Great friendly staff , amazing coffee and lovely food every time I go there . Very popular and busy place

Met my friends this afternoon. We never bother ordering a second as the owner is usually hovering because we know he doesn't like locals staying too long, much preferring tourists. When I have the choice, I never go there. The staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Great coffee shop. I had their loose leaf tea which was great. Also a panini which was very generous with the fillings which is good

Properly made coffee takes time and ours arrived immediately and was disappointing. Marmalade the bog standard sort in a jar. Staff perfectly pleasant and nice atmosphere.

It’s a buzzing cafe right in the centre of town, really lovely cakes and excellent coffee. I do find it VERY echoey in there so I often go elsewhere. And if you sit near the kitchen corner you’ll be deafened by clattering crockery cutlery and staff swearing in the kitchen. Also- if the owner is seeing this, please please change the music for something less depressing than that melancholy piano music ! Great coffee , great cake, good service, but the echoey atmosphere and depressing music lets it down.

Staff seemed distant and miserable, no enthusiasm in serving me. £9.75 for a dissapointing toastie, with thin bread, limp salad and a handful of crisps thrown on the side. Could have been so much better. Nothing like the images left by other reviewers. Very dissapointed. Too shocked to complain as just wanted to leave. Should have gone else where wher I saw toasties for £ 6.50 that looked loads better

A hidden gem. Great cakes, very good coffee, and the luxurious milkshake is… luxurious indeed :). A cut above chain coffee shops.

Good coffee and food close to town centre carpark. Very busy lunchtime, but we visited a bit later, and we found a table ok.

We always make time to stop here when we're passing through Wales because their food is delicious and their lattes are awesome! The flapjacks are to die for, especially the caramel one! The prices are decent. There is a large pay and display car park nearby.

Probably the best coffee shop in Brecon. Really nice coffee, great roast, strong but not bitter. Great fruit smoothies, and one of the best Chai lattes we have had for a long time. Cakes and pastries very fresh and sandwiches freshly made to order.

Lovely interior, prices are what you'd expect in a tourist town, friendly staff. My iced coffee was a generous size and tasted good, if somewhat spoilt by a number of congealed creamy blobs. I don't know what they were, but they were a bit off-putting.

Popped in for a coffee and breakfast panini with my husband! Lovely cafe clean and quick service! Panini was lovely too! The acoustics are quite loud in there struggle to hear who you're sitting with if by the front but other than that will go again

Popped in for a coffee one day while passing through. It was actually hot which is unusual and really nice so we went back for breakfast. I had a bacon sandwich and my husband a breakfast pannini. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food and mocha coffees, much nicer than a chain coffee shop. Staff were friendly and helpful and service was swift and polite.

Wouldn't cross the owners hand with my stool sample let alone my money. Simple as that

Came across the Coffee Box on a cold wet and windy day and warmed ourselves up with delicious soup and lovely smooth coffee. Great service, really nice atmosphere.

if anyone applies for a job here and already has a job then ask for a TRIAL shift first!!! my daughter was offered a 30hrs per week contract to be dismissed via text after her first shift. she has now been left jobless 😔 manager was fully aware she was in previous employment. why he didn't offer her a trial shift first is beyond me.

A fantastic little coffee shop in the heart of Brecon, a must visit if you are in the town or nearby. Prices are extremely reasonable, staff are attentive and the product is of high-quality. We were impressed by the prompt service of freshly made food. Just remembered to duck as you enter! Hope to return soon!

Rude and unwelcoming staff. Never make the mistake of asking for a bacon roll unless you are 100% it’s ’breakfast time’. Left before we got to order anything. Will take my money elsewhere.!

Great coffee shop I have used for a few years . I meet friends for coffee and lunch every few weeks and they alway have great coffee and cakes . It’s a breakfast and lunch place . I have never had a bad coffee in the the times I have used the place which is amazing and the staff and lovely and friendly even when it’s rammed and super busy they are always happy and helpful and polite

Popped in for coffee and a bite to eat. The coffee was so lovely I didn't need to add sugar. Nice variety of food available including vegetarian options. The cafe was clean and tidy as was the toilet.

Dropped by for a breakfast sandwich (4 of us) and some Grenola this morning & hot drinks. We didn’t know where to try as we were only passing through. Glad we stumbled on this place not far from the car park. The service was very good as was the food. We had the breakfast panini which was superb. Nice clean toilets. Spacious inside and quick service. Bonus for us was that we could take our 3 dogs in. Well done Coffee Box you are a credit.

A very beautifully decorated cafe, the baristas were very sweet and on god the best carrot cake and the best iced mocha I’ve EVER had!would definitely recommend and I will be back if I’m ever around again:)

They would not sell a slice of the blueberry cake I would have liked becouse there were a few cakes still on display, but was told this rather aggressively!

Noticed this off the high street and we wanted a quick start to the day - bacon sandwich and coffee - but didn't fancy one of the high street coffee chains. Very impressed - this would certainly be a regular stop for us if we were local, and if we return to Brecon we would certainly call in. Staff very efficient and pleasant, really nice environment, clean and well set out. Our coffee and sandwiches were delivered very promptly to the table, the sandwiches were really good, quality ingredients and well prepared. Coffee was also really good. Plenty of selection with regard to cakes etc. and only sorry I could not justify a cake to top off my breakfast!!! Very good value for money. Overall really impressed, a great find.

