Miller & Carter Resorts World in Solihull

Saturday 12th October 2024, My husband and I went out with friends Liz and Jason to ‘Miller & Carter’ at Resorts World at the NEC. Our dinner was booked for 7.00 pm, we arrived and was shown to a nice table for four with comfortable chairs in there very busy and noisy restaurant. We had to talk loud to each other as the noise level was very high. The table was nicely laid out but they were very close to other diners, which made it feel very cramped. A waiter brought us the menu to look at, there was a nice selection of meals to chose from and a good wine and drinks list. I had raging toothache and taken a lot of pain killers, so I had to be mindful of what I was going to eat and drink. Mark, Liz and I did not bother with starters but Jason had a starter of char-grilled king prawns, which he said were nice but messy. The wait between Jason's starter and the main meals was long - one and a half hours, which is not good. For our main courses My husband and Liz had the rump of lamb served pink with Dauphinoise potatoes, broccoli, peas & broad bean puree and a rich red wine jus, the lamb they said just melted in the mouth. I had the ‘Sea Bass’ fillet with Dauphinoise potatoes, char-grilled Mediterranean vegetables, pea puree and tomato tapenade, which was very nice. Jason had the 16oz Ribeye Steak, which he said was delicious served with peppercorn sauce, a wedge of lettuce with a stilton & blue cheese sauce and baby new potatoes. We washed all this lovely food down with 2 pints of ‘Atlantic’ Bitter for Mark, Jason had 2 pints of ‘Peroni’, Liz had an ‘Old Moot’ berries cider and I had two ‘Strawberry Fair’ none alcoholic cocktails. We all had desserts, Mark and Jason had the New York Style Cheesecake. Liz had the Lemon Tart with raspberry sorbet and whipped cream. I had the ‘Tiramisu’, which was lovely and light and the perfect finish to our meal. If the tables were better spaced and the noise levels not so loud and the wait for food to long, I would have rated it excellent, but in this case only very good.

Had a great 3 course lunch and fabulous cocktails....with great friendly service from Sarah i think (she was expecting?) However....one guest has mobility issues and was unable to access the toilets so had to leave the restaurant while waiting on our desserts which wasnt the best.

Had dinner here the night before our flight. Donna was very polite and gracious host to us. She made our dinner a lovely experience and I just wanted to give her a shout out. Thanks again !

Atmosphere at resorts world is always relaxing and enjoyable. Always come to Miller and carter for the calamari as it is one of my favourite dishes. Unfortunately this was unable. Our server Donna was great. Very fast and professional. She was very informative of products and apologised profusely when we realised the calamari wasn’t available. Fantastic food, fantastic server and fantastic atmosphere.

An impromptu meal as we just popped out for a walk around avoiding the bad weather outside. We were well looked after by Donna, who appeared to be the only waitress working, but she managed to keep on top of all the tables occupied. The set menu had plenty of options with good sized portions. We'll certainly be back.

The usual miller and carter experience with the exception of a fantastic lakeside view. Food was good and had a great server called Donna.

The food was delicious and priced appropriately for it's quality, quantity, and location of the restaurant. We were looked after by Donna who ensured we had an excellent visit and we had all that we needed during our meal. The staff were lovely and polite and clearly intent on delivering an excellent service, taking pride in the restaurant. Overall, an excellent restaurant with delicious food and fantastic staff.

We came in here without a booking after a long day at an event at the NEC. We were looked after by Donna who was an excellent waitress. She was very attentive and helped us with our menu choices, she made the experience so lovely and easy after a tiring day. The food was delicious - especially the onion loaf and beef dripping sauce. Would highly recommend - although next to I will book because I wouldn’t want to miss out by risking walking in!

Scallop starter was very over priced. Had to send a steak back for being tough and badly cooked and took too long for drinks

Fabulous surrounding at Resort World. Hadn’t booked just stumbled upon Miller and Carter. Staff were so helpful and accommodating. Donna our waitress was welcoming, gave us plenty of time to choose off the menu. Gave recommendations also. Food arrived perfectly presented and served couldn’t fault the entire journey.

Gabby was an absolute star 🌟. We were a party of 6 who were split between a table of 4 and 2 on a busy Saturday. Asked the front of house if we can sit together as there was two tables free, he declined but Gabby went above and beyond to make it Happen after noticing us talking across two separate tables.. she was very attentive and has a great attitude.. asset to any team

Food was mainly what you expect apart from slightly overcooked steak and one of the fillets being fatty and veiny. The service on the other hand was spot on, our server was Amy, very attentive, friendly and helpful with any issues we had. Definitely recommend a visit 👍🏻
