Madame Mew's in Aberdeen City

Fantastic place for thai, many options for food and also big menu on the wall if you struggle to see the menu. The only dish i wouldn’t recommend would be the oyster sauce chicken which was disappointingly bland everything else was so good. The waitresses were also really kind.

The restaurant was busy when we arrived without a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in to a table by the window. Larp Moo ลาบหมู which is a minced pork salad with ground rice and chilli was delicious and washed down with a large Tiger.

We have visited here many times, and the food is consistently good. Truly authentic Thai food, portions are generous and staff are always helpful. I particularly enjoy the Thai sour ribs they are packed with flavour and the beautiful sourness makes them a fantastic choice. A few more of our favourites are, Moo Ping - juicy flavoursome pork skewers and Pork Penang, a beautiful curry with the right amount of chilli kick. A must try is the beef salad - lots of spicy steak and its juices set on a fresh salad!

Family favourite. Food always amazing. Portions good, decently priced. Good menu choices. Authentic, fresh and yummy. Iced tea is addictive!

After 2 months in Thailand last year I had to try Madam Mew. Great selection of fresh dishes and friendly staff. Prices are good for a city centre restaurant. Good drink range. We'll definitely be back.

Went on Sunday night to Madame Mews Thai cafe in Aberdeen - place was busy - we waited for 50 minutes - for our food to be served- new customers came after us and were served within 10 minutes. Food was average- ordered my food spicy- but was bland- - The staff are nice and apologised - but really disappointed - not sure we are going back - shame - seems food nice-good reviews, but waiting for nearly an hour was too much.

A gem of a place just off Union Street offering great Thai food at very reasonable prices. We had a variety of dishes between 4 of us and all were very tasty and well presented. I had the Pad Thai which i loved. Suggest you book up as it is quite a small place but definitely worth a visit

Food decent, we had pad Thai, curry and a variety of starters but flavours were pretty similar. It was a bit on the pricey side, particularly for the drinks, with £6 charge for one pint. The cold and draughty restaurant ruined the overall experience and we had to eat wearing our coats!

Another excellent meal and service.highly recommend!! I have sat in quite a few times now and had many take-away. Madam Mews is excellent value for money in this day and age despite what some idiots say on here that prob have no clue in what it takes to run a business and prob don't moan paying £8 quid for a luke warm rubbish mass produced Mc Donald's :-) The menu is varied and friendly staff who take pride in the place

I was on a work trip to Aberdeen and I went to this restaurant because I love oriental food, but I've only been to Thai restaurants a few times. The attendant recommended the Pad Thai and so it was. At first I found the smell of the dish a little strange. The taste isn't good either. It's the first time I haven't been able to finish a dish in a restaurant. Obviously, taste is personal, but now I saw that other people here complained about the taste of Pad Thai and I thought it was important to record it. I don't want to hurt anyone's business, but perhaps the restaurant wants to revise its recipe and other distracted customers like me might want to avoid this dish.

This is a lovely cafe with a very extensive menu, perhaps too big? The pad Thai and chicken stir fry noodles were both generous portions and delicious. The staff were efficient and the place was very busy. Might suggest that you ask for a table at the back or upstairs as the front was colder with people coming / going. We enjoyed and we'll be back!

Looked nice from outside, enhanced by the lovely smiling staff, even before we chose to eat there. Simple , colourful decor. Well presented menu, with clear description. Well priced. Excellent efficient welcoming staff.

Had heard of this place whilst it was in the market but never had the chance to try it. Recently visited with a friend for dinner before lockdown and can’t believe I’ve not been before. Was blown away by how good the food was (and the variety of choice available, found a dish I had in Thailand but had yet to find replicated in the uk to such a high standard) and would definitely recommend to anyone. Have since ordered a takeaway with my parents and they also enjoyed it, although not being massive fans of thai food they also agreed they would have it again. Having seen another review complaining about the price increase I’m glad they have increased their prices. When we got our bill we looked at each other in disbelief that it didn’t cost more! Considering the mains include rice I think it’s very reasonably priced and you’d struggle to find prices this good else where in the city.

