Roadhouse Blues in Dumfries & Galloway

Came a couple of times late August but forgot to review. So this is based on our October visit. A fabulous place with amazing food, friendly staff, great music and a lovely relaxed vibe. Came as a party of 5, food cooked fresh but didn’t take long at all. Had a giggle playing name that tune with the soundtrack. Will definitely return.

We loved this place, it was our first visit. Great menu with lots of choice, food was excellent. We couldn’t manage deserts but had milkshakes to go. Superb friendly service, it was a very busy Thursday night and the staff did their absolute best to give everyone great service. We will definitely return when in the area 🙌🙌🙌

Great food, great environment and decor, great value and really lovely staff. Eaten out every night and this was the best by far

We saw the name & had to go - the music did not disappoint! Amercian style dinner with a great chpice of food. t's a nice spot, well decked out with some suitable music memorabilia around the restaurant. Food was good - tested the chilli, skin on fries & onion rings as these are a good baseline. All passed with colours. We'll be back again when we are in the area.

Ordered BBQ spare ribs, waited forever for the food to be served. Sent ribs back as they were less than lukewarm! The second attempt was warmer, however only two thirds of the ribs came back! Very expensive dish - first visit and probably our last. Very Disappointing !

What a great little place, we visited here for lunch whilst on a weekend break at auchenliarie, as it is just along the road. The food was delicious, the price was reasonable and the service was amazing. We had our dog with us and it was a hot day, without asking they brought a bowl of water for her and a frozen dog treat for her to enjoy. Would recommend and will always revisit when I this area again.

Went as a couple to celebrate a birthday. On arrival a nice table with a birthday card and a couple of balloons, lovely touch. Was fairly busy but orders were taken promptly and the waitress was very nice. Food arrived in a timely manner and was exceptional. Well done the team it was a fantastic experience

This is a hidden gem.Great food the staff are so warm.and welcoming amd most importantly for us dog friendly. Cannot find fault with this lovely establishment great for all families, couples and their furry friends

Good food. Had the half ribs and the pork steak, which was grilled perfect. Tasted really good. Meal came with a small pot of baked beans which I thought was a bit odd. I thought maybe some kind of bbq beans or some kind of smokey beans. Not the end of the world. Service was fast and polite. No alcohol available due to not having a drinks license.

Highly recommend this as a stopover when the Old School Room is full. Decor is different, although theme is US most of stars on the back wall are British , food very good quality and well presented , staff very efficient.

Arrived with a 6 week old baby and a small dog. We could not have been made anymore welcome.The staff were excellent and the meal was great, We have often passed by this eatery as we visit the Smokehouse next door but from now we will be making sure we don’t pass by again. Well worth a visit if you have not tried it before. Highly recommended

We booked as we'd read reviews saying how popular Roadhouse Blues is. We'd definitely recommend booking to avoid disappointment. The food was great, the decor quirky and the playlist was spot on. Very dog friendly too. Our best meal of the week.

Ate here twice while on holiday. Had burgers, steak and ribs and also tomahawk pork chop. All delicious. Nice sides. Had dessert first visit, home made waffle, very nice. Really good value for the meals. Staff very friendly and lovely view towards the sea. We would really recommend.

This place is really different.I cannot say how much I enjoyed our visit to Roadhouse Blues. We had a large party and the staff ensured everything was as we requested. Great location as well with views over the Solway. Get down there to sample the wonderful food. You won’t be disappointed.

We had an amazing meal here last night (yet again). I ordered a burger, my mother ordered ribs and my dad had a tomahawk steak which we ended up sharing as it was HUGE. The portion sizes at Roadhouse are very generous. The quality of produce used is very good. Not your typical cheap burgers and gristly cuts of meat, this is the proper stuff. The burger was thick, firm and juicy, the ribs hadn't an ounce of fat on them and the steak was as tender as can be and cooked to Medium perfectly. Speaking of the steak, the Tomahawk would not have been on the menu on the night we arrived. However, on a previous visit we were told if we called a day in advance they would order in and prepare one for us. So we did ask them when we booked, and they obliged with no questions asked! The staff are always so friendly, happy to chat and always make a fuss of our dogs. I've seen several negative reviews of Roadhouse on here, I can only imagine they're written by rival businesses (strangely, none of them include pictures?!) as Roadhouse is easily the best food around and at a reasonable price, too. We had booked another meal for during our stay at a different restaurant, however we have given the back word and booked back in at Roadhouse for another evening!

We were so pleased to find this place having driven round for a long time trying to find somewhere open in the afternoon! We weren’t disappointed the food was really good - we had buffalo wings and fish and chips (the fish was really fresh and the batter was super crispy), and I had chicken with BBQ sauce. Definitely recommend eating here.