Nice environment and atmosphere. Good range of drinks. Tea was served in a teapot. Our choice of cakes was a bit disappointing; the coffee and walnut was very dry and the carrot cake was ok but tasted a bit sickly and shop-bought. We’ll try something else next time.

I had a white cocoa mocha which was extremely good, a lovely creamy taste with a perfect balance between coffee and chocolate, especially good considering it was made with skimmed milk. My brother and I shared two tray bake cakes - the yoghurt & blackberry flapjack was INSANELY good and the dark choc millionaire shortbread delicious too. A fair number of treat options are pretty unique, and SUCH a lovely change from the dull, homogeneous experience in so many other coffee shops. Prices for coffee and tray bakes are only slightly more than average (though huge slices of cake seem very good value), BUT SO worth it if you really want a PROPER treat rather than just a coffee to keep you going.

Favourite place to go for coffee. Been several times and tried a variety of options. Food is a tiny bit pricey, but it does taste good. Coffee is definitely top tier though.

Excellent place brilliant service. However you claim the the toilet is wheelchair friendly. There is no red cord for alerting staff. I feel like there are many improvements needed within the facility.

Great coffee, cake and food. Plus, the coffee shop was totally accessible, as wife is in a wheelchair.

Excellent paninis, both the breakfast and lunch options are good. They make a very good oat latte and there is also a big selection of cakes. Even a vegan grilled cheese option. Very pleasant! Edit: Also dog friendly!

Terrible bitter coffee, cakes so dry they crumbled to bits when cut with a fork, Over priced and very poor quality.

Awful espresso, so bitter and acrid and typical of poor quality beans and poor brewing. Hot chocolate no better than from a machine at the hospital - insipid. Cake over baked and dry as a chip . All in all, one of the worst places I have visited in many years - loads of others to choose from.

The perfect place for enjoying a cup of coffee in the sunshine. Located on a quiet street parallel to the main road through Brecon.

Popped in for coffee, ordering a cappuccino, latte (both regular sizes) and two scones. Quite astonished when told by the member of staff that the cost was £16.60 as when the said items arrived, the scones were awful! Poorly baked to the point, when the jam was applied, they fell apart ! The coffees were nice but the quality of the scones needs to be addressed, especially when so overpriced. On the positive side, the young lady who served us was pleasant.

I rarely ever review, but I felt I had to for Coffee Box. The cafe is pretty, but the food/drink is genuinely some of the worst I’ve experienced. The children’s jacket potatoes were fine, but so so so hot, the paninis were very basic, and the £3.90 orange juice was fresh from a concentrate carton. Really not good, and massively over-priced for what it was. But on a positive note the coffee was well done, the beans were brewed well, and the cakes look tasty and decadent. Deffo a cake and coffee spot. There are heaps better places in Brecon for lunch.

A good local coffee shop with friendly and welcoming staff. Although it has a limited menu the quality is good and do wear expandable clothes if you try a slice of cake 😳

Hi just came off holiday on the way home we stopped off in Brecon and came across this very lovely restaurant just off the car park . this place is very good on food and drink . The staff are very friendly and helpful which we will call back next time. the food is the best that hade for a long time. There is a lot of food for your money , the bread is so fresh, The place is very clean when you are have finished they come around and clean the floor tables . You do not have to wait so long to have your food has well like some places we have been . If don't believe me just go there and see for your self. Thank you Valerie and Graham from Worcester

The staff are sooo friendly in this café, we went there for the 1st time a few weeks ago when we saw the sign that it was pet friendly (great cos we got a 14 wk old pup) great cafe for the basics, hot cuppa, panini or baked potato. Definitely will be back soon x

I'm a bit of a self confessed coffee connoisseur and honestly the coffee I had here was the best I've had in a long long time. Two nice and tasty panini/toastie meals as well and they were friendly to our dog Bea. Highly recommended.

Nice coffee shop in lovely Brecon. Good range of cakes - victoria sponge was delicious, blueberry sponge rather dry. Savoury snacks were very limited for vegetarian options but the lentil and vegetable soup was tasty. Staff were nice but an older gentleman (I assume, the manager) was rude and lacked the demanour for front of house. Impatient, not a smile, plonking food on the tables and tutting at customers. Soured the experience - a shame.

My mocha frappe was the most flavoursome frappe I have ever tasted (and I have had quite a few in recent years at various coffee shops, cafés and restaurants). It was full of mocha flavour and also had the perfect silky consistency. My mum and step-dad were satisfied with their coffees too, saying that they were nice and hot, rather than warm (as they have experienced in other coffee shops, well known ones included. I will definitely be coming here again, when I next visit Brecon.

Went to the coffee box brecon had to latte's and Victoria sponge the cake was lovely but the coffee was very bitter and tastless and not a big lover of dogs lying all over the floor sorry not for me!!!!!

Very nice and clean good service

Food was ok and place was clean. Very friendly ladies and table service but this was cancelled out by the unfriendly young man who barked at us when we went to go in at 8:30 through the open cafe door earlier that day, saying they weren’t open. Quite expensive coffees too, especially if you want oat milk which is extra 50p per cup even a macchiato, which has literally oat milk foam on it!

Been here quite a few times. Great coffee, nice selection of snacks and cakes, very friendly service. Somewhere to go for coffee lovers.
