowhere was told we could no longer sit there as table was reserved. There was no sign to say so, so i politely refused. I was then heavy handled out of the bar by two doormen. I am absolutely fuming about this and will never return.

Absolutely freezing !! Spent 2 weeks at the hotel and used the bar regularly. Never went in the bar when it was actually warm, even at breakfast. Obe night they even got out an electric heater which was like attempting to warm up a kebab with a 2 bar electric heater. Girls behind bar were huddled around it like a 90’s handbag on the floor at a rave. Staff were friendly enough, but Baltic don’t come close.surprised the girls still works the skimpy uniform they were expected to. Saying that, at least you had somewhere to hang your coat… I’m sure we heard a chap say ‘I just going outside, I may be some time’ think his name was Captain Oates ??

The service was incredibly poor. We had to ask where one starter out of three was as it hadn't turned up 10 minutes after the first two. Again four mains arrived and they were nearly finished by the time the 5th arrived after asking where the burger was. This was barely acknowledged by the staff who were rude. The burger that arrived was burnt in places. Having had a long journey and staying at the adjoining hotel the restaurant seemed like a good idea. Never again. Security guy was overly aggressive in his attitude when requesting ID from 18 year old son and rude when we said his 17 year old girlfriend wasn't drinking but obviously didn't have ID. Not a good experience

Food was very poor. Burnt bread for burger. Nice fries but otherwise very disappointed with our meals. Pizza was poorly made with far too much tomato and hardly any cheese. We were with our two boys (aged 12 and 13) and at the door we asked if it was okay to go in with them (after the match) and was told yes. Ordered food then told by security that the kids had to be out in 15 minutes and food hadn't arrived yet. Why let us in and not tell us that the kids had to be out by a certain time? Why let us order food, which would have definitely had to be rushed without telling us that kids must leave by a certain time. I understand that kids have to be out by a certain time for everyone's enjoyment but just be clear with customers what that time is, especially if it is close to that time and they are ordering food. To be fair, the security guy did say to not rush our food, but a very disappointing experience.

Actually, they serve halal meals to the rooms.

It was good. I watched the footie with a pint and an open faced steak sarnie. A bit loud at times but it's a bar and to be expected. Staff really friendly and pleasant.

We were a large group of 12 that got our time wrong by an hour. They were very understanding and have is somewhere to sit. A waiter brought over chairs, a waitress brought over drinks. They found a table after a short while and then fixed it so we wouldn't have to move as this particular tackle was booked later on. Our waitress for the evening was then completely attentive to all our needs. We were all very impressed.

It’s Shark Bar. It’s one of Newcastle’s staples for a reason. The wings here are always top notch. They have a good range of flavours and are a good size. They do deals on these on Wednesdays and I’d highly recommend! It’s a great venue for coming to watch love sports as normally has 2 varying matches / games on due to the high number of screens. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming.

This used to be a canny place to watch a game, but now, if you happen to cheer a goal just a smidge too loudly, you’ll be hushed by the staff. The only difference between this place and a library is that they serve drinks and food. Oh, and have overly made up waitresses that are happier chatting that looking for customers. Avoid.

Ellie was super amazing and the food was awesome, had our friend from Manchester join my partner for his birthday and it was indeed an awesome time. Not just with the food but with the great service by Ellie😍

Expensive but good atmosphere and food

Poor showing last night, it took 30 minutes from ordering drinks to receiving them - the food arrived before the drinks. We were in for two hours, only got two drinks due to the glacial nature of service and had to chase the second round as it was over 20 minutes since ordering. The place wasn't even that busy, looked like only two bar staff were actually serving. Not what it used to be, unfortunately.

Nothing special, food was ok but my wife’s chicken goujons arrived to the table cold while the accompanying chips were hot. Not sure hot they got it so wrong. Had a ginger beef dish which was decent. Drink prices are high and quality poor. The hotel have their breakfast here and it’s truly awful

Visited at 3 before Sam Fender concert.it was busy but we'd booked a table. The service is incredibly slow only managed to get 2 drinks in just under 2 hours.the food left a bit too be disired we had to return the wings as they were cold and I don't mean nearly warm.the steak sandwich was very chewy. We left disappointed I'll be honest

We stayed at the hotel attached to this bar and all I can say is do not waste your time visiting this bar. Four of us attempted to order food and after waiting for an hour after ordering was advised they were short staffed in the kitchen and could not fulfill our order . Stay well clear if you want food

The bouncers here are absolutely awful! Spoke to me and my colleagues shockingly and made one of the people cry by giving insults. Extremely aggressive for a food bar. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Food was rated highly on Tripadvisor but we got the chicken wings with Syrah’s and they were like eating sand on then rotten.Girl serving was lovely.

