Beefeater Cricketers in Tandridge

We were greeted by a moaning guy on the front desk when we arrived, bemoaning the lack of staff, bemoaning the fact we hadn't booked (it was a big group and I wasn't the organiser so I wasn't aware of this). We were just about to put £several hundred through the restaurant so a warmer welcome could have been offered - and as it turned out they could easily fit us in. The ale selection was dismal with only Doom Bar available, and that is one of the worst in my opinion. So I opted for a lager from a similarly poor selection of options - but at least there were 4 to choose from. My Ribeye steak was the toughest I have ever had and not very tasty, and something I regretted ordering after a few bites. Due to the fact we were there with extended family I decided to grin and bear it and not ask for it to be changed. It is as I have come to expect from Beefeaters - average food and drink at best and pretty soulless. It's pretty disappointing you have to pay for parking after 3 hours (we were a very big group so were there for around 4 hours) but at least it was quite cheap to do so. It was inconvenient to have to download, install and set up the app though. I believe our server was called Sophie (according to the receipt) and she was a delight. Cheerful and attentive throughout, she looked after my dairy intolerant Aunt very well, was really good with my kids, and was only too happy to help us with a group photo at the end of the meal.

Visited while travelling. Was busy and we’d not booked but they happily found us a table. Soon realised that the only staff running the entire restaurant the General Manager (Mo), the server (Tracy) and the person managing the bar. Despite this the service was quick, friendly and attentive. There was no feeling of panic, they worked well together and kept everything running smoothly. We both had the gammon and then hot puddings and the food came out well cooked and hot and was really nice. Definitely recommend and would visit again when travelling.

The team are always friendly. Food is always great. Outstanding value with the voucher we received thru the door, just like the old days.

We visited the Beefeater in Bagshot, Surrey this evening and unfortunately, our experience was below average. The food was a letdown, with all of our dishes being dry and overcooked. Although we didn't have time to complain, if we had more time, we might have left the restaurant. On a positive note, the service was good. Our waitress was polite, respectful, and engaging with our 2-year-old, which was lovely. The atmosphere, however, was dull, and the decor and furniture looked tired and in need of an update. While the service was a redeeming factor, the poor food quality and ambiance overshadowed our overall experience. Hopefully, the restaurant will take feedback on board to improve.

Came in a bad mood being turned away from other beefeaters because they were so busy that they shut down my main restaurant. Had this lovely waiter named Mo who served us, a very happy funny guy who lights up the room. If this place closes down again beefeater will lose customers. Don't close this beefeater down! but if you get rid of MO then it's a bye from me. Close the Farnborough one instead as the staff don't have a clue and their rude wouldn't go back there again. Message for beefeater why did you close down your reading store they cooked the most perfect steak everytime and it was doing so well.

Had a great meal and had great service from Mo. I had the Cheesy potato dippers and the beefeater combo. Both came out very quickly and were brilliant.

Good food and great service by Mo he is amazing. I had a lovely chicken breast burger cooked to perfection. My starter was an amazing garlic bread. Mo delivers the food and took my order with the biggest smile on his face. It’s always good to see such a smiley waiter happy to be at work

A beefeater is a beefeater we use many of them but The Cricketers is always the best and it is the people who give it the edge . In particular Mo he is such a charming man who always makes us feel a million dollars ...his energy fills the room and to hear his interaction with client makes the our dining experience complete

We enjoyed the dinner and appreciated the excellent waiter service by Mo, who looked after us. A table by a window makes all the difference and the food was good as well.

Waited half an hour to be asked what we would like to drink . No drinks menu😳. Eventually drinks arrived, order taken . Very meagre portion for starters. Mains arrived eventually, fairly good portions . Desserts ordered. . Understaffed, but staff just wandering in/ out of kitchen empty handed.? Chef didn’t seem interested as he clunked plates down and swished various bits on to plates which sat ready to be served for at least 10 mins.Didn’t seem to want to take money so visited bathroom to find door lock broken and no soap to wash hands . Sadly seems to have gone downhill since pandemic.We shall try once more and that’s it for us!

Terrible service under staffed food was terrible stayed at many premier inns and this was the worst beefeater portion size of starters was half the size as usual chips were over cooked and hard fish was stone cold food looked nothing like photos manager wasn’t much help overall a really bad experience wasn’t worth paying anything while we were in there also see several other customers complaining about the food and service.

