Bought a Wowcher for 2 courses and wine. Had a lovely meal here on a Saturday lunchtime. The veg risotto was delicious, I'll be back just for that! My husband had the penne arrabbiata and really enjoyed that too. Service was great. My daughter has spag bol and ice cream again loved it

It's been a while since we've been here but the atmosphere, food, and service were really good! Hopefully, they continue to impress patrons of the establishment.

Im afraid to say the food was not great. My main meal, a chicken dish with penne pasta was terrible. It looked as if I had half a pack of pasta dumped on the plate and the chicken was dry and inedible. My husbands meal wasnt much better. The rice wasnt that hot and it was stodgy, the chicken was warm with parma ham dumped on top. The waiter was more interested in popping out for a ciggie and on his phone.

GO YOUR WAY!!! We went to eat at this Italian restaurant last night and we were very disappointed with the service and the cuisine: First, we ordered drinks and pizzas, we waited 10 minutes and the waiter came back to tell us that there were no more pizzas… We therefore understood that the cook did not want to turn on his oven for 2 pizzas. You might as well tell us directly. Anyway, we ordered pasta and a chicken burger! And be careful, 20 minutes later, the waiter brought us a beef burger as well as pasta with 4 poor meatballs in it! Not wanting to wait another 15 minutes to get the chicken burger, we said nothing. To conclude, we waited a long time, the dishes were not good and the ingredients were of poor quality (worst burger of my life). Go on your way. CIAO 👋🏽

I ordered Insalata Caprino ie. "Crostino with goat cheese resting on mixed leaves a warm vegetable salad". Paid 12.95£ for this plate. Just one sort of green leaves and no warm vegetable salad. Bread was good, but I really wanted those vegetables too. That left me feeling really ripped off. The restaurant is really gorgeous and has great atmosphere, but there was a painfully noisy group at the same time

The beer wasn't fully poured, the pizza was crispy and the pasta was watery. Too bad. Certainly not a recommendation.

Best restaurant in Glasgow hands down! The welcome received from the Italian staff was homely, professional and with a humorous tone typical of our culture. The exceptional food, taking into account that in Glasgow there are many places that take the name of the restaurant and typical Italian dishes because we have a high level in the culinary field and this attracts tourists, but then the quality of the food immediately turns people's noses up. Here, however, the quality/price is perfectly balanced for the manufacturing of the dishes, quantity and taste. The staff is, in addition to the things previously said, very helpful. Keep it up guys 🫡

The food was pretty good and service was prompt and polite. The vibe was Italian for sure. The atmosphere was very nice and the place is well decorated but not presumptuous. The staff were attentive and very helpful. They would have got a 5 star but except the food is a solid 4, they would need to enhance the flavours and potentially go deeper into the Italian heritage, this is more a family restaurant than fine Italian dining experience. Enjoyable none the less and do not let that detract from your desire to try this place out.

How about this for an experience? You book a table on the website for 8:30, and get there on time, only to be abruptly told the kitchen has closed. Unprofessional….just as well Glasgow isn’t short of good Italian restaurants who know how the internet works.

Great service and food tasted as anything you would have in Italy.

I had lunch here today with a friend. This was our first visit to Osteria and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back and I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant, you won't be disappointed 😋

Had lunch here today, minestrone soup was bland, no taste had to ask for salt. Had chicken Milanese, I told the waiter it was a very small piece of chicken , it looked like a frozen piece of breaded chicken . He said they gave me more pasta! There was very little pasta. £18 for 2 very small dishes, don't waste your time or money. They also put a 10% tip onto the bill. Will definitely not be back.

Very nice place for a mid day meal. Excellent and as authentic Italian as you can find outside Italy, with the appropriate addition of Tennant beer.

Absolute joke of a restaurant. Rude waiter, waited half an hour to order half an hour for anything to come food came before our drinks a further 10 instead after . Not enough cutlery on the table for our party we had to share as noone brought any got our order wrong. Never opened the bottle of wine. Never recieved the drinks that were included in there mothers day offer but were still charged for it . Frozen veg like the stuff you get from Iceland or farm foods. Complained to a girl who said its her first day but noone else came to see us . Garlicky macaroni cheese. The fish was nice. No offer of dessert menu. Complained direct got the response they will investigate it no offer of any compensation at all after ruining our mums mother's day treat. I said I was giving them an option to rectify before I post a review got told to put review on if I wanted so here we are . Terrible service, mediocre and overpriced food, not honouring there offers as advertised, tables left sat unclean. Honestly one of our worst restaurant experiences by far.

