Sweet Diner in Tameside

My friend had told me about this place so thought I’d try it out.Rang up to order our food and the guy who spoke to us was really polite and patient with us as we didn’t know what to order.We drove there and picked it up and service was great!The food was packaged well as we had to drive a while back to get home and surprisingly it was still hot by the time we got to eat it which was great!The food was really nice and shakes were great too.We will definitley be going again even though it’s quite far from us it’s worth the drive :-)Thankyou!!

Do not go eat there! Their attitude is disgusting. I reviewed something a year or so ago and their response on Twitter was outrageous. There was 9 of us and once we had our food they said they are charging us an extra 10% for large booking over 8. I asked why we wasn’t told this at the start, the response was it was in their terms and conditions. Who reads this when going out for food? It’s just to make money from customer. Also the service wasn’t great and overall food was standard! Cheeky cu*ts! I would rate Nando’s 1000 times over them! At least their staff are friendly and polite! Unprofessional idiots!!! Don’t waste your time

Don’t often write reviews but this was defientely worthy of a write up.From the moment we walked in, social distancing was glaringly obvious, we were asked to sanatise our hands with sanatisers provided, immediately seated and presented with menus.The service was on point, I couldn’t flaw it if I tried. From the waiters that brought our food and went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied to the manager who ensured we were satisfied. The food is halal and was outstanding. The sirracha chicken wings need a noteable mention along with the King Kong burger which is enough to feed anyone with a large appetite.Great work, makes a nice change to have a refreshing experience during these bleak times.Ps there’s a little outdoor Sheesha garden if you’re in need of a smoke after a good meal.

Visited here this evening, Amsal was a great host, nothing was too much trouble. Food was really good and it’s a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend

Very disappointed and confused. Last week I ordered two warm cookie doughs, I paid £14.50 for two on just eat. For this price I expected the cookie to be bigger then the size of my palm! I am confused because I have ate in at sweet diner before and ordered cookie dough which was substantially bigger than the one I received as a takeaway. The cookie looked as if it was taken from a pack of 4 cookies that you can buy from the supermarkets it was that small and had no depth. The cookie itself did taste nice and that’s why I gave two stars. It is a real shame as eating in at this place seems good but first time ordering takeaway and it’s like a whole different product. Felt annoyed that I had just paid £6+ on each cookie to find out how ridiculously small it was for the price. Lost a two customers for eating in and takeaway.

I last visited the diner 2 weeks ago with two of my younger siblings (teens) and my daughter (toddler).We filled up on milkshakes; Get Baked milkshake is amazing!I went to pay the tab and a young woman behind the till had literally walked in a started helping with taking orders and payments before even getting her coat off.I didn’t think much of it and went upstairs to play pool.I didn’t have any change on me so I told my siblings to watch the youngest and I’d go on a 5 minute walk to the nearest cash machine at Morrison’s and break in to a £10 when I got back. I wasn’t looking forward to it as it was raining.The same young lady who took my payment was in the staff room, had took off her coat and bag and heard me say I had to leave my family to draw out money in order to enjoy more time at the diner.Steph overheard that and offered to give us £1 to play pool!Now, £1 doesn’t sound like much but it meant I didn’t have to leave my daughter in the hands of a couple of tech-obsessed kids, didn’t have to go out in the rain and break a £10 note just for the sake of £1.That is the kind of service that will keep us coming back and recommending the diner to all our friends and family.Thank you Steph! You’re an asset to the Sweet Diner and a kind person to do what you did. It was really appreciated.It was the first time my sister and brother have ever played pool and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it’s a family memory we’ll have thanks to Steph.

On the past few visits we’ve had, we have been waiting up to at least 25 minutes just to be asked to order drinks which has led us into leaving and not ordering anything at all. Even thought the food is nice the service is shocking!

Love desserts? Go to Sweet Diner Grandparents parents and children were there for 65th. Birthday of the reviewer! Fine old time there fun place. You don't have to drink to enjoy your self? Staff were friendly and efficient, would recommend.

Used to visit here quite often with friends as it was a favourite spot of ours. However it seems that it’s all become about money and greed now over anything else. Prices all go up yet quality of food goes down. During our latest visit a waffle came out totally different to what was ordered (after a long wait). My sister in law attempted to eat it anyway because the wait was so long but she couldn’t. Sent it back and they returned with the right waffle but only a half because the first one had been started ??!! This one was raw so she couldn’t eat that either. Told the waiter about the issue and he said he would sort something out with the bill. 2 wrong waffles and he knocked £1.35 off a £45 bill. Also, £5.50 for a milkshake and the cup isn’t even filled half way ? Will not be returning to this place as it just isn’t as good as it used to be. If I compare a picture of food from back then to now the difference is appalling. (Pictures attached) the meal was £6 and really good value for what it was. Has now gone up to £7 and is nothing like it was. All in all, £45 for 3 waffles, 3 milkshakes and a Diet Coke.

