Gre at carvery . Very tasty and good selection of meats. Plenty of veg . Well worth a visit

Booked the Aubrey for my sons 40th birthday. There was 32 of us. , We could not fault at all, Staff were amazing, and hats off to the chefs as everyone's food was absolutely delicious & plenty of it. I would not hesitate to book again. Thankyou for a Perfect night.

Apologies for the late booking honestly didn't realize we would be the last ones but top notch service and food is good as always.

Now, a Sunday roast is my thing. It's the most fussiest thing I care about. In fact I would say it would be my last ever go to meal so it has to be bang on. We tried the Aubrey for the first time today not knowing what to expect, just went on pure recommendation. We were greeted at the door with friendly staff who sat us at our table and offered drinks. The waitress then went on to explain that we would be called ready to get our food (if you can't tell already it was carvery). Not long after we were called to go get our food. I must say the selection was superb, the servers behind the counter again very friendly and portions were great!!! The food tasted really really good!!!! The gravy had bags of flavour and as much as you like. We decided to go for a dessert too, a cheeky brownie with ice-cream which also tasted great. We finished up, paid the bill when my daughter decided to go to the toilet, long story short, she was taking ages, one of the staff members could see I had been waiting outside for a while so offered to see if she was okay. In a nutshell we will 100% be back, food was amazing and the staff so helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!!!

A lovely evening celebrating our anniversary. Food was delicious, I highly recommend the sea bass, and the services was friendly and welcoming.

Great "pub grub"! Well sized portions of tasty food. Very accommodating staff, from front of house through to kitchen. No rushing for your table, take your time to have a leisurely and enjoyable meal. (I think Sunday is time control tables). We always end up with one or more of us having a doggy bag... I don't have a dog, so I enjoy it the next day. Food and plates are always hot, hence, the car park is always full.

We have recently moved into the area and needed a new local. How lucky were we!! Food, service, staff and atmosphere are all fantastic. Excellent value for money and beautifully home made food. Portion size is massive! Can recommend everything ive tried on the menu so far!!!! The ribs and the curry have been my absolute favourite so far but still so many to try!!! You have to try this place. Its amazing!!

Nothing special. Meal was huge but had gammon which was undercooked. The plate was swimming in water/fat which made rest of food soggy. Won't go there again. Appeared understaffed as had to wait some time to catch somebodies eye to pay the bill.

We were seated our drinks order taken, drinks arrived and we ordered our meals. The plates were hot and the food was piping hot. Just as it should be. I had the Lasagne and my husband had the Smoked burger. This was not our first visit, we have had lunchtime meals here before, which were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our choice, the Lasagne on the menu says "just like Mamma used to make" and it certainly was. It was also a huge bonus to have proper tasty chips, cooked to perfection with NO SKIN ON - Thank you

My wife and I, rate this place highly…. Higher than the Ivy in Cheltenham for sure, the staff are superb, super efficient and really friendly! Massively recommend this restaurant!

Lovely Sunday lunch carvery. Meats cooked to perfection and veg piping hot. Couldn't fault it. We particularly enjoyed the chocolate fudge cake! Update: Return visit today. Everything was just as perfect as the first visit. Would definitely recommend you to visit. Update 2: our third visit for Sunday lunch and everything was as perfect as before. Couldn't fault it! Update 3: August 2024. Excellent Sunday lunch again.

Had Sunday lunch here recently, the meat could not be faulted, best beef we have ever tasted. Gravy was also really tasty. Sadly the vegetables let the dinner down, carrots and peas were just there, carrots could have been cooked a bit longer. Swede mash was watery and not much taste. The roast potatoes were really hard on the outside, really had been in the oven too long, not much fluffy potato inside. Sorry but we have had better in other resaturants.

Me my partner and a few family members came here for food today, the portions were huge and everything was cooked fresh and you could tell it was home made! Everything came out extremely quick and boiling hot! The staff were extremely polite and friendly and provided extremely good service.

