A lovely meal, great value and service too. Will definitely return again, and would highly recommend the full rack of ribs, which were cooked to perfection.

Carvery was absolutely outstanding, meat was falling apart, everything fresh, gravy absolutely amazing. 10/10, service was absolutely on point, fast and friendly staff. No waiting around, lovely atmosphere, was lucky to geta reservation at such short notice.

Staff had a very nice manner about them. Food was absolutley delicious. The price of our meals was so reasonable in this day and age. Would 1000000% go back time and time again.

Very disappointed with the service. We were a party 14 on a birthday celebration. We had 2 vegan guests in our party who were promised vegan options after enquiring twice to make sure. We were told very abruptly that there was mix up and delivery of vegan sausages had not been delivered, " but you can have a plate of veg instead!" Which our guests declined and watched us all eat around them!! The bar staff were very pleasant,but the waitress was very abrupt in her manner and appeared impatient. It was end of the day and not particularly busy so I have no idea why she appeared so stressed. I don't like leaving bad reviews because we have always enjoyed going to the Aubrey, the food however was lovely but we will not be returning again.

Myself and my partner went here as a birthday celebration, we'd never been before but we're blown away by how effienct the team were and how catering they were. Not a long wait for food at all and drinks were served at an incredible speed. Overall an absolute pleasure to dine here would 10/10 recommend. We were served by KC-May who couldn't have been any nicer, along with all the team in the bar area( our seating area), again, thank you all for a fantastic service and experience, we can't wait to return already!.

I was looking forward to trying the Aubrey as I’d never been here before and I had heard decent things about it. Honestly the worst burger I’ve ever had. I ordered a buttermilk chicken burger and I’m just really disappointed. The burger was smothered in cheese which I understand some people enjoy, the bacon was really fatty and the chicken burger, I personally wouldn’t say it was a buttermilk chicken burger at all. Basic breaded chicken breast which I would never had ordered if I had known. My daughter had chicken nuggets and chips but you can’t really mess that up. My mum had the sea bass with prawns and chorizo which she’s had before and enjoyed. This time she said it was swimming the onions so much she couldn’t taste the fish. My grandfather had steak which in fairness, looked really nice. He said the peppercorn sauce was very bland. The best meal was my grandmothers which was the ham and parsley sauce. Ham looked stunning but unfortunately, was transformed into parsley soup by how much sauce there was. I would have brought this up to a server but unfortunately, not one person came to check is everything was okay. We ended up waiting for our plates to be taken nearly 40 minutes after finishing in a not particularly busy period. When they finally came, we explained that we weren’t happy with the food and were told it’s definitely a buttermilk coating that they buy. My mum mentioned about the seabass when paying as was told there’s 2 head chefs depending on what day you come, the food can be different. Which okay, yeah, I get that but there should still be some consistency. I understand how our experience might be the minority but I can’t say I’ll be returning.

We had sunday lunch for mothers day.The dinner was absolutely delicious. The let down was we weren't offered a dessert after we finished our dinner. I understand there was an extra sitting but we should of been asked if we wanted a dessert as there was plenty of time before we were asked to leave our table.I have given 3 stars for the service as we weren't asked if we wanted dessert.

Good hearty food with considerable portions and delicious deserts. Busy on a Sunday and difficult/busy car park as only minor negatives.

I booked a table place over the phone for the 20th of March for our wedding anniversary on the 10 of March 2025, they took all my details on that day. So when I went on the 20th March 2025, we in to the pub, waited by the restaurant door way waiting to be asked nobody approached me just walking on passed me until I approached them. I told them I booked on the 10th March for the 20th and I said it is a special occasion they asked What's the name I told them and they said there is nobody on the system under any name that you have given and I said but I booked the table on the 10 March 2025 over the phone for 2 people and explains there was also a dietary needs too. But they check again and nobody was booked for the 20th March for 8pm. Then they said we have some room and offers a table that was fine but the point is I booked a table over the phone on the 10th and they did not actually book the 20th for me and my husbands ANNIVERSARY special day, this was disappointing to know when you phone up the reserve a table it doesn't actually get booked.