On arrival at the restaurant I scanned the QR code for allergens and informed the waitress of my gluten allergy and was told to follow the menu from the QR code - I decided to order from the festive menu and chose the turkey roast - what was delivered was far from what was promised due to the displayed items containing gluten - no pigs in blankets, no stuffing, no red wine jus, no cranberry sauce and no sprouts, despite the menu promising these - instead just a plate of dry ingredients - the plate was then left on the table to get cold whilst the waitress (who had a bad attitude to my reaction to what was offered) went to ask if the vegetarian gravy could be offered - the manager then took over explaining that the online offering for coeliacs was incorrect and informed me that I should have been offered the allergen guide to order from - I then made the choice of a steak and chips and requested the peppercorn sauce (shown on the allergen guide as gluten free) also to then be informed that none of the sauces were gluten free despite being shown as free on the allergen guide! Absolutely ruined birthday meal and would never visit a beefeater restaurant again as would Not trust their allergen guide which is shocking for a major restaurant chain. Avoid avoid avoid

A lovely experience once again. The Cricketers Beefeater being so close to home makes a perfect place for us as a family to dine together, special occasions or not. Food is always at an excellent standard but what makes it simply perfect is who looks after you and your table and we are always greeted with smiles and chat and nothing is too much for them and this time in particular a special mention to Mo. What an absolute pleasure having him take care of our table. Happy and great personality and nothing too much for him in taking care of our requests. What an asset for the Cricketers Beefeater (Bagshot). Truly a very helpful and nice guy. Thanks Mo. Johnny, Jan and Gang.

Good food and highly impressive waiter named Mo: very attentive and amusing. He succeeded in meeting the requirements of a whole range of diners from children to pensioners.

We visited as part of a family weekend away to Legoland for daughter’s birthday. Food was lovely and served in a timely fashion. We were looked after by Becca who was extremely friendly and helpful.

Best part of 2 hours for a 2 course set menu and then we had to try and find somebody to take our money. Two servers struggling badly in a quiet restaurant/ bar on a Friday lunchtime. The food is not expensive and as long as you adjust your expectations it probably represents reasonable value. The service however was that bad that we won’t be returning.

Went to the Cricketers last night and the service was awful. When we had finished our main course it took the waitress 15 minutes to collect the plates. We asked her to being the dessert menu and waited and waited and waited. After 20 minutes she decided to, (or maybe remembered?) bring the menu. By then we were so fed up we told her to get us the bill and left without the dessert. My husband asked for extra gravy with his meal and they gave him some sauce or other and then charged him £1.99 for something he did t even want. We told the guy in charge when we left that we thought the service was dire and all he said was they are bus6 and wee short staffed. Yes, there were only a couple of waitresses and there only seemed to be one that was working hard but no, they weren’t busy. We go to this Beefeater regularly, at least a couple of times a month but have noticed lately that it has been going downhill and there are also not so many customers as there used to be. Maybe everyone else is fed up with the bad service. This is such a shame as we like it thee and the food is usually good but unfortunately due to last nights experience we will not be going anymore.

we came here tonight on a whim as we were staying in the hotel next door. We were served by the wonderful Rebecca. She could not have done more for us, and she was absolutely outstanding. My family talk and talk but she engaged with us and made us feel super welcome. Some of the best service I have received in a long time!!

Sunday roast can only be described as dreadful. Ordered Two roast dinners, one Beef the other Lamb. When these arrived the plates were only luke warm whilst the vegetables were more or less stone cold. Informed the waitress who apologised and promptly took our plates away. A short while late our exact same plates reappeared, this time piping hot - You've guessed it, the lazy kitchen simply microwaved our food!!!! As such this then resulted in soggy Yorkshire Pudding & Roast Potatoes. If I really wanted a Microwave Meal I would have brought one from a Supermarket and saved myself some money. Upon leaving the restaurant we spoke to the Manager - Basically he said he'll speak to the Kitchen Staff. Do yourself a favour and give this place a wide birth, there's plenty of better eateries in the vicinity serving better food for better prices.

Save your money. Go to a store buy a microwave ready roast dinner meal and heat it in the microwave. Basically that is what this Sunday roast was. It was served cold. When we spoke to waitress, she took meal back to kitchen after couple of minuted our exact same meal, missing a carrot and few peas that i had eaten and established they were cold was returned. It had been microwaved again. Spoke to manager who wasn't interested. Won't return.

I honestly feel like I made a genuine friend with my visit to the beefeater at bagshot. Mo was the most enthusiastic, quality and funny waiter ive met. 10/10, legend.

We visited the Cricketers for an early evening dinner and had a warm, friendly greeting. They were not too busy and are drinks and food order was taken quite promptly. The food was good as we have come to appreciate at this Beefeater. Karen, our server was particularly friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. It is such attention to customers that makes for a pleasant dining experience. We found the price too was very good value for money with the promotion on offer. We will certainly visit again.

Our waiter, Mo, was very kind and went above and beyond to serve us. He is definitely an asset to the beefeater.

After being told we couldn’t eat only drinks, Mo went above and beyond to make sure we had food and was very attentive. From what we could see Mo is a great member of staff, constantly attending to people and was extremely friendly and helpful. He was very welcoming and made us feel very at home and relaxed. Lovely meal yesterday 19/3 we weren’t rushed , had various selections from the set menu , all presented very nicely. Our server was Bobbi, occasionally assisted by others,all very attentive to our requests. Well done to all front of house and behind the scenes.
