Exceptional setting, even having seen photos before entering. Large room that fills up well, even during the week. Great selection of drinks and food. The concept being that you are served everything at once so you can taste, share and enjoy at your own pace. Excellent desserts too. Great location on the quayside opposite the Museum of Modern Art and next to the Millennium Bridge, River God and Mermaid. Go for it !! (we are starting too far away, otherwise we would definitely have returned)

We went for restaurant week and were really looking forward to it. We sre both truing to est healthily so checked the menu in advance and there were a couple of things we felt comfortable with ordering before we got to the restaurant. We were shown to our table which was not great as it was a table for 2 and was between 2 other tables both only about 18 inches away. We then tried to order but the starter we wanted was not available, we wanted humous, they offered some green peppers and a dip which we accepted but they were pretty poor. We both then wanted mussels but were told they had ran out. Everything else had fries or potatoes with it. I ordered a chicken burger and asked if I could get vegetables instead of fries but I was told no. What I got was basically a KFC style piece of chicken in a bun with a tub of French fries, it was so disappointing. Not the type of thing I would expect from a 'nice restaurant'. The service was fine but it was too crowded and the lack of choice or flexibility on the menu was really disappointing.

A group of 6 of us visited Victors Newcastle on Thurs 1 Aug for the early bird menu. Excellent food, brilliant and cheerful service, convivial vibe. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant, however, what came with it was to be unexpected. The waitress that served us was extremely rude, we were taking some photos(to be expected in a place like this) and she made us feel incredibly uncomfortable through weird looks and staring towards us. At one point our group was feeling quite nervous as we saw two waitresses constantly staring over at us and talking, seemingly about us. Her attitude was unacceptable and made the beautiful dining experience into a terrible one. Finally, our food was burnt to a crisp - wouldn’t advise the hot honey chicken burger unless you like burnt chicken. The value for money is terrible, we payed £11 for mushroom croquettes expecting to share as it was labelled a ‘plate’ rather than a ‘side’ and only 3 small balls came. Really wouldn’t recommend as high prices, terrible service and dead food.

We have visited here every time we come up from Manchester and never had a bad meal, but this instance, our food was below par, unfortunately. one main very disappointing ( Ribe eye steak full of fatty gristle), and both our were deserts over ( over microwaved and rubbery) lucky you have two excellent members of staff who came to the rescue and salvaged our night out. I would like to thank Micheal, our server, and Cristina, who are a credit to your organisation they stepped in and saved our night. Thank you. Will probably give this site a miss for a while, but I will probably still visit Hale.

A real lack of professionalism & attention from staff. We ordered a £93 bottle of champagne and not one member of the team came and topped our glasses up. Then they proceeded to add a £13 service charge on to bill. They took our order and plates away that it. I think a reality check is needed here. Aesthetics alone can’t make a business sustainable. Think about produce, good food and service!

Excellent service from Christina who surprised us when she told us she had only been there a week. She was very professional, but hard worker & friendly after what had been a very busy afternoon! Have been before & had spotted the Sunday dinner so we tried it & It was lovely. Best i have had for a very long time. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent Experience at Victors Newcastle! Everyone from the hosting team, to the service team and the managers are amazing! The food was absolutely tremendous and would recommend to anyone. I had never tried scallops before but one of the management team Kasia recommended them and they were unbelievable! I will be definitely back to have them again! Jess was serving us during the rest of the time and she was polite, knowledgeable and attentive to our every need. We have a few more occasions coming up so Victors will certainly be our first choice!

Firstly they advertise free car parking at the multi-storey car park behind the restaurant, this was closed so we had to park else where. Nice and colourful looking restaurant, greeted upon arrival and lovely staff (Chuck was excellent) Menu limited and very expensive. None of the dishes impressed, steak was ok pepper corn sauce runny, chicken dish came with a tasteless salad of rocket and raw carrot. Most disappointing thing was the 2 desserts, sticky toffee sponge was dry and tasteless and the key lime pie inedible yet still remained on the bill. Wine £10 a glass lager £7 a pint. £263 for a mediocre meal for 4 people, included a 10% service charge, would we return ? Absolutely not, save your money there are much better restaurants in the area