First visit since change of ownership and very pleased we did. Brilliant burgers - possibly the best ever had. The rustic fries, both plain and garlic & Parmesan were an excellent accompaniment. Very friendly staff and very good value. Would definitely recommend. Very interesting menu which included regular beef steaks and exotic meats like ostrich and kangaroo.

Very draughty cold table and unfortunately the ribs although covered in sauce the meat was so dry so we only ate half ….. such a shame as the menu looks nice just didn’t live upto expectations

We visited the Roadhouse today for our dinner, have driven past this restaurant several times and often wondered what it would be like. Today was the day we found out, it was lovely!! The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful, special thanks to Sophie who brought us our meal. She was super cheerful and attentive. The food was amazing, I chose the fish and my husband had the steak, both were served quickly and beautifully presented, they tasted amazing. 2 coffees and a desert later we left absolutely stuffed, but will definitely be back, not too expensive either and only a quick step off the A75 . Would definitely recommend

Seriously good food. Steaks and ribs were awesome. Desserts and milkshakes awesome. Kids were treated so well as we all were. Great music and decor. A brilliant dining experience not be missed. Been twice more since our first visit

Ordered a takeaway hot dog with fried onions, chewy hot dog large chunks of microwaved onions. Fish and chips FROZEN fish which was tasteless and terrible chips

Awful place, waited 23 minutes to be asked what we would like, my reply “a menu please!” Food awful, dirty breakfast plates on table next to us, used napkin on floor behind my chair, slugger burger tasteless and salad wilted, cheap coleslaw (not home made) been but would never go back, they say use local…. Not us!

ordered takeaway and we're still waiting on our food one hour and a half almost now since we ordered. an absolute disgrace to make customers wait that length of time. its frightening actually. I personally would have left after half an hour but I'm with hungry family members so got outnumbered. hopefully it arrives soon before we resort to cannibalism

My partner and I visited for lunch today and I am so glad we did. We arrived for 12 and upon entry felt very relaxed. I didn't catch the name of the man that welcomed us in but he was lovely. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the chargrilled chicken and my partner had the buffalo burger (along with pulled pork fries) everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Special shout out for the onion rings which where probably the best I've ever tasted. We feel very lucky to have such a great place so close to home. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu.

Fabulous eatery , amazing menu , wonderful service and the best steaks , burgers , fish and chips and desserts x been three times now over the last few months and found all the above to be very consistently good x well done

Found this lovely little restaurant on my travels on A75 and stopped in for some food which turned out to be a great decision! 6 of us in total, 4 adults 2 kids. Amazing variety on the menu and we all had something different. Every plate of food was excellent - tasty and well cooked. Sort of a home made feel to it with quality meats and sides. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend and will return when I am next in the area.

Visited last week for the first time with family and friends and was really impressed. A very friendly and welcoming place with a lovely atmosphere. Great choice on the menu and really tasty food, we ordered the lasagna and different types of burgers and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The milkshakes were a big hit with the kids! Will definitely be visiting again.

Great experience and a great taste of a midwest diner which you would not expect on the A75. The food was really well done and great value.

Give it a wide berth at all costs decor is overwhelming and awful taste there is just so much stuff and clutter it’s off putting cheap and tacky just like the food everyone seems overly nice to a fake standard over attention doesn’t hide bad food

Wasn’t going to write a review until I noticed I can’t comment on their Facebook page after eating here tonight has to be one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had asked for medium rare steak what was served was no better than shoe leather over cooked burned on the outside and don’t even ask about the macaroni it was dry as the Sahara added a blue cheese sauce and have never had one tablespoon of sauce ever as a sauce honestly will never eat here again rotten and very sly that they banned me from posting on their Facebook page shocking place.

Decided on the Slugger burger it was excellent cooked on a chargrill reminded us of our holiday in Florida. We will be back and will recommend to all our friends. Good value for money and very pleasant staff, music was good as well. Well done.

Quirky little food stop does what it says on the tin the pulled pork is really tasty slugger burger is a winner good food at a fair price will be back!

This was our first visit after following on Facebook and we weren't disappointed. We were instantly greeted with a smile with the service excellent throughout. Our steaks were beautifully cooked and the portion sizes meant you won't go home hungry. The chef even offered to add prawns for a Surf & Turf which were also excellent. The couple next to us had ordered the Tomahawk and said it was amazing. We'll definitely be back 👍

The ideal spot for freshly prepared American diner style food at a great price point. Good location just off the A75 and the staff service was impeccable. We really enjoyed the unique cuts of meat on offer. Will definitely be back!
