We can in different hours of the day, for coffee and a light bite to eat during morning time, it was ok but not impressed. Then we came back another day for drinks and pizza, the pizza was awesome, especially the cheese! Then we came to a dinner hosted at The Dormy, the dinner was Indian food (curry, etc) and it was great quality and tasted great! The staff is the best part at The Dormy, especially Roxy, she is the best!!!

Terrible coffee, staff knowledge of what they are selling was incredibly poor. They advertise “Cafetière Coffee, Gleneagles Blend”, which after debating with two staff, one manager and their barista, I can confirm is just filter coffee made in the back and put into a lovely cafetière pot 🤦🏼♂️. When I tried explain that the coffee grinds should be in my pot so it can be brewed, I was told that I must be “looking for a French press”, eh yes, french press & cafetière are the same thing 🤦🏼♂️. FYI - also love a filter coffee but the reason for questioning what I had been served was that their filter was very poor, weak and stewed. Must do better.

We had a great light lunch here after our round at the Queens. The team were great and let me have a taster of the beer before I ordered the full pint (good decision as peach Melba is not for me!) When we arrived the lady at the front said she was relieved that we had a booking. I’m not sure why as there were only a few tables of people inside….but this is how all the reservations for dinner seem to work at Gleneagles, on a fear principle. I’m not sure why, maybe to drive demand by making you think you are really lucky to be there. I’d recommend it for a quick lunch after golf. But I definitely don’t recommend staying at Gleneagles the hotel. It’s overpriced, stuffy, and the worst beds I have ever seen.

I could not recommend the Dormy restaurant. The food is well below the standard one would expect from one of the dining options in Gleneagles service was pleasant but very slow with food being served at the table at intervals to our table . The menu should be overhauled and a new chef appointed

We had a lovely lunch for a special birthday. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. My father is in a wheelchair and all the staff in the clubhouse were accommodating and helpful. The food was delicious, considering the setting and the huge portion sizes, we found it very good value for money. A huge menu selection made it difficult to choose but we had the haggis and the mussels, which were lovely. We treated ourselves to desserts, which were gorgeous. Thank you to everyone at the Dormy, we will hopefully get the chance to return again.

I was served English breakfast tea bag for tea when I ordered Earl Grey leaf tea. On my 4th or 5th visit for tea with friends, I was provided the same info : gluten free scones are finished. It's surely not rocket science to bake more if they are so in demand and finish each day ! Also no smile on the faces of majority of the staff. I am so disappointed because if this is Scotland's best property - then what is what's not the best

No gluten free scones or muffins for celiacs. Quite insensitive. Staff too busy to lend an ear to a guest. Not the standards of service or food options expected from a star category hotel. Visited on 28th June, if management wishes to confirm and investigate. May 20, 2024. Had to take friends for tea. We were three. I asked for Earl Grey tea and was served English breakfast. My two friends's hot coffee was served cold. Same reply as ever : we have run out of gf scones. If that is true, then for years now - no one has thought of baking some more if they run out of them !? Not one smile on any face of the staff. Do they get any training at all, one wonders.

A bit disappointed with this to be honest. In fairness it was very busy but I watched my house tandoori sit under a heat lamp for about 8 minutes before my wife's meal was ready. As a result the chicken was quite dry and with no curry sauce I struggled to eat it. 4 pieces of pakora at about £3.75 each and not served with a salad is a bit much but that's Gleneagles prices for you. Fantastic setting and my wife's burger was excellent.

Dining at the Dormy continues to be an enjoyable experience. Always plenty of staff to attend to your table and service is very good given that the place is usually busy. We’ve been to the Dormy twice now and both visits have been above average (compared to similar establishments). Food there is well executed and tasty with plenty of options for all foodies. At the forefront of their menu is the Indian Tandoor and other Indian dishes. The Indian menu is excellent, maybe not so much the vegetable pakoras we had on our last visit (it was a tad burnt) – but the dal makhani is superb – as were the papadams (nice, light, and not greasy), fish curry, and chicken tandoor. Perhaps the kitchen can up their game in the chutney department! The place, however, can get momentarily smoky at times, especially when their tandoor oven is working extra hard, and the aromas from the open kitchen wafts through the restaurant. Overall, the Dormy is a lovely place to dine and enjoy a few drinks. The name ‘Gleneagles’ is not associated with the word ‘cheap,’ and the location and its championship golf courses should clue anyone in on the price range of their menus.

Over rated, over priced and underwhelming dining experience. Seated next to the cooking area overbearing cooking smells. Shared Indian platter as a starter was deep fried, greasy and tasted like it had come from the freezer. Nan bread and rice were nice. Chicken Makhani tasted like Heinz tomato soup and lacked spice. Not cheap at £24 per serving.

Great bit of meat (500g ribeye) but could have been cooked better imo came rare and don't think it was cooked low and slow as it wasn't as rendered as would expect. Char flavour was great but it was under seasoned imo also very expensive (75£ for steak and no sides). My partner had the chicken which wasn't grilled as far as I could tell and it was serviceable. Room was stunning and service was good but not the standard we received from other venues in Gleneagles.

The venue is lovely. This is the clubhouse for the 5 star Gleneagles hotel. It's historically expensive. You can 100% get better food and service at several of the local Auchterarder restaurants but they don't include the view. Our meal was served in 2 parts: kids first, then adults. We weren't asked about this and would have preferred to dine as a family. We asked to be moved in an empty restaurant, they had to think about this. It should have been an instant 'no problem'. We asked for a straw for a drink - twice. My 11yr old was served off the kids menu on a plate for a 2 yr old. Had to ask for a proper plate. My son's minute steak was luke warm at best. Finally they had charged for a more expensive wine. I'd add that the kids meals seem to have made a remarkable (but not stellar) improvement having resembled microwave meals in the past. Gleneagles should be about fine tuning that 1% with 99% perfection but as per every other time, they dine off their name and location, not by being the best (something they charge for yet seldom follow through on). There also seems to be huge inconsistency in the application of their distasteful 'discretionary' 12% service charge. Make sure you have this removed for all of the above reasons.

Made a special autumn trip to Cafe Kisa for coffee and cake. It’s been a while and the old Cafe Kisa we once knew is now a fabulous new Cafe Kisa restaurant and coffee venue, same street, just across the road. Beautiful venue, excellent staff, warming tasty coffee, yummiest scones ever. Wish we were staying for lunch, though it is always best to book. Having mobility issues I always dread, often fear, having to visit the special access facilities. Hallelujah, stunning, great care and consideration has been given to visitors to this facility, thank you. My husband managed to climb the stairs to the toilets and his comment was - amazing. Worth the climb. Cafe Kisa is such a great asset to this lovely village, lucky locals. We hope to visit again soon as the food we saw being served was truly mouthwatering.

Such a memorable, lovely experience staying at Saorsa 1875. Highly, highly recommend. Other accommodation around and about the Highlands could learn a lot from this place. Finding your USP and totally owning it. So refreshing from the usual b&b / hotel in these parts. It’s a beautiful place from the hotel itself to the staff to the food. You also don’t have to be vegan to enjoy the wonderful food and drink (I’m not!). Would defo return. Thank you.