A lively pub that always seems busy. It serves great food and isn't too pricey. We had the 10oz rump steak and chicken and leak pie. The steak came with the best onion rings I've ever had, seems a little thing but he batter was amazing. The chips were lovely and the steak was cooked perfectly. The chicken pie was a puff pastry lid on a dish and a lovely sauce and a good sized filling. Cocktails were 2 for 1 which on a Saturday night is pretty good. We didn't have dessert but other people's looked good. All in all a great night for a reasonable price. We will definitely be back.

Food looked fantastic, steak was a lovely size, staff were helpful and quick. Beautiful decor inside. Only downside was the peppercorn sauce was a little watered down and lacked flavour. Still an enjoyable meal and will be back!

We were a party of 12 including children. We didn't have to wait long for our starters. Everything was hot (temp) and delicious. Our mains were so tasty and there was plenty of food. The service was fantastic. Definitely coming back.

We've recently been here as a party of 6 friends, we all had really really good food with big portions. I had the curry, which was really nice but could have a bit more flavour to it. The service was great, and it was really busy. I must mention the apple pie, omg, have it. So so good. I'd go back just for that. Some of us were able to take food home too, which is a bonus! Lovely staff and location.

Been here for dinner on saterdays a few times now. Really enjoy the food here, the portion size is great. Plenty of choice on the menu, the staff are friendly. There has been a band on every time I've been. Great music

We were told "it's a little bit out of the way but the Sunday Dinner is worth the drive" ...... And they were right Would recommend it to anyone ...the staff could not do enough for you but at the same time we're so informal that you felt like you were instantly family or instantly a regular ....was like coming home The food was lovely and the meat was sliced thickly and the veg was unlimited .... No one policed how many Yorkshire puddings to have unlike some places .... And if you wanted to cover your food with gravy and have an extra gravy boat, then it's "no problem, we will fetch it for you, does your table need one or two?" Cannot find fault with a single thing Brilliant welcome ...fab staff ... Fab food and fab portion sizes 5 stars ..... Would recommend

Visiting family from Hastings. We all had the carvery and omg it was lovely! The staff were super friendly. The guy serving the meat was very helpful and made sure we had what we wanted. The gravy was the best ever!!!! Thank you

Just returned from a meal with friends at the Aubrey ,what a disappointment .My wife and I ordered two rib eye steaks both medium to well done , with no blood which she wrote down both came with blood running from them called waitress and she apologised and took them back to the chef in the meantime we ate a few of the chips which were not cooked enough. Our steaks returned and seemed ok but when we got to the middle of the steaks they were still raw so we left them, when they collected the plates we told the waitress about our steaks and she said the chef was new and she would tell him . We will not be going here again

Very average indeed. Wasn't the best meal I have had and would recommend other restaurants in the area over this. I eat better meals at home. Food wasn't disgusting but just not great! Went as a table of 6 and we all thought the same. Service was very good though I have to say. Was very disappointed and won't be going back.

Sunday dinner is lovely. Served as a carvery you get served the meat and you pick everything else you want. Service was great and for what you pay it exceeds expectation. This was our 4th or 5th visit and we would definitely visit again.

First time here and on business wasn’t that hungry but I had the starter and it was really good ! The pork was melting in my mouth and the sauce was divine ! The salad had the most unusual vinaigrette but combine with the taste of the pork sauce was excellent

We came for a Sunday dinner before which was amazing, everyone said the ribs are just as good so went back on Valentine’s Day! Honestly the nicest ribs we’ve ever had! Couldn’t fault the food or service! The manager and waitress (didn’t get her name) were so friendly and had a laugh with them! Can’t wait to go back for the ribs again! Thank you all for making our valentines really special!

Best carvery I have ever had. Not 1mm surgically cut nuts of meat, proper roasties, real gravy, fantastic setting, amazing staff, why has it taken me so long to discover this little Gem! Warning - food coma highly likely!

Excellent food, great service and very fast this is the best carvery I’ve been too very well organised. If I could find a fault is that the mint sauce was a bit too runny for me but other than that the food was nice and hot generous portions of meat and the gravy was amazing we will definitely be back and would recommend eating here. I found it to be very reasonably priced.

