Had a fab evening with my husband last night , one of the staff I believe was called Tracy was very helpful and very welcoming , overall we had a great meal and experience at this pub 🤗

Tracey was very friendly and it felt like we had known her for years! :)

Attended a party, nice buffet and occasion with friends.

Had a lovely time out with friends at the clock works ,the young girl with beautiful hair was so pleasant and helpful her name was Lucy and she absolutely lovely,great service thank you guys

Came here for Sunday dinner myself and my friend as we couldn’t get in anywhere else! The dinner was cold and tasteless, seems like it was chucked together and all frozen food! I will never eat here again and I advise others to eat elsewhere

Another lovely visit for dinner tonight. Food was lovely and the service was as always outstanding. Our waitress Tracey couldn't do enough. Looking forward to our next visit. Only one negative, get rid of the bandit, it ruins the atmosphere.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE ! There was hair on my food . I asked for the ‘mega mixed grill ‘ to be well done everything was under done , it was vile wouldn’t recommend eating here

Gammon a bit tough and the beer is overpriced but overall an enjoyable meal

Kyle the assistant manager clockworks refuses to refund a whole meal when the supervisor said they would refund because the steak x 2 was very rare/more well done now they said the replacement of chicken is good enough & not the refund the chef/assistant manager agreed the steak was medium rare, not at one point the chef or assistant manager came to ask if we would want the steak more rare the General Paul wouldn't have done this I am raising a complaint to head office I will not eat here again even with 25% discount absolutely shocked by the poor experience/service 😱😱😱😱😱😱

Absolutely what you'd expect. Seats that are uncomfortable after an hour so you eat up and get out, affordable okay pub grub and the usual brands behind the bar. This could be anywhere.

Was one of our favourite places to visit for a meal & drink. New owners who have dropped standards. Food ordered came out wrong had to order at the bar changed to no table service. Drinks ordered were forgotten had to go to bar to ask where they were. This is the 2nd time we have visited since new owners definitely won’t be going again.

We used to come here all the time, real regulars but avoided it like the plague after it turned rough and chaotic. We heard that the management and those accompanying them have finally (thankfully!!) left so we gave it another try today. We are so happy to say good old Clock Works is back to how it used to be! Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, delicious food. It’s so nice to see it back to how it was, especially the professional, friendly staff. We will become regulars again for sure.

I havent been here for over a year after a bad experience. I decided to take my 2 grandchildren after school yesterday,as heard new management have taken over. I was so impressed, it was lovely and warm, staff were so friendly & food was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Mixed experience walking in it wasn't busy for a Sunday afternoon. staff was polite and friendly, and we soon found a seat. x2 starters x2 Sunday dinners. Prawn cocktail We didn't wait long and the starters appeared in a 1980s style glass. there was a prawn for every pound I paid for the meal. but it tasted nice and the butter supplied with the bread was delicious. my partner hadn't finished her starter and the main meals appeared to my amazment. I'm 51 and never seen that before and worked in the industry for year. so forgive my horror when I seen this. the waiter apologies but just plopped the plates on the table and vanished as quick as my prawns. there was also a young waiter who was most helpful, only young possibley still at school. my first impression of my Sunday roast wasn't the best. the massive Yorkshire puddings were softer than the creamy mash and the stuffing was has hard as a golf ball and probebley better suited to teeing off. but the meat was nice. a mix of turkey and beef. so someone could obviously cool in the kitchen. just wish there application of putting it all together was as good as the way they could the meats. nice mash and sweet cabbage. it was not bad at all if you like alot of gravy. I mean alot of gravy. lol finishing it off with the sherry truffle cheese cake. I know most of the puddings are all bought in, but this was delicious. and absolute winner. I don't know if or when the last time I ever ate 3 courses. but this cheesecake was certainly a highlight. they said it was under new management, and this place could be a winner and money maker with some small tweaks.Bar staff are friendly and polite but could be shown how to pour drinks properly and as for the kitchen. give that chef the money he deserves and he might actual put out the meals that he can obviously cook. waiting staff. well communications needed there. that was I big NoNo that. is suppose kitchen was to blame just as much. but never had a starter and main meal on the table at the same time unless asked for. I have been as honest as possible. cost about £65 all in. 3star avrage. could easily be more but I could easily have given less lol

Had a couple of meals here some months ago and to say I wasn't impressed is an understatement, however I went for food there today as I heard its under new management and what a difference. The food was lovely the service was also very good. Will definately return again

Bar staff were very friendly. We were welcomed on entry and shown to our seats. Food and drinks were easy to order and the food was amazing!! Will definitely be visiting again very soon!!

