BEST burger I've ever had. It's that great, if on death row, it'll certainly be my last meal. Stunning, fresh and value for money.

¡Por favor, no pierdas el tiempo! Tenía una reserva. Llegué a tiempo. La mesa no estaba lista. Nos sentamos a esperar “unos instantes” sin menú dado ni pedidos de bebidas tomados, eso está bien supongo. 25 minutos después fuimos al bar y preguntamos qué estaba pasando. “Sus mesas todavía no están listas” (mientras que había mesas libres y la gente se sienta después de que llegamos) . Entonces nos dijeron que buscáramos una mesa y terminarán en un momento. Encontramos uno arriba. ¡Genial que finalmente podamos romper! Me pidieron que hiciera nuestras bebidas y pedido de comida al mismo tiempo y dijeron que solo están tratando de despejar las mesas, así que volveré por su pedido de comida... ¿de acuerdo? Comida pedida a las 7: 45 pm. Las bebidas llegaron muy rápido. Bastante plana, pero llegó. El reloj va tick tick tick . . 8 : 35 pm y todavía no hay comida. Servicio impactantemente horrible, ambiente terrible no volverá! ****Pruebe Maggies parrilla***** cálida bienvenida, sentado rápidamente y buena comida. : )

Outstanding food & service, highly recommend this to anyone, better than miller and carter and better than pasture! Can’t wait to return!

On a very busy Friday early evening we called in for a drink prior to our restaurant booking across the road. It seemed odd that with almost every city centre bar packed to the rafters with the after work Friday crowd there were just four people in the Guildford. I soon realised why after ordering our drinks. As we walked to our seats by the window there was an overpowering smell of urine, stale beer and body odour. We stuck this out for a while and then left. Not an experience to be repeated!

Second visit and not disappointed . If you never visited this eatery then you are missing a treat. Food excellent and service is 1st Class.

After looking at the menu i plumped for the fully loaded burger which came with fries and a drink of your choice, at a cost of £12.50. I haven't been here before and was expecting something quite special for the price. OH how I was wrong , after waiting over 30minutes i was finally given my order which came in a nice ,what i can only call , a small shoe box. with great expectations I opened the box to find some over cooked fries ,a small pot of Mayo and a sad looking burger . The fully loaded burger came with house sauce ,lettuce ,tomato , 2 pieces of pickle a slice of cheese and thin squashed over cooked piece of meat which was dry and tough. I would have been better going to MCDONALDS AND GETTING 2 BIG MAC MEALS which would have been tastier and cheaper . I cant see myself stepping over the threshold at this place again....

Esta cafetería estaba en nuestro camino, así que paramos. Y sí, sé que la mayoría de los clientes estaban interesados en sus tés, pero pedimos bebidas de café porque eso es en lo que este lugar suele especializarse. Estábamos contentos con el resultado.

Floor was filthy, had to ask for table to be cleaned, was given a cup with dried paint on the rim. No milk given with tea. Would have given a zero if it were possible.

Would rather eat from a bin. Infact, I would rather never eat again and die than dine at this place.

The food was amazing me and my boyfriend came here on a Sunday evening. We booked a table and arrived early, they were ready for us! The service was unbelievable. I have been an assistant manager in a chain restaurant and I would have employed everyone working that evening. I recommend the chi- town fries!

El servicio era bueno, pero la comida muy promedio. El asado del domingo era un pollo pre-porcionado, con papas y zanahorias mal hechas y un pudín seco de Yorkshire sobrecocido. La camarera me preguntó si todo estaba bien, y yo estaba poco entusiasmado, pero esto no tuvo ningún impacto. También había tres perros permitidos en las mesas cercanas, lo que es un gran no para mí.

Best ploughman's I ever had. Who knew it could be spread so well? Just this man. The plate Steve produces is second to none, and watch your step 🪜 as you probably never thought to finish the main combo with picallily x beetroot on your fork—save the last blue cheese and grapes for the final smidge of chutters. Never will have a winner like it. Absolute gold. 🏆

We visited for my husband‘s birthday. We were a table of five and arrived at 7 pm. On arrival. We were the only diners in the restaurant. Three other tables were occupied by the time that we left 9 pm. This was a sat night. The menu has changed fewer choices or maybe fewer fine dining choices. The signature dish seemed to be the steak either steak on the stone or cooked so we opted for steak. The menu even contains a little joke. “Don’t ask the chef to cook well or medium well “ I opted for medium rare so when it arrived, I struggled to find the pink meat. I also ordered some garlic bread for our daughters, it arrived smothered in cheese but no mention that it would have cheese both daughters don’t eat cheese . The waiting staff require additional training. A female server. Didn’t even apologise when I complained about my steak instead told me it would be a further 15 minutes for a new piece , that wouldn’t work as everyone else had been served. They would’ve been nearly finished when mine arrived. Her solution was to scrap the order all together, but I came to a restaurant to eat. That wasn’t a good solution, the senior server, or maybe the manager later came over and offered to compensate for the steaks and provided a discount, which is really good of him, the chips could’ve been triple cooked for that crispy restaurant feel they suspiciously look like they may have come out of a packet also . After we complained about the steaks, we didn’t receive any additional service. We had to request a desert menu, being gluten-free. I asked what was gluten-free on the menu. I was told nothing it’s not completely unusual but usually you’re offered either ice cream or sorbet. We had the feeling that we were no longer wanted so forfeited the deserts for our table of five, asked for the bill and left, one of our diners was in a wheelchair, no point did anyone offer to open the door so we navigate of the double doors ourselves and left disappointed . Positively the cocktails and the beers were delicious. My recommendation would be hire some staff that smile or are attentive, become a bar and do what you are good at. This used to be one of my husband’s favourite restaurants in Southend. I’m not sure will visit again though. Bad times!

This is a great place for a young child's birthday party, and the staff are very helpful when asked. A big improvement though, would to be greeted on arrival, or to have signs showing which area to go to for the party. It's a huge place, so would be better not to have keep asking for assistance. My son enjoyed the laser quest and bowling though, so overall an enjoyable day.

I don't see the point in coffee places when pubs exist. Go to a pub and have a pint. My girlfriend loves this place however. Great coffee she says, and good cakes.
