Great vegan food, drinks and atmosphere, can't wait to go back. Edit: Great to see the whole place is vegan now! Would definitely recommend visiting, even if you're not vegan it's all so good.

Good drinks selection and excellent vegan food.

For some reason the kitchen seems to close at different times every night depending on how they feel. If you try and order later in the evening there’s a decent chance you won’t be able too.

The meadows tap has just been taken over by the rabbit food team and they are lovely. We had some great food and friendly service in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We will be back.

A great pub with lots of students, outside of tourism. Everyone was very friendly and a great atmosphere. Really good food for a pub.

Cans of Overtone beer we bought were 3 months out of date. Most of the draft taps were off. The fridges were pretty bare. The food was amazing though

“Rabbit Food “ is pretty delicious I had my non vegan best friend with me and she said haggis was super tasty. “Rabbit Food” their staff (kitchen) is helpful and pleasant but Meadows Tap’s staff has attitude, we didnt order drinks as we didnt want to “bother” the chubby woman behind the bar. Im leaving 5 * for the Rabbit Food

I went yesterday for a quick meal with a couple of friends and my son. There was a private event starting in an hour but since we wanted just something quick, we decided to stay. First I asked for the changing room, as my son (who is on my arm when asked to staff, and visible quite big) needed a change. They said there is space near the window in the lady's toilets. I went there and it was basically just a windowsill, not at all meant to be used as changing room, as there were fake plants and other things on it. Aware of the time (we only had an hour to order an eat) I made it work. I then tried to order some plain fries, as I was on a diet for intolerance, at the moment, and they said that I could only have plain fries if I ordered a burger (even though fries don't come with burgers but you need to add them on and pay separately). I decided to order just a dessert for my son, using the qr code on the table, but it was very slow and again, mindful of the time, I went to the till to order there, explaining the issue, without receiving help, as the place was getting busy due to the private party, but she said she needed the ipad to take my order, and her colleague was using it,so it was best for me to keep trying on my phone. Eventually one of my fingers managed to place an order using her phone. They brought the dessert without any cutlery or napkins. Staff was quite impolite, not a smile, not williness in trying to make the customers experience pleasant. I definitely understand that it was a particularly situation due to the private event, but maybe next time it would make more sense to just close the pub to the public, if don't have the capacity to serve customers properly.

Went with my sister, had the deep fried mars bar! Oh my! Staff were helpful when I couldn't work out technology haha

This place is awesome with the best rabbit food around. A friend came with me and he didn’t even know it was “rabbit” food. It was sooo delicious.

I booked the table for a 2hr slot for myself and 3 others, and when we arrived we were told that we only had 1.5hrs because it was booked for a group later. The server told us it would be ok because they were their regulars and would understand, but instead they arrived and hovered over us complaining that it was their table, making us all feel incredibly uncomfortable. The food was good but despite this I will NEVER return, and would definitely NOT recommend!

We popped in for takeaway food. However, even though we were there briefly, the atmosphere felt cosy and friendly. The staff were helpful. The food was possibly the very best vegan pub-grub we've had. Big, substantial portions and packed with flavour. Wish this kind of place was more the norm on the high street. Thank you!

This pub is quite disappointing. We arrive and there were like 10 people in line to get a beer and just one bartender trying to serve everyone. Most of the beers were off, so you could only order Guinness and a cider, which is like nothing. It is a pub that I won’t return and I don’t recommend it.

Cool and Cozy bar. Very good lager beer. We also ate here at "Rabbit Food". All vegan menu! Decent and delicious burger, good fries. Fries would be better with a sauce. Mac and cheese was very delicious.

This was my first visit to this this place was amazing never been a fan of vegan food but decided to give it a go and it was amazing. Loved the retro vibe is this tap room as well. If i was gonna change anything I would love to see more craft beers on tap.

Finally visited tonight after drooling over Instagram pictures for months now! The food was exceptional - everything cooked perfectly, really fresh and delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more things from the menu.

So we specifically made a reservation ensuring our 2 year old daughter could attend but were told at the door that no one under the age of 18 could enter. We even called a week ago to ensure that she could enter and were told she could, but were “welcomed” by the most unfriendly hostess. Families beware!