Clearly the rent in Summer St is going to be more than what it was in the market, but you shouldn't be paying the same for a sit-in meal as for a take-away. The beauty of the old cafe in the market was that it was cheap and cheerful, around £5 a dish. Well, we're now knocking on £9 a dish, and for the first time, I didn't order cos I weighed up what else I could get in that price bracket...i fear loyal custom may be lost if profit margins come before bums on seats...

Never visited Madame Mews in Aberdeen Market, but decided to give the new location a try. Four of us booked for a 4pm early teatime slot and we all thoroughly enjoyed the visit.The food was tasty, well presented and gave us a chance to try some things we had never had before. My eyes were obviously bigger than my appetite, so ended up taking home a boxful of food for the next day! All that at a very reasonable price in nice surroundings with pleasant and cheerful staff (who were scrupulously Covid compliant) made for a great experience.Highly recommended.

As regular diners at the original Madame Mew's in Aberdeen Indoor Market we have missed it terribly since the Market closed down. We were therefore delighted to hear Mew has now opened in Summer Street. The food was as delicious as we remembered it & all the staff still as pleasant & helpful as ever. The new surroundings are really lovely & a vast improvement on the old dilapidated Market. All in all Madame Mew's is even better than before & my daughter & I look forward to many more visits. PS the only thing I miss is waving to Mew in the kitchen!

Absolutely fantastic place. Now visited three times since December (this review has been written in January) and all three times has been great.You will usually struggle to find a seat here as it appears that it’s reputation has had a phenomenal impact on the restaurant. Ordered my usual here today (number 38 on the menu) and was just as good as the last time. The chicken was tasty and the sweet sauce they use is delicious! I also tried some of their iced tea and I was presently surprised at how good this was! Better than expected again and all for a reasonable price.Staff were very friendly and could not fault them. They told me to go and get a table and they will be over to take my order. Staff were rushed off their feet but still got served relatively fast for a completely full restaurant (not a single table free). I will continue to visit this hidden gem in the heart of Aberdeen for as long as their prices stay reasonable and their service stays at good as it currently is.

We had jjust arrived in Aberdeen and had read about this place, and it was close to where we were staying. It is, as it says, a cafe, but selling excellent food. The lady who took my order was very helpful and made a couple of suggestions to my choice which was good. I had the Kai Tod Med Almond, while my wife had the Phad Thai. My meal was absolutely delicious - couldn't fault it! My wife's food was also good, but it was such an enormous helping it was almost demoralising! She ate what she could, I helped her out with a good few spoonfuls, yet there was still almost half left. It is not often we leave good food uneaten, and I suppose as a customer I would rather have too much rather than too little. We will be back, but I dubt if she would have the phad thai!

Been to Madame Mews many many times and will be back many more. Location may not appear the best at first however the authentic Thai food is by far the best Thai food I ever had out with Thailand. It’s more a cafe than restaurant atmosphere however if it’s quality Thai food you are looking for then this is the Place to go. Love it

I love Madame Mews. I have visited several times and have never been disappointed. The portions are huge and great value for money. There satay sauce is one the best i have had i just wish they gave a bigger serving of it with the chicken satay screwers. Also i can't remember what it is called but item 22b on the menu is delicious!!

El menú es extenso y debe reducirse para que puedan centrarse en la calidad en unos pocos platos en lugar de en la cantidad (grandes porciones) de platos mediocres. El pollo en el pad thai estaba precocido y gomoso y la porción era demasiado grande. Las verduras estaban perfectamente preparadas, pero el plato y el khao - phad eran simplemente insípidos, lo cual fue muy decepcionante. Si quieres un plato principal para 7. 40 este es el lugar para ti, pero recuerda, solo obtienes lo que pagas. No volveremos

Place is fantastic. Would really recommend this place. Phad Thai reminded me of Thailand, the staff are nice and we didn’t wait long for food.
