Hickory's Smokehouse Castle Bromwich in Solihull

Had been looking forward to trying this American theme food restaurant. NOT for me ,was DISAPPOINTED .I was aware that we were allocated a hour and 15 minuets slot to eat and go which I was uncomfortable about, a short dinning time to have drinks starter mains and desert ,then having tried the Resturant that’s exactly what it is Eat and Go . The menu was a little limited for choice ,the food was expensive ,obviously pre prepared as the speed it was served , the whole experience was of disappointment and not value for money .This dinning experience wasn't a true representation of American style smoke house barbecue food the company claim and I don’t think the idea will be a success . I won’t be visiting again as there is far better choice out there . E. Solihull

We came here today for the first time to celebrate my husbands 60th. Absolutely spot on from start to finish. Really great service, attentive staff. Couldn’t do enough for you. Amy was lovely. This is a favourite place for the family and my kids love coming here for the food and cinema. Our past visits have been spot on but our latest one for my son’s birthday was a mixed bag, not all of the service or food was up to its usual high standards. My wife and kids food was ok but my cowboy steak was very tough also the chips were over salted. The first waitress we had didn’t seem interested but the waitress we had later ( I think her name is Poppy) made such a fuss of my son and daughter and definitely had the right attitude towards customers. I emailed Hickorys to give feedback and to give them their due they responded. These little things won’t put us off coming again and I’ll just put it down as a one off.

Great experience as always. I decided to leave a review as this place is a real pleasure to visit. Staff always friendly, welcoming and transmit happiness. The food is of good quality, the place is clean and overall absolutely worth the money.

Wasn't for me! Everything tasted the same smothered in barbeque sauce. I wont be going again..Staff were polite and helpful although waited a while for food to arrive, some was cold! I was disappointed.

We spent £97 on 1 starter (that we shared) and a shared platter. The ribs were burnt and dry, the brisket was dry, and the pulled pork was served in what I can only assume was a tin of baked beans? Genuinely awful food. We’d have spent less and got better at Miller and Carter. Servers had no idea what they were doing. Two people tried to take our order, we were brought a Diet Pepsi from a woman we hadn’t spoken to yet, and that we didn’t order, and nobody checked if the food was okay so we had to walk to the counter to complain about the dry food. We were offered a different dish (but we’d have to pay for it as we had ‘started eating’ the dish we didn’t like). Only saving grace was that we also ordered two milkshakes and they were very nice!

It was my sons birthday today and Amy our server was amazing throughout our whole lunch. She made it so special. Our sons only every wants to go here for his birthday as he always get spoilt. The gentleman behind the bar even came over to see him and wished him happy birthday. Food was amazing! I could not reccomend this place enough. By far the best hickorys. He even had a special birthday desert given to him. Thanks guys! You are legends . 💜

This place is an unknown gem! I found this place by accident and I am so glad I did. Me and my partner with our twins came here on Sunday 19th for brunch and we was blown away. Firstly we had such a lovely greeting at the door. They was able to accommodate us with our pushchair. We was served by a lovely young girl who I believe was named Bailey. I ordered the biscoff milkshake which was insanely good! Me and my partner both ordered the chicken and waffles which we was talking about the following day! Exceeded my expectations by a long way!

First time been and will return. Great menu,like the touch of popcorn and bottle of cold water when arrive. Warm welcome and friendly staff. Son very impressed with mac n cheese. Very good portions. My chicken was warm not hot but they quickly rectified with a full meal replacement and free drinks and all was delucious. Some great weekday offers available.

I would love to give the food 5 stars but this review is based on the lack of act-knowledge of management and team and value for money when service is below standard, Waiting for over 20 minutes to clear our plates, ( restaurant not busy, counter over 12 team members working) this never happened. Management and team was to busy having a full on conversation, yes have fun and talk at work but when it affects service and the fact they have now lost a customer, not just for this evening for buying a second drink and dessert but we will not be returning. When asked for the bill they stated these a tip jar.. I asked for this to be removed due to me having to ask for the bill and interrupting their conversation. No friendly Farewell after spending over £70 quid.

I wasn't expecting to have such an amazing experience. Everything was perfect. The staff were the right side of attentive. Very efficient. Leah... in particular is a credit to this establishment.