Already a great start when ordering as they took allergies very seriously and the hosts were very sweet when checking our orders, the food was nothing outstanding but was some pub grub if anyone fancies a fair priced evening out 🙂 Everyone is ridiculously friendly and are sweeter than sugar to talk to. 10 out of 10 would come back next time we visiting this way.

Update: We went tonight (sept 21 2024) It was a great night, we had surf and turf, rare which well cooked and was juicy and delicious, chips were fantastic it was an alright pub meal. Drinks were a Thatchers for me and and two cocktails for £10 something for the missis. The staff were amazing, they told us that a cocktail pitcher worked out cheaper at £14 ISH but you got 4 drinks from it. We were already a couple in and I could not have got the missis and me back home up the hill after a pitcher, next time for sure. The banter with the staff was great, I miss those days and all of them were friendly and hilarious in a good way. The atmosphere was relaxed plenty of room round the tables, not too busy. We were told it has very recently changed hands and this change has obviously had a positive effect. It really should be busier it's just a nice chilled out pub. Prices are ok, not especially cheap but ok. Food is good and reasonably priced, humour is plentiful and free. They had a female singer who was really good to be fair, but I hadn't seen this advertised anywhere. She would have liked more people in, I'm sure. After the change in management give it a try it really is worth it. Original review: Went for a Sunday Roast, we were met at the door showed to a table, all very polite. Service was quick drinks came almost straight away. Ordered roast beef diner. Came with roast potatoes, sweet red cabbage, veg. The real result was extra roasties for £2.25 absoloutly worth it. Really nice diner in a nice pub. Would absoloutly go again. It wasn't that busy, which was surprising at 1:45 on a Sunday given how good the food was. 2x roast diners, extra potatoes, a pint of thatchers haze, a coke came to just less than £40. If there is a criticism then it would be only that the food looked bit too organised. As it wasn't overflowing with veg, everything looked a bit placed. But that's it, still a good meal. Update: just been back and had the steak and a pint for £12.49 that was great as well. Had it rare and was cooked perfectly, not quite melt in your mouth but pretty close, and for that price... incredible.

Took the family 10 of us last sat and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We all ordered and the food was good. The reason I never gave 5 stars the children said The hot dog was slightly burned and there wasn't enough kebab meat on his Donna kebab( Kids for you ) .The place was very clean and we will visit again when we come to see family .Thank you .

We are on holiday and wanted a pub where we could take our dogs. Very nice clean pub. Food was lovely and cooked how we asked and the staff were friendly. Tables were cleared and cleaned within minutes of customers leaving. Would definitely go again if we had time.

Great service by Emily and friendly and nothing too much trouble. Half price mixed grill was a must, beautifully cooked thank you chef. Will be back again very soon.

After an initial very disappointing first visit several months ago, I have since been back a few more times, and wow....what can I say. The staff were very friendly and helpful..... especially Emily in particular. Nothing was a problem for her whatsoever. The food was absolutely spot on and couldn't fault it at all. Well done everyone.....this is how it should be. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Just visited this evening pre meal before my holiday starts very disappointed meal was basic I mean basic I ordered a hunters chicken which came out as a chicken breast covered with barbecue sauce and chips still looking for my grilled tomatoes onion rings and cheese which states on the menu when we went to pay we did complained they told us we should have said that the meal was not good I replied with saying that I not say because the menue stated what was meant to be on the plate rather than what I got was chicken and chips they did not like our complaint there was three of us and every meal was rubbish wished I had stayed at home will not visit there again

Had a lovely meal last night, my steak was done to perfection! The deserts were 20 minutes late, so after talking to a waiter, he apologised profusely and refunded the money for them, also had a free drink. I thought this was very good of them, our deserts came and they were lush, Definitely going back!! Thanks to all.

Great place! we visited last week and the place has been improved. the food was tasty and hot, the kids had a lovely time. staff worked really hard and they were really friendly.

As I had never been to this restaurant before I was a little concerned to try somewhere different especially when it comes to food but I had nothing to worry about at all. Every member of staff we had contact with was very friendly, polite and professional. The establishment was clean and I was so surprised by the size of both the inside and outside areas. We ordered 3 main meals with extra sides and two desserts, food was incredible, it arrived hot, cooked to perfection and all of our order was delivered correctly including items we asked to be left off. To conclude, I would highly recommend this place to friends and family.

Horrendous experience orderd our food starters were taken to a different table had a full refund and offered our mains for free so we decided to have them as at this point we were really hungry Mains came out and the food was freezing cold

The Lasagne with chips was absolutely delicious, any time we've visited we have had a lovely meal, at a reasonable price. We are strangers to this area but would recommend.

