This is a great place for a young child's birthday party, and the staff are very helpful when asked. A big improvement though, would to be greeted on arrival, or to have signs showing which area to go to for the party. It's a huge place, so would be better not to have keep asking for assistance. My son enjoyed the laser quest and bowling though, so overall an enjoyable day.

Visited toddler session today children 3 and 10 months. Quite fantastic. Very clean very safe lovely staff they had great fun for over an hour. Just couldn’t fault in any way. We will certainly take again

We hadn't been here for quite a while due to covid, so decided to see if it was back up and running. The place is wonderful for families, ten pin bowling, roller skating and trampoline park. A good sized dining area (well spaced) and a bar with a reasonable choice. On this occasion, we only had drink's and a meal. Cocktails (two for the price of one was on offer, this might not always be the case), bottled beer (half a dozen to choose from) and also half a dozen on draught beers also on offer. We got a pizza and burgers, the burgers coming with chips, onion rings and salad (a good plate full). The pizza that didn't get fully eaten was taken home as they were happy to supply a box to transport it. The quality and value for money for the food was very good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and all covid compliant even though the restrictions had been eased via the government at this stage. An enjoyable family evening was had, we'll be back.

We were staying locally. Came here due to TripAdvisor reviews on the basis that it had some good kid's menu options for our 8-year old daughter and we like Mexican food. The actual restaurant was pretty empty which made us pause for thought. We waited quite a while for the food - over 30 minutes. When it came however, it was plentiful and very tasty. We all enjoyed our meals. The Chicken and Chorizo Grange was very spicy. The entertainment value watching my father-in-law manfully plough through it was worth the visit. Yes we would definitely go back.

Fantastic food and great service. The staff were very child friendly and the chefs were able to tailor dishes on the menu to suit allergens and vegans.

Visited with our two small children and friends, from Leeds, with their little girl, who's birthday it was. We had booked into Smoking Burritos before bowling. We'd been bowling here several times before, but never stopped for food. Food was great. Lots of non spicy food too. Children's meals were huge. They were just too excited to eat. We told the young girl working that it was our friends little girls birthday. She managed to sort us all out with balloon cutlas's and tied them up again at the end , when they had come loose. She was very accommodating to us throughout and very polite. I am coming back to eat and bowl next time. Bowling area tidy and comfortable and the guys working, were again, accommodating to the children and very polite. Would recommend this place.

We've been bowling and skating here before and we've really enjoyed it! Great place to keep the whole family entertained! There's a bar here too if you fancy a drink. Staff are friendly and it's really good fun! Definitely pay a visit if you're dropping by!

First of all, Trip Advisor seem to think this is a restaurant, but it's not, it's a leisure complex with roller skating, trampoline park, bowling alley etc. Of course you can get food there, but we didn't try it. We paid £34 for 2 adults and 2 children to go to the trampoline park for 1 hour. I just rated it 3/5 because we've been to more exciting trampoline parks with a greater variety of trampolines and jumps, but I'm guessing the children didn't notice this & they had a great time anyway. Also, I didn't think the staff were particularly helpful; no one volunteered any information & we had to ask about everything. We also tried one of the car rides in the amusement arcade & it was broken. Just small irritating stuff, but they could have done better. The place is located in a light industrial estate near Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham. Easy to get lost, so I recommend to set the sat nav !

5th March went bowling first then a meal what a nice afternoon to relax 2 days in a row does it get any better bowling was great food was nice but not great Starters Southern fried chicken pieces sweet chilli sauce £4.50 Mains Char grilled rump steak £13.55 truly not a very good piece of meat it was ok, cooked ok but disapointing for the price it was a good afternoon out bowling £17.85 definatley not a cheap day out plus drinks would we go again, yes but we would take a packed lunch (joke)

Roller rink. Bowling alley. Aerial course and more... Food in restaurant is good. Bar menu very restricted. Fantastic large room upstairs for all kinds of events. Brilliant staff - all great with kids and really helpful

Not sure where the piccy came from but this is somewhere to get frozen, re-heated food whilst waiting for the kids to play. Ok but defo DEFO not somewhere to "eat out"

Have been here for bowling and it is a nice place to have a game. Reasonably priced and nice for Newton Aycliffe. I have been to the karaoke rooms too and they were fun. :)

Nice function room with large disco ball in the dance room largers not many nice ones they had no brandy or rum on our visit the venve was ok but with seating in one room and dancing next door didnt see most of the people who came as they stayed in the seated area only 2 toilets for our funtion room which were unisex so towards the end off the night seats up pee on seats staff poor with keeping them clean food was ok that they supplyed just very early brining hot food out by at least an hour. Staff friendly would not use this place again think it is more for younger crowds

Fantastic venue for all ages, they offer a range of fab activities and great food in their restaurant! My sister had her birthday in the karaoke booth- recommend you do more than an hour as the time flies we had that much fun we were gutted we didn't book 2 hours.

