Huge portion of chicken katsu with fragrant katsu curry sauce and perfectly fried chicken that wasn’t too oily. This shop got their basics right!!! We also had their grilled eel ramen with black garlic broth. Good portion, delicious broth, plenty of beansprouts and decent portion of eel for its price. Quick and efficient customer service by the team. We are so full and satisfied and will definitely be back for more!

Edit: this restaurant gave me FOOD POISONING. Katsu curry was so bad. Not sure how it’s even possible to made it so bad? The breaded chicken was greasy and unpleasant, and the curry was overwhelmingly … peppery I think? Not nice or authentic. AND … £7.25 for a pint!?

Overall a wonderful experience, and we are both so happy we ate here! Also, they have gluten free Kikkomans soy sauce!

Very little place that's super cozy and friendly. Went here with my friend while visiting Glasgow and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. Good selection of vegan options and the portion size is great. One of the best tofu katsu curries I've had, had a little spicy kick for a katsu but loved it, and my friend loved the gyoza he had. Would definitely recommend while in Glasgow especially if you are looking for good vegan options. Maybe avoid busy times though as it's very small and you might not get seats.

A couple of friends and I came in earlier on today for lunch. The service was good, food was good. Up until a friend of mine started chocking, he was in the bathroom for a while and we started to get a bit concerned on what was going on. Staff were helpful when it came to making sure he was okay. An ambulance was later called and as he was making his way to the ambulance, a staff member chased him outside to pay his bill for the food and beer he had not touched. He was unable to respond due to his injuries, which I find was completely bang out of order. I notified a staff member, to explain how I don’t agree with this and asked for a manager. She claimed there was no manager on shift, but we got told earlier on when we first arrived that there was a manager (the manager was asking for our IDs). Not only have they made a chocking person pay their bill but they’ve also lied about the manager not being in, which was not the case.

Don't get the ramen, you have been warned. The black garlic broth had very little flavor and probably a gram of garlic in it. No black garlic whatsoever. I've had packaged ramen better than this, what an insult to Japan. The duck curry was decent but the meat was over fried. Also laughable because they literally give you one carrot piece and one potato piece in the entire dish lol. There's also something wrong with management. The staff seem very sad and tired and it's probably not their fault.

I have been going to Katsu for two years, but today a waiter, a guy that refused to tell me his name, was extremely arrogant and disrespectful. I went there today with my friends, we were 3 and they only had two seats available, I asked him to serve my friend since she was extremely hungry, while me and the other friend would wait outside until the other seat was available, he acted stupid, pretending that he wasn't understanding the request, denied to serve my friend, was arrogant, disrespectful and told us to leave the restaurant. Till this day in two years, I didn't have any problems with the restaurant, however, with that type of waiter, I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

One of the smallest restaurants in Glasgow but has a big bang presence if its Katsu your after. There's no tables just stools with a shelf running round the wall that serves as a place to put your plates. Meals come with Misu soup and are always good sized portions that leave you full. You can have it with rice or noodles but I'd recommend going for rice with the Katsu chicken. Never had any of the deserts as always filled with the main course but what I've seen on the menu they look just as good.

This 4 is actually more like a 4.5. I ordered the chicken thighs katsu curry and it came quickly and was delicious. I could see them frying the chicken thighs from fresh. My girlfriend ordered a vegetable ramen and she thought it was alright. The main problem was they served me my curry almost immediately and the ramen took around 15 mins to arrive, I was essentially almost done my meal by the time her food came. If I waited it would have been stone cold. If I can give my unsolicited advice- the menu is just too large here. I have a feeling that’s why the ramen took so long. The menu contains curry, ramen, sushi, a dozen appetizers, salad, yakisoba etc. and that is a huge and diverse range for a kitchen with 2-3 chefs. Given that you only have around 12 seats and quick turnover is key: the focus should be on the curry and one or two other items that have economies of scope with the katsu curry.

I have literally walked past Katsu ten times a week since it first opened, and last night was the first time I've taken a chance and popped in for some pre-cinema food, as it's generally too busy to be seated when I have popped by. Thankfully there was room at the inn, I opted for the classics; salmon sashimi and the chicken breast Katsu and rice. I waited for fifteen minutes, but imagine my surprise when I am presented with a card machine and the bill instead of my food. To be honest, I must have been so confused, I just went along with it, thinking it was either the way they do things, or I looked like I had neither means it inclination to pay my way. After it became clear I wasn't going anywhere after tapping my card, the wait staff thankfully realised their error, and not only rushed my food out to me, but very kindly comped me a free meal for my next visit. And, my days, there will definitely be a return visit. The sashimi was fresh and beautifully presented, the wasabi paste complemented it perfectly. The katsu itself was fantastic, the chicken tender and the panko crispy, with a rich, flavourful sauce and a gargantuan helping of perfectly sticky rice. The portion sizes were also extremely healthy, there was honestly enough for a meal for two between both courses, but I bravely managed to clear both plates. Oh, and all katsu dishes come with some delicious miso soup as well, ye really make sure you end up loosening that belt buckle a couple notches before leaving. Overall, the ambience is really nice and relaxed, with cool music on in the background, and a nice mix of clientele, although as I said before, this is a busy shop, so there is a one in/one out kinda vibe, but to be very honest, when the food is this good it's only to be expected. I'll definitely be back, and I'll be telling all my friends, although it may be a better bet for a solo experience over a packed pals get together.