Just visited victors for Sunday lunch It was myself and my wife's anniversary. So we decided to splash out and go for the 1kg tomahawk as we've never had one before. We were warned that it may take a while due to the size of the steak which seamed fair enough. We watched as other people's meals came and went then our meal arrived to say we were underwhelmed was an understatement. A 1kg tomahawk can serve up to 8 people According to the Internet I'm not a big fella but I have a decent appetite and I could have eaten it by myself after you cut all the fat off which there was an abundance of. Then there was the vegetables bear in mind this is an 85 pound lunch shared between 2 once again I could have eaten it all by myself. 4 pieces of tenderstem 2 carrots 7 roasties a splodge of mash and a dash of cabbage. I had to remind them about the Yorkshire puddings which were a decent size and had to ask for more gravy and when it came it was in a tiny little jug. Overall the meal was 119 pound for a main a glass of champagne and a bottle of morreti including a 11 pound tip which they include in the bill. I expected to leave stuffed but instead left hungry. After they money I'd just spent I shouldn't be eyeing up food vans on the quayside market. Was really looking for to going to victors as we'd heard good things but left disappointed and certainly wouldn't be recommending it.

Great food, lovely staff, beautiful atmosphere.

Restaurant itself is very pretty, was asked when getting seated if we wanted bread and olives for table. Got a shock when bill came and we were charged £12ish for it. Never paid so much for bread in my life 🤣 thought it was a bit sneaky that set menu wasn't offered, had to ask 3 times to see it. Honey chicken burger was nice but key lime pie was to die for. Server was really pleasant and friendly believe she was called Christina. Was a nice experience but I won't be rushing back as I thought it was overpriced for what it was.

My wife and I visited to celebrate my birthday. The food and cocktails were delicious, the team and service was excellent, special mention for Christina who looked after us, only her second day in the position and she really made our evening with her friendly professionalism and sense of humour. We love the ambience of Victors which only adds to the experience.

All fur coat and no knickers! I understand why people of a certain age like this place as it looks good on photos and selfies. But the food is mediocre and massively overpriced. £29 for lobster Mac and cheese that was in a bowl the size of my fist. Virtually no lobster present. I raised this and said it looks like a small plate rather than main dish and the lady agreed with me. She said portion sizes are set by head office. Tbf she did knock money off the dish but it still wasn't with what we paid. Service also not good. Staff looked uninterested and we had to get up and ask to order drinks and food order. Wont be returning and wouldn't recommend

Lovely place and lovely location staff hit and miss service likewise. If you have money to burn this is for you if not give it a miss the food is average at best and the prices are written like telephone numbers!! I’m no big eater but even I felt extremely short changed for both quantity and quality . Won’t be returning unless somebody gets a grip of the most important issue the FOOD👎

We came to Victors for an afternoon tea to celebrate my Daughters 21st . It’s a lovely place and she said she would love to visit one day so i thought it was the perfect opportunity. The lady came to serve us and said with the after Tea there was unlimited Tea, Coffee, Hot chocolate, which was good. The food arrived with sparklers to celebrate and was presented nice . The bread for the sandwiches was a bit dry as if it had been stood for a while and we were only offered one drink and then no one came back to us again. We were disappointed given it was a special occasion and not good value for money .

First visit here. The girl on the door was friendly and got us some drinks while our table was ready. There was a long wait for drinks once we'd sat down and it was difficult to flag people down as they were passing. The starters were nice and the lobster mac n cheese was nice too. The low score is for the slow service and lack of lobster. Given this was a main meal and not a side, there were only a couple of small pieces of lobster and we felt it wasn't value for money for what was served.

What a stunning restaurant, one of the most beautiful I’ve seen. We were in a group of 5 and everyone’s food was lovely, I had the lobster mac and cheese and it was delicious. It’s on the expensive side though.

Hi there. It's with a bit of disappointment that I write this review. I received a gift voucher for two as a birthday present from my daughter. I booked my afternoon tea and arrived Friday 12th July. The surroundings were beautiful and the staff very nice. However, when the afternoon tea arrived my sister and I were very disappointed. There were four small sandwiches and no other savoury items. Then there were three BITE sizedcake and one scone with cream and jam. If I had put all the items on my tea plate they would have fitted!. Ty he presentation was very nice but we felt that the actual afternoon tea needed looking at ,as, it was £32 per person. Tea or coffee was included. I won't be returning for this experience as to he menu had been changed but we were not informed of the changes. My daughter booked this and was lead to believe it included sushi and other items when she bought the voucher. .. very bad amount for the price paid. Really sorry folks.

What a terrible experience, we came here yesterday for a Sunday roast. Three of us had the beef, all of which was returned as it looked like the beef was going to start mooing to us, it was tasteless, I had to ask for roast potatoes as I didn't have any, I wanted pigs in blanket and was told they didn't have any. My son had the 3 meat roast but didn't have the pork belly on his. I could not eat the meal, it was just awful and cold we refused to pay for mine. The sticky toffee pudding was hard and cold, definitely done in the microwave it had to be for it to be so poor. £280 we spent in this place, and believe it or not should have been more. Do not waste your money

Booked bottomless brunch for Birthday celebration. Food average and overcook. Cocktails pre-mix. Floor manager very cold toward us. Birthday not brought to the table. And when complaint even more less interested.

