An absolutely lovely pub along with excellent accommodation. Sue is a top ‘mein host’. She creates lovely meals and runs an excellent bar. It’s lovely to met up with both travellers and locals. Lots of things to do around including walks. We went to a working mill.

It was a lovely pub and the food was excellent, cooked by Sue. We stayed for three nights in the biggest room so plenty of space to spread out. I can highly recommend. Will we go back? Definitely YES!

Had 2 dinners here over the weekend, as we were staying in The Old Mill B&B farmhouse just behind the pub. Sue was lovely and very welcoming - there was even an opportunity to meet Paddy the Jack Russell at the end of the night! The food was really good and served quickly. Fish and Chips and Sausage and Mash went down a treat! We would definitely come back.

Our stay here couldn't have been better. Sue our host was most accommodating. The food was delicious, perfectly presented. The rooms were clean and comfy . Nothing was too much trouble for Sue.

Tried this pub as the more expensive pub up the road was full. Was impressed by the helpfulness of the landlady who was able to provide us with and cook a meal for the time we requested in spite of having guests staying in the pub who were having their evening meal too. The price was very reasonable and the ambiance pleasant - unassuming and cosy. Not a very big pub but enough room to eat with the area around the corner from the main area. The food was excellent. This pub was a most surprising find.

my ex-partner and I decided to go out one evening, although we had planned on going to another establishment just down the road after waiting an age for the waiter to take our order we made an exit and went to the Plough & Harrow instead, Its a small quite pub with very nice landlords who know how to cook a perfect steak

Excellent food. Excellent service - staff helpful and friendly. We opted for the 3 course option from the menu and thought the choice was excellent and great value for money. Could literally find nothing to fault it on. Highly recommended

I stayed with my husband for my birthday weekend. The room was lovely so was the food and Cyd and Sue the owners were so helpful and caring. Definitely the place to stay in the Brecon beacons. I would have liked longer!

Excellent country pub. Good food. Nice pub. Friendly service. Shame they allow e cigarettes as it spoils an otherwise good pub!

Attended for private party. Very busy restaurant (as pre-warned). Luckily were provided with private dining room. Food was excellent but service rather lacking at times.

Well cooked and well presented. Relaxed atmosphere next to the bar. Not a gourmet experience but very good home cooking, served hot and not too much of a wait. We also stayed here and the breakfast was excellent - not just quality but a wide range of locally sourced ingredients.

Whilst staying in the locality for the weekend we (my family of 4) decided to go for a drive and came accross a sign for this pub advertising food on the main road, as it was 2.30pm we thought we`d stop for lunch. I parked in front of the pub which looked quite nice and decided to go inside for a look where i met a gentlemen behind the bar so i asked him if they were still serving food to which he abrubtly said "no! just stopped" so i asked if i could have drink and sit in his beer garden to which he said i would`nt we have a lot of wasps, he might just have said go away, i was not offered drinks inside so he did not serve me drinks and i left. I was not given the chance to have drinks inside as he seemed pre-occupied with his boarders to bother with me. Was i not dressed appropriatley i.e. very hot day 3/4 trousers and t-shirt, was i not the right age, i don`t know, I felt like i was not good enough to be at his establishment and was made to feel unwelcome, this publican needs to get more of a feel for the general public, don`t advertise if you can`t accomadate. I WOULD NOT recommend this PUBLIC house as it seems the general PUBLIC are not welcome. My wife, myself and 2 children got back into our range rover and went to a more hospitable pub in the location called the OLD FORD INN, very nice and welcoming.

After walking 27 miles (started at the source of the river Wye) I was intending to wild camp but last minute changed my mind and stay and dine at The Crown. What can I say?! The staff bent over backwards to accommodate and make me feel welcome, even though I did look a little worse for ware and considering it’s really nice inside. My dinner experience surpassed my expectations by a mile with perfectly cooked food using high quality (I assume local) ingredients. My room was clean and very comfortable too and exactly what I needed. If you’re looking for a traditional country pub, The Crown ticks all the boxes. Everything about this place offers a feel that hasn’t changed in a hundred years but with a modern take on customer experience. PI highly and genuinely recommend. Thank you for a great experience. It’s exactly what I needed. If you’re coming from the river, seriously just walk past all the pubs and hotels and come straight here. 👍😊🙏

Lovely little family pub has a range of Alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Also has ample outdoor and indoor seating with a lovely beer garden to the side and rear of the pub. The offer a small private hire space that also leads out onto the beer garden. Would recommend to families.

We were staying approximately a mile from the pub,so drove past at 6pm and it was open. Took the car back to the holiday home and walked to the pub, arrived at 7pm to find it closed. Apparently , if it is quiet they they close at around 7pm.
