Lost in Leith in Edinburgh, City of

Well, it's a Saturday night. We're pushed into the lean to on the side of the building because of a private do. There's more people in the lean to than in the actual do. Bit crap as it's 22.15. Ah well. Never mind. There's always somewhere else to go.

Great place to go for a well stocked pub/bar full of really good local beers (that regularly change), and the hosted pizza is delicious.

Lost in leith was one of our faves for the reasonable pricing and vibes but after tonight, don’t know if we’ll come back. They had closed off the bar due to a function which is completely fair (keep in mind there wasn’t one person at this function when we arrived and it looked all set up already). Told us to sit outside and someone would come serve us. We sat there for 20 mins. No one came. When we went inside to ask if we can be served, they told my partner to go sit back outside and someone will see to us. No one came. They only served about 4 tables. Did not care about new customers. Including ourselves, we saw 3 other groups of people leave because they did not want to serve us. There was plenty of staff. We saw staff come out, look at us then walk back inside. No excuse really.

Lost in Leith is a great beer / bar and was a relaxing stop on our trip to the area. There were plenty of options on tap and great seating indoors and outdoors. Would come back!

Used to come here every week for years, but recently the owners have decided to cancel all their planned events and turn it into a nothing bar and at this point, I've stopped recommending it.

Favourite bar in all of Edinburgh. Nice and out of the way of the major tourist areas. Mostly frequented by Leith locals. Clean and tidy, friendly bar staff, good drinks and dog friendly! No food but you can get pizza delivered from Pizza Geeks

I love going to Lost in Leith for their Spoken Word and Music events. The line ups are expertly curated and offer a wide variety of acts and mediums. I feel like there's something for everyone happening at this bar. One of my favourites recently is Steve Kettley who composes brilliantly unique songs that defy genre. The bar staff are friendly and attentive, and you can tell they know their beer. I really like the atmosphere at Lost in Leith and they have plenty of seating options depending on your vibe, whether you want to be part of the events, have a quiet drink, or enjoy the sunshine outside.

This place was a great find! Bartender was so friendly, talked about the place and let me taste different beers to see what I would like. They also have a nice whisky flight from the local area. There’s also an outdoor seating area on the path of the commercial quay. Great vibes, drinks, and times!

Great wee space. Was there for a gig and the show was great, bar staff was super helpful, overall a fun night out.

Used to come here every week for years, but recently the owners have decided to turn it into an event space instead of a pub and taproom and at this point, I've stopped recommending it. It's no longer a family-friendly, dog-friendly place you can come to and chat with your friends. The last few times I've been there at around 6-8pm on Friday/Saturday, there were the DJs that were so loud you couldn't hear your friends which I wouldn't expact at 7pm when most venues are still pretty chill. It's odd because there's usually hardly anyone in the main room listening to the music early in the evening as the clientele who come for the club nights seem to arrive later but they still crank uo the volume. Last time the DJ had to come over and beg us to come listen to him but I was there with my dog and he was starting to dislike the noise so we had to leave. Weekend evenings are also really understaffed. If it's not raining, the benches outside fill up and the line at the bar can take half an hour. I've even chatted to the staff about the new direction it's taking, and a couple of them were a bit confused by it too and said the owner is really pushing for it to be a community space. I'm all for more community spaces but it seems a bit misguided in this case when there's a loud, ticketed event every weekend that alienates the loyal customers who have been coming here for years because they love the beer.

Went last night for the first time for the live music. Band was great, beer selection was top notch, the bartenders, though really friendly and helpful, were painfully overworked and under staffed. The entire night there was what I could only describe as a mob surrounding the bar. It took at least fifteen if not twenty minutes to reach the bar itself, before even getting to speak to anyone. I really wanted to like this place. The beer selection is really tasty and interesting (though I could hardly justify buying different types to try as the wait times were so long), and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, but if this is what a Saturday night is like, there is no way I am even coming close to this place during the Fringe. TLDR: This place would be perfect if they had more staff on.