Terrible Food, 2 burgers plain hard meat no tomato or salad on. Chicken burger burnt to a crisp. Cesar salad only lettuce and huge stale croutons, tiny bit parmesan, covered in too much dressing. Chips were ok. But at £18plus a main, absolutely terrible we left most of ours. Nice table outside but thats about it. We wont be back.

Booked for a large group of people on a Saturday. Our table was on Wisteria Terrace which was beautiful on such a lovely sunny day. Staff were friendly and attentive for such a big party everyone was thoroughly satisfied with the service for bottomless brunch. Food was amazing 10/10. A great experience overall, would definitely return!

Starter very nice. Main course of burgers…. Not too good at all. No quality when served. No relish as described and burnt chicken burger and bun. Tiny portion of frozen chips for £18. Dessert sticky toffee pudding barely warm and tough. Appeared microwaved and certainly not made on the premises as advertised. Service was good and our concerns managed immediately and professionally. Bill amended to allow for concerns. However we’re nearly charged for an additional cocktail we didn’t have. Poor experience which saddened us.was advised burgers not their specialty?? Why on the menu then???

Complete mockery of afternoon tea … My daughter booked afternoon tea for my birthday and although she booked long in advance , the table was next to where they all passing and waiting staff were making noise because of the utensils and cleaning stations .We asked to be moved , before being served to the terrace only to hear that they were fully booked , although there were tables vacant . Staff were very unwelcoming , not to say indifferent , they asked more than 3 times for drinks that we would order anyway and interrupting us when we were trying to decide . Both scones were dry ,and one of them burned , hence they were both covered in icing sugar . The rest f the food was decent , but nothing special to cost over £32 per person . Plastic. Flowers all over the little sandwiches and ice water leaking on the table and to our feet. I spoke to one of the waitresses and I mentioned that all the ingredients were nothing special and perhaps to look at what others , such as Betty’s of Harrogate do for afternoon tea , in order to justify this price and she said : I will pass it on to the kitchen .. and she also mentioned that Betty’s specialise in afternoon tea , which evidently, proved that I was right for both the amount and the quality that needed to be present for this ‘impressive’ afternoon tea. In a nutshell , we ordered sparking water that came a bit late , considering it was a warm day and without a lid on the table . The big wine glasses were the only value for money - although on the expensive side for the quality - highlight of the night . It’s a shame in such a beautiful environment not to offer value for so much money spent . As for staff , they are only interested to ask you about any more drinks ..and clean the table quickly when we said no. Not coming back ….

Atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant really nice! Service was really good too they were all really attentive. Food was subpar, we had the classic afternoon tea. It was decorated really nice but the actual quality of the food was basic. Bagels were hard and scones were burnt however they did bring us out new ones. Served non alcoholic Prosecco which was very nice and the hot drinks were unlimited and were delicious. It’s great for the atmosphere and the insta pics but maybe not the best food for afternoon tea. Found it over priced but I think price was more for vibes than actual food.

We were really disappointed in the sushi options. Previously we would always get the full set - advertised as being enough for 4 people. When we enquired about what was included on the ‘new menu’ it seems it was a sushi roll of each and some crispy tuna. Maybe it was explained incorrectly. But there was nowhere near enough food for 2 people let alone 4. Live music was really great and our servers were attentive. Also great baby changing facilities.

Wow, this is what Newcastle has been waiting for, I had my trepidations due to the footballer crowd reputation, how wrong I was, beautiful relaxing atmosphere, our friendly waiter was very knowledgable of the menu & we took his recommendation for the tempura shrimp, they were the best I’ve had, juicy, super tasty & perfectly cooked, wow. The food is fusion Asian & the flavours were fresh & authentic, no complaints at all, We ordered the wrong wine & Dan the manager was super accommodating & allowed us to change our wine, made the night. We asked to sit outside & we ended up staying 4 1/2 hours, the live DJ kicked in at about 8pm & the atmosphere & music was really funky, a little pricy but we’ll worth it, we had starters, mains, desserts, lots of drinks & the bill came to £220 for two, with the service charge already added, not my favourite practice but on this occasion I was very happy to leave a £20 tip for what was a fantastic evening, can’t wait to go back to try more of the menus, thanks to Dan who made the night a total success.

