We always have a drink or bite to eat here when we visit Glentress. It is way, way better than the cafes located in Glentress.
On our recent visist we arrived to eat before a big party of 30 was booked and we all had lovely burgers, washed down with some excellent beers. Well priced, lovely food and fab service. Will be back again next time we are staying near Glentress mountain biking.
New to us , so meeting with another couple to surprise them by taking out for a celebraterary anniversary lunch.
Three course meal was had by all. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was amazing and fluent service during our meal.
5 stars to the team for our meal and service.
Definantly be back.
Visiting from fife and cumbernauld.
Thankyou.
A decent neighbourhood tratt with nice, freshly-made, authentic food. Lamb polpette, pizza napoli, cannelloni were all very good, pasta arrabiata maybe too fiery for some. The premises are small without feeling cramped, with evening sunshine streaming in. Pleasant service, restaurant and toilets spotless. Three of us had a nice evening with two courses and a bottle of Montepulciano for less than £80.
The word inspiration equals impunity because the food has nothing Jamaican about it, the prices are astronomical and the portions are ridiculously small (4 slices of banana £4.50) which doesn't even make 1 whole banana ridiculous🙄.
The Jerk sauce is yellow (I've never seen one like that). The flavor isn't there which is an insult to Jamaican cuisine. Now I don't know if that's because there are no Jamaicans in the kitchen or if it was adapted to the Scottish palate 🤷🏾♀️
Last time we were on Arran, the café was sadly closed, and so we were very excited to try it this time. Very friendly staff and a lovely selection of cakes and traybakes to choose from. Lovely views from inside the café and from the outside seating. Would recommend if passing and we will return soon.
Had lunch and cakes here, one of the best places for to go for food during the day on the island. It’s well liked and well known by a lot of visitors. People have been going for 20 years+. Got some history about it and the place has never changed. Highly recommend the specialty meringue cake dish. It’s huge but worth it. Really disappointed about the annoying opening hours. We drove to visit one day on a Saturday and it was closed. Turns out it was SHUT FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY, MONDAY EVERY WEEK DURING THE SUMMER PEAK PERIOD!! And we’ve found it it’ll be closed over winter too. We hear it’s to do with staffing issues which is a current issue but it was really disappointing to be closed on such busy peak days. Doesn’t make sense and we drove all that way