Excellent service with very good selection of high quality ales. Not been a real ale bar that has had better tasting ales than this. Highly recommend.

Came in for a few fresh pints on a random Tues. Bar staff were very attentive and helped me find the right beer for me (I sampled several first!) Piers kept me in good chat, and I had a lovely evening. Beautiful, chilled location, would highly recommend. My only regret is not actually drinking anything made by Campervan; next time...

Nice place, but the staff was rude and not helpful at all... No "thank you" or "please". Badly poor Guinness.

It takes a huge amount of effort to get to where Lost is. In London the pub railway arches are often characterised by mould. Here, the similar arches (not sure they are railway?!) are spotlessly clean. I've docked a star (sorry) because it just lacked the je ne sais quoi for me. Generous beer selection although unsure what was local and really bias towards American and IPA. There are other styles! Service very transactional (fair enough...was a decent quiz evening).

One of our favourite tappies. Always have a really great range of excellent and interesting local tipples and very happy to nerd out about beer. Geordie guy is always a delight to talk to, as are all staff and probably deserve a pay rise.

Great beer & great atmosphere. Perfect place to have a drink on a cold, dark, wintery day/evening. I love the brickwork & arched ceilings. It feels quite cave-like in a cosy way. They are also putting on some nice events on a regular basis, including music & spoken word.

Great venue, nice ambient but just a bit difficult to find and with city center price.

The bar is not opened until 🕓 4 pm. But here are a lot of places to charge your phone 📱

Cozy tap room on quay Leith, Campervan, other local beers and snacks at the bar. Friendly, knowledgeable servers, beer tastes offered. In and outside seating, appears to have a full calendar of events. Accessible restrooms.

Ordered a beer listed as a dessert neipa and it tasted like coffee blended with a can of Heinz beans. Let the staff know I was confused and they said I could purchase a new beer. This is the worst beer I’ve ever had

Went for a pub quiz the other day, great atmosphere and nice bar with a class selection on tap. However there was a lady sat right beside the quizmaster, possibly her friend, and approximately 11-13 times she walks over to a specific team and whispers them an answer then sits beside the quizmaster again. Said team proceeds to win the quiz. Not a sore loser by any means but it sucks the fun out of a quiz that everyone tries hard in.

Comprehensive beer offering from the folks at Campervan Brewery as well as a wide selection of other breweries and guest casks. Good wine selection with an eye on sustainable wineries, as well as well-made cocktails. Cool interior with a conservatory area in the back, as well as outdoor seating on Commercial Quay. Super friendly, well trained staff who know their stuff

Venue = incredibly beautiful and snug. Beer selection = fantastic, really nice choice. Everything else = really disappointing. I wanted to like this place a lot and was very excited to try it. Service was abysmal: two people on to serve one of their busiest weeknights (Quiz Wednesdays). One was a manager who spent more time staring at her bookings screen than serving customers, and another actively avoided taking orders at the bar. At one point there were 9 punters at the bar, waiting, and the manager could not be arsed to jump in and help, even after she noticed that her colleague had just received a group order (like 8 different drinks at once) with everyone else stood at the bar. BTW, there is a good selection of beer - why not shout that from the rooftops? There was one small paper menu on a clipboard at the bar that all the punters in the queue had to pass around. I've got perfect eyesight and I couldn't half read the scribble above the taps on the wall beyond the bar. It wasn't terribly clear on their website what the food situation was like, but even if Pizza Geeks was any good (it's not), the last thing I want to do when I sit down at a bar is pull out my phone and go through six steps of a glorified Deliveroo just to eat. If they have such a good relationship with PGs then why not print some paper menus and provide a service to contact them on your behalf? On another note, it's 2023 - why are there so many QR codes scattered around the bar to communicate anything? Perhaps showing my age but when I go to a pub I don't want my phone involved. The whole experience was poor - I'm tempted to rate it less than three stars but I understand they might have been shortstaffed. It doesn't help that it's priced at EH1 when it should be a bit better value in EH6 but I digress.

