The Knighton hotel is directly in Knighton town. The rooms are great, nice and clean. The staff are very welcoming. Although the one bog upside is the shared kitchen, it has all the essential tools.

The lady behind the counter was welcoming and friendly. Had a real nice pizza from there whilst out on Saturday night. And it wasn’t just nice because I was drunk. My mate took his home and warmed it up the day after and said it was just as nice as it was the night before! 🤣🤣
Despite arriving an hour before the cafe was due to close, most tables were marked as reserved and the staff were packing away around us. The only food available was a soggy sausage roll or a tired looking pasty. My coffee was ok. The toilets were tired and access was via a dark corridor with a nasty slope. My advice would be to avoid and pop next door and have a really nice ice cream served by staff who care.
.Bought 2 pasties just before closing time. Had one warmed up in the Microwave and it remained nice and crispy. The meat and vegetable filling were delicious. We shared an incredible apple and raspberry turnover. Would definitely return if in the area again
Well, what a surprise, it is never certain how a place will measure up even if the reviews look great, cannot agree with a recent negative posting, was the poster somewhere else? Last night 18/04 we enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Penycae Inn, from the minute we walked in we were warmly greeted by smiling friendly staff, what an asset that is to have a team all on board with delighting their customers, it is exceptionally rare to see that applying to ALL the staff team. Anyway, we chose 2 Beef Rib and 1 Linguine, plates arrived HOT, portions generous and well presented, taste of the rib beef with the jus quite stunning really. The owners and staff team should be very proud of what they all achieved last night. A generous tip was obviously deserved. Very highly recommended indeed. Thank you.

Disgusting practice for a food place.
Honestly amazing, the lady running the show couldn't do enough for our group and she is a machine running three businesses. The food was staples done really well and definetly try the home baked cakes.
Just returned from a short stay at Hay on Wye and visited this cafe every day! Really friendly staff, fantastic coffee and we also treated ourselves to a slice of carrot cake on our last day which was divine!
We looked at the menu and there were lots of lovely things that we could have had if we were staying for breakfast or lunch. A good excuse to go back!
Nice lunch, but a bit expensive. Guinness and beef pie with chips and peas. Lots of meat but had one of those puff pastry lids out of a freezer. Ordinary frozen peas and about 12 chips that wouldn’t fill your eye. Tasted good but not worth £15.
That’s the trouble with posh towns like Crickhowell. Too many tourists with too much money.
Worth £8 at a push and no more.
Always great food at The Blue Bell. Chef tonight was Dan, and great food. I had for starter homemade soup, and mine was burger with new potatoes. 10/10, thank you.