Sports Bar with many TVs but do not celebrate a goal. My wife and I attended this "sports bar" as residents of the adjoined hotel to watch a football match that they were showing. When our team scored we were threatened with being thrown out by a power crazy bouncer. We noticed the bouncer also threatening another group following a goal. As far as we could see the group was very well behaved.

The chicken wings were so raw. I sent it back twice and they said it was the bones. I am repulsed by this. The chicken was bleeding.

A popular sports bar that serves good beer and food and shows all and every sporting events located just next to Newcastle United's st James. They do great deals every day of the week; the best being wing wednesday and Friday where you can divulge in copious chicken wings and beer for cheap.

Been here loads of times on match day and it’s the same over and over really slow staff If there know someone that’s worked in there before hand there quick to serve them and it’s free on top Food is lovely if u can get a table to order But your bar staff are awful really awful The speed of them looking for a card reader to take payment is like walking a old parson over the road 2 card readers is not enough

Absolute shambles Currently 9pm, got here at 7pm. Still waiting for our dessert. Cutlery was dropped from the squad, Napkins a late introduction, will we grasp a dessert in the last minutes? Who knows but I know I’d rather be at a windy Monday night in Stoke than I would be here

So issue one no cutlery given with starter. We then waited ages for our puddings. Went to ask the order was missed. Two people then asked for our order. 35 mins later they then came back to say it was missed again! We were then told we had 10 mins to finish our drinks and go....still no food! This whole experience took over 2.5 hours! The venue was freezing aswell and sat with coats on for entire duration. The manager did not even apologize. Worst service I've ever had!

Most tv's I've seen in a bar, loads of room and seats, plenty of drink selection. Serves good food and across the road from St James Park.

Went in on Friday around 18:30. Despite not even being busy waited 20 mins to get a round for 5 of us. Understandably no intention of hanging around for a second drink. I was attending a hospitality at St James and most people had said the same about Shark Bar. In these current times its ridiculous to think how much money this poorly ran place lost on Friday alone as loads got sick of waiting and left. Without doubt the worst service I've experienced in the Toon.

Went in for a pint or 2.. with my wife and son, who uses a wheelchair. Got our drinks and sat down, my son asked for some crisps, went to the bar and they don't sell crisps, The young man on the door came over and asked what our son wanted, He then disappeared out the door and came back a few minutes later with CRISPS... what a guy. Absolutely fantastic, had some food and that was lovely as well. Amazing staff, thank you.

Absolute joke. Bar staff couldn't care less about serving you, only bothered about socialising with their pals behind the bar or on other tables, and they try to kick you off a table fifteen minutes before your booking ends.

Never been here before the food was delicious. Bar staff could be a little more organised, felt like an age to get served and there wasn't that many people at the bar. The waiting staff were really helpful.

Just sat having breakfast after staying in the hotel. My dad is disabled and i couldn’t have asked for any more help. Every member of staff helped us and it wasn’t any effort. They opened an area for him to sit comfortably. I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant place to eat. I would 100% recommend for the customer service. The food was delicious too:

Lovely view of the stadium and more. A member of our party, who has a learning disability, sneezed all over his food as the waitress was taking it away. She remained professional thereafter inspite of his gross faux pas.

This is located right next to the Sandman Signature Hotel. The staff are all very welcoming & the food is of a high standard at a reasonable price. The breakfast was plentiful & there was plenty of choice. I especially liked the overnight oats. I would definately recommend a visit here

Summary: just get the wings Service: very slow and there was only my group of 3 and maybe 2 other people in. Also the tables should really have the standard condiments. I'm a fan of vinegar on my chips but couldn't see any and our original waitress was no where to be seen. (well we could see here her she was just in a booth chatting) When our waiter changed tho he was more helpful. And when we added a tip he pointed out that the bill already had a service charge added. Not really keen on bills auto adding but he was open about it so that's no big deal imo. Food: as above wings were very very good. Really had loads of meat and the flavour was brillant. Burger no so much maybe a tad overdone but maybe I was just full off the wings. I probably left half the burger cos it was average to poor. Id say come a cheap wing day and pile up on those. Drinks: selection was good we could a big cocktail with a bottle reversed in it. How ever due the service issues drinking it was a chore as I assume you get a star but maybe I just didn't understand how to drink it. Decor: really nice with huge screens. Prices: I think it's maybe just over a similar place but then again with inflation and stuff being up I understand. I also wouldn't say they were crazy high

Came here for England match in June! Was a nice place to go to watch the game, they have the cider I drink (rekorderling) and it’s a lovely view of the stadium from the window as well! Very nice place

Nice bar to watch the football in with St James' Park visible right across the road. Good selection of beers and cider on tap and bottle. Very minimal selection of food if you're vegan, so definitely not a place to go if you want dinner as well.