Visited the bowling alley for a family fun evening of bowling, then into Smokin Burritos for dinner. The menu was great, lots to choose from including gluten free. Service was great, the waitress was very helpful. The portions are large, good value for money everything freshly cooked. I've been here a few times and not one person has managed a 3 course meal and we are good eaters! We took advantage of the Sunday night special which was 2 courses for £11.95 and worth every penny. Would definately recommend we will be visiting again soon.

To be fair, we visited for the bowling not the restaurant mid week but decided to eat. There were no other customers and no staff could be found at first so we had to go hunting for them. Once someone came we ordered a selection of mexican food and burgers and were surprised how nice the food was. I guess if you went on a Friday or Saturday night, there would be more people eating so the atmosphere would be different. For an inexpensive mexican meal, it is worth a visit but don't expect to enjoy the venue for it's own sake.

enjoyed the bowling but if you want to eat there I suggest the smoking burrito restaurant than the bar area food/

Went here on Wednesday night with 3 friends, was 2 for 1 on bowling, so each paid roughly 2.50 for 1 game. Great night, only criticism with the bowling side is that there isn't much room to move when sitting and waiting turn as sofa as the choice of seating. Went for food in the restaurant on one again 2 for 1prices reflect this on menu, desserts £7. 3 of us had the wild west chicken, it was delicious good portion and red hot, since 2 for1 had to have a dessert, Belgian waffle for me, one Eaton mess, hot brownie and another waffle. Including soft drinks, 2 courses, game of bowls for £15 ish. Was a great night and looking forward to going again soon.

I've had server all of my daughters birthdays here. Well priced, good variety of things to do. Food cooked fresh. Staff friendly

a fabulous night was had by all, we visited as a party of 15 for a staff night out and this place was great. The staff, the food the whole package. Andy served us in the restaurant and he was an absolute delight!!!! food was amazing and well worth the money and the activities a bargain we would definatley visit again.....

This place just smells of stale chip fat and sweaty socks, its great for the kids but food wise its a dog hole -

Fancied a change this year and we booked Planet Leisure for New Years Eve..... We have a number of children in the party so we thought this would be great for them. So the evening comprised of the following roller skating, bowling, karaoke and laser quest.There was a buffet consisting of Mexican style food, chilli con Carny, fried chicken, salad, roast chicken strips chips rice etc etc.... The food was superb!! Hence the number of visits to the food table.... Oh and then the deserts.. Great !!The disco was good there were plenty of staff on hand to assist if required. What a way to end 2015 and kick off 2016.......Very good evening

A brilliant place for family, friends or couples which is well presented, with everything you need !! You can have parties there and the comedy nights are fantastic. Having tried the food several times both in the bar area and also in the dedicated Mexican restaurant, I can personally recommended eating there too !! It can be a little tricky to find but it's definitely worth the trip.

Nice decor and reasonable prices but disappointed with the food. Sharing platter to begin which was standard frozen onion rings chicken bites etc. Then had over flowing plate of chips chimichanga which was very bland. Good night bowling but will skip restaurant next time and just have chips in the bar.

I came for my birthday and once again I wasn't disappointed!! AMAZING staff all friendly and all willing to help with whatever they can! The staff that served me were Stella, Chloe, Nic, Alex, Lorna and Joseph and they were all great and really friendly! The food was OUT of this world once again (by far my favourite place to go for a meal! Drinks were a great price as was the food, Highly recommended place to go! perfect for a family day, celebration, night out with friends and a date night! Couldn't speak more highly of everyone there and the place it's self! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE

Me and my partner visited before the date above and they had ice skating (which I did a few years previous here). Which although its a synthetic rink it is alot of fun! Especially with the lights and music on!Bowling is great and reasonable price.I also did the aerial trekking and realised I was a tad scared of heights but fun all the same!Drinks are good and we had some chips which were nice.Prices are reasonable and car parking makes it easily accessible.Yet to try the lazer quest

Great fun at planet leisure, we go now and again for a game of bowling and afterwards myself and my partner usually get a seat next to the arcade, which isnt too big but there are candy floss machines and games which entertains the little one,The entertainment side is great and the staff are all friendly but the food isn't really all that great if I'm honest, however its good for the kids!

