Razzo Pizza Napoletana in Edinburgh, City of

Firstly I suggest you ignore the poor review below by Bronxglenn below - it just doesn't ring true at all, certainly based on our experience. Secondly, I love the Neapolitan type of pizza, ie the soft doughy kind whereas my wife doesn't she prefers the crispy kind of pizza, the Roman style. Anyway I booked beforehand and the only spaces left were on the stools, seated at the window but that was OK. What impressed me was the menu actually had pizzas without cheese, as you'd find in Naples. My wife & I both had the Napoletana pizza and they were delicious. The espresso to finish off was a perfect espresso, with real crema. Service was friendly. Place was very busy, with deliveries being collected every few minutes. A perfect pizzeria.

Best pizza I've had since my last trip to Italy. In fact , this may have even been better. The only bad thing is that we were staying in Edinburgh but I love in England so I can't get a pizza here very often. I'll certainly be having another next time we're up there. Great service and excellent pizza.

Ordered pizza for delivery and it turned up swimming in water. Completely un-edible and disgusting. Wouldn’t recommend. Get better pizza in Aldi

Good dough (cause of the hand made) but lack of ingredients in the 🍕 and expensive for the quality 🙄.

Burrata e capocollo and caprese were nice.

The first time I came here the nduja pizza was lovely, however did not enjoy my second visit as the pizza I chose was not very nice and I felt like staff were talking about me as I was sat on my own which made me feel uncomfortable

We went to Razzo today for lunch as a family with our 2 teenage sons. We all loved the food, pizzas were just fantastic!! Freshly prepared and just so delicious. I felt like I was on my holidays sitting there, sun was shining down and it felt so authentic that I could imagine being in Italy in a cold day in Scotland. We had olives and a tomato and onion salad with our pizzas, they were so tasty with nice juicy tomatoes and a dressing. The drinks were great too, really enjoyed the different flavours of stuff available. Staff were helpful and lovely, it felt like a cool wee place that was welcoming. It was clean and organised. When I went down to the loo, it was spotless and tidy. We had a really nice trip and it was reasonable too - £60 for a delicious lunch with drinks for the 4 of us.

These people talk a great Pizza. In reality they are crap. If this shop was in Naples it wouldn’t last a week. They probably got kicked out of Naples. Big hygiene problem in the shop and with the staff. 2024 and bowfing BO??!! The smell is a knock out. Ultra cheap low quality ingredients. Dough that has not been prepared or rested properly. Generally bad attitude like they are doing you a favour. In reality it’s a disgrace. I sent off a complaint to the Department of Environmental Health. I hope they close this cess pit down. Sadly, in my case, Vesuvius has erupted.

Pretty decent. Authentic base. Variety of slightly different and interesting toppings. Lucky find off the high street. Probably a great local takeaway. Only 3 eat in tables.

Ordered 3 pizzas and two portions of arancini In total the group watched me eat 1.3 pizzas and 3 arancini Nom Nom Nom 😋

If I had one meal left on earth Razzo is where I'd go!

Takeaway. Made a double order in error. The restaurant assured me they would help to arrange a refund for the duplicate. They didn’t and they stopped replying to my emails. Really poor service. I had been a customer for three years and had recommended the place to other people. I haven’t ordered from them since this happened.

Absolutely blinding pizza from this little place! Wife had the Diavola (pepperoni pizza for you uncultured swine) and I had a DIY Marinara with olives chilli and sausage (damn you lactose intolerance!) A good pizza is tasty. A great pizza is so tasty even the crust tastes good without dipping sauce. Needless to say no dipping sauce necessary here. The restaurant is very small, only a handful of tables, but I'd highly recommend coming in over ordering takeaway so you can get your pizza fix as fresh from the oven as possible.

Best pizza in Edinburgh. Every time I eat a pizza from Razzo it feels like being back home. Ordered takeaway and delivery but I've never eaten in. The only problem is that the delivery is often not piping hot and for a pizza can be a problem.

Legit the best pizza place in town. I have been here many hundreds of times. The gym guy provides the best pizza and service. He even knows what video games I am playing when I call the store

Delivery wasn’t honoured. Unsure who it wasn’t fulfilled by restaurant or Uber eats. Unfortunately Razzo or Ubereats never apologised or offered to send new pizzas at any point. Poor overall from Razzo and Uber eats. Sadly wont be a returning customer

Small and intimate- booking ahead is essential if you want a table (but *not*ideal for groups of more than 4 people, as there are only a few tables). Not busy if you go early (like 17:30). There were things on the menu I've never seen before (outside of Italy anyway). I recommend the aubergine pizza. Several veggie options.

