If people cannot handle criticism let it be constructive or not but deleting my post of our time we spent at the pub i was giving my honest opinion. If you cannot get a pizza right and charge a premium price of £11.95 thats day light robbery 👍

This is a very friendly pub with a warm welcome. Food is typical pub food. Perfectly okay. Those who chose the pies were the most delighted as it was a slice from a large home-made pie and very tasty indeed.

Went for a "carvery" and the place was empty. The meat was in trays already cut so is not fresh. The best carvery is a busy one and this is not. No one came to greet us so we left and did our own food. Very disappointing given the website claims and the price. Will not bother again.

What a find near the church. Great welcome pet friendly with doggy treats. 3 adults and one pooch for a gorgeous lunch with real ale and unfortunately because of driving non alcoholic too. 3 great different meals and even found room for a chocolate brownie pudding with ice cream (sorry desert). Defo will be visiting next time we are in the area. Thank you for the welcome and what a great find.

Perfect pub fare for hungry walkers in a very friendly pub. Stopped for a quick bite to eat for lunch whilst passing through Rhayader and picked The Eagle after checking Trip Advisor. We weren’t disappointed. We chose fish & chips and also scampi & chips and were both very happy. The staff were very friendly and we didn’t need to wait too long. There was also a good range of local beers.

Brilliant! We came here for Dinner. This traditional pub served the perfect Guinness and perfect food. The staff were very welcoming and specifically Karl was a true gentlemen and made you feel special. We ordered the Rump Steak and Eagle Inn Burger. We were so full and couldn’t even finish it. However, the food was beautiful and had fresh eggs and homemade (we think) peppercorn sauce. Thank you!

Wish it could be no stars. We booked a week ago, and left a telephone number, for lunch at 2pm on Tuesday 5th December. We arrived to find an empty pub. A gentleman checked our booking and told us there was no chef, no food and the owners had apparently "gone away". This after a half hour drive to get there. Speechless.

Had a lovely carvery at the Eagles Inn on Sunday. We were welcomed with a warm atmosphere and smiling faces the moment we stepped through the door. I would reccomend this place to anyone, and we will definitely be returning. Keep up the good work team Eagles!

We can here because all other places ran out by 230pm it's just of the beaten track, just short walk from the stretch which well known through road. Just walked past the crown, turned left end road it's in your right. I called 5 mins before went in to see if they had any Sunday dinners left they said yes. We went in they had put a table in the back room next to pool table. They just set it before walked in. They were both lovely and accommodating to what ever you need. We both had Sunday dinner here, both had lamb was lovely. We had the dog, so was at the back quiet which what I liked. Definitely be going again.

Been coming to this pub for a few years now, not a regular by any means but we always try and call in for a pint whenever we are passing through, it’s been taken over recently and they have done a lot of improvements to the pub which is great to see. The things that we love about this pub is the locals here are very friendly and they make you feel part of it as soon as you walk through the door, which is rare nowadays also the staff are really friendly as well and they also serve a lovely pint of Worthies at a good price, can’t comment on the food as we haven’t eaten here yet, would recommend this pub if you are visiting Rhayader well worth a look.

Very friendly service in a nice basic town pub. We had dinner there which was okay...not the best, not the worst, when we went in we were told that there might be a wait as all food was cooked fresh and not pulled out of the freezer or cooked in a microwave, so we had higher expectations, unfortunately when looking at the menu we found it hard to conceive how a lamb shank or beef stroganoff would be cooked fresh in 20 mins, so we took it that it meant that food is not brought in frozen but cooked in their kitchens and finished off . It was okay , good enough , but not amazing . Yes we would return , maybe only have a snack though.

After having a bit of a naff experience in other pubs in Rhayader, we looked on Google and found The Eagle. We’ve gave them a call looking for somewhere to sit 7 of us for Lunch, with no problem at all they sorted us right out. The only reason for the missing star, was just the food was a little on the weak side, but was perfectly fine for a last minute Sunday lunch. The team are super pleasant, and very accommodating. If only all pubs could be like The Eagle, the world would be a better place. We’ll be back soon!

I can't speak to the lodging side of the Eagle, as we only ate there. The caution about them being cash only is gone, they take cards now. The food was excellent both nights we ate there. We stopped here to break up a long journey. Straight away it seemed very unwelcoming. My son is autistic, and because he seemed more comfortable in the corner section we asked to move tables. We were advised that was the dog friendly section, and obviously we would move if needed, it was quiet at the time, but this seem like an inconvenience to move tables. Then when my son was wandering in the pub, this seemed to annoy a couple of guests, and I know he seemed hyperactive but these are some of his autistic traits, this seemed to annoy one couple in particular, where the man was making very rude comments ( I know you have no control over who comes into your pub) but overall it just felt very unwelcoming in there. Are kids not allowed in here? It didn't seem like it. We come past this pub often, so we will not be stopping here again.
