£3.15 for a granary loaf! £5 for a pack if very dry welsh cakes. As a local keen to support local businesses, won't be going again. The cakes looked amateurish and dry.
Lovely place for breakfast.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Had the mini breakfast, which was tasty and a great price.
Would definitely go back and recommend it for people.
We were on a long drive and picked Llandrindod as our lunch stop. Chose Portland for its proximity to our one-hour parking space. Windows looked like they needed a wipe and the lobby a bit tired but we hadn't long. HOWEVER! The interior was beautifully clean and cosy, and many tables already taken even though it was early for lunchtime, so it's obviously popular. Decent WC, too. We had lovely sandwiches. Very reasonable prices, quick service although clearly fresh food not ready made, and the staff are friendly. Please note, cash only (or was that day).
An absolutely lovely pub along with excellent accommodation. Sue is a top ‘mein host’. She creates lovely meals and runs an excellent bar. It’s lovely to met up with both travellers and locals. Lots of things to do around including walks. We went to a working mill.
Lovely little family pub has a range of Alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Also has ample outdoor and indoor seating with a lovely beer garden to the side and rear of the pub. The offer a small private hire space that also leads out onto the beer garden. Would recommend to families.
We visited this charming hotel twice while we were staying nearby,
Everything was spot on,
From the moment we stepped through door everything was great,
A warm friendly greeting , a good choice of refreshments, superb food from a comprehensive menu,
We were even able to alter a meal for particular member of our group to meet her dietary needs,
The service was very good ,which included a summary of the hotels interesting history,
If you are in the area don’t pass this hotel by
Passing visit (and we're glad we chose Silverfish 👍)
Cracking chippy
Food was lovely, piping hot and plenty of it.
(largest jumbo sausage I've ever had from a chippy! 😂)
Staff were great and the service was prompt.
Highly recommended!
The dining experience here is always amazing. The staff are friendly, and will banter with you/ make you feel welcome. The hot drinks are insanely good and the atmosphere is everything you want from a café. The vibe during Christmas was magical, it's lovely to visit a café in which the staff seem so eager to help, and go out of their way to decorate it in a homely way.
My only complaint is that it is too expensive; I do understand that the quality is higher than many places, and the staff are clearly deserving of high pay, but during a cost of living crisis paying nearly £10 for cake/ biscuit and coffee is not something that I feel like I regularly want to do. There is the app which can give some great reductions, but the offers don't last forever, and without them it's high prices.
When it comes to a treat out, there is no better place than Costa..it is an incredible experience. However, there are certainly more reasonable places in town.
