After reading some reviews about this place me and my friend decided to go and see for ourselves if the place met the expectations, and WOW! This is the best Indian place I have been at in Glasgow, the service was brilliant, we ended up talking to the owner for 30 minutes and he was such a humble and down-to-earth guys. The food as excellent, with authentic indian spices making it really stand out! I highly recommend this place for everyone!
We visited this restaurant for lunch today and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience — one of the worst in terms of service I've ever encountered.
We had booked a table and arrived 30 minutes early due to the rain. The staff kindly let us in, which we appreciated, but the table provided was far too small for two adults with a baby and a buggy. Still, we tried to make it work.
As soon as we opened the menu, a waiter came over within two minutes to take our drink order. We hadn’t even had a chance to look at the options, so I asked for a bit more time. Despite this, she returned just two minutes later — even as I was in the middle of settling my baby. Feeling rushed, I placed an order in a hurry without having time to think properly.
No sooner had I started looking through the menu again than she came over once more, asking for our food order. I politely asked for more time, but she returned again just minutes later. It felt like we were being pressured to order quickly and move on, which made the whole experience very stressful.
To be fair, the food arrived quickly and was delicious — that’s the only redeeming part of our visit.
However, as soon as we finished our meals and drinks, the server repeatedly asked if we wanted anything else. We really just wanted some peace and quiet. After being asked for the third time, we gave up and asked for the bill. At this point, my baby had just started eating, and my husband hadn’t even finished his drink. Still, the staff told us we had to leave in 5 minutes as the table was booked again — even though we had booked our spot and paid nearly £70 for lunch.
It felt rushed, impersonal, and inconsiderate — especially for a family with a baby. We left feeling unwelcome and unsatisfied despite the good food.
We won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxed and family-friendly dining experience. The quality of the food was completely overshadowed by the poor service.
Busy, popular place. Can see why. Had a selection of small plates for 3 of us, wine went down well and staff were really friendly and efficient in spite of being run off their feet. Great night, thanks.

This Victorian gem’s circular bar measures exactly 100 feet around – perfect for pub crawls. The mirrored ceiling makes crowds look twice as big. Their “wee heavy” beer comes in proper dimpled glasses that weight your hand just right. Totally worth a visit.
I highly recommend it!! Greek in Scotland!! Everything is wonderful!! Quantities and quality to the highest degree!! Bravo to the owner!! Elizabeth is wonderful, our waitress!!
Very overpriced tiny meal of "torched mackerel" which was literally a strip about an inch wide and 4 inches long along with 2 langoustines for 33 Euro. We had to stop on the way back to the hotel to eat as the portions at this restaurant were so tiny. The service was non-existent. We had to go find the server every time we needed a refill on water or to get the check. Would not return.
Quite disappointed with portion sizes, given how much I had paid. Bar staff also not very friendly, served two people ahead of me then became very sulky when I asked for the ice to be removed from my drink -- despite the fact I had asked for no ice when I ordered.
On a side note, I find it bizarre this place advertises itself as being known for cask ale; despite the fact there is only one pump -- and it hasn't been on in most of the times I've came here. Plus anytime it has been on, it's almost always an IPA - which caters to a very specific clientele. Not very impressive.
Shame to see what was once a nice bar having gone down this route.
Went in for pre-drinks before a Christmas party night elsewhere & was very pleasantly surprised.
The bar has a lovely feel, it was quiet where you could talk & a pianist playing music in the background to break any silences.
Drinks aren't the cheapest but considering its location, I wasn't sure what to expect but I would certainly have no hesitation in going back.