Ordered via Uber Eats, order accepted and "preparing". Only at the moment app showed "picking up order", did they suddenly decline our order. We waited half an hour for nothing and now other restaurants are closed. Shocking customer service, we did not expect this from Razzo, as they are usually great.

Lovely pizza! I walked 50min to get there and it was totally worth it! Would be nice if the atmosphere of had a more Italian vibe instead of a typical teakout shop. Would definitely recommend the aranccini balls 🤌 glad this place is not in my hometown cause I d be rolling to places.

Get yourself down to Razzo, and fast. It was absolutely brilliant. Excellent and friendly staff and a really buzzing atmosphere. It’s only small, I counted maybe 14 seats so might be best to pre-book which we did. As for the food! Wow! It was a true taste of Napoli. Excellent arancini and smoked cheese croquettes, perfectly cooked pizza. The rum baba was divine. Huge and great for sharing. Next time we are in town Razzo is top of the list. Loved it!

Lovely pizza Napoli style! Perfect dough and a variety of different pizzas with exciting quality toppings. Small shop but a kind of cozy atmosphere because of it, and the food comes fast and hot. Good service.

I really enjoyed my food here, got a pizza (can’t remember which one but pic attached) and a fried mozzarella sandwich. Now when I read ‘fried mozzarella sandwich’ on the menu I was genuinely intrigued, like what do you mean a fried mozzarella sandwich? I was half expecting something that resembled mozzarella sticks so you could imagine my amazement when it arrived and it was a fried mozzarella sandwich. I’m talking two slices of white bread, mozzarella in between and fried and a little pot of marinara on the side. I really hate to admit how much I enjoyed that but by the end I was finished man like that could’ve been a whole meal on it’s own. Pizza came, polished that off and it was banging, toppings were generous and the base had a nice colour too it with some of those leopard spots or whatever they’re called and a great texture (a little chewy just how I like it). Got a sparkling water too. I was tempted by dessert but by that point I was about to slip into a coma; not a food coma but a literal medical coma. I will be back again.

Everything is delicious. Pizza is the best in town. Starter are delicious but...there is a but....they don't sell Coca-Cola! They sell only unknown cola. It's a shame that the best drink for pizza is not sold here!!!! When you will start to have Coca-Cola I will raise my review to 5 stars

Great italian food accompanied by modern Italian music

One of the best pizza places in Edinburgh! They also have ichnusa beer which I haven't had since visiting Sardegna! Amazing!

Margherita in Naples is on my bucket list but maybe I won't have to go now! I still will but these guys have set the bar for my expectations. Thin as you like crust pizza cooked quickly in a hot oven where they don't overdo the toppings and the bread is still the hero of the dish. This, like most great food, is peasant fare, cooked fresh with love. The place is small - it does a roaring takeaway trade judging my the queues of delivery guys waiting to collect - and it's informal but you can still get anti pasti and dessert and decent wine by the glass. We two shared arancini with spinach, garlic and béchamel which was phenomenal and two pizzas, both really based on the Margherita, one with fresh buffalo mozzarella and one with nduja sausage spread on top. Very simple ingredients but beautifully executed. This may be the best pizza I have ever had anywhere. Very reasonably priced: each pizza is just over a tenner each. This is a destination dining place as much as any Michelin restaurant could be. Go.

the door was James open and the food cooled too quickly the plates qere not heated very busy with couriers for just eat etc this was not good for the atmosphere

Very bad service, especially the gym guy he very rude to everyone, i think he is the manager of the shop. Service is utter bad. Cold food. I heard he was quarreling with a delivery rider in very badly. It's so embarrassing. They don't know how behave to the people especially to the costumer, he treating everyone like a slave, so bad.

One of the best Italian pizzerias in Edinburgh (as confirmed by members of the Italian community) and the fact that they are always busy is a testament to it. It's recommended to book for dining in as there aren't many spaces but the atmosphere is lovely with Italian music always in the background. They propose genuine ingredients in their pizzas (nduja, friarielli, prosciutto di San Daniele, etc.) but also store niche Italian drinks (Birra Messina con il sale, MoleCola, etc.) that are not that easy to find abroad. I just moved to Leith recently but I'm definitely making it one of my local favourites!

