We call here every year for breakfast on the way to our holiday destination. It's supposed to be a treat but each year it's got worse. We won't be returning. It's the coldest store and therefore cafe that I've every visited and I presume this is why the food is stone cold too. It's dirty, unwelcoming, not great food and certainly not value for money any more.

We arrived at about 9am for breakfast, my husband requested a full breakfast and I requested 2 slices of white toast, I was advised that they had no white bread. I said you are joking your a supermarket so no toast. When my husband full breakfast arrived about 25 minutes later and it was quite we saw that there was no mushrooms, I advised the girl who said they had no mushrooms. So we didn’t get what we paid for. I would advise everyone not to go here this is the second time we’ve been here and the food was not good. NEVER GO HERE.

The service was friendly and helpful but that's the only good thing I can say about it. We both wanted fish and chips but there was only one fish left and when it arrived it was overcooked and dry and the chips were overcooked too. My friend's breakfast was ok though.

I have always rated Morrisons Newtown but my experience this time was the worst I have ever had. On arrival helped myself to a pot of tea and headed for the till to order my meal. Asked for fish and chips. Sorry no fish and chip ? Ok Steak pie them please Sorry no steak pie Heck what's happening here today ? Ok I will have a burger then Sorry we are not doing burgers today. Really? How about braised beef then ? Sorry not got that either. We can do sausage and mash ! No let's just forget it ( at this point a lady shouts out it's because we have no staff ) This was a Wednesday lunch time around 1.30. Basically they only had breakfast items. The cafe at this store is usually excellent. Not sure what has gone wrong. While the lady said that were short staffed there seemed to be at least three people working. So I left hungry but stopped at Aberystwyth who also had no fish and chips but did have my second choice. It seems to me that standards are falling at Morrisons since the Americans have taken over.

Absolutely shocking the food was cold, we waited nearly 45 minutes for food to arrive at the table, most of the empty tables were covered with dirty trays plates and cups, actually watched a couple cleaning there own table, such a shame as it used to be a lovely cafe and food in the previous months we had used it.

Visited Morrisons cafe after a terrible experience at Mid Wales airfield cafe where the staff were rude. Couldn’t have been more different. I was with 7 motorcyclists. We were made to feel very welcome, had COVID rules explained to us (from England, but in Wales) in a polite way. Food was brought to our table and the staff members made double sure we had what we needed. Food was hot and tasty. The cafe team were great and made up for our bad experience earlier. Thank you

We called at our local Morrisons in Welshpool on a Sunday especially to try the Christmas dinner but were told they did not have any turkey. So disappointed we rang Newtown and were told it was on their menu. The staff were extremely charming and the cafe was spotless. All COVID regulations were in place and adhered to. Our order for the Christmas special arrived promptly and it was piping hot. The portion size was large, had a great choice of ingredients and well cooked. The pudding that followed was very generous and you had several options to choose from. The only slight criticism was the quality of the turkey but what 2 course meal can you get for £5.99? We will certainly go again before Christmas, hopefully to welshpool and highly recommend it to our friends.

My husband and I frequently go here for breakfast. They use real ingredients i.e. Eggs are actually eggs. While we normally go for breakfast, my husband recently had a fish fry from there that he thoroughly enjoyed. I've heard lots of people around town who also enjoy the food there and was just recently told that I should try their scampi. Bottom line great food and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this cafe.

I stopped off in Newtown to break up a very long and tedious drive from North Wales down to Llandrindod Wells. The original plan was to stop at McDonald's for breakfast but by chance I discovered that there's a Morrisons just up the road from McD's which has a cafe. The prospect of a full cooked breakfast easily won over the prospect of a McMuffin. I arrived just after 9am on a midweek morning to find virtually no queue (great for me!) and a quiet cafe. I ordered a big breakfast with extra toast and a coffee and took my seat. The food arrived promptly and whilst you're never going to get the best breakfast of your life in a supermarket it was fine and there was enough food to properly set me up for the day. My only quibble was that the breakfast came with fried bread rather than toast, and I'm not a fan of fried bread, so I had to pay extra for toast. Maybe a choice of either toast or fried bread would be a better option?

