Was staying in brecon for the weekend and came upon this pub as it was opposite where we were staying. Went in on a Sunday afternoon, as we wanted a Sunday lunch, but unfortunately they had finished doing their dinners, but informed me they were doing evening meals at 6pm so we booked for the evening. The food d was fabulous, had the lasagne, and for dessert we had the lemon and lime cheesecake, which was the best I have ever tasted, was informed it was homemade too. Friendly staff, and also dog friendly. Will definitely return, and make sure I book for the Sunday lunch, which is advisable, as the smell was delicious when you entered the premises. A gem of a pub.

It's so lovely to finally be able to go to a restaurant that you know are understanding of allergens. The chef really knows his menu and the ingredients in it. I really wanted the moules marinere as I hadn't been able to have them since I discovered my dairy intolerance. However I also have an intolerance to eggs and it said it had eggs in the dish. The chef advised it was only on the bread so we switched out the bread and boom I had yummy moules marinere. Portions are massive (too big for me but I'm always happy to go home with a doggy bag), food is good quality and yummy. The interior design is relaxing and cosy. I highly recommend. We'd love to see a gluten free beer on tap in the future. But they do have a few in bottles. We live fairly far away but we'll be sure to return whenever we're in the area.

Good quality drinks and good service. More options for wine would be beneficial for future visits. Decor such as tables were a bit worn. The quality and value with regards to food was very good.

I’ve got to say this is the BEST hotel and restaurant we have EVER been to! Stunning rooms, patios and outside grounds. Everything in the room looks brand new, fantastic decor, furniture, beds, bedding and amazing bathroom and shower. Fantastic service and food in the restaurant, with fires, sofas and the most polite and helpful waiter. Each meal was amazing and the desserts likewise. Dog and children friendly! The zoo was a fantastic addition for my teens and I understand they’d done a Halloween event with smaller creatures earlier in the day. Shame my kids weren’t little again! Every member of staff is very welcoming and friendly. And will 100% be returning. Have already posted pics for family and friends recommending this place, Worth every penny. Can’t wait for breakfast tomorrow :)

It's just a really naff kebab. Maybe I'm spoilt but I expected a naan bread with meat, salad and sauce inside it rather than a depressed DIY pitta bread.

Lovely location with ample parking on site. The room was OK, warm and welcoming, but the mold in the bathroom really needs addressing. Breakfast was great and they cater for gluten free which is always a huge plus for me. Great for a quick stop over for work.

Really tasty food! Great chips and brilliant fish to batter ratio. There is sometimes a wait if they have a rush on, but that's because it is cooked fresh.

They treat their staff pretty badly, as well as insane prices for pretty mediocre food.

Visited twice for lunch and dinner. Home cooked food was excellent. Great atmosphere and great service. Good selection of drinks. It’s what pubs should be ! We’d definitely visit again.

Not regarding the store but the Store Manager (if that's what you can call her) She's extremely prejudice towards people who are neurodivergent. This may seem bias but ask yourself why do staff keep leaving? Is it because they are expected to start early and finish late but not paid for it? Or is it that, they don't give out breaks so when you ask, she'd shocked and hurt by the message regarding it? Or maybe it's the constant persistence in calling neurodivergent people sloe and saying that because of any issues with health at all, they aren't fit for the job. Your attitude is disgusting, you are a despicable person and I feel sorry for the staff you step on who work under you. You don't have staff because of you. You are the problem. You kept my partner on for the festival and as soon as it's not busy, you get rid of him. I can understand if he isn't fit for the job, but to bully his neurodivergence and constantly belittling and calling him slow?

This Pub gives easy access to the waterfalls by a gated path towards the Pyrddin River , so is an ideal spot for your meals &refreshment . After our walk , we ate salads here , followed by apple pie & custard , which were excellent . The staff are friendly, which is one of the hallmarks of people in general in rural Wales . The setting of the Pub has a good car park , & I imagine it is popular with many visitors who come to see the waterfalls . Highly recommended .
