We were at Brecon for the day, so we decided to call in to morrisons cafe for a cuppa and a bite to eat.
Unfortunately there was no hot food available due to a problem, nevertheless you could have sandwiches and cakes etc,
The wonderful Adam who was behind the counter was so helpful and very kind when I asked if I could purchase some porridge from the store and eat in the cafe, which he said would be fine.
Adam was very polite and supplied me with oat milk ( amazing) as a lot of the cafes, Greggs being one of them had "run out" of oat and soya milk earlier.
We had our food then realised our parking ticket was due to expire, and I still had my cup of tea to drink.. I asked if I could have a paper cup as I saw some by the coke machine, Adam asked me if I was taking it out, and supped me with a disposable cup for hot drinks , what a lovely, kind person ..A Credit to morrisons ..
Thank you again, Adam, for such perfect customer service 👏 🥰
We visited whilst on our way down to Builth Wells. A family of 8. Food was fabulous very tasty. Staff extremely friendly and worked very fast to serve our Sunday lunch. Very large portions and a huge bowl of cauliflower cheese unfortunately only one of our party liked that so a lot went to waste. We would definitely recommend!
Diolch yn fawr/thank you very much
we went out for a family meal we ordered our drinks and food but the landlord was so incredibly rude and made us feel not welcome that we ate our meal which was not good we just left we shall not be returning think the landlord needs go learn sum manners
Good quality drinks and good service. More options for wine would be beneficial for future visits. Decor such as tables were a bit worn. The quality and value with regards to food was very good.
The welcome from Dan and his staff is unsurpassable.
The variety of drinks is immense! Real ales, wine, cocktails ☺️you really can't ask for more.
Food:
Wide ranging menu, I have never had a bad meal. Home cooked food at it's finest and the chips!!
Definitely something for everyone.
Personally, I think the welcome is out of this world, I can't think of a better place to have a drink or spend the evening having a meal. The setting is homely, welcoming and the staff are so,so welcoming. The Monday night quiz is hilarious and open to everyone, friends and visitors.
Thank you Dan and and the Angel staff
As always, the welcome and the food were second to none. We enjoyed a delicious and relaxed dinner with visiting family and local friends. Our go to place.
The barista lady with pink hair is very very rude towards customers, that is so unprofessional. She is judgy and doesn’t help people to feel comfortable, she almost yelled at us trying to explain our needs in non-native (but not so bad, I assure you) English . Perhaps she was mad because she was alone in the establishment but it is not our problem.
We are staying in the area and have just had the steak and Guinness pie here at The White Lion Hotel.
It is the best steak pie we have found in the area....proper homemade pie, rammed full of tender meat with not a piece of fat or gristle in sight!
We are pie eating experts and this has gone to the top of our list!
Kudos to the chef 👨🍳 👏
Bloomin' scrummy!
Thank you 😊
I ordered a takeaway in store and was told it would be 5-10 minutes. 25 minutes later, having watched the chaos of the takeaway/delivery section and food. sat on the side for 10-15 minutes going cold, I was given my food.
Sure enough, I get home (a five minute drive) and everything is stone cold and needed microwaving. I phoned the store that night to see if the Duty Manager could help but he advised me to email Nandos directly. I received a prompt but pitiful response that only acknowledged the wait not the cold food and a woeful voucher off. I challenged the offer and was told it was to “go towards a more positive experience”.
Sorry Nandos, you won’t have the chance. I will just cook at home and save my money on what is simply over priced flavoured chicken and chips.
I had the Mediterranean dips choice, I am not joking to say there was one teaspoon of each dip couple of olives and half a slice of bread very poor for the price. Staff were lovely but need to look at your serving portions !For this reason I will not be visiting again!
Friendly and excellent service today in the cafe. Single person cooking and serving but her attention and customer service was first class, excellent. Food was good and cooked fresh.
Very disappointed.☹️ dull boring deserted public bar. No prices displayed as required by law. THERE WAS A REASON.
SHANDY £5.90 PER PINT
Another pub on corner of Bridge St only £3.60, and much more lively atmosphere.
Choice of Thai or English menus in a roomy bar area with a small choice of beers. Pleasant service and the Thai dishes we had were very good - but it was clear that you have to book even if a resident in the hotel, and they do seem to severely limit the number of people able to eat at any one time and are very slow preparing the meals.