Service a little slow even though the place didn't look exactly busy. Table was a little dirty and there were tables with dirty plates on that sat there for at least 45 minutes. Food cheap and cheerful but nothing special

Good coffee and snacks. Ideal for quick breakfast, lunch with Fish and Chips, Lasagne and pies being amongst our favourite. I like sitting in restaurant with a toasted teacake and a newspaper whilst my wife does her weekly shopping.

This place is always busy which is a good indication of how popular it is. The menu caters for everybody and you can get small portions for smaller appetites and of course a children's menu. I had fish and chips which was first class and would go so far as to say the best I've tasted in the area, the fish was succulent and the batter crispy and fresh (no cloying smell of oil that needed changing). My husband had a small all day breakfast and said it was excellent. Beats it's rival up the road and is also about £5 cheaper. One small criticism - the chairs were a bit hard and for me and were uncomfortable on the back of my legs, so some tie cushions would be great. Well done Morrisons, would most certainly go again.

First time at the Morrisons cafe since it's refurbishment, and it's very homely. I had the Big Breakfast, which was probably the best I've had at a Morrisons. It was great value, perfectly cooked and not at all greasy. Great brunch to start the day. Really impressed.

Eating here on Saturday afternoon, was an absolute pleasure!! Although the queueing process is a little tedious, when the food arrives, it is more than a match for any cafe establishment in town! You get exactly what is described on the menu, and the portions definitely offer good value for money. I ordered a main, and a pudding, and they both delivered TENFOLD. More than happy to go and do a bit of shopping, and then enjoy a great cafe lunch afterwards. It is also incredibly busy, so you may have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it's worth it if you're peckish. After some hit and miss occasions, this cafe really seems to have the right blend of quality, staff and menu choice now. The pleasure was all mine .

Don't expect anything special here. Some of the staff are on the ball and try to keep the others up to speed but unfortunately they can't. The coffee machines don't always work and sometimes the machines need attention. The fish and chips are great I must admit. Most of the food is reheated in a microwave oven as it is far too hot. The children's meals are always steaming hot and piled up on the plate so you can't even spread it out to cool. Ok.

What a dark and dingy place this is! It's pitch dark in there! As I went in for a drink a man came out and asked me if I had a torch! On buying a pint I understood what he was on about, you don't need a torch you need a SEARCHLIGHT! IN MY 73 YEARS IVE NEVER BEEN IN SUCH A DARK PLACE! Like most people my age I have fading eyesight, doesn't the Owner realise this or doesn't he/she care? On going to the toilet I banged my head on a low beam, good job I have a good head of hair or i'd have had a nasty bump on my head! I am considering contacting Powys Health and Safety re - the matter. A man with a sore head!

Lovely ancient pub which has retained plenty of character. Many items of interest on the walls. The first room after the entrance is the most charming, where we enjoyed a lunch of faggots, burgers and salads, washed down with the local ale. No recorded music: congratulations! Lunch for three including drinks was a reasonable £62.65.

Not regarding the store but the Store Manager (if that's what you can call her) She's extremely prejudice towards people who are neurodivergent. This may seem bias but ask yourself why do staff keep leaving? Is it because they are expected to start early and finish late but not paid for it? Or is it that, they don't give out breaks so when you ask, she'd shocked and hurt by the message regarding it? Or maybe it's the constant persistence in calling neurodivergent people sloe and saying that because of any issues with health at all, they aren't fit for the job. Your attitude is disgusting, you are a despicable person and I feel sorry for the staff you step on who work under you. You don't have staff because of you. You are the problem. You kept my partner on for the festival and as soon as it's not busy, you get rid of him. I can understand if he isn't fit for the job, but to bully his neurodivergence and constantly belittling and calling him slow?

Recently visited here for breakfast with my family. The restaurant is small in terms of space and I can imagine if everyone had a trolley it would be hectic and cramped. Service was really good, couldn’t fault it at all. Food So, my boys and me both ordered the big breakfast, it was lovely presentation and given your in a supermarket cafe the food itself was lovely. My wife had scrambled eggs on toast which she said was lovely, the scrambled eggs didn’t look watery at all. Downside The only downside I have for the cafe is that the branded drinks are expensive, £1.09 for a can of Coke Zero to me is expensive. Overall we loved it and will definitely be back again
