Traditional bar, without tourists. Fast and friendly service, very friendly. Vintage style furniture, very kitsch, and Elvis music to eat an excellent and large plate of fish & chips with a drink for 10 pounds.

The best traditional Fish and chip shop in Glasgow, The boss and his two partners have super warm character, fun to talk to, everything they served were delicious, inexpensive, I wonder how can they make profit if there aren’t tons regular diners, you can see many historic pictures of this shop on the wall, what a beautiful little shop for local folks or visitors to enjoy the food and relaxed atmosphere🥰👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️

A great traditional chippy, and just as ur heading home from a night or day in the city centre.

Good value for money fish and chips, I love the location, really gives of the local vibe of the city, the owner is very friendly, cared to share his story and sang along to songs on the radio, it really added to my trip to Glasgow, and I’m glad this was a part of it, If the owner is reading this review, the postcard is on the way!

Absolutely rotten the man who's the head chef had black fingernails the place was dirty like it had never been cleaned and the staff are rude the food was vile no fritters and the chips were like cardboard and that gravey was like lumpy paste avoid avoid avoid

As an Aussie walking through Glasgow City on a Scottish summer day found Vald'oro and the biggest soft serve vanilla ice creams filled to the very bottom of the cone. Cold sweet and creamy, and only £2.50 each with a flake.... A family business, many years of fine customer service is highly recommended for great fish and chips as well...

Stumbled across this place a couple of months ago. Had a sit in and it was fantastic. Really great friendly service, brilliant fresh food. The photos on the wall really show the heritage of this restaurant. Loved it.

Been going here since I was 3 , and I turned 56 on 1st of August and went in for a memory lane walk . Still the best chips and staff are amazing , I on request was sang happy birthday in true Italian tennor style . I love the atmospheric oldie worldly decor , honest if you've never been I highly recommend you try it . Fabulous guys just Fabulous 👌

The best fish and chips I've had in the UK are here. Portions are quite generous. The price is just as affordable. The traditional structure is intact. It's a shabby environment. However, if your priority is food, this is not a problem. The employees are friendly and polite. Note: Don't forget to add some vinegar and salt to your fish. Those who come from Turkey and try it for the first time may have a short hesitation about vinegar. However, vinegar is not as aromatic as ours. Therefore, the vinegar taste does not overpower the fish taste. On the contrary, it alleviates the oily taste of the fish.

Popped in close to closing time, but cooking me a fresh haggis supper to takeaway was no problem. Great original decor, friendly service. I chose this place after reading about the history: Originally opened in 1875, it's been in the same family since 1938. Oldest chippy in town and worth a visit just to soak up the old school atmosphere and check out the pictures on the wall. But I highly recommend eating there too! I'll be back soon.

What can I say, the guy behind the counter was amazing. Friendly, chatty and lots of fun. The service and the food were top notch. Only thing that lost a star is that the place could be done up a bit but honestly do not let that put you off trying this place out.

What a welcome ! Awesome ! We arrived at this restaurant at 11am. We were hungry because it was our arrival day in Glasgow and we had been awake since 2am for the trip. We ordered fish and chips. The nice man at the restaurant told us that before noon he normally only served breakfast. But he told us: if you want fish and chips, no problem, I'll make that for you! And he cooked us delicious fish and chips! The fries are very good with a good potato taste. The fish and chips with tea was great. The place is original with vintage decoration. We really loved it! I really recommend this place, plus the prices are very affordable.

Very original and a great value for that small money. The Owner is a bubbly, friendly fella and very engaged with his customers and the food he prepares. We had the typical english/ scottish breakfast and it was as greasy as it was great. (Kinda what you expect of it if you're going for "Local food") The Place has grown a bit long in the tooth and yes the table- bench combinations a very uncomfortable to eat but one could say that gives it its charm. In the late morning of a very stormy and cold day in february, this Place was a lifesaver. definetly recomend it! (2 adults, 25-29y., breakfast, roadtrip +hiking, february 2020,)

Vinegar all over the meal despite not asking for it. Most times all is good but it's a second time this happens.

Always love stopping by for a quick bite before work. Lads in the shop are friendly and quick. And on busy days they're still efficient. Recommend stepping in when you want a quick bite to eat.

The first chippy we visited ever, and we're so happy we chose this place! Other reviews mention it's the best chippy in Scotland and I'd say they are right. Very friendly people, welcomed us with a smile and served us fantastic dishes. The deep fried Mars bar was divine. Will be recommending this place to everyone I know if they ever visit Glasgow.

Great chips fast friendly service lots to look at in this wee cafe that has been a fixture here for a very long time. Lots of pictures and posters on the wall showing the history of the place. If you are looking for good food at a good price and want to see a piece of real Glasgow history then this is the place to go.

Owner: You’re heading to the march - you’ll need filled up… take a seat! Two square sausage rolls, COMPLIMENTARY drink top-ups, plus an extra bacon roll FREE (just in case) and FREE chips later… We nearly didn’t make it, folks. What a totally brilliant man! 💕

Vald'oro may look like your run of the mill chippy but it is drenched in history and culture! The owners are fantastic, and will chat away to you for hours. They live up to the "Italian- Scottish Chippy" heritage and quite often have Italian Opera on the TV's while you order. The food is outstanding and you will not be disappointed

Was in on Saturday for dinner around 5 with my mum and my 2 daughters. I would like to say this is the best place I have ever been for a fish and chips. The service was amazing and friendly staff it was quite maybe because of the football was earlier. But out of this world will definitely be back in the future.

Fab place ..adds colour to your day...not like other bland coffee shops!

Owner took a phone call and started saying delivery drivers got lost because they were all refugees, saying how do you check if they've washed their hands, "you should see the demographics who come in here" and you could "wipe the floor with sl*nty-eyed people". Incredibly racist. Also the pizza crunch had fish in it. Avoid.