Came here for food with my wife and 5 month old son. From the moment we entered, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They gave us some cushions to lay our son next to us as he was sleeping at the time we entered. They talked us through the menu and gave us recommendations on what to eat. The food arrived quickly and was hot, fresh and lovely. The manager took a shine to my son and even took him on a little walk/tour around the restaurant for around 15-20 minutes playing and keeping him entertained while me and my wife ate. Even though we didn’t ask for this, i thought that was a very nice touch to top off our experience. The waiters came around regularly to check up on us and ask us if we needed anything else. Overall, i was very pleased with the food and service i received here at Sweet Diner and i will definitely be back again soon. Cannot recommend these guys enough. Thank you!

I don’t get what all the fuss is about and the rave reviews on trip advisor. It’s certainly not a restaurant/diner and of the same quality you’d get at a fast food joint. Only difference is fast food joints are organised whereas this place doesn’t have any structure to it. Service is terrible and waiters clearly very inexperienced.I couldn’t help but laugh to myself when we were sat talking amongst ourselves about how bad the service had been and how long the food was taking. Then I saw two waiters who had been serving us who had just decided to have a time out and sat having a burger themselves in the middle of the restaurant for all to see!Very expensive prices for what you get and misleading menu (drinks advertised as dispensed but then arrive as a can that you would but in a shop but you’re charged £2.50-£3).All in all, I left feeling well and truly ripped off. Would not recommend at all

The food was great, as dessert is my personal favourite, I highly recommend ordering one of each dessert-its worth it and you'll thank me later. Service was amazing-special thanks to Bilal who was super friendly and regularly checked up on us. Really appreciate it.

Myself and a few friends could not be happier with our meal.. the food was great bu the service we received really stood out to us and made our trip far more memorable, we had a variety of burgers and loved all of them, would definitely come again!

£9.00 for a waffle that was nothing special and £2.50 for a small bottle of fanta is just ridiculous. Most definitely won't be returning at those prices.

Ordered a dessert from here and After paying over £20 for 2 waffles one of which was called ‘love nutella?’ With a description of ‘Nutella, Nutella, more Nutella, chocolate fudge sauce and vanilla ice cream’ to receive this?

Went to Sweet Diner yesterday with our 2 grandsons for tea and can only sing its praises from start to finish. The menu is good and the food service was quick and very nice.... the milkshakes are amazing! Looking around at what other people had everything looked really good and definitely one for those with a sweet tooth. All the staff were incredibly friendly and very tolerant of inquisitive children that wanted to nosey around...... when the boys asked to look upstairs the waiter told them to go up and have a look and wow was it cool up there....... funky seating area with glass topped tables filled with sweets and chocolate - even a pool table to play on - you can't take food up there but can go up with drinks to chill out - really nice venue for a

came here to get a takeaway desert. We got into the restaurant at 8pm ordered a desert to take away it took them 45 minutes. At 8:50 when i got into my car i opened the desert and it was stone cold as if it has just been taken out of a fridge and the size of the palm of my hand for £5. Taking it out the fridge does not take 45 minutes so unsure why we waited that long for an obviously pre-made desert. Wont be getting takeout from here again!!!!

This is one of my favourite local places to eat. The food is delicious, have really enjoyed everything I've had here, and the desserts are amazing. Looking forward to our next visit

Me and my boyfriend visited today, I’d seen their food and drinks on their Instagram account and thought I’d like to make a trip and try their milkshakes. We both ordered a, Straight Outta Denton Milkshake and a Get Baked Milkshake. I got the Get Baked one and it was very good. I tried the other one and that was just as good too. On our next visit we’ll be trying the food.

This place is awful. I booked a table for four for Ramadan iftari time, the gentlemen had taken my order over the phone as he had promised the food will be ready by iftari time, baring in mind I ordered around 2pm for an 9:24pm iftari. my order was simple 4 burgers and 3 fries with normal fizzy drinks, we had arrived at 9:10pm and the food arrived at 10:20pm, we waited nearly over an hour for four burgers baring in mind they took our order 2pm same day, I am sorry but it does not take that long to make 4 burgers and the restaurant was not even that full at iftari time, t

Love coming to the diner the menu is ever evolving and the staff are always so welcoming especially Steph and Bilal they always make me feel at home. I tried the new burger of the month and by God it’s epic.

Brought my family here this evening as a mid week treat and they absolutely loved it! Menu is large and has a wide variety to choose from, we ordered steaks and burgers which were amazing, finished off with a hot cookie dough. Staff were friendly and attentive and gave good recommendations on the food and deserts. 100% will be returning very soon, couldn’t of asked for a better experience

Came in today with 3 friends and I couldn’t expect better service! The 3 ladies working all smiling and happy to be working!!! The food was amazing! Kashmiri zing burger is full off flavour and defo worth the money! Classic mojito very sweet but so good! And a chocolate brownie for dessert which was recommended by the manager! Not the first time we have visited sweet diner but today was the first time trying out there breakfast/brunch menu. Food was full of flavour and big portions, we even relaxed upstairs playing pool whilst our food was being made! Lovely little cosy set up right on my door step and the staff make you feel welcome and will do anything to accommodate you. The Cherry sherbet mocktails are to die for!! Can’t wait to return already.Thank you to the lovely waitress for being ever so friendly and making the experience even better for us!