Quite frankly the worst meal I’ve eaten in a long time. Meatballs starter was chewy and could barely get a knife through them , sea bass ? Well should have taken a magnifying glass with me to see it on the plate , tiniest bit of fish served with a load of rice which is actually all I really ate as the fish had barely anything on it to eat, I was so angry that this is what was served up and bit my tongue on the way out as did not want to cause a scene. The only thing good about here was the lovely lady waitress who served us , but definitely not coming back here again .

Very poor service. Distinctly average food. Nice wine but there are far, far better Italian restaurants around the city. Don't bother trying this one.

Service is really poor! Firstofall we didn't receive the Gaelic bread promised on the menu as a side for our meal. Secondofall the lasagne was cold inside. We also didn't get the Ketchup and Mayonnaise for our chips. Furthermore the Ananas on the Pizza Hawai was bad. But that wasn't the worst...we were also almost forced to leave half an hour before the closing time... Really unpolite. Would NOT recommend.

Early lunch so the place was very quiet, we used an online deal so was great value, but soft drinks are very overpriced. We both had pizza which was beautifully freshly made and tasted great.

Went there on the 28th December. They were very busy. We didn’t have make a reservation, we were visiting the city and looking for somewhere to have lunch. We were given a table-stand right next to the entrance. Everything was fine at the beginning. We ordered the drinks the food, was nice by the way. When we finished, my husband asked for the bill. We were waiting for quite a long time. My son wanted to go, besides it’s hard to keep a 5 year old child in one place. I went to the bar, as no one was looking at us, to ask for the bill again. Nobody was there so I had to wait for a while. After a while, two people came carrying a barrel of beer. One was our waiter, so I asked him for the bill again. His reply was “you have to wait, we are busy at the moment can’t you see” ? 😳😳. We could have just gone, I didn’t have any problem with that. Right after, another gentleman brought us the bill. I think he was Italian from the accent. Very polite. He went to bring the card machine and in the meantime, the other guy, brought the bill again 🙄🙄. We paid and we left straight away.

Decent place, but burger was quite bland that i had, also they added extras to our order without our knowledge, so that was annoying. Was quite hard to get served when we needed a drink etc. But food came out really quick and the atmosphere was nice.

I really wanted to like this place. The staff are friendly but really busy so mistakes were made. The Bolognese is the worst I've ever tasted. Not sure why they think it's acceptable. The cheesecake is woeful. It reminded me of something your grannie would throw together when she forgot she invited the family for dinner. The drinks are overpriced and the cocktails are average at best. After forgetting the dessert I had ordered then bringing the wrong one, I gave up trying to get the right order and just paid and left. A truly disappointing experience overall. Maybe go when it's not busy and you might get a better service. And order the mussels or Pizza because they're the only thing I think they can do right.

Perfect place for trying tasty food with wide range of choose. Atmosphere is calm with romantic music, so that's place is perfect for a date. Stuff is very kind, nice and follow the rules. I hope I'll back when will be in Glasgow next time.

A hidden gem in the centre of Glasgow. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and amazing food. It's well worth a visit.

Osteria is located at 17 John Street, Glasgow (within Merchant City). It's a 10 to 15 minute walk from Glasgow Central. The food we ordered was lovely. We had the chicken burger with fries and spaghetti carbonara (the carbonara was quite creamy), with bruschetta classica. For dessert, cheesecake of the day (it was lemon, very soft and airy). We also had a banana split. Big thumbs up! There were two nice members of staff alternatively waiting on people. The restaurant layout itself is very welcoming. The main part is probably the best area for people who may have any mobility problems. To the left and right of the bar, going up a few steps, you'll find seating. There is a very spacious disabled toilet located to the right of the bar area. It was spotless. Accessibility to the upstairs part of the restaurant and the ladies and gents toilets is via a spiral staircase. Again, the toilet facilities were gleaming. I think this restaurant may be dog friendly as well. Continuing on a canine theme, the S.O.T.B cocktails were the puppy's bow wows!!!! I would go to this restaurant again.

Really charasmatic, helpful and efficient server, Pratham. Lovely base and fresh ingredients at great prices. If you like your pizza with parmasan great, if you prefer it without them do ask. Kitchen team seem very good. Hoping they will be able to make their own garlic, basil and chilli oil. Chilli oil from shop not great. If they make their own oil, this could really be a fabulous fabulous place.

We had a quick and delicious meal here last night. The service was friendly and the food was really decent Italian. The advert laden outside hides a more traditional interior.