Yeah it looks pretty, but the service was awful! Had to fill our wine ourselves, no body was checking on us. Had to wait a lot to get someone’s attention to get a menu, order food and ask for the bill. There was a group of people, around 14, and all staff were only paying attention to them only!

If only they put as much care and attention into the food and service as they have done the decor. The surroundings and the menu prices are totally deceiving as to the quality and standard of the service and the food. The food was barely mediocre, the service not much better. On arrival, there were only 3 other tables in on a Sunday afternoon, a bad omen perhaps. We were seated at our table and left waiting for 25 minutes before someone came to us. No offer of drinks, straight to the food order and we had to ask for a bottle of wine. We were then asked to show our ID which was laughable. The wine came and we were given a reused ice bucket from a table that had just left and that had mostly defrosted. One of our servers also had grubby marks all over her dress. It followed that she tipped another table’a order down her front and then asked the chef to reassemble it and still served it - GROSS! This should not happen when the kitchen is open fronted for all your customers to see. We both ordered the hot honey chicken burger… honey had never even looked at that burger never mind made it onto it. It was a boring, deep fried chicken thigh that barely filled the bun with only mayo and a gherkin in it. Completely different to the menu description. I winced at the thought of paying £17.50!!! The fries were overcooked and had the taste of old burnt fryer oil. The atmosphere, service and food is seriously lacking and does not warrant the price tag. The staff seemed like they’d rather be somewhere else. Won’t bother visiting again.

We came in with high expectations as the restaurant itself is very well decorated and social media gave us the idea that the food was high quality. However, we ordered five different plates and were all beyond disappointing. The most disappointing was the steak which was supposed to be medium but it was well-done and the portion was ridiculous. Nothing like the pictures. Even though we communicated our dissatisfaction about it with the staff they didn’t seem to care. The pizza was like eating plain flour and the duck was disgusting. It’s a shame that such a beautiful place serves such low quality food. Maybe one of the most underwhelming dining experiences in Newcastle.

We bought the Groupon for colleagues gathering. As we paid around £ 20 to £25 including the drink. The location is great location if you have a day trip then stop eating. This Victor is a cosmopolitan food choices. Sushi , steak and chicken tempura etc. We had option for paying £8 for steak the portion very decent. Remember do not ask medium well😉. I am not sure will I pay for++40£ per head for that. We were 5 of us and all very happy. Hopefully Victors could do more offer at Newcastle weeks. The atmosphere and the decor are good. It worth takes more photos inside the restaurant.

Went in this afternoon for what turned out to be overpriced cocktails and a ridiculous ‘service charge’ After ordering two old fashioned, the bartender asked us what whisky we wanted as the base, we said you choose one (from the two on the menu) He selected a whisky that had an additional cost without actually telling us this, then presented us with the bill which included a service charge which again, wasn’t mentioned. Crappy practice and this service charge nonsense in the UK needs to stop, you get paid a wage, give over, it’s not the USA. Drinks were fine, though overpriced, but the deceitful charges put me off going back and if you do visit, make sure to ask them to remove it before paying.

We have given this place 3 tries now in case the first two times we were unlucky. The venue is beautiful and it’s clear that a lot of effort and funds have gone into the decor which is great, but sadly the service doesn’t match. Each time we have been we have waited over 45 minutes for our food. The service isn’t great as they aren’t very attentive and it’s lacked a maitre D of some sort putting in a little more effort to be welcoming and warm to customers. There is very little friendliness from staff - a “hello, welcome!” “thank you, goodbye!” Wouldn’t go amiss. For the price, that’s the level of service you would expect, but sadly the experience doesn’t match the price you pay. When you get it, the food is very nice. I think it’s probably a great place for drinks at the bar with great photo opportunities with all the faux wisteria and pretty lights.

Worst afternoon tea I've ever had. Looked amazing but was poor. Everything was presented on a big platter of ice which leaked onto the table and dripped all over the floor the entire time. The cheesecake was substituted by some greasy shortbread disaster, they were out of cones so we were given little cups, the scones were flat, undercooked, inedible and definitely weren't fresh, there were no strawberries and definitely no truffle in the sandwiches. The waitress eventually mopped the floor. After complaining we were given an apology (the chef blamed someone else) then suddenly a fresh, normal scone appeared with strawberries. They gave us a substantial discount off the bill, for good reasons. Poor service too. Very disappointing especially as it was my daughter's birthday.

