Oct 2022 - OMG yes I highly recommend this eatery. I think I ate dinner here 4+ times out of the week. The employees were friendly and attentive. I tried different items off the menu, but I must admit I always went back to the pizza. That dough and the way they hand make it were stupendous. They also offer gluten-free penne and spaghetti. Great location and the prices were reasonable, hence the multiple trips there. Oh oh they make their own beer, I had multiple Hopo Lagers. I believe they have 4 that they craft. Great choice for lunch or dinner. You can join their rewards program too and receive discounts, just mention it to the servers and they will adjust the bill.

Unfortunately closed for renovations!

Booked this restaurant before a concert at Murrayfield. When we arrived 10 minutes before our booking the restaurant was 'closed for refurbishment'. This left us struggling to find somewhere to eat as everywhere else was booked up! Note - I booked this in May (surely the refurbishment was planned by then?) so would have appreciated a notification that they would be closed.

Great pizza dough, very friendly service, highly recommended.

Really friendly service. Pizza was brilliant, full of toppings. Good selection of beers and cocktails. Reasonably priced.

Found this place our first night in Edinburgh. We had pizzas, beer and burger. Everything was great and friendly service!

The online menu is very wrong. They have revised it and it’s basically a pizza place now. It was supposed to be vegetarian friendly but it’s not.

An all round great experience. Even although we had a voucher the portions were really good and very tasty food. The only negative is the tomato sauce on the pizza was rich but that's just a personal preference. Good atmosphere with good music. A nice night out.

Half filled drinks and condisending staff.

Pity the deer that died for that venison burger. Beef burger didn't seem to be any better. Seems to have lost a lot of character and quality since previous visits.

Its an ok place if you have a lot of money to spend on pub-grub. But £18 for a veggie burger is just extortionate.

I booked this restaurant for my parents after a previous visit which they absolutely loved. Sadly this experience wasn’t so great. The pizza was small and tasteless, certainly not worthy of £17. The service from the waiter Ross was poor. My dad shared this thoughts when asked how it was and mentioned he wouldn’t return as he was disappointed and the waiter said ‘he wasn’t fussed’ if he returned. A bit of respect for honest feedback doesn’t go a miss.

I have been here before and the pizza was excellent. I revisited and was so disappointed at the quality I received. There were no redeeming qualities - the dough was undercooked, the toppings were of a shop-bought standard, and the pizza was cold by the time it arrived at the table. It was by far the worst pizza I’ve had in a restaurant, and paid £16 for the pleasure. Having looked at the reviews on here it’s clear that the pizzas were far below what you’d expect from here - I also know this from my own experience.

Cool bar in the West End and perfect spot for a group or loner like myself. I was toying with one of the burgers but went for the Fish & Chips, which was phenomenal. Just what the doctor ordered and I left with a very full belly! Full marks 😋👍

Good drinks, good prices! Just not sure where the staff learned their hospitality skills as there was no accommodation for customers. Having worked in service myself before where we did everything possible to make the customers happy, producing returning customers, this felt the opposite. It was made to feel like the slightest request for change was a massive hassle!

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, really friendly efficient staff and lovely, tasty, filling, well presented foods! Will visit again!

My first night in Edinburgh since I was a kid. My partner and I happened on this lovely spot quite by accident and it completely made my night! Conor was great for a chat, Ross mixes a superb cocktail. Brooke was the star of the show. Even picked three beautiful crafts for my partner. Absolute five star service. We will be back!

Really nice restaurant with a wide variety of food- good pizzas, lots of great burgers and light bites, and great beers on tap. It’s a bit expensive but that’s Edinburgh for you!

We were looking forward to a good Neapolitan pizza because of the many reviews on Google. But the pizza was a very bad pizza that doesn't even come close to a ready-made pizza.

Was attending a conference at EICC. They managed to accommodate a party of 37 for food and drinks în the downstairs function room at 24 hours notice in December - everything went smoothly, not a single issue with food or drinks, even though a few extra people turned up at the last minute. Food was decent, they've a good selection of drinks, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and warm. Great job. I also had lunch once and dinner once during the week and again can't fault it.

It was honestly the worst food we had in Edinburgh. It is no longer a real pizzeria (the chef is no longer there)- the pizza we had was not great - the chicken wings were way too salty and the soup was not eatable. Shame because the place is great, mood is great and the waiters were all so nice.

Went in yesterday for an early dinner. Friendly helpful staff, lots of tables and food was good. Ordered Halloumi starter and Balmoral chicken (chicken stuffed with haggis, wrapped in bacon with a whisky and peppercorn gravy), and was more than happy with both. The chicken was fantastic. Good selection of drinks to go with the food, some nice local beers.

Very friendly service, but we waited almost 2 hours to eat. Granted we had a group of about 8, but our server was very scarce while we were there. Empty beer glasses that could've been filled and we probably wouldn't have noticed how long things took. When the food finally came, it was good pizza, but nothing outstanding. Its hard to find a place to serve this big of a group in Edinburgh, but unless you're dead set on pizza, this is a walk-by.

Best bar in Edinburgh in my view. Banging sound track, great beers and friendly and welcoming guys behind the bar. On Tuesday night so welcoming and inviting. My new local in Edinburgh.