We had the most amazing food here tonight and the staff were amazing and made us feel welcome. The atmosphere of the place was amazing too. The best place we have eaten on our first trip away to Glasgow so we will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately, a very bad experience. I ordered a sausage and mushroom risotto in the expectation of receiving a good and creamy risotto, but what I received was a dish of undercooked rice, because the grain was really hard (rice did not seem to me to be appropriate for risotto). Very dry dish, the taste wasn’t bad, but the whole set wasn’t good. The appetizer of fried mushrooms was good. I heard the employees talk about another table that had also complained about the risotto being very dry and the employees commenting on things like “what he/she expected”, “the rice is just boiled”. Very beautiful and cozy place, but the food left a lot to be desired.

The food here is really tasty. Highly recommend the pizza.

Family meal (7 people which included 3 children). We all enjoyed the main meals (varied from lasagne, spaghetti, risotto to pizza) and portion sizes were very good. Based on that we decided to order desserts as well but unfortunately they were all extremely disappointing. Tiramisu was overly sweet, not enough coffee and tasted a lot like whipped cream (one of the worst we had in Italian restaurants). Ice creams sundaes also very sweet and not great quality. Overall we would recommend the restaurant and visit again for a meal but not for dessert.

🍕🍝 Stepped into this Italian joint Osteria in Glasgow, that had me feelin' like I just stumbled into a scene from The Godfather! 💼 The atmosphere was as authentic as a Sicilian grandma's secret recipes, and the joint was bigger than Don Corleone's empire! 💼🏛️ They've got more pizza and pasta variations than mob bosses have aliases – capisce? 🍕🍝 And let me tell ya, the music was thumpin' like a beat-up Cadillac cruisin' down Mulberry Street! 🚗🎶 Now, the cheesecake, fuhgeddaboudit! It was as big as a suitcase full of cash, but sweet enough to give a rival sugar rush! But let's talk 'bout that colossal calzone – it was so massive, I half expected a violin case to be smuggled inside! 🎻 And the price? Let's just say it's an offer you can't refuse! 💸 Now, the food prep time, it was quicker than a getaway car at midnight – 14 minutes flat, no funny business. ⏲️🌃

Massively overpriced for the quality, service is fairly slow and a strange vibe from the place in general. The pizza I got was that of the quality you would buy from a supermarket, also drenched in oil with little to no taste. Calamari was comical, unbelievably tiny portion for almost £8. The food my friends got was also that of pub grub quality, not really authentic Italian food, not even close.

Nice location in the center of Glasgow. The food was OK! It's was busy, so we had to wait for a while; but it was a nice place.

Can't complain about the food as it was definitely 5 star and the restaurant itself was really nice but very quiet. We ordered from the 2 courses for £18.95 menu but for my main I had ordered the Osteria burger but instead was given a chicken burger, the waiter was going to take it back but I didn't want them to make a fuss and throw out and waste a burger so instead I took that and to be honest it was really tasty. I will definitely eat from here again.

The service for drinks is haphazard, the food was nice but I was dissapointed in my aubergine lasagne as was really just sauce with 2 small pieces of aubergine and some mozzarella, no pasta or any other ingredients, the sauce was beautiful though

Nice staff and atmosphere in there but the food let it down a bit. The risotto, prawns and the carbonarra (3 separate meals) were not the best we've had and tasted a bit like it was rushed and mass produced. Have had brunch here before and it was nice so would visit again in future maybe

Went here on the 2 course menu, I had the meatballs which were really light with a tomato sauce, partner had calamari, both enjoyed them. Partner had a vegeterian pizza which was huge with just the right amount of veg, I had pollo milanese, which was the best I've had in a while, it was crispy on the outside with the chicken just right, not soggy like some places, and the arabiata was not to spicy and the pasta had just the right bite to it. I added the ice cream for afters, vanilla and caramel toffee. Don't know who's icecream they use but the toffee caramel was excellent. We both had a coffee and anyone who has seen my reviews will know ny partner likes her coffeee hot and strong, and she really liked it here. The prices are very reasonable and we can only recomend this place. Already planning another visit to try some of the other dishes which looked good, although I will struggle to go past the chicken again.

Happily I wish to begin with words " We are very much satisfied " We all enjoyed breal Authentic Italian food it was amazing because as also this is the first time we had it. ( we are from India) Nice attractive restaurant & in perfect location to drive it's customers. It was 4min walk from our hotel so it was very convenient for us to come here. We liked food very much. starting with soup, Spaghetti Bolognaise, & pizza's .. All was good. My children also enjoyed the food. Atmosphere, seating arrangements... Etc,., everything were totally superb. We got unforgettable dining experience here
