We were keen to try as we heard such great things however we left severely disappointed. My husband and I ordered the corrie farm eggs on sourdough ( me poached and him scrambled). We were asked if we would like to double up the eggs. I presumed that this meant doubling up the quantity of eggs however upon receiving the breakfast we discovered that it meant one or two eggs. We were dissatisfied with the quantity given that double eggs on sourdough was £14,95 per person. We should maybe come back and order something else but it was a bit steep to charge this for 2 eggs on sourdough we thought. Service was quick although plates were moved whilst I was finishing my last bite which was slightly annoying. Lovely setting and people were nice that served us. Thanks

Beautiful space, and tasty food but for an average of £ 35 for a main course you are expecting some sort of service. We asked to change our table because we were seated infront of the bar even though the store was empty but the waiter (barely having any customer service skills) refused cause apparently all the tables were booked and selected by their customers. The whole place was empty and as we were leaving a couple walked in,they didnt like their table and the lovely female waitress accommodated them.It took a while for our starters to arrive and overall the service was really bad.I have a feeling that if the female waitress was at the store when we arrived we would have a completely difference experience.

This was my family's first time in Cafe Cornvina and it was amazing, beautiful on the inside, attentive, tradition waiters with speedy service but not so quick that you felt rushed. It is the type of place that suits all the family, but gives very romantic date night vibes too! We will definetly be back.

I usually come into the restaurant but tonight We ordered for takeaway, Absolutely sensational, if we could give you 10 stars we would. Pasta dishes we had were absolutely delicious, pizza and starters were beautiful. Thank you for fantastic service. Such lovely staff. We will be back soon.

We only stayed one night, but we wish it had been longer because it was an amazing stay!! The castle was gorgeous, the staff was amazing, and the food…we had one of our best meals of the trip at Sandemans. All of the dishes were delicious, but the whole experience was even better because the sommelier was so knowledgable and took our meal to a whole other level. Also, the spa was such a nice bonus. We would highly recommend staying here!

This review is more for “The Hidden Lane”! It’s aptly called ‘Hidden’ as it is located very inconspicuously! You blink and miss the entrance to the Lane! Although it is recommended for people visiting Glasgow to visit this place, I would suggest that you can give it a miss. Nothing much to do once you reach there!

This was the first place we chose for a meal after returning to Scotland after a year, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. We both enjoyed the broccoli and bacon soup with a delicious cheese scone. It was incredibly tasty and filling. We arrived quite hungry and left with full bellies and big smiles on our faces. The staff was very friendly, and the view was stunning. If you get the chance to visit, please do—you won’t regret it!

Food was amazing me and my wife shared two starters, halloumi and hummus starters, I had mixed chicken and lamb kebab, included two large pieces of each meat, onions and peppers, my wife had Ispannakli Tavuk, chicken pieces in a creamy white wine and mushroom sauce on sautéed spinach both came with a very tasty salad and rice. Our meat was cooked to perfection and we couldn't fault anything. Very generous portions. All round good value for money £79 with bottle of wine. One small negative, gents bathroom in need of update but ladies was lovely and spotless. Would definitely recommend.

A hotel where they take care of the details. Spacious, clean rooms, with a comfortable bed. The bathroom in the room was modern and newly restored, but the rooms of the people you are traveling with were not that lucky, although everything was very clean. I can't comment on the restaurant, but I can comment on the extensive Whiskey's menu in the area, although about £10 for 25ml (the cheapest), a bit high in price. Breakfast, wonderful. Continental area where you serve everything from toast, fruit, yogurt, to a visible area where a chef cooks the hot dishes that you order at the table. The service was magnificent, as was the food. Although the location is not ideal if you want to walk to the city, it is a quiet place with parking and no noise. Recommended, but it is true that it lacks an extra touch and attention to detail to be a 5 star.