The boys went on the skating rink and to laser quest , thoroughly enjoyed both and we have been back for more laser quest . Only thing to say is don't wear your best clothes for the skating rink as it's artificial and goes all over clothing

Visited planet leisure wedensday 5th August with the family. We had a enjoyable game of bowling the decided to have something to eat in the restaurant, when we got to the restaurant we were told of a delay on the food up to half an hour, but we stayed and the food only took twenty minutes to arrive and the four of us all enjoyed our meals. The service from the waitress was very good

Had to wait about an hour for are main meal and 15 mins for three kids ice creams.Two adults and three kids on a Saturday dinner time with only two other tables in the whole restaurant very poor service God know what it would be like when it's busy

A funtastic venue for bowling, laser quest, high ropes, roller skating, karaoke and kids parties, though food quality can vary, you may come out deaf and current menu is too limited.

Best food we have had, cant be beaten by ANY aycliffe food venues. Service from the guy in Smokin burrito was great. SUPER

It's a leisure facility. Don't eat there. It's fried. It's fast food. We did not like it. If you wait for you kids get a coffee. Eat elsewhere.On positive note - lovely service and clean place.

My partner and I decided to go bowling then a meal after. The food was amazing way too much for me to finish all freshly made and tasted amazing! Great selection on the menu and all reasonably priced. Friendly staff well worth a return visit will be coming back again.

We visited here after laser quest and bowling and to be honest I didn't have high expectations. I typically thought it would be a fast food type of place... I was massively surprised! The food was amazing, every dish we choose wAs superb. I would 100% go back here with my partner, purely to eat in here. Couldn't rate it enough

Took the family for a game and meal package, had a great time staff where friendly and very helpful, we all had an enjoyable game of bowling during which time our tables were being prepared by the time the bowling was finished we were led straight to our tables and had a a wonderful meal, highly recommend it good food and value for money, a very pleasant evening was had by all

We went bowling and decided to pop in for Food and it was amazing Massive portions, very attentive friendly staff, booked for us and 12 friends the day after

Food is of good quality standard and is reasonably priced. Well worth a burger after you've finished your bowling

Smoking burritos hidden inside planet leisure is easily the best place to eat in aycliffe. It serves fresh Mexican food that has to be tried to be believed. The homemade burgers are my favourite. The pulled pork is exceptional. Try anything and everything you won't be disappointed. The prices are incredible I cannot believe this place is not packed 24/7

Really helpful staff. We all enjoyed a couple games of bowling. Only bad point was the bar food menu.

Took the kids to the family fun day in aid of Cash for Kids. The event was free between 11-3pm and everyone could skate for free, there was free face painting, etc. everyone had really good time and it wasn't over packed with people. We ordered some food which ha certainly improved, tasty, fresh and well presented. Cost of drinks and meal was reasonable which made for a cheap but really fun day. Hopefully it made money for charity too.

The place is always busy and the staff do their best.Its ok for an hour of bowling, somtimes it takes a while for the food to arrive.Wayne

We had a room upstairs for an adult family party and I was impressed. place was clean and staff very approachable and friendly. We did not use the restaurant but we will be back as can see there are so many fun ways to spend time here with the family. Bowling, ice rink and aerial walkway. Food and drink reasonably priced. Less expensive option to Hollywood bowl and intend to try very soon

We went with extended family and it would be our secon visit to Smokin' Burrito's. The food was very nice and plentyful but there was quite a wait for it to arrive (although I don't mind if the food is good).Value for money is good especially if you combine it with bowling etc and get a package deal.I would recommend and will definately return!

Went for a Mexican meal to Smoking burritos with the family on a Sunday , late afternoon. Restaurant was not busy. Only 4 others tables occupied. Ordered and got drinks, several drinks later we were still waiting for our food. 1 hour later the food finally arrived. Food ok but waiting 1 hour with two children spoilt the experience. Food was ok but not worth the wait!!