Sunday lunch very,very disappointing,potatoes,Yorkshire burnt,turkey dry,veg watery and no taste,gravy like water,every other time here ,dinner has been delicious,the batter on the fish was really soggy and undercooked,felt the place has gone down badly,lad who served us was polite and cheerful,he said he'd have a word with the chef, definitely not the chef that has been there,used the Clockworks a lot for birthdays and children's event a lot,but afraid it will be a while before we try it again which is a pity.

Rubbish and knives in the outdoor areas. Benches were broken, screws dangerously sticking out . Grass not mown. We ordered a selection of starters. But the price wasn't the best. Worked out at 2 breaded wings and 5 popcorn £4.50.

Took visiting family here this evening as had seen photos of the bouncy castle on Facebook, which I thought would keep our over-active 3 year old grandson occupied. Arrived to find no bouncy castle but some play equipment. Unfortunately there was only one table outside here, which was occupied. There were several over the other side of the building, but most hadn't been cleared of dishes and glasses it was only 6pm) and we couldn't see the play area from there. We were a party of 7 and when we went to order most of us had to re-choose as they had no pizza, kebabs, fish or lasagne. This was apparently because the manager was off and hadn't ordered enough food in! The food came quite quickly and wasn't as bad as I was expecting, to be fair, though it could have been a little hotter. The outside areas really let this family pub down, they need to sort it out.

Not impressed with the pub. We live 10 minutes away and looking for a local! Sadly this won't be it. The food was ok but expensive for what we got. The outdoor area was disgusting. Knives and rubbish sitting in the unmown grass and the seats were broken with nails sticking out. These are simple maintenance issues. With the understanding this was under new management we would expect better from Marstons.

Lovely food and service by bar staff. However, meant to close at 11pm. Woman went round all the tables at 840pm saying they were changing the closing time to 10pm from now on. 30mins waiting for dessert, went to bar to check and she said chef had gone home and forgot to do order. Then bloke went round tables at 935pm saying hes closing now! Not a great impression on a first visit there for a catch up with a friend on a FRIDAY night!! Very disappointed, see as we spent quite a lot on food and drink!

The place has gone to the dogs. It has a drug problem where people were snotting coke in the toilets at half 6 in the evening when the pub was full of families. We complained to the manager and she basically laughed in our face after taking our 7 year old to the toilet to hear obvious signs of drug taking in the cubical. We have loved going to the pub over the years and had a lovely family friendly vibe but the last few months it has declined and now as families we don't feel safe going there. It is such a shame for the community.

Not being local to the area it is sometimes difficult to find a friendly pub that accommodates young and old alike. We found this place on our travels and came back 5 times during our holiday as all family members liked the food and the atmosphere in the pub. The everyday menu options are good. The staff are always very nice and helpful, they are also dog friendly which is a huge plus for us. The portion sizes are great, we compared it to our local Marstons pub The Flying Shuttle and this place is far better and cheaper too. I guess this could depend on which chefs are on duty but overall we came away happy and would certainly recommend that you give the place a try. Hopefully you won't be disappointed.

Always have lovely food and service

Extremely disappointed with our meals. Pastry was hard on the Steak and ale pie and was full of gristle. The amount of Fries and peas on the plate was equivalent to a childs portion. My wifes portion of chips was the same plus her chicken was way over cooked with a burnt offering of bacon on top. For what we paid for the meal was daylight robbery. If it had been cooked nicely we could have forgiven the portion sizes. Shan't be eating there again

First time , as was going shopping at Tesco . I won’t lie , may be I picked the wrong day … was manic , must have had a day nursery on . They had some one from butlins singing it seemed too , very loud ! But it did drown out the Kaos going on . I can’t diss it , if this is your thing . Where told food was a 45 min weight , as the head chef had quit on shift . Tbh ! Food was ready in 30 mins and actually really tasty :) and served with an apology . . They seemed to have loads on for kids ! Bouncy castle , the works !! Good effort , not my vibe tho . I wanted a chill meal .

Regular visitors to the clock works, but this is the second time that they’ve not been doing pizza without any warning. What’s the point of having menus out if you’re not going to actually serve any food - just hot dogs and burgers. You’ve lost a regular family. Bring back the old manager, been terrible since the new people took over

Turned up twice now where they are not serving the full menu even when they have the menu out on display on the tables! Used to go here all the time when it was the old management team will definitely stop going here. Extremely disappointed.

Had a lovely meal with the family this evening. Pizzas were beautiful, and really friendly staff, Jasmine couldn't do enough. Really pleased with the service.