We made a reservation specifically asking about bringing a toddler with us which they accepted, and every single server in the restaurant not only looked at us dirty and spoke to us rudely, but they all told us we had to leave quickly because of our child. We left because of these awful people do not even try to come here with a child

Hired the Meadows Tap for a retirement party with Rabbit Food doing the food. Food was amazing and scoffed by all our non vegan friends! Great atmosphere and music. Place is really cool and allowed everyone to mix and even have a dance. Would definitely book again. Very reasonable price for the whole venue that was refunded when the bar extended the minimum spend.

My first visit to a vegan food place. I was very impressed with my mac n cheese loaded fries and tasted my wife's "doner" burger. Couldn't tell any difference from non vegan equivalents. Service was friendly and efficient. Atmosphere was great , although Scotlands triumph over England at Murrayfield may have had something to do with it. Would definitely recommend to any non vegans wanting to try vegan

Cool low vibe place just off the Meadows. Lots of nice little retro stuff. Some of the best burgers and dirty fries in Edinburgh, and all vegan! The Doner Burger and Katsu Curry Fries are brilliant. Great selection of beers and cocktails.

The best vegan comfort food in Edinburgh and really good drinks. Nice atmosphere, I like that it’s quite dark and moody, very cozy place to sit with a friend and catch up. The staff was lovely as well.

We ordered some vegan food so cannot really comment on the service or atmosphere as it was takeaway but OH MY GOD that food was unreal… just outstanding and I can’t wait to try a burger (this time it was all about the dirty fries) 😏😂

A retro style pub with vegan fast food. Students Deals available. Not alliums free. Ordered via QR code on the table. We are tourists and our wifi connection happens to fail us that day, a lady staff is kind to help us order via their tablets. Katsu Burger comes with onion slices; a must try. Their signature mac & Cheese is awesome accompanied by alliums garnishings. Rich and creamy vanilla ice cream shake with almond milk / oat milk; not overly sweet. Fries too salty. They do have hot beverages but not in the Rabbit Food menu, it's under the pub menu. Google "Meadows Tap" to find the place. They have non alcoholic drinks too. Dips are chargeable. Retro style, clean and brightly lit washrooms.

Rabbit food is genuinely the worst place I’ve ever eaten… gave us the wrong food and refused to refund when they were in the wrong. They don’t know good customer service. Please don’t support this place, proper bad vibes 👎 I pray for the day they fail as a company because of the way they treat people. Plenty better places to eat in Edinburgh, if you’re thinking of going… DONT

The vegan junk food place to be. My friend and I both ordered a vegan Mac and cheese burger and one chips to share. We were stuffed! The chips were quite salty (which personally I like) and the burgers were spot-on (had onion rings, 'bacon', burger and of course macaroni cheese). It was a bit of a dark place so didn't lend itself well to photos but staff were super friendly, there were lots of board games available to play and we had a great time!

Food was delicious! Staff were lovely, only negative for myself was that it was a little dark in there (but that's a personal preference)

Good selection of ales and good relaxed atmosphere

The Meadows Tap is really a gem, mostly because they have Rabbit Food (vegan fast food) cooking for them! They have a student discount and promos on some drinks and they do seasonal specials (both drinks and food!). From burgers to loaded fries, from cocktails to a decent selection of beer on tap, The Meadows Tap is one of those low-key places that is for everyone.

Very much a retro style pub with a great atmosphere and PS1 consoles available to play. The food was excellent and as I carnivore I found the vegan food indistinguishable from their non-vegan equivalent. Good range of drinks and cocktails available at the bar.

Our group of 15 (all Vegan Runners) celebrated World Vegan Day eating Rabbit Food at the Meadows Tap. We had a brilliant night with good service and delicious food (AND complimentary donuts!) Highly recommend this place to anyone reading this. Thoroughly deserved 5 Stars from us 🙂👍💚

Literally best burger and fries I've ever had in my life.

