Inferno BBQ in Mendip

Would rather eat from a bin. Infact, I would rather never eat again and die than dine at this place.

Visited restaurant and was instantly under whelmed on entrance not just the Food Rating score of 4 but by interrupting the staff in conversation at the bar being surprised by customers entering their establishment. A uniform would be good to distinguish them. The atmosphere is cold and doesn’t not give the air of a BBQ joint you can’t see the kitchen so there is no drama of the kitchen smoke and flames The decor is okay though rather beige and bronze and was clean though sparse Had nachos to start which essentially was nachos sprinkled with cheese and warmed followed by a couple of burgers which were very good. I love guacamole but really not sure what I received was olive green with strange taste and texture - out of a bottle and not home made shame. Had to ask for cutlery as not provided with meal which was odd.

Friendly service but unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered some starters which arrived in mini metal baskets (2005 style) but with no plates or cutlery. Our main courses arrived cold, cold chips, and cold side orders. I ordered a well done steak and sadly it arrived stone cold rare fresh out of the freezer. The drinks selection looked interesting with a few interesting US options but all sadly not available. I would recommend avoiding this place until the management get their act together.

We visited and the staff just don’t seem to know what there doing there was one inperticular that just seemed to be there for the fun times she was rude and immature and didn’t seem like she even wanted to be there let alone serve us and she certainly wasn’t quiet when she was bad mouthing the boss to other members of staff in front of the customers such an appalling lady I think one person called her jessie , the food itself wasn’t too bad when it eventually made it out to us however our experience was just ruined by this young lady and her attitude to work I think she needs to seriously think about if she wants to be there or if the boss wants some one like that working there, we were travelling to see friends and this meal really did spoil what was a lovely week away such a horrid girl .

I ordered Inferno for a birthday treat for myself and my Wife. All I can say is after over 1 hour 30 minute wait getting our order wrong and the food we received via delivery was cold I will never order from there ever again. Absolutely shocking!!

We called a number of times to book a table for dinner with friends..... no answer to numerous attempts to contact the restaurant, so we booked online, at least 7 days before the day in question. The night before we were due to go we received a text saying that our booking was cancelled. Again called continually for about an hour with no answer. We just wanted an explanation of the short notice of cancellation but to no avail. Customer service is extremely lacking. We have been a couple of times in the past, recommending it to many people but will now not be returning. Very disappointing.

We ordered a takeaway family meal platter but only the meat parts turned up. We phoned to complain. They refunded the missing parts but wouldn't do anything else, even when pushed. Choices were serve only meat or make our own sides with, by then, cold meat. Not impressed. Meat was OK. Lady on the phone was polite and helpful but ultimately the "manager" had the final say and they didn't seem to care.

Ordered takeaway from just eat from INFERNO BBQ not impressed hot dog was warm and burger way over cooked unfortunately since eating my husband has become unwell mild food poisoning very disappointed as the meal for 2 was NOT CHEAP money wasted and I’ll Over Xmas due to food

We had a meal , was very expensive , food was nice with good presentation but no " wow " factor , glad we tried it once ,

We went for a meal today and was very disappointed. We had a sharing platter for starters and felt that the food was nothing special and that it was quite tasteless. It tasted like it had come from a freezer shop and just warmed up. We then had a burger and that was red in the middle and not fully cooked through. We could have asked for it to be done further but we both had the impression this would have been frown upon. The milkshake wasn’t thick and was just like a glass of milk with a bit of sauce and whipped cream added. The waitress however was pleasant enough. I wouldn’t go back.

An excellent meal with charming service. We especially liked the wings and the bbq beans but everything was good and reasonably priced. Milkshakes were yummy. Draft beer would be nice.

The food and service was fantastic! So many UK BBQ places make the food sweet but this place has established the perfect balance of smoke and spice. We had the Californian ribs, Texan wings and chilli fries (filled with loads of beans) and it was great! So easy to overlook as it’s hidden away but it’s such a great find.

I was expecting a really good tasty meal going by the reviews but sadly I was not overly impressed. I opted for the special brisket burger with loaded fries. More chips than I have eaten in ages, but the burger lacked any seasoning or flavour and the brisket wasn’t even hot. I thought it included beer onions and blue cheese Mayo but neither were present. Service was very friendly and the place was clean. I will give it another visit in a while and try something like the ribs perhaps.

I had a yearning for bbq and was visiting Ely this weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed my half rack of pork ribs which came with chips, onion rings and salad which was very filling at a reasonable price. The waitress was very welcoming and eager to pease. I also enjoyed a glass of excellent Sauvignon Blanc. It would have been nice if other bbq meats such as pulled pork, beef ribs and brisket were available on their own.

Found this place while wondering around Ely looking for something to eat. Now me being a lover of BBQ food I thought to try it. My fiancee is not so keen. Yet after some light persuasive arguing we went in. The staff are friendly without being overly so. After ordering (ribs and loaded fries for me, the alkatraz burger for my fiancee). We had the usual wait and after about 20 mins the food arrived and wow. Best ribs I have had in a long time and Lisa said the same about the burger. Nice sized portions too as some BBQ places load up on quantity to disguise the fact your eating rubbish. Really nice and recommended