I dont even know what to start from , it was my cousins birthday and we all went out to celebrate his birthday we were really looking foward to this place , 1 staff was so rude , she was so miserable never smiled , she never came to check on the food or if we need more drinks , next the food was not cooked properly, steak were rare but not eatable full of fatt , by the way no one on our table ordered rare , it was medium rare bit definitely not cooked properly, we waited 1 hour and 30 mins for the food , pizza was burned , and i have pictures proof we dont exaggerate, we are very disappointed , worst experience, we will never go back there , first time and last time definitely! And on the website they have some offers and they advertise some food that they dont have ! We were more hunger then we went there literally out of 10 people only 2 had their food 🤦🏻‍♀️

This was my 2nd visit to Victor's for Sunday lunch. First visit was fine. Second visit was poor. Wrong drinks arrived at our table. Waited 30 minutes after ordering to be told our meals would be a further 10 minutes. 20 minutes later still no food. We had complimentary bread but this isn't good enough. Only positive the staff seemed very nice. Following my review the restaurant replied asking me to email them. As you can see in the reply. I did this & surprisingly Marta didn't reply to my email .

Everything was slow and not worth it. Service was slow and food was even slower. Everyone standing around doing nothing. Then they have the cheek to add a huge service charge. The steak was not worth the wait and it wasn't worth the price...

Experience cocktails and a good afternoon tea. Would visit again.

Thoroughly disappointed at the service, arrived and was attended to straight away got comped, nice 30th Wedding anniversary but from that point nothing, but downhill, no table service for drinks no one approached if drinks were needed/wanted despite only 4 occupied tables in the whole place. Could have been great but inattentive service didn't ruin anything but our spend on cocktails would have been considerable. We spent our money elsewhere, I am sure you would have preferred it in your coffers, maybe you can afford to alienate customers, good luck with that.

Been drawn to the place from the Instagram adverts but unfortunately this was the first and last time we have visited. The Instagram post made this place look to be a high end and spacious unfortunately it wasn’t . The terrace extension was tiny and the table set up doesn’t really give customers any sort of privacy. The tables were small and seats quite uncomfortable . The food was just average . The scallops , calamari , and tempura prawns were just borning and quite flavourless. The small sushi set was nice however the sashimi was thick and big slices which in my opinion has made it not as enjoyable. Sushi fountain was placed on the side of the table which meant neither me or my partner could actually see the “magic “ The mojito mocktails had no taste at all and the “ugly” leafs of mint were quiet of putting . The servers were nice and I can’t fault them for anything rather than just asking if we want the table cleared . We choose this place to have a stunning birthday dinner hence why we didn’t want to cause a scene over the disappointment. We have spend £160 for 2 people which I think it’s an avarage price for good quality dinners which this mediocre experience wasn’t .

No issues with the service other than the amount of time it took for our food to be served. Over an hour for a Sunday roast is pretty wild. Kitchen looked pretty overwhelmed having to cook such a crazy amount of different dishes.

Left feeling very disappointed the food and cocktails were fabulous but the staff would not leave us alone we felt rushed the waiter wanted to take our plates away but we still had food on them they even brought us the bill and we hadn’t even asked for it plus we were told to move to the bar it was ridiculous as the place was not busy.

Amazing everything! We went for afternoon tea and it was easily the best one in Newcastle, the staff were so attentive and lovely as well as very funny. My mum and grandma loved their time there we can’t wait to come back very soon

Celebrating the wife's birthday, Can't fault the food, lovely. However took nearly an hour for food to arrive for 2 people. Also booked the 2pm slot for the live music, didn't start till around 3:15, only have an hour half for the table and had plans elsewhere so even if wanted more food, didn't fancy sitting at the cocktail bar to eat it.

Very disappointing. Initial service good. Food good. (Sunday lunch booked 07.04.24) however waited 20 mins for our plates to be cleared whereupon we were ‘nicely’ told we had to move to the bar as the table was needed. I expressed disappointment as I’d wanted a pudding. I was told in that case this would be fine. Dessert menus brought and I ordered baked Alaska. Another manager then checked if we had everything we wanted and I explained I had ordered pudding. I saw this manager then speak to our waiter who immediately returned to our table to tell us there was no baked Alaska (hmmm) and then almost immediately brought us the bill. I appreciate our table may have been booked but the way this was managed was disgusting- not to mention had our plates been removed in a timely manner this need not have happened. Was so looking forward to afternoon tea - not now as will not be back!

Kasia and Jamal were amazing. First time visit for me and certainly won’t be the last. Food was superb , highly recommend. Thank you again

Kasia I think her name is, the lovely lady who trained at ginos Manchester. Incredible so attentive and the FOOD WOW. So so good the beef tataki small plate is heavenly. The atmosphere is beautiful and is perfect for girls date and couples date !!! GO HERE

The atmosphere was amazing!! Tried out the burger today it was delicious will definitely be getting again!!