In need of burgers and beers near haymarket and these guys sorted us out. Usual pub grub and pints vibe a stones throw from the station. Service and soundtrack were the main event. Try the froth and flame venison burger with a space cadet ipa, really good stuff! Will be back for sure

We made a quick visit to Froth and Flame for some food (we had booked earlier in the day) and were very happy with everything. They have a good choice of food for everyone, we had some small plates which were tasty and my daughter (age 9) confirmed the pizza was the best ever! Service was good too and was quick which is what we wanted / needed. Definitely worth a revisit when we have more time and not in such a tight schedule.

Went there tonight and was amazing! One of the bartenders was in training and made the BEST espresso martini I’ve ever had. Definitely coming back tomorrow!!

First night in Edinburgh and ate here. I had the chicken stuffed with Haggis and whiskey & peppercorn gravy was delicious! My husband loved his fish and chips. He also had a trio flight of beers which he enjoyed. Our Spanish waiter was so great and told us his favorite whiskey which was the first whiskey I ever liked! A great first night!

This used to be my favorite pizza restaurant in Edinburgh. The menu now, though it includes a make your own pizza, the options are limited. The rest of the menu is just pub food. Which we tried and was not particularly good. Such a shame. The service was also particularly slow.

Pizza was ace...Paolo and the pizziaolo chefs know their dough! I only gave a four for atmosphere as I was sitting by the entrance door. 🤪 I'm sorry for accidently burning the corner of the menu on the candle. My dog also enjoyed the little bit of pizza crust and he gave it a pawsome review.

A pizza restaurant that doesn't serve pizza. At least the staff looked embarrassed about it. Instead we got some low quality small plates that quite obviously arrived via a large van from the cheap wholesalers, the freezer and finally the deep fry. I can only assume its on its last legs and cant afford to fire up the pizza oven. Sad.

We had came here to try the great pizzas as they had been recommended to us, but they sadly aren't offering these anymore and hadn't updated the website before our visit. We both tried the burgers that are now being offered and they were mediocre which was disappointing. However, the cocktails were fantastic and we would go back for drinks but not food. Staff were lovely and the service was great.

2nd visit in the last couple of months. Both times we were the only people dining at lunch time. No atmosphere at all. We returned because they served good pizza and beer on visit 1 but unfortunately they changed their menu and had no pizza on visit 2. They had not updated their website menus to reflect this. Basically an 'Italian' restraunt with no pizza or pasta?!?!. Had a cheese burger that was not particularly good for the cost especially when it cost £2 for a piece of cheese on a normal burger.

We had phoned in and booked a table for 4 adults and 4 kids, when we got there we realized straight away there was something wrong with the heating system as the place was freezing. -2 °C and probably -2 inside as well. We got then told from the waitress that the boiler hadn't been working all day and when we asked why we didn't get tell on the phone she couldn't answer. Pizzas are nice but so overpriced! bad experience not going back!

Went on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm. Only one other table was occupied, but did get a couple more people in by the time we left. Used a voucher for starter & pizza. Good selection available, haggis bon bons delicious as was the crispy ravioli, a first for us. Pizzas were heavily based with tomato sauce in our opinion, and therefore toppings were sliding off, so cutlery was required. But still nice enough. £3.20 for a soda water and lime, but I suppose that's coz u in the west end of town.

Went in on Saturday lunchtime and it was surprisingly quiet which is why I've knocked a star off for the atmosphere although I will say the music playing was first class, really eclectic. Staff were friendly and checked on us often up to the point the mains were cleared and I had to ask to see the dessert menu. Knocked a star off on the service because they forgot to put in my dessert order so we paid the bill and moved on. Would recommend as it was good value for what we got. Menu is extensive and the cocktails were really good.

The dough was properly fired, the borders suitably fluffy and "bubbly", the cheese (we replaced the standard fiordilatte with a buffalo mozzarella for 3 pounds) was of good quality, and the San Marzano tomato sauce was sweet and of very good quality. Another pizza with a more elaborate and original topping was also good but a little too rich and greasy for us. Same slight feel of excess grease in the coating of the calamari, otherwise good. Great selection of draught beers and cocktails. At the moment, to launch their own beers, they let you try samples for free. The venue was quiet on a Monday night, made more radiant by a sweet, friendly and efficient young Spanish waiter. Prices are a little high, but justified by high level ingredients. The room is cleanly designed and extending down with quite a bit of space.

Visited on a Tuesday night , very quiet but that didn’t matter . Food was superb as always ( been before ) . Service excellent , always extremely nice here . Will be back . Thanks to the guys at Froth and Flame .

I've been there twice and I really enjoyed. Pizzas and cocktails are superb. Also they have a huge range of beers they brew. I'll repeat for sure.

I would 100% recommend Froth & Flame- their pizzas are just as good as ones I've eaten in Italy! The restaurant was lovely and the atmosphere was great. We only had a couple of nights in Edinburgh, and I'm so happy we found this place....

The food was delicious and the staff were fantastic and so friendly. The music that was playing was definitely to my taste. Will 100% be back.