Carvery was 10/10 polite staff went above and beyond very pleased and very reasonably priced :) would definitely come back

Great place. The Food was absolutely fantastic once asked to the maitre what was their best dish, she recommended the ribs and I must say they were outstanding. The service afterwards was not as good as while the maitre was on the floor. However they were all very polite and attentive within reason. Will definitely repeat the experience. The food was delicious.

Called there for a carvery, which wasn't available. Had the Bass, which came with new potatoes, but nothing else. Peas would have been an extra side dish at extra cost - never seen this before. As a result the plate was very bland and colourless. I left the establishment hungry and at £17 for just one course is not acceptable. Wife had the fajitas and chips, which she was happy enough with It was pricey for what we got, and unfortunately this is another place we wont be returning to.

Absolutely insane from start to finish. Came for a late Valentines meal on Saturday 15th Feb. Staff were all so lush, smiley+ friendly. As soon as I walked in, a male member of staff complimented my dress. Food was absolutely impeccable, best burger I’ve ever tasted. Even had a nice surprise with a band starting whilst we were there and we were sat right infront of them. We are a lover of live music so it didn’t bother us whilst we were eating and they were a great band too. Such a lovely, romantic setting with rose on the table and ambient lighting. Cannot wait to come back and try more of the extensive, UNIQUE menu <3

I had a full rack of ribs , normal lovely proper chips , lovely buttered mushrooms. All three were wonderful for the price . To be honest , the best ribs I’ve had . The beer was also to my liking . Great staff . Well recommended.

Absolutely lovely meal here tonight! Would definitely recommend. We haven't long moved into the area, just wanted the night off from cooking! The staff were so attentive, couldn't do enough for us! Booked for new years day for 7 in our family. All different tastes and 2 vegetarians. None of us had been before. Absolutely outstanding food! Great varied choice for all and Huge portions and all very very fresh. Such good value for money and we even came away with leftovers. Will be a family regular now. The Aubrey Armed and deranged! After leaving the warmth of Asda I found myself wondering along the road in a heavy fog. A proper peasouper. Reminded me of the time I lived in London during the 1880s. I definitely wasn't in Whitechaple though. Definitely, 100% wasn't there in April 1888... I was on holidays. I have an alibi. I'm not Jack the Ripper. Pinky swear. Anyway... I digress. As I wondered up the road I found a cosy little pub. The Aubery Arms. I walked in through the door and was greeted warmly by the server. I sat down by a window, view was less than inspiring. I mean seeing three women dressed in "Sports Direct Best" fighting over half eaten kebab in a 'Home Bargains' car park was entertaining (in the same way a live colonoscopy is entertaining. You watch but your slightly confused and a little aroused). I looked at the menu and ordered the Calamary starter and the Pork and Prawn curry. I also ordered a delicious pint of ice cold beer. The beer was crisp and beautiful. Really hit the spot. All was going well until my starter arrived. The calamari, lord have mercy. They were chewy and the batter was raw. I could have used it to restring my sling shot. I could have used it as a rubber band. I could have tied the pieces together and used it as a bungee rope!!! No thank you! Then the pork curry arrived. Like that song says "You ain't seen nothing yet!". Whoever devised the idea of using cider braised pork on a prawn curry needs their head examined. Awful. The flavour was like nothing I've ever eaten and nothing I ever want to eat again. Aubrey Arms 1.5/5 (the 1.5 is because the beer was cold) A review I forgot to publish a few years back

Could of done with the chips being cooked a little longer. But still very nice food.

Excellent Sunday dinner. I've been back about 4 times. Excellent every time and staff are great brilliant service.

Ordered a takeaway. The fiery ribs were awful. The meat was tender but the sauce was basically a cheap sweet chilli sauce drenching everything. No heat, just extremely sweet and sickly. It was gross, I couldnt eat them so wasted £20. The sticky ribs weren't that good either,. Again another £20 wasted. Definitely won't be ordering them again. Seems like standards are dropping as they used to be really nice. Better local places to eat which charge less!!

