Best donner kebab ever had, pizzas are outstanding patter, staff good guys

Terrible experience. I'm never going back. Ordered at 6.30. Took them 90mins to have my order ready, after being told only 15mins. And when I got home my order was totally wrong. Completely ruined my dinner. I ordered 2 lamb burger n chips, plus 1 large chicken kebab n chips. I got 2 lamb burgers plus a donner kebab.

Owner is delightful and the charcoal grill beats any electric or gas method.

I’ve ate at literally 100’s of different places in Scotland all my life as I was born and raised in Scotland, and I can say that Istanbul on Paisley road west blew me AWAY with their portion size for the very very reasonable price they offer. The lamb doner wrap shocked me when I took it out the bag and saw the shear size of it, it was enough to feed 3-4 people, and just £7! Totally amazed, 10/10, the lamb doner was not the best quality, but for the price and amount of food you get, it’s worth it. Truly absolutely massive

I travel a lot and cannot think of where i had a better chicken kebab. Flavourful quality chicken and subtle salsa based chilli sauce. Top notch.

This no frills takeaway is just a delight. Their signature dish, the lahmacun, is my favourite take away treat. Framed as a 'Turkish Pizza', it's a large flat base of delicious flat bread, with spicy minbed lamb spread across, with some sauce and seasoning. This is then rolled up and the final product is more like a large wrap - and the best one you'll ever taste. The atmosphere is that of a takeaway - waiting a short time for food, and I wouldn't expect more. That short time though is full of the rich smells of the fire oven and barbecue of cooking kebabs - it's a bit of a sensation in it's own right. Staff are always welcoming and helpful - I knocked one point off 'Service' purely because they don't take card payments.

This place is amazing it don’t look much from the outside but you walk in the staff are lovely. They want to help you and they will cook you the best food how you want it. Don’t forget the wicked pub next door that you can wait in while your food is being cooked.

How the mighty have fallen. For what was once arguably the best kebab in Glasgow, it's now slow service, ridiculous prices and not great quality food. Such a shame, it was a real gem

I found this place by chance whilst looking for a something a bit different from somewhere a bit different. The food is delicious 8/10. I have been coming to this place for over a year. After last night 30/12/23 I won't be returning. My partner and I driver 13 miles specifically to buy food from kebab house. We looked on the menu as normal and chose what we would normally chose ( 2x Large mixed kebabs ). The price on the online menu + physical menu that I got the previous time I was there. I ordered the food to collect and handed the man £26 as the mixed kebabs have always been £13 each but worth it. The man then tells me that the price is £28.50 so I go to the car to grab some more change. When I go back to the counter. I was then given a price £31.50 for ( 2 mixed grills with chips). I declined to pay and cancelled the order. The menu online should be up-to-date with the shop menu. Kebab house has now lost 2 good customers as they have priced themselves out of the market. I wouldn't pay an extra £5.50. £5.50 is a big Juno in price for a food item and should be updated online a.s.a.p to prevent other customers cancelling orders at the last minute which I imagine will cost kebab house money in the long run.

It’s been said before but needs reiterating: Hidden gem. Tasty, fresh ingredients. You can see for yourself everything is cooked fresh (well worth the wait). I’m going to say since it’s fresh salad, grilled fresh chicken and home made bread it MUST be fairly healthy compared to anywhere else. Perfect end to a session next door at the Old Toll Bar.

Istanbul comes with a hefty reputation as a legendary kebab provider but sadly I wasn’t blown away on this occasion. The meat was freshly cooked on the grill but lacked any real succulence or depth of flavour from the coals. The bread was fresh, light and well seasoned. The chips bang average. A bit of a mixed bag. Portion was generous and pricing very fair but I wouldn’t say it was any better or worse than my local. A change of dish might bring a change in fortune so I’ll be back but also hoping for more.

I ordered the large mixed kebab and the lahmacun. Both were very good. The mixed kebab was chicken breast, lamb cubes, lamb kebab, and their home made donner meat which is incredible and tastes nothing like your standard takeaway kebab meat. All of the meats were cooked beautifully you could really taste the smokey open grill BBQ flavour. The kebab comes with their home made bread which is so soft and not doughy it's really fresh. The chilli sauce is not like any I have tried before it's not too sweet like most chilli sauce is nowadays, it's got a nice kick. Salad all fresh. The lahmacun was very fresh and the lamb mince inside was full of flavour. £17 for large mixed kebab and the lahmacun which I thought was good value enough food for 2 people. Had to wait 15 mins but didn't mind as looks like it's all cooked to order on the charcoal grill. 10/10.

Small shop in glasgows prw however their kebabs are absolutely out of this world- especially the adana and the kofta kebab the best in Glasgow in my opinion! Comes with fresh baked nan and salad prices are reaonable too! Will definitely be back!

By far the best Kebab shop in whole of Glasgow and surroundings. Edit. The last 2 visits were downhill. Apparently, business is under new management, hence the lack of quality and service.

Love this place, pre order if you want a BBQ kebab. All food is amazing, highly recommend this place as the best kebab in the south side.

I ordered a doner wrap last night. The bread for the wrap was cooked fresh and the wrap was delicious. It was also a very big portion! There was easily enough for two or even three people to share, and it still tasted fantastic the next morning too. Highly recommend!