Cool wee bar in a trendy area, really friendly staff and a good selection of local beers. They don't do food but you can get pizza from Pizza Geeks down the road delivered to your table which more than makes up for it.

Nice pub with a selection of own brews (the ones I tasted were all good but none exceptional). Draught beer also sold in 'schooners' (2/3rds of a pint). Vaulted brick ceilings, good atmosphere.

Cool beer bar that feels a bit swanky. Nice list of Campervan and guest drafts. It seems like a restaurant, but it’s just a bar. We ordered pizza from next door which was convenient, but way too expensive.

Great little bar in a vaulted room. This bar is all about the beer. Good selection and the bar person knew her stuff. Not that busy when we were in but I bet it does get busy in the evening. Not that near to other pubs and bars you have to make a little detour to visit. I'd say make the detour, it's worth it.

A must try for real ale fans. Great service, very knowledgeable staff.

Great staff, great range of beers, great location both inside and out, especially when it's a nice day. You can order food very easily from Pizza Geeks across the road and have it delivered, but they are also happy for you to order from anywhere and have it delivered.

Went there few days ago, loved the place, the atmosphere, the lovely staff and of course the beers ! My god, these beers are so great ! Keep going!

Good quality mirrors and lighting in the guys toilet in this innovative Leith bar that has a distinct continental feel to it. 'The mirror man.' So many mirrors. So little time....

Great range of drinks, handsome venue. Wasn't able to order a pizza in when I visited (it was very early) but the takeaway that delivers to them looked great.

Very friendly staff and nice setting. Choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Cocktails were amazing 🤙

I can't express how welcoming this place is. We've spent a couple of hours there, and almost instantly felt like home. Welcoming, smiling and knowledgeable staff, very good stuff to taste. A must in Leith, if not in the area of Edinburgh.

Brewery tap beside canal. Make sure you head for the commercial quay entrance . Great range of quality small batch brews including fruits and sours from the nearby Campervan Brewery which I predict is heading for world domination if they can keep the quality so high

Enjoyed the fact you could sit outside and have your drink. A little rain brought us back inside and the long tables meant we could continue our chat as was outside!

Took a friend to experience this place when he was over from NZ, as I knew he'd like it. Great atmosphere, very friendly & knowledgeable staff & they'll give you little tasters of a few beers to see if it's what you were after, taste-wise. My friend wanted a hazy ale, and was able to decide on one via tasters of the ones on offer. He really appreciated that! I went for my usual favourites - the sour, Mimosa, and the Hoppy Botanist with its rhubarb & custard flavours, and the Leith Juice. There's so much to try here that you could get very drunk every night for months & still not have gone through everything. Plus they have an ever-changing guest 'menu', so it'd likely be a task you'd never complete. It is quite pricey, and the standard serving size is a schooner, so be aware that you may need deep pockets if you're in to make a night of it. But given the quality & the variety on offer, it's worth the price. This is a real gem of a bar in Leith & highly recommended if you're looking for beers you won't get elsewhere.

Visited here after being at The Campervan Brewery. What a lovely place! Very helpful, friendly & knowledgeable staff 👌 when it comes to discussing their very tasty brews 😋 also if u get hungry u can order a delicious pizza (or sides) via ur smart phone from the Pizza Geeks (probably one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a while & the pizza base was gorgeous! 😋) which arrived at our table in about 15/20mins. (They also do a pay it forward pizza on their app where u can support vulnerable people in the community 💞). Also met a lovely woman & her gorgeous Jack Russell dog Millie 😍 sweet. So all in all 10 out of 10. Thanks to all involved & keep up the great work! 😁

Great craft beers. I'm a huge fan of their tap room beer garden and tables out front. I wouldn't sit inside again, but happy to use their outdoor space! Just a bit too claustrophobic / dungeon for my personal liking..

Just walked past and entered on a whim. Looks much better on the inside. They have a good range of craft beer and cider both bottles and on tap. Not sure if it's just the scottish/edinburgh way but all the staff where very helpful and accommodating