The service was below average.the food was edible but cold..ambience was ok.average price.wouldnt recommend to anyone..12 of us and we all agreed we wouldnt be going there again also the old lady front of house was auite rude..manners are essential...

Booked the Aubrey for my sons 40th birthday. There was 32 of us. , We could not fault at all, Staff were amazing, and hats off to the chefs as everyone's food was absolutely delicious & plenty of it. I would not hesitate to book again. Thankyou for a Perfect night.

Now, a Sunday roast is my thing. It's the most fussiest thing I care about. In fact I would say it would be my last ever go to meal so it has to be bang on. We tried the Aubrey for the first time today not knowing what to expect, just went on pure recommendation. We were greeted at the door with friendly staff who sat us at our table and offered drinks. The waitress then went on to explain that we would be called ready to get our food (if you can't tell already it was carvery). Not long after we were called to go get our food. I must say the selection was superb, the servers behind the counter again very friendly and portions were great!!! The food tasted really really good!!!! The gravy had bags of flavour and as much as you like. We decided to go for a dessert too, a cheeky brownie with ice-cream which also tasted great. We finished up, paid the bill when my daughter decided to go to the toilet, long story short, she was taking ages, one of the staff members could see I had been waiting outside for a while so offered to see if she was okay. In a nutshell we will 100% be back, food was amazing and the staff so helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!!!

Great "pub grub"! Well sized portions of tasty food. Very accommodating staff, from front of house through to kitchen. No rushing for your table, take your time to have a leisurely and enjoyable meal. (I think Sunday is time control tables). We always end up with one or more of us having a doggy bag... I don't have a dog, so I enjoy it the next day. Food and plates are always hot, hence, the car park is always full.

We have recently moved into the area and needed a new local. How lucky were we!! Food, service, staff and atmosphere are all fantastic. Excellent value for money and beautifully home made food. Portion size is massive! Can recommend everything ive tried on the menu so far!!!! The ribs and the curry have been my absolute favourite so far but still so many to try!!! You have to try this place. Its amazing!!

Nothing special. Meal was huge but had gammon which was undercooked. The plate was swimming in water/fat which made rest of food soggy. Won't go there again. Appeared understaffed as had to wait some time to catch somebodies eye to pay the bill.

We were seated our drinks order taken, drinks arrived and we ordered our meals. The plates were hot and the food was piping hot. Just as it should be. I had the Lasagne and my husband had the Smoked burger. This was not our first visit, we have had lunchtime meals here before, which were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our choice, the Lasagne on the menu says "just like Mamma used to make" and it certainly was. It was also a huge bonus to have proper tasty chips, cooked to perfection with NO SKIN ON - Thank you

My wife and I, rate this place highly…. Higher than the Ivy in Cheltenham for sure, the staff are superb, super efficient and really friendly! Massively recommend this restaurant!

Lovely Sunday lunch carvery. Meats cooked to perfection and veg piping hot. Couldn't fault it. We particularly enjoyed the chocolate fudge cake! Update: Return visit today. Everything was just as perfect as the first visit. Would definitely recommend you to visit. Update 2: our third visit for Sunday lunch and everything was as perfect as before. Couldn't fault it! Update 3: August 2024. Excellent Sunday lunch again.

Had Sunday lunch here recently, the meat could not be faulted, best beef we have ever tasted. Gravy was also really tasty. Sadly the vegetables let the dinner down, carrots and peas were just there, carrots could have been cooked a bit longer. Swede mash was watery and not much taste. The roast potatoes were really hard on the outside, really had been in the oven too long, not much fluffy potato inside. Sorry but we have had better in other resaturants.

Me my partner and a few family members came here for food today, the portions were huge and everything was cooked fresh and you could tell it was home made! Everything came out extremely quick and boiling hot! The staff were extremely polite and friendly and provided extremely good service.