We booked Christmas day lunch ...what a disaster waited almost 3 hours for our main course (was booked in at 12.30) staff were lovely but rushed off their feet!

This place is a must go to! The food and service are second to none. I can't wait to go back there again.

Beautiful food and fab staff, only thing I didn't like was the fact there were quite a lot of people crammed into the bar area. Constantly pulling your chair in to let people pass. Maybe that's something that can be looked into.

Brilliant sized portions of very tasty food and even though it was busy when we arrived the food was ready very quickly. The FOH staff seemed a little inexperienced but still did their jobs well.

Large dog friendly pub with very friendly, helpful and attentive staff. You can have your meals in the bar area which are the dog friendly area. The TV could be turned down a bit in the bar area. For beer, I'd recommend the Atlantic Pale Ale. Carvery offered up a huge selection. The meat was tasty and tender with crispy spuds & yorkies and a lovely gravy. They also offer a vegetarian option with a nut roast & it's own accompanying vegetarian gravy, the nut roast was absolutely huge.

First time for Christmas meal with the family, very nice food and attentive service! Friendly and very helpful staff! Food was very tasty and cooked lovely.

Went for Christmas Dinner, arrived 12.30 and left 3.30 taking desserts with us, when we asked why it was so slow we were told its a dining experience, proberly short for no staff, no music so not at all festive, they did give us a bottle of beer as we entered but no soft drink for children or car drivers, first 2 course's were lovely but the carvery was cold (luckily gravy was hot) turkey and beef was over cooked and dry but by this time over 2hrs 30minutes after arriving it was just a relief to have food, sorry a bit long but when you spend £500 you expect more.

Outstanding quality Christmas dinner, the duck intermediate course is particularly worth a mention. Well spaced courses with no rush at all, would highly recommend. Had to have desserts to take away as couldn’t eat another thing! Thank you

Me and the family come for food today and it was absolutely brilliant. Starters was like a main (ha) all food was cooked perfectly and hot and was great value for money!! We will definitely be coming again in the new year.

Food was good, very generous portions, staff seemed rushed off their feet, ordered a chicken and a mushroom starter. Only had 1 mushroom starter, asked for other starter, but was brought another mushroom starter. Kind of disappointed, but couldn't wait any longer for another starter. Good food and happy with most aspects, just a little disappointed with the communication in service.

Came here after being told that the food was excellent.... well Sunday carvery was ok meat choice pork,gammon,turkey and beef..veg ,the usual... not boiling hot just warm..lacking flavour needed salt but all in all ok, for us 2x carvery 2x coke 2x dessert just shy of £45 so a little bit steep for a middle of the road meal..the place itself is quite busy with the carpark filling up quickly we were sat in the extension so had to walk through the narrow corridor to the carvery itself in the main building.. the big question..would I return?? ... not for a while, as there are a few places closer which serve as good food if not better for the same sort of price

I went to the Aubrey Arms last night as a group of 13. The staff were fantastic and very welcoming. The food was delicious and we didn’t have to wait long before it was brought out. As a big group we all had different orders from the menu, and we all enjoyed the food. I’d definitely go back and I’d definitely recommend them to others.

Find was really lovely and the staff were well mannerd and polught I'd recommend to others as I thoughrely enjoyed

Great atmosphere to watch the rugby although the TV signal is poor. Food was tasty and drinks reasonably priced when we went. Live band which was a bonus and the music was pretty good!

One of the best pubs in Ystradgynlais, especiallyfor food. But then, the competition is not exactly 'fierce' in Ystrad. 😂 The staff were very helpful and kind, some of the best I've experienced. The food was good, but the portion sizes are...American. I wouldn't recommend a starter no matter how hungry you are. People just aren't designed to eat that much.

Went to celibate both my stepdaughters birthdays,all the meals were perfect,service as excellent.my son in law was called out on an emergency,the staff kept his and his wife’s food warm until he returned,ang gave them fresh fries,nothing was too much trouble,highly recommended.
