A welcoming hotel for those stopping in Llangadfran as part of their walk of Glyndwr’s Way. Comfortable, warm, modern rooms with plenty of space to dry wet clothes. The restaurant has a menu that will make everyone happy - with plenty of options for this picky vegetarian. Highly recommend for walkers.

1 star is purely on food Its awful I had steak pie, it was basically half cooked pieces of steak, onions (which looked like frozen ones from supermarket) and most watery gravy ive ever seen with pastry on top it was vile I cant understand how a chef could send that to someones table . Cost about £15 and was the worse meal ive ever had in a pub The burgers again about £15 totally a frozen burger in a bun I wouldnt eat here again Its ok when you just want a drink

A place where there are strict rules, maximum two samples of meat (and it should be a carvery) the "side" side dish turns into a top, all the food on one plate and at the same time. They also placed the side dish buffet, all on a small table in a small room, the variety of side dishes was very limited. Also the meat attendant seems to be there against his will, extremely rude and unwelcoming. Not bad food and excellent desserts. Overall I think I paid more than I received.

My husband, baby and I came to eat here on a Friday evening because we were staying nearby and it was recommended by our host. We were not welcomed into the pub, we stood at the bar for a good few minutes before being acknowledged. Then the barmaid told us a price for the drinks and quickly changed it, I hope it wasn’t because we weren’t local.. Next the food… we ordered a sharing platter for TWO. This included one piece of chicken, onion ring, cheese, scampi per person. For £7 each. With our mains the chips were clearly two batches mixed together because half were brown and overcooked and the other half were pale and hard. The salad also had no dressing, not even a drizzle of oil so was not enjoyable. No one checked half way through our meal if everything was okay, and given we’d just driven from Oxford and were starving with a baby we just tucked in. However when we were leaving and our plates were cleared I did mention we were disappointed to the waitress. The waitress was defensive and was not accepting of my complaint, she said ‘food prices have increased’ and ‘if the platter was larger the customer wouldn’t manage their main’. Firstly, that ‘platter’ probably cost no upwards of £1 per person and secondly, isn’t it up to the customer how much they can manage if they’re ordering a starter and a main? We wouldn’t be returning here since we’re only in the area for the weekend anyway, but if you’re considering visiting here… don’t.

The Hotel has history as a coaching inn from way back when. It's situated on a reasonable road with ample parking. It is however open to non residence and people staying at the local caravan site. From an access point of view there are a few steps into and within the property, with the main staircase leading to the first floor accommodation. The rooms were of a reasonable size, twin room however has a shower room off with a door that hits the bed so at night be mindful to pull the door shut with a click. We ate at the hotel with a variety of options available at a reasonable price, home cooked style. Breakfast was a buffet style for cereals and fruits, with added cooked items

The staff were very helpful and accommodating - serving us with huge pot of lovely hot tea and then allowing us to eat much earlier than booked - lots of different rooms for eating in to allow for quiet rooms and children etc - great food. We didn’t stay in rooms so can’t rate those.

Been here a couple of times and find the staff, cold and unwelcoming. Place lacks atmosphere and prices are quite high. So, ok for a quick drink in good weather in the beer garden. Not one for much longer, or inside unless your local. It’s kind of one of these places that start talking Welsh when you walk in despite speaking English beforehand.

I visited this pub Saturday 16th 2023 with a driver colleague of mine and her 3 little doggies! We were left outside after ringing up expecting the pub to be open at noon like it said on the sign but was told it opened on Saturday at 12.30pm! No cars were in the car park either so we suspected they had no guests in their rooms! Really do not recommend this pub to anyone coming from outside of wales because its obvious they don't want our custom!!!! Very piss poor service!!!

After a day of travelling me, my partner, sister in law & her partner wanted to go somewhere nice for tea. When we arrived there was 1 vehicle on the car park so we wasn’t sure if the restaurant was open. We asked for a table of 4 and was told there wasn’t any room for us & that it was bookings only, we could clearly see the restaurant was empty as there was only 2 gentlemen at the bar having a drink. I think the lady behind the bar, took one look at me & my family & realised we wasn’t from the area so we didn’t receive a friendly response. I won’t be coming here again & wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I’m not somebody who usually writes a review, but after visiting this pub tonight I felt like I had to warn people about the place after being discriminated on my appearance which was obvious that I was not from the area with my physical appearance and accent. As arriving to the pub me and my Pregant partner wanted a nice tea after having a long day travelling and as entering the car park there was one visible vehicle on the car park, so we wasn’t sure if it was even open .. as entering we asked a very rude / abrupt women about a table for food and she instantly responded “no available tables” even though there was on 2 visible men drinking a pint and then we was dismissed. So upsetting for my pregnant partner who was hungry and feeling tired, we then had to travel 12 miles to the next available pub we could find.

Whilst staying at a nearby campsite we called into the Cann Office for Sunday dinner. We sat in the outdoor covered area as we had two dogs with us. I ordered the vegan shepherds pie, which was a little expensive at £14.50 but a nice cosy option as you listened to the rain pattering on the roof. It was nice enough, not much to it and it had the look of a premade meal zapped in the microwave, it held the temperature of an active volcano but it was quite tasty. My husband had fish and chips which did look good. A pint of lager cost £5.80 which was a shock but maybe that's what lager costs these days! Inside there were little snug rooms as well as the restaurant area. The garden had a play area and seating. Overall a nice venue.

When we attempted to have a shave in the sink ,the metal plug wouldn't come out to let the waste water drain /The shower, water temperature regulater , would not work ,leaving us to shower in cold water . I ordered what I thought was a vegan lasagne as it had VE next to it but it came with cheese on it. Apparently you have to read the small print at the bottom of the menu which says you have to state vegan and not vegetarian, even though it has VE next to it. Seems a bit back to front to me, why not mark it VG and put vegan option available on request? The chef very kindly changed it but only after the waitress got into a debate with me about it being my fault for not reading the small print.

We were staying nearby and visited for a drink and possibly food. The lady who serves us was disinterested and rude. When we returned a pint to the bar as it didn't taste right, she was off hand. I understand that the first beer off can taste a bit dodgy, but didn't expect the attitude I was given. We found the drinks very pricey - pint of carling and a small white wine and soda came in at just over £9. The first pint of soda water I bought cost £1.80, the second £1?? All in all, a beautiful pub with great undercover outdoor seating, which could be amazing if only the staff were a little more friendly.

The staff were very friendly & accommodating and the room was clean, but unfortunately the food (dinner) was average and there was no hot water. We were told to wait 40mins for it to heat, which we did and when it did it only lasted a minute before getting cool. A bit of a shame as we had paid extra to get the hot tub & had been hiking all day so was really looking forward to having a bath, however we couldn’t even get a warm shower!

Genuinely unbelievable! Worst dinner I've ever been served in my entire 39 years. Pub smelt of burnt vegetables. 'Carvery' consisted of beige, disgusting, badly cooked mush. No vegetables, no colour. The only veg was frozen sprouts that had been burnt, blackened, ruined. Had we not have paid before we ate, I'd have gotten up and walked out. Honestly the worst food ever. A roast dinner should consist of colour and an array of veg. No greens or oranges here. We couldn't eat it, left hungry and angry, the children couldn't believe it. Worst experience ever. Hygiene rating of 2 is less than surprising. Absolutely vile!