A lively pub that always seems busy. It serves great food and isn't too pricey. We had the 10oz rump steak and chicken and leak pie. The steak came with the best onion rings I've ever had, seems a little thing but he batter was amazing. The chips were lovely and the steak was cooked perfectly. The chicken pie was a puff pastry lid on a dish and a lovely sauce and a good sized filling. Cocktails were 2 for 1 which on a Saturday night is pretty good. We didn't have dessert but other people's looked good. All in all a great night for a reasonable price. We will definitely be back.

Food looked fantastic, steak was a lovely size, staff were helpful and quick. Beautiful decor inside. Only downside was the peppercorn sauce was a little watered down and lacked flavour. Still an enjoyable meal and will be back!

We were a party of 12 including children. We didn't have to wait long for our starters. Everything was hot (temp) and delicious. Our mains were so tasty and there was plenty of food. The service was fantastic. Definitely coming back.

We've recently been here as a party of 6 friends, we all had really really good food with big portions. I had the curry, which was really nice but could have a bit more flavour to it. The service was great, and it was really busy. I must mention the apple pie, omg, have it. So so good. I'd go back just for that. Some of us were able to take food home too, which is a bonus! Lovely staff and location.

Been here for dinner on saterdays a few times now. Really enjoy the food here, the portion size is great. Plenty of choice on the menu, the staff are friendly. There has been a band on every time I've been. Great music

We were told "it's a little bit out of the way but the Sunday Dinner is worth the drive" ...... And they were right Would recommend it to anyone ...the staff could not do enough for you but at the same time we're so informal that you felt like you were instantly family or instantly a regular ....was like coming home The food was lovely and the meat was sliced thickly and the veg was unlimited .... No one policed how many Yorkshire puddings to have unlike some places .... And if you wanted to cover your food with gravy and have an extra gravy boat, then it's "no problem, we will fetch it for you, does your table need one or two?" Cannot find fault with a single thing Brilliant welcome ...fab staff ... Fab food and fab portion sizes 5 stars ..... Would recommend

Visiting family from Hastings. We all had the carvery and omg it was lovely! The staff were super friendly. The guy serving the meat was very helpful and made sure we had what we wanted. The gravy was the best ever!!!! Thank you

Just returned from a meal with friends at the Aubrey ,what a disappointment .My wife and I ordered two rib eye steaks both medium to well done , with no blood which she wrote down both came with blood running from them called waitress and she apologised and took them back to the chef in the meantime we ate a few of the chips which were not cooked enough. Our steaks returned and seemed ok but when we got to the middle of the steaks they were still raw so we left them, when they collected the plates we told the waitress about our steaks and she said the chef was new and she would tell him . We will not be going here again

Very average indeed. Wasn't the best meal I have had and would recommend other restaurants in the area over this. I eat better meals at home. Food wasn't disgusting but just not great! Went as a table of 6 and we all thought the same. Service was very good though I have to say. Was very disappointed and won't be going back.

Sunday dinner is lovely. Served as a carvery you get served the meat and you pick everything else you want. Service was great and for what you pay it exceeds expectation. This was our 4th or 5th visit and we would definitely visit again.

First time here and on business wasn’t that hungry but I had the starter and it was really good ! The pork was melting in my mouth and the sauce was divine ! The salad had the most unusual vinaigrette but combine with the taste of the pork sauce was excellent

We came for a Sunday dinner before which was amazing, everyone said the ribs are just as good so went back on Valentine’s Day! Honestly the nicest ribs we’ve ever had! Couldn’t fault the food or service! The manager and waitress (didn’t get her name) were so friendly and had a laugh with them! Can’t wait to go back for the ribs again! Excellent food, great service and very fast this is the best carvery I’ve been too very well organised. If I could find a fault is that the mint sauce was a bit too runny for me but other than that the food was nice and hot generous portions of meat and the gravy was amazing we will definitely be back and would recommend eating here. I found it to be very reasonably priced.