Went here and went with the "Doner go breaking my heart" which was the perfect mix between the "doner meat" and burger patty. The fries here are the best I've ever had with decent sized portions which are sure to fill you up. The atmosphere is also really nice with the wall lined with PS1s and tv programmes like battle bots being shown. This place has all the vegan junk food and atmosphere you'll ever want! P.S. The t-shirts are really cool

Nice place, took a while to get a drink as it was heaving during the fringe and with people sitting at the bar, you had to squeeze to get to a place to order.

Absolutely awful. You cannot pay by cash because it is "too much work" aparantly. You can't order food at the bar (not that you would want any of the processed vegan garbage they are selling) but instead they rudely tell you to scan the QR code at your table. Both doors were open while I was there and I was literally shivering... I asked the staff if they were cold and they told me they were warm as they're always on their feet but they would happily swap positions with me??? All in all it was one of the most bizarre bar experiences I've ever had. Angry, lazy and self righteous bar staff that roll their eyes at customers who dare to ask a question. I'm genuinely serious when I say the 2 female bar staff I encountered had the worse customer service I have ever seen. Oh and it's insanely overpriced. £6.50 for a pint 👍 NEVER AGAIN. AVOID

Love this place. Food, service and atmosphere were all great. Definitely going back again. All it needs now is a place to lie down to sleep off the food coma.

This was one of my favorite places during my trip to Edinburgh. Kind, welcoming staff, great beer (and recommendations from the bartender), and AMAZING vegan food. A warm, welcoming, all around lovely spot.

I normally am not a fan of vegan food, but this was very delicious! Especially the macaroni. We came in with a huge group of people and the staff was very kind, and did their best to serve all of us.

Food here is amazing, chefs are cool guys. I know some people in big bookings were mad their food didn’t come “on time” but it’s a small kitchen and the chefs always do their best. 10/10 vegan junk food, obsessed with the mac and cheese fries. I come regularly and have a good feel for the place, cannot recommend enough

I want to select less than one star, but unfortunately google doesn’t allow this. The service was miserable even though we ordered beforehand. We had to wait 2.5 hours to get our food. When we got our food, we didn’t get everything we ordered and paid for. The chef said: “You’ve been drinking, I haven’t so I won’t take it of the bill.” Don’t go here, make them go bankrupt. One positive note: the bartender is a hero!

refused a refund/any form of compensation despite giving me the wrong food. unprofessional management, not getting in contact and being rude later on. food wasn’t even that good, especially considering the price. If you were considering going don’t!! Save your money and time - a way better alternative is paradise palms instead :)

Great wee pub with excellent vegan food and as a carnivore I never thought I would say that. My only complaint is they don't have a good bourbon selection but I am a fussy drinker so thats on me.

The pub and pints were great. Great atmosphere. Pub Quiz, board games, good music and friendly staff. Lovely place. Also the food... In a city with lots of good vegan food. It ended up being some of the very best I had (not only in Edinburgh, but ever). Got the food 3 times during my visit, and tried different things each time and was never disappointed. You owe it to yourself to check it out. Whether for take away or dining in for great atmosphere, and fantastic pints.

Belter of a munch! Got the Rabbit the Bruce burger for £14 and the Buffalo Chck'N dirty fries for £6 Pros: Awesome burger and incredible fries, absolutely amazing. Just good grub, even for non vegans. Cons: Menu is a bit limited and no hot dogs available. Price: As you'd expect for an upper price burger and dirty fries. Comments: Greater choice of menu would be good and also if customisation on order via the QR ordering is available. Return Visit: Definitely 👍

Nice atmosphere. (music some evenings if that's your thing) Fun retro decor. Student discounts available, and fair prices otherwise. They serve food although the kitchen was closed when we arrived (9 or 10ish). Good selection of beers, cider and spirits. And a small cocktail menu too. Seasonal I think.

Great place for food and drinks

Amazing vegan and gluten free food! The menu doesn’t state what’s gluten free but the chef was incredibly helpful talking us through our many multiple options. Would definitely recommend! The burger, loaded fries and milkshake were delicious

The food was SO good. The portion sizes were way bigger than I expected, and the chef was so cool -- he came out to ask us how the food was, and even handed out some rad stickers. The mac n cheese SLAPS!

Came in expecting the menu online but seems they are trialling a Mexican style menu. Not what we were after but really tasty and really enjoyed it! Recommended