I would recommend sitting in rather than pick up/delivery, it might be better. Ordered to pick up at a specific time and the pizza was fairly cold and soggy, not crisp at all. Had clearly been sitting in the box for some time. Tried to salvage it by putting it in the oven but it was no use. Place is always crawling with deliveroo guys so they clearly aren't making orders to the collection time and just firing them out. Dissapointed.

We had a nice lunch here, and everyone enjoyed it at the moment. Unfortunately, I ate a pizza with fresh buffalo Mozzarella and Mortadella.... and my stomach turned to feel really heavy 😞 probably it wasn't really fresh how should have been in first place.... My children been fine as they ate pizza with pepperoni and my husband veggie one.

Easily one of the best Neapolitan pizzas in the city - light and airy dough and a great tomato sauce.

Exceptionally good pizzas served by lovely staff in a tiny but charismatic eat-in area. The takeaway and delivery service is as busy as hell, so the word is clearly out there! Tried most of their pizzas over the past year or so and loved them all. Top tip, we always have ours with a couple of their unfiltered beers. Oh yes! Highly recommended.

The Speck pizza was interesting. Liked the honey on top, not so excited about the walnuts as I didn't feel that they 'added' to the flavour. Tried also, the Italian cola, which I found very appropriate for an Italian restaurant (most of them they just have San Pellegrino in their menu). Don't know if it was rush hour, but the interaction with the team was very limited. I was not asked if I liked my pizza or if I needed something else. Tbh, delivery drivers were queuing to pick up orders. Overall, it's a place that I would recommend for the variety of pizzas and antipasti. I will definitely go back and I will try more from the menu, because I found it very interesting.

Just back home from a very pleasant evening at Razzo Pizza. The choice of pizzas was excellent, the olives were exactly as olives should be. The white wine was crisp, and perfectly chilled. The service was attentive, but never obtrusive. This was my first visit, but it won't be my last.

Very rude waitress. When we sat at the table, we were told that all tables were reserved. After 5 minutes we were asked What we wanted because the waiting times for food were more than 1hr. This attitude was so unwelcoming. I felt I dont have a customer right to order food. Unproffesional service. This was by young waitress who looked not interested and lazy

One of the best pizzas for me. Super fluffy dough, very thin. High quality ingredients which are in harmony with each other. Prices are absolutely reasonable. Can only recommend!

Normally when I write a review it’s because I’ve had a great experience, but unfortunately this is not one of my normal reviews. The rice balls were still cold in the middle, not to mention not tasty. The pizza was served unsliced (maybe it’s their thing as they have a pizza cutter with the silver ware) and was only okay. We had a margherita pizza, so it’s hard to mess that up too bad. I will say the food came out fast but we were the only people in there. I don’t know how this is rated as highly as it is, it’s mediocre food at best.

I visited the pizzeria as many of my Italian friends are really keen on it. I was very pleasantly surprised. The pizzeria is small but very welcoming. Staff is kind and helpful and good at what they do. There is a great and tasty selection of pizzas and also a good selection of Arancini, my favourite way to eat rice. All ingredients are fresh and well balanced. I had a great meal and it was reasonably priced. I will definitely visit again.

Ordered online. It was very slow service. Instead of 20 mins it took 90. The food was cold. The mozzarella in the salad was terrible quality.

This cozy restaurant makes the best pizza I've ever tasted in the UK, and at amazing value. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is lovely with Italian music playing over the speakers, and the food is always made very quickly and to a high standard. Highly recommended.

The pizza was delicious and came out so fast! My husband and I each got our own pizzas which we thought was perhaps being wasteful and that we should have shared, but after a day of lots of walking and because the crust is so thin (or so I'm telling myself) we actually both finished our entire pizzas ourselves!

It was like being in Italy. Pizzas were perfect, my hubby is Italian, so he knows. We ordered Ortelana, smoked cheese was a flavoursome experience, and Tuna on the pizza my hubby ordered was not dry. Great place.

This is the best place for pizzas as far a I am concerned. They produce pizzas as good as any you will find in Italy. The staff are always very pleasant and professional.

Amazing pizza! I've been in many pizza restaurants and this one is the best! The restaurant is very small, so you wait or order for take away. Prices are good and the food is delicious. Service is very nice too, the guys and girl are kind!