Just had a tasty meal courtesy of a groupon voucher. We will def be back as the food was tasty, plentiful and staff friendly. We have visited planet leisure numerous times and always found the food nice but the new tex mex menu is great

I was amongst a group who booked two alleys for bowling, followed by a table for 15 in the restaurant. For a Thursday at 5.00 pm there was a mix of families and kids parties which gave the place a good atmosphere. Although there is now only the Mexican menu, some dishes from the original evening menu are still available. Everyone's meals were served quickly with one exception and we received an apology for the confusion and delay. The portions were generous and everyone agreed the food was really tasty. It does seem strange that the kitchen isn't next to the restaurant but it didn't spoil our food, not piping hot but certainly not cold. There seemed to be plenty of staff and they were all very pleasant.

I should have taken note of the warning signs when trying to order drinks while we were bowling - it just seems to take their staff ages to accomplish anything.We were seated in the 'Smokin Burrito' after initially being ignored at the front desk of the restaurant.The restaurant was cold and by no means busy (8pm Friday).Signs were good initially, drinks order was taken and delivered quickly. BUT THE WAIT FOR THE FOOD WAS RIDICULOUS!When challenged about the length of time, the female duty manager curtly responded 'it's only been 20 minutes!' - it had actually been nearly 40 minutes and eventually took 50.The shame is that the food wasn't all that bad - but the chips were all pretty luke warm - as was my chicken burger.For a nearly £60 night out, we expected more - and not least a little courtesy from the manager.There is no point in making the place look nice if you can't match it with service.I don't think I will be going back any time soon.

Excellent place to go in Newton Aycliffe pointless to travel to Middlesbrough when you have a place like this nearby 'knocking it out the park'Staff were friendly and the new mexican restaurant is really good value with tasty food! It matches any of the chains pound for pound. The only problem i had was the kitchen seems a long way from the Mexican restaurant which was quite cold. It doesnt quite fit together as a restaurant yet. But that will take time. The only other small problem was a chef wasnt keen to serve a group of 8 when it was quiet on a Tuesday night at 8pm. Overall a great place which deserves more advertisement!

We often go to planet leisure for family activities. Went again for a Christmas outing with family to bowl and eat in the New Mexican restaurant. As usual we had a great time and it is a great facility. The food in the restaurant was good and service was relatively quick for the venue. Kids love the place. Only niggle would be that experience tells me that there are never enough staff on duty, if this was fixed it would be perfect but we will still go back.

I was sadly dissapointed with the food service at planet leisure. After waiting nearly an hour for our food the order was wrong and the food tasteless and luke warm. When we complained about the ridiculous ammount of time taken by the kitchen we were dismissed by the young staff who had no idea on how to handle a complaint. Whilst we waited patiently we watched half our order sit on the side whilst the chef served a member of staff her lunch. As a chef myself I found this to be inappropriate and I was concerned about food safety as the member of staff was wearing her coat in the food service area. Possibly a good place to work but not great if you are a customer as the staff are not very well trained and the food qualiy and service was dire. Won't be going back.

Had a great time at planet leisure there's lots to do and we enjoyed it the only problem was one member off staff behind the till serving bowling and drinks which took ages to be served

Just returned from a LAZER party for my grandsons 8th birthday. It was excellent. All the kids really enjoyed it and the Dads did too! Pizza and chips meal suited all and was plentiful. Go for it.

Although we didn't eat at planet leisure we had a great time. We did bowling and aerial trekking. I thought the aerial trekking was going to be easy but then when i stepped up to get my harness on I became really nervous. The aerial trekking obstacle is above the ice skating rink, so you are right above the skaters. You are secured to your harness and cant fall any lower than the obstacle. Your harness runs on a track above you and you can keep hold at all times. This is great for all ages. It does get really warm when you are going round so a vest/tshirt is appropriate. The aeriel trekking instructor gives you a health and safety talk before you go on. If at all you get stuck he/she can come and rescue you. You get a full hour on here but can come off if you have enough. Really enjoyed the bowling as well.

The place is a leisure facility (bowling, laser quest, skating, aerial tracking etc.) but has a licenced restaurant which serves, what on first look is American food, very tasty and well prepared meals.For example the burger is actually a juicy burger with molten cheese served in sun-dried tomato bread. The Tex-Mex for one in the 'lite bites' section of the menu is really big enough for two people. Food is good value for money and portion sizes are good.
