Fresh Fills in Powys

Food was edible but average. Large breakfast was missing black pudding, mushrooms and hash brown. These could be purchased as an extra but for me should form part of the meal. I'd rather have one less egg and pay extra for a full breakfast. My toast was burnt but my wife's had barely touched the toaster. Eggs were and sausages were overcooked. I suspect the sausages had been sat in the bain marie for some time. Also, the beans were running into the tinned tomatoes - they need separating. No Could be really nice with just a little attention to detail. Price was a little high for the quality of the produce. Doubt I'll use again.

Ordered rice chips and curry for myself and soup of the day for my wife, service was amazing food was quick, portion was just huge also tasty also a bargain. Thanks guys top place.

Food was delicious and good value for money! Staff was super polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Dirty tables, food looked awful, cups were dirty, definelty would never go there again wouldent even consider it,……..

Came for lunch the lady behind the counter was so rude to us told us we couldn’t have anything if the breakfast menu so ordered off the main meals witch was sausage egg chips and beans and she was ridiculously rude saying that was breakfast stuff as she had washed stuff up will definitely not be returning !!!

Had probably the best breakfast ever yesterday at Freshfills, Llandrindod Wells. £6.99 for 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 fried eggs, beans, tomatoes and 2 pieces of toast. The quality was great and the price exceptional. Will definitely return 😜😜😜😜😜

Friendly staff, very good portion sizes, fast service, always tasty and filling, a friendly local cafe.

Nice airy and clean cafe near town centre. Staff friendly enough and had to order food at till. Set menu with some items already cooked and kept in warmers. I had curry which turned out to a beef curry. I should have asked what the curry was when ordering. It came with half and half chips and rice and was hot when arriving at table.. I also ordered a coffee which was week and no taste to it.

First impressions should have indicated to us to look elsewhere. Staff paid no attention to us hovering at the counter. Not clear whether it was table service or not. Ordered fish finger sandwiches, a cappuccino, and an Americano with cold milk. Mug or cup? One of us said cup, the other mug. Both got mugs, Americano came with hot milk. Fishfinger sandwich was tasteless. Coffee was truly the worst I've had in years. Tables weren't cleaned between customers. Plus side, toilet was clean, food was cheap. Excellent cafe, light, spacious and airy. Friendly and efficient staff. We popped in not long before they closed, but they managed to rustle us up some food, and very tasty it was too. Hopefully we can visit again before our holiday ends. Thank you

Popped in at the start of the week and had coffee with toasted tea cake, and the staff were friendly and the tea cake perfect. So decided to test the restricted lunch menu due to Covid and again well happy. The fat boys breakfast (large) was tasty with thick bacon, really yellow eggs, loads of tomatoes and all cooked perfectly. It included a cuppa and the wife had a baguette with the Xmas filling and again she was really pleased. All staff were chatty, accommodating and super friendly. A great pit stop just of the main drag if you are passing through. Cheers

We popped in for coffee whilst walking the town Heritage Trail. The cafe staff were really friendly and the coffee and sandwich excellent. Recommended.

Called in for a quick lunch. The food was ok, nothing special and service was slow with food being brought to our table before drinks.

Whenever we are working in the area, we always try and fit in a visit to Fresh Fills. It's always popular with the locals which is always a good sign. Friendly staff. Freshly prepared food, from breakfasts to hot and cold lunches. Good value with wholesome food and big portions. The tables are well spaced. You order at the counter and your food is served (promptly) to your table. It never disappoints. There is limited, free on street parking in the area. Situated in the heart of Llandrindod.

This light and airy cafe is situated very conveniently for the railway station and taxi rank. We arrived for breakfast and were made welcome. I had the large breakfast and my wife had the smaller version with extra bacon. The prices were very reasonable with black pudding and hash browns available at 50p extra. Both breakfasts were enjoyable except for the sausages which were basic cash and carry. I would far prefer local sausages made by local butchers and pay a little more. In addition toast made from thicker bread (perhaps hand cut) is more enjoyable

My husband goes to Fresh Frills quite often for breakfast. This morning he had no money with him. He stopped at the ATM (only disperses 20 and 10 pound notes.). Breakfast was 4.99. After he ate, he went to pay and the woman behind the till gave him a penny. He told her he gave her a 10 pound note. She insisted it was a 5 pound note. He is the type of guy who will not make a scene for 5 quid...so he left. Food was excellent, but this type of fraud should not be condoned in Wales this day and age. Any reputable restaurant will leave your note on the till until you have received the change. Also we are sure he had no 5 pound notes. Food is very good, but be really careful if you are paying cash. Won't go back again, obviously.

