Oh wow how fantastic didn't have plans to eat anywhere gave this small but brilliant pub a go, and simply wow the food was outstanding and prices are very reasonable Def recommend a visit if ever in Edinburgh old town

We stumbled upon this place by accident when hiding from the rain. The people were really friendly to us and to our dog, the beer was nice, and the prices were very reasonable :)

Had the chance to see and hear Sean sing on Saturday, and what a magnificent night it was, he made the atmosphere better with every song and even made sure to include some of the staff and guests favourites! Drinks were reasonably priced and the staff were always there to take your order. Bit small place,but in my opinion it just makes it feel better.

Wandered into this bar while on holiday today. Ended up staying for 5 hours just chilling and chatting with regulars. Super cool pub and even cooler people.

Recently very disappointed with evening staff's aggressive attitude. Spoiled what was a favourite place. Ho Hum.

This place is a cute and quaint local bar! When I go in the evenings there only tend to be a few people so it is a good spot to wind down and relax. Drinks here are so much cheaper than anywhere else I have found in the city too.

Friendly and reasonably priced wee pub with 35ml measures for spirits. Populated by locals with a real atmosphere. Fantastic original artwork on the walls.

Your typical boozer, rucked up at 10am and two old mates having a whisky and a pint. £3.80 for a pint of Tennant in city centre is superb!

Another good traditional pub which is suffering because of Covid. Covid may in the end kill more businesses than people. Let's hope that it gets through the lockdown. I paid a visit today 17 March St Patrick's Day and the Cheltenham Festival was on TV . The customers are a friendly bunch mainly retired people, the prices are ridiculously low and the bar staff are very good. The local bookies are doing very well by the look of it with people popping in and out all the time. Unfortunately this pub has gone down in my estimation as it has become a day centre for the underclass.

Worst pub I have ever been to i my entire life. Horrible karaoke bar with talentless singers dominated the atmosphere. Sad looking waiters (-maybe due to the bad singers?) and poor atmosphere and standard in general. They did'nt take card, so we had to go find a cashpoint. The one star is given for the beer that was alright.

Old bar, been going for years. Always get a cheaper beer and a chat with the locals, that of course I am one of them. 😄

I was recently visiting friends in Edinburgh and ended up in this establishment. As I walked in the door with my friend the barman barked at me to wear a mask. I told him I had an exemption and made my way to the gents while my friend ordered. I was then confronted by the owner and the barman who barked the same order. When they aggressively demanded to see a certificate I explained i was out with friends and didn't have it. He then took his mask off and said I wasn't being served not realising he had already served my friend. I sat in the bar and drank my beer while my friend drank 2 both bein served by the same guy. Then the owner pipes up to my friend that he "should know better" all while taking his money. To summarise, if you want to drink stale watered down beer in the company of old urine stained men, then this is the place

Brilliant pub and brilliant staff

I would like to address the comments made by"Shark Head" about this small, friendly local. There are five hand sanitizer in the bar area and one in the ladies loo. Can't comment on the gents, but I assume there will be one in there. Obviously, this person would rather drink in large cheap pubs, like Weather spoons where there is no atmosphere.

Limited beer selection , and a nasty approach , they only accept cash at the same time happy to oblige punters to use a communal pen , no hand wash in sight (unlike other pubs ) and when I told them I could only pay with card they were abruptly rude . I suppose pubs like this are the ones we are suppose to feel sorry for and support as a pose to the big chains . But I'm not fooled I would never go here again since they don't value the safety of their customers happy to have you handle cash that's been god knows where in short all they care about is bagging your money . I'd favour Weatherspoons over this type of pub any day of the week from now on. Paying con-tactless should be encouraged and the norm given the current health climate . For any business that cares about supporting the NHS that is .

Me dieron pollo y champiñones y luego pollo estaba muy cuadrado de piezas de pollo procesados jellylike. El hongo era agradable pero, de nuevo, ¿cómo podría uno equivocar.Mi novio dijo, por £6. 50 / £7. 50 esperábamos mucho más. Se puso la pizza donner y debo decir que no me parece muy apetising.Tal vez cuando borrachos este es un lugar estupendo porque te menos cuidado sobre la calidad de la pizza, pero normalmente quizás no. Love the place. Trish is a treasure Courteney not so bad either. Staff are always welcoming. Need to give it a go either before your night on the town or on the way home from a long day at work.

Las pizzas son excelentes. Y si el propietario no feliz que hará que el otro no que he oído que si este chico sabe como happing lo suyo. Que sea como quieras que no es un problema. Mi familia he estado yendo allí durante al menos veinte años así que dice mucho y tiene que ser bueno. Buen chico amable. Puedes hacer un gran pedido y él aún puede hablar con tener una buena carcajada. Hemos sido a través de su menú varias veces y algunas de nuestras propias pizzas y no hemos tenido una mala. O nada de su menú. Las hamburguesas hacen un buen cambio y si te gusta el pan de ajo con queso hace un pequeño toque con la salsa hacer una agradable diffrence. Buena relación calidad-precio y nadie mejor en el área local para pizzas en mi opinión. Recomiendo que vayan probar deje que su paladar decida.