Came here just for the extensive dessert menu . Had cookie dough and ice cream ( amazing) and my friend had mint aero waffle. Really good size portions and delicious. Very fresh and hot.

Went here for a late lunch. Was amazing food, and halal! Shoutout to the friendly staff, especially Steph who invited us upstairs to play on the pool table! Lovely chill out space upstairs. Highly recommend you try the New York Bagel. We will be back!

Came for tea midweek, seated straight away. I had lamb chops which were lovely and my partner had the sliders which he enjoyed. The Nutella cookie dough was gorgeous. Can’t want to come back and try a milkshake and cornflake cake as they had sold out !

This is my fave place to come for a treat, their customers service is lovely, Bombay burger is to die for 😍 finished by their choc brownie 😋 Very clean, nice atmosphere and pretty decor, perfect for dates and bring your friends to!

I recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family. The Mojitos are lovely and you get more than enough for the price. The Halloumi is excellent as are the burgers. The staff are very friendly and it sets a nice atmosphere with the music that they have on.

Absolutely love the Sweet Diner, been coming here for years and each time does not disappoint. The staff are always attentive and friendly will do anything to cater for your needs. The food is amazing and have a wide range to choose from along with deserts! Portions are really good size, would not put my trust in anywhere else for a good cheat day.

Came in last time and ordered myself a chicken and waffle sandwich for the first time and it did not disappoint my expectations ! This time Ive ordered a King Kong and wow wow I did not expect it to be this big of a protion, overall I would definitely recommend it and will come here again!

They say gourmet burger but they get everything from whole seller .cakes are not fresh .ita get delivered. So no they dont make anything. They get delivered and their chef just warm it fof you . The management is terrible. Non trained stuff . And the owner and manager jay is just a clue less boss who runs his timetable from head . Who doesnt value his staff .the food is salty and you might get upset stomach after that.because their decoration is different,people making out look like its the best place . Actually you pay more for normal food so u can take some good picture showing off their stupid idea like waffle with chicken . What a joke this people . Pricy, salty, misleading customer with gourmet advertising. And poor management .

Chicken breast pieces with waffles and maple syrup was my favourite. Unusual mains but something different. Really enjoyed every bit of it. Few good starters to choose from and burgers are good as well.

Very expensive for what you might call pretty substandard food, we even got charged £18 service charge! Thought we'd try the ice cream and shakes, the ingredients were low quality and again not worth what they're charging, Not recommending or going again sorry

This is the second time of visited. The first time the food was good and the service was terrible but the waiter was really apologetic about the wait. We waited nearly 2 hours for my main and an hour for our drinks!

I have just ordered from here for the first time ordering an M&Ms; waffle and coming to collect all the way from Carrbrook,Stalybridge. As the below images show it specifies the waffle coming with white chocolate and whipped cream however as it shows only a handful of M&Ms; and chocolate sauce. As seeing the images of other desserts advertised I’m disappointed with the amount we were given all for £7, won’t be returning.

Had the mozzarella sticks and dips with "let's go for lunch" fries which were both nice. We had a crepe "fudgeydoodle" the pieces of brownie are awesome! "The usual" waffle was also nice. Will return

Food is decent apart from the cheese, that is the worst burnt plastic creation I've ever had. Whats up with good old fashioned cheddar?

Ordered here at 10.15pm for a delivery to my home address, two cookie dough desserts, by far the worst dessert we’ve had, you really need to rethink the packaging it comes in as you had burnt the “cookie dough” to a crisp that was stuck and chargrilled to the foil wrapper it sits on. Wasted £6 on basically a cookie that you could buy from a supermarket and just burn in the microwave yourself. Ice cream however was delicious. But that’s not what I paid for. Had better at cookies and Kreme in Denton and a lot cheaper too! Shame it was closed. Will not be returning any custom to this brand as it was appalling. To wait 45 minutes for this. Absolute vile. So unless you want a burnt cookie with foil wrapping mixed in, I’d suggest you avoid ordering it to home.

Went with a group of friends for a catch-up. I ordered the King Kong burger and the ‘let’s go for lunch’ as a side. Food did not disappoint at all! Friendly atmosphere and great service. 👍🏽 Will definitely be returning very soon!

Everything about this place was enjoyable- from the food to the service to the decor, you can really tell someone has spent time perfecting all the details. I have travelled wide and far to many restaurants but can truly say this is one that definitely fits at the top of the list! Me and my friends loved it and will be back very soon!

We booked as a family Xmas treat there were 22 in our party from 2-92 years old and everyone had a lovely time. Food is fresh and tasty. The children particularly enjoyed the desserts .