Dropped in for a coffee while waiting for a train, nice cup of milky coffee and the wife had a coffee and a cake for £3 did the job,

Reasonably priced but keep your eyes peeled on the difference on the Breakfast price list and the luch list as it seems an order of the same items can lead to a different total. Most in the Cafe were eating a late Breakfast or possibly early dependant on their daily routine. Lots of Sandwich and Baguette fillings to choose but priced at each item, side salad came with Pineapple Chunks.

All the pubs seemed to be shut, so we found our way here after a long journey.Only had bacon rolls and blt, which were delicious, but all of the food going out looked hot and tasty. Wish I had tried the cottage pie!. Tea was excellent as well. Don't often enthuse about a cafe but this one is well worth it. Very friendly, personal service.

We were travelling from Cheshire as a family of 7 adults with 2 children to Bluestone, Pembrokeshire and Fresh Fills was our chosen half way stop for food, drink and a rest. As soon as we walked in the four ladies who work there gave us a lovely warm welcome with smiles and a “good morning”, which was great after a two hour drive. We also needed to pull another table up to accommodate us all and the ladies were very obliging with this and nothing was too much trouble. We all ordered a full cooked breakfast each and it all came to us at the same time, fast and efficiently. The food was fresh, hot and tasty with hot drinks to go with it too. The cafe itself is clean and spacious with a friendly and relaxed vibe to it. It seems alot of the locals meet there which was nice to see. The ladies who worked there were so chatty, friendly and attentive during and after our breakfast and asked us where we were from and travelling too etc. It was such a lovely place we also decided to stop there again on our way home after our weeks stay in Pembrokeshire. As soon as we walked in the lovely ladies remembered us and asked us how our holiday had gone and gave us the same amazing customer service as our earlier visit. I would definately recommend Fresh Fills to everyone.

Came here every day bar Sunday(closed). The breakfasts were delicious and great service. Do not miss this place,just up from the Train Station

Friendly staff and good value for money. Looked to be well supported with lots of local customers. Nothing was to much trouble.

This is a classic, traditional cafe which is well supported by the 'locals' so that is always a good sign.

i always take my son here when im in the area the staff are always friendly and helpful and its very reasonable prices

This is a great cafe in the heart of the Town.

Perfect for a quick and reasonably priced snack or a full meal. Plenty on offer and always busy which is always the best sign. Decor a bit tired but it is the food that counts. Can also sit outside many seem to in all weathers. Perfect for after shopping rest and a bite to eat.

Came in right before they were closing ... the ladies were still smiling and friendly and even allowed us to stay in after doors were closed. We laughed and they fixed us a Coronation chicken sandwich, which was superb ... with hot cappuccino to thaw us out from the cold afternoon! Friendly neighborhood grill with a good selection. Quaint look to the outside, and mod magenta photo art on the walls. Enjoyed our time there! Thanks, Fresh Fills :)

Just popped in for a quick breakfast, there was plenty of choice on the menu and they will also do something else if you ask. The quantity of food for the price is fantastic. This isn't super quality it is just good honest home cooked type stuff.

Called in with 4 others for a cuppa and Toasted tea cake, which was lovely. We all called back 3 hours later for a meal. The staff were so friendly, clean and tidy. The food was excellent, hot and fresh. Brilliant choice of home-made meals on the menu and at a good affordable price. Loved it.

Stopped off for a spot of lunch, but the all day mega breakfast proved too tempting. Great service, great price, great value, great taste. Couldn't fault it.

We really like this place! Been coming here for a year now, almost every time we visit Llandod for shopping. The service is fast ant efficient. The food is good and coffee is great!

Would describe it as a place for people on a tight budget generally. Tired decor, loud customers who have no real manners but the food is acceptable for a cheap price. Would often go up for lunch from high school with my friends. Service was quick and generally polite. Very clean place also but cramped. Wouldn't put it on my must visit list but is okay for a quick coffee break if you aren't worried of tight spaces! The milkshakes are to die for, amazing choccy milkshake in a huge cup with a straw and sprinkles if requested!

I'm back again.I run a motorcycle training school in Cardiff and always try and call in to 'Fresh Fills' when I bring trainees to the area.Great staff - always a friendly welcome.Great food and all freshly prepared. You can get the standard cafe breakfast options as well as fresh cooked lunches, salads and sandwiches etc.Called in today and it was heaving. A place that is so busy and popular with the locals is always a good sign.Situated in the centre of town and with plenty of free on street parking outside.Spotlessly clean and with a 5 star hygiene rating, it's one of those hubs of the community that you simply must visit if you're in the area.I'll be back.

whilst on holiday we decided to try this place for a cuppa and some food. was nice and bright lots of menu choices, girls who were working were friendly. the coffee was not up to much to be honest tasted cheap and bitter, tea was tea, and the food we had was very nice, portions were excellent too. the place seemed cleaned however a little cramped by the door think they try and sell a bit of everything food drink and snack wise so looked a bit untidy. served its purpose for what we wanted and would return again

I like this place. I stop here whenever I'm in the area.I run a motorcycle training school in Cardiff and occasionally find myself in the town. Always call in for a break with my trainees. Always welcoming and friendly staff. Good Cafe food, breakfasts, cooked lunches, sandwiches and salads. And it's all good value. It's a good sign when such a place is well used by the locals!Clean well maintained toilets.Situated in the centre of the town there is plenty of free on street parking available in the area.I'll be back soon.