Never open on time staff sitting outside in a car talking to each other since 11.45 and I am still waiting for them to open the shop in my car. Have seen 4 customers come since 12.00 and walked away after standing for a few minutes. Change your opening times online I just wasted my whole lunch hour waiting. Left at 12.25 still not open staff still in corsa talking to each other

The mixed keeebabs are tremendously good. Fresh home made pitta breads. What's not to like about it. Seriously advice anyone on the hunt for a cheeky Turkish delicious. Head over to this spot it's a winner

Food is a very good for the price, service friendly not very much approach so if you are in a hurry then do make notice.

Absolutely banging 👌 10/10 for me. Meat, sauce, bread are all delicious and unlike anything you get from most kebab shops. I'm extremely fussy and only use this kebab shop, drive there most weekends. Very reasonably priced would go as far to say it's cheap. Highly recommend.

I think this place is definitely worth a try, I bought 5 medium kebabs for the family and the wife and 2 of the kids didn’t like it to the point they ate very little, me and one of my sons will definitely be back, it’s proper lamb kababs Jesus, lamb is fatty. Definitely different from any other kabab shop in Glasgow.

Say no more - this IS the place. I’ve lived in Glasgow most of my life but been overseas for a few years and this was my first stop when Glasgow. Shish kebabs are amazing plus they make their own bread. ❤️❤️❤️

Heard a lot about this place and it didn’t disappoint , the donner meat was probably the best I have had in the Uk , lovely meat , fresh and you can tell it was authentic. Served with lovely fresh bread and salad . Will try their pizzas next time . Highly recommended

Good food, worst customer service. Took us 30 min from walking in to leaving, despite place being empty and 4 people working behind the counter. By the time we got all food some was cold, people touched food and money with the same gloves, among other things... Unlikely will order again from there, will definitely not visit the place in person.

I travel around 20 miles to this place it’s that good. The Lamachun is immense.

Got a doner kebab and decided to eat it later, so I put it in the fridge,a couple of hours later I went to reheat it, the meat had solidified with the grease , anyway I put the "meat" in the microwave for 90 seconds and the grease on the plate was UNBELIEVABLE!! I couldn't put that into my body..it went in the bin.Sorry,Not for me.

Extremely disappointed. Today we have tried it after seeing the good ratings but the food quality was awful even it was not worth a try. Also its quite expensive in terms of its food quality and serving. I would not recommend this place.

A fan of Eastern food, but they don’t do the kebab justice, after seeing many good reviews I decided to travel here to try it. It doesn’t look much from outside but sometimes it’s best not to judge a book by it’s cover, especially when it comes to catering. The Fresh bread was a bonus but the meat was tough & not nice textured at all, it was literally dripping in yellow grease & the salad was soggy as if it’s been left out for a while or in an open bowl. Service - well the girl looked as if she didn’t want to be there that was serving me. Dumped the bag up on the counter didn’t say anything when there was another 3 people in the shop. Was hypnotically supposed to know this was my order? Wouldn’t recommend or go back.

Ordered expensive lamb shish, took it home to find the lamb stiff cold, and the salad warm! They placed my hot lamb pieces on cold soaking wet salad, and served the bread & chips separately. Straight in to the trash it went and a waste of money. Chips were dark brown and soggy too. Wont be returning.

The food here is amazing! I got the pepperoni pizza and garlic cheese bread both made to perfection. Real pepperoni, not the processed stuff!! Highly recommend getting takeout from here

Huuuuuge portions! I ordered durum doner and it was almost a meter long 😅 plus tons of meat in it. I could only eat the half of it and the pictures show only half of durum doner. So 1 is enough for 2 people. We are also Turkish and it was definitely the original taste. Though the staff told us that they are not Turkish. There’s no dine-in , only to go. But that’s okay as well. Highly recommended! So highly recommended.

From being a top notch takeaway it has massively dived. I purchased a mix kebab n fries. Bread was terrible meat was poor kebab meat was a bit better not much though. I won't be back sry. No photos as I had put it in bin before getting notification sry

Been going here for nearly 15 years. Unfortunately tonight has put me off. Real shame. 45 minutes for a mixed kebab and a chicken kebab, 2 rice and 4 breads. The meat sat on the oven ready for half an hour. 30 minutes for bread and rice. Then forgot and gave bread away so had to wait longer. Normally wouldn’t be bothered but when it’s cost just shy of 25 pound to watch 7 other orders get done while you get forgotten about and it’s now cold. And the breads burnt coz it was done in a rush. Won’t be back. Real shame. No longer worth the wait. Real real shame.

Poor quality and portion sizes the Turkish nan is more of a small pitta cardboard, you are mostly paying for the cabbage salad than anything else

Great food at great value. I just wish they have a seating area because I love their food! Update: my family and I are regular customers here and spend over 30 pounds all the time. This time food was a disappointment. Half of the order was wrong. Bread isn't toasted properly. Pizza had nearly raw onions. New staff are super super slow. I hope they consider bringing old staff back because the food quality isn't the same.

Visited Tuesday this week placed my order sat in the car for 15 mins went back in order not even being prepared back to the car another 20mins back into the shop promised just a few more minutes back in again and it was just about ready if they can't get it right on a Tuesday what's the point in visiting at the weekend Now let's get to the food mixed kebab nothing special would have expected onions and peppers on the skewer as it was cooked none to be seen also got a small chicken kebab very basic no care or effort made 4 bits of chicken on a bed of cabbage and that was that I really don't think they know what there doing looks like organised chaos when u stand observe SORRY ISTANBUL YOUR NOT FOR ME

Ordered LAHMAJUN, a large turkish pizza-like with meat on top. They wrap it like a kebap and add salads. The flavours were amazing and rich, very flavoursome and worth going. The owner is also friendly and you can see he cares about his shop. Recommend.