After driving for a couple of hours towards our journey home, we found this cafe which has the biggest selection of food imaginable! The staff were warm and welcoming, and after much deliberation of what to eat, we settled with baguettes and salads/ jacket potatoes... Portion sizes were great, and very tasty... Regrettably, I left my coat there and after an hour further on Into our journey towards the Midlands, I realised I'd left it on the chair!!! I was preparing myself not to see it again. After a phone call to the cafe, Rachel assured me she would have it sent to my home by recorded delivery and sure enough a couple days later, I am back reunited with my coat. Just wanted to make a comment here that Rachel and all the staff at fresh fills are a credit to a lovely little find of a coffee shop, where the service was truly brilliant! Thanks again Rachel!!

Really friendly staff, clean and tidy.Hot food selection and some limited cake selection. Bit overfilled with stuff and the shmoo milkshakes were poor quality (milk not cold and not well mixed). Some chairs outside, but everyone seems to use them for smoking so you have to walk through smokers to enter and exit.

Made to feel welcome , greeted with a smile. The staff were all friendly & eager to please . The service was the best I have had in a very long time. The food was nice & plenty of it. The tables were all clean & cleared as soon as customers left.

Came across this place whilst on holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful however unfortunately spoilt by the terrible food! We were served a glass of tap water with a fly in the glass, the cheese in the toasties tasted salty and were packed with an obscene amount of raw onion and If this wasn't bad enough, there was also a hair in the coleslaw! Awful awful food...

Day out and we were all hungry so popped in. First thing I noticed was how friendly the staff were! Made you feel so welcoming it was lovely. Food was absolutely delicious . Freshly made and really good portions. We will definitely be going back when we visit again. Keep up the good work guys

I run a motorcycle training school and often find myself training in Llandrindod Wells. Having traveled some distance to get to the town Freshfills is always on the menu for a food or tea stop.Great staff- always smiling and friendly service.This is a typical cafe in as much as it's menu is the usual, all day breakfast, jacket potatoes, salads etc and the food is always freshly prepared and well presented. This is not a 'greasy spoon', and attracts many locals, which is always a good sign It looks like it's recently had a revamp and is nicely decorated, with fresh matching table covers.The toilets have also been decorated, with new flooring. All clean and tidy.As it's popular, the cafe can get busy and the tables can be a bit cramped together, but this is only a minor grumble.There is some pavement seating outside which is partially covered.The photo shows the menu boards situated outside, showing what's on offer.Good food, good service, good value.A great find in the town.

I was working in the town just for the day and come lunch time i wanted something cooked as opposed to a sandwich. I visited Fresh Fills and was greeted by friendly staff. It was very, very busy but even so my order was taken promptly and i found a table. The restaurant was clean, as were the toilets. I ordered a small all day breakfast which was cooked to perfection and also a latte. I didn't have to wait long for my order.If i visit the town again i will make a point of eating here again.

Called in for lunch after asking a local where to try and we were very impressed. The place was nearly full of locals which gave it a very real feeling. Also popping in for take-away were school pupils, builders and young mums so it obviously suits a wide variety of tastes. The menu was huge for the size of the cafe. All very clean and tasty.

Have popped in 3 times over the past few months for a full meal, a tea and cake and a light snack. Each time the food has been well cooked, hot and tasty. Very friendly, hard working staff who are polite and attentive. Recommended.

Visited here back in June as I was driving through to visit my folks.Ordered the breakfast it was huge and the quality was exceptional i.e no grease etc.Also the place had a nice feel to it,looks like it's used by tourists and locals,very clean too!.So overall if you want top tucker at a reasonable price and oh yes the staff are really friendly too,then this place is a must.Well done you.

We found this little gem when travelling thro. Mid Wales. We stopped of to have breakfast freshly cooked and served by the friendly welsh ladies. Take a tip If you are going that way call in you will not be disappointed.

Visited recently after having one too many beers the night before. There is a huge choice of things to eat and I went for the mini breakfast. I'm not a fan of plum tomatoes and was given the option of something extra instead and had hash browns. The food didn't take long to arrive and was excellent, sausage was very tasty and egg cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the bacon, egg and mushroom sandwich which she said was lovely. Drinks were hot and good and prices reasonable, would highly recommend a trip.