I came in with 2 friends because we really wanted to experience Japanese katsu. They had us sit in front of the kitchen which was okey and added to the experience, but it was very tight and felt like you were blocking the service of the restaurant. Before going to the toilet I noticed that they were 3 empty spots by the window were there was space. I asked the waitress if we could move there but she acted like she didn't understood what I was saying in clear English. I had to nod to make her understand at which point she surprisingly said "but there is someone sitting there" I realised at this point that there won't be a meaningful communication established and I would be lucky enough if I am to get food at all so I neverminded her and proceeded to the toilet because we were all hungry. My friends ordered bento boxes. First the miso soups were served which where excellent!!! Then the bentos arrived. As I started eating I noticed something out of place in my salad section.. . Something didn't looked right. Upon inspection I realised that it was a huge dead bug approximately 1cm long and black. Making it a huge distinction from the rest of the colourful salad. The bug was also covered in dressing which means that it was in the fresh salad stored and unnoticed. We laughed with my friends and I picked It up with the chopsticks to show it to the waitress which by this point she was overlooking. I nod to her that "hello would you like to see a bug?" Very politely and joyfully. She then looked and she said "excuse me? To which I replied "a bug". She then continued to reply with "what?" To which I also continued to reply "a bug" in again clear English..... nevertheless this continued for some time to which I had to even re-create the sound of BUUUZZZZZZZ BUZZZZZZZ hoping that this might catch her attention hahahah and bring up memories of what bug is in English and how a bug looks universally around the world. At this point both my friends had to intervene and support providing the terms "insect" which pressured the waitress to accept that all 4 of us (including her) are looking at a big dead black bug and we are not playing dump. She went back and forth clearly distressed to which she decided to ask..... "what now?" Like it was my choice that the bug was there... I said"i don't know...." with her saying if I maybe just want a new bento box as a last option.... when it should have been offered long ago. I smiled and said "don't worry about it, it was in the salad anyway but here you can have it as souvenir" putting it on a napkin and giving to her. We continued eating our meals which were very tasty and well cooked while joking about it but we were able to overheard them talking and arguing about in the back of the kitchen. Here to clarify that all stuff was Chinese which is funny but not a big deal. In my local Japanese restaurant all stuff are Polish on the other hand hahahaha. After they finished arguing the waitress was forced to come out and to say in a scripted manner that the bug was actually an overburned PANKO piece miraculously ending up in my salad..... all the while the female kitchen cook was vowing that never such thing could have taken place and kept spelling the word ...P.A.N.K.O. like we don't know what panko is. (Fun fact I cook panko very often). At this point we all smiled politely and decided to not confront and continued with our meals..... when the time arrived to pay we were presented with the card machine displaying the whole amount and we were even asked for tipping. I humored with the bug in the paper offered before as a tip and paid 45 pounds for our food.. no talk for discount or something.. you got to love being treated as stupid when you go eat somewhere... especially when it's a different cultures

The restaurant staff are irresponsible, rude and straight up lie instead of admitting their mistakes. They have recently stopped taking orders through Deliveroo, but have failed to remove the store front on Deliveroo, which results in the restaurant showing up on Deliveroo. You can place the order, which will never be accepted and it will cancel automatically in about an hour. When I called the restaurant on May 15, to alert them to this issue, the guy handling the phone was "I dont care you wasted your time. We don't care if the restaurant shows up on Deliveroo or not. We just dont accept orders from Deliveroo, thats all". He also implied that I'm making up a story, which was an interesting moment :) It's perfectly fine for a restaurant to withdraw from a platform. But you would expect them to exhibit an iota of responsibility towards their customers. This incident reflect the values and the level of responsibility by the establishment. After this, I no longer trust them on the quality and hygiene of the food or anything else I would definitely not like to imagine! It was good while it lasted.

Went in today for dinner and loved it! My boyfriend tried and loved the miso soup, as well as the duck katsu curry he ordered. I went for the pork gyoza ramen which was very flavourful, one of the best ramen ive had, not to mention the portion sizes were quite generous. What tied it all together was the decor for me, it’s very cute and has a feeling of comfort to it. All together a very nice experience!

I went to Katsu to get some vegan dishes to take away. When I enquired, they told me that everything was cooked in one fryer (vegan, seafood and meat together). This means that none of of the hot food is vegan.

Absolutely banging. Not just the food but the classic naughties tunes and the light show in the pavement. Glasgow is renowned for food costing the earth. But this place is really cheap. £10 for mushroom katsu which heaps of food and you get some soup for starters for free. 100% will be back. So happy I found somewhere that doesn't cost the earth to eat. Thank you!

So we went here for dinner and i tried their amazing avocado Katsu and ended up going at this same place for next day lunch as there are various options which you would love to try. The service guy Fisher is very nice and polite which made a difference as i was not quite happy with the other places i visited while traveling in this city. Food is affordable and tasty should give it a try definitely.

Really enjoyed our visit here when visiting Glasgow. It was quiet when we arrived however the restaurant filled up quickly and seemed popular which is always a good sign. We tried a number of dishes, The menu is excellent and it would need to be with plenty of similar restaurants nearby. Price wise it is cheaper than others nearby I would say. We received some excellent miso soup to start which was full of flavour. We chose two appetisers in the salt and chilli chips and chicken wings which were both good too. The spice level was fine for me and not too salty. The tempura prawns were excellent, as mentioned there are a number of similar places nearby, we have eaten in a number of these and these were the best yet. We both ordered katsu and enjoyed the dishes. The one criticism I have is there was possibly too much sauce making it heavier but the sauce tasted great and it’s better than not having enough! We will definitely be back again.

i cannot express enough how much i recommend this restaurant. we popped in for dinner and were immediately seated and served super quickly. we ordered karage chicken and pork gyozas to start which were unbelievable. not only that but we were each given a miso soup (free of charge) which was unreal. we both ordered a duck katsu for our mains which were huge portions and so so delicious. we left with full bellies and enough food for a midnight meal later on and our food came to less than £50 so very very pleased. thank you!

Considering the limited space for customers, I would recommend asking for a table. Personally, I always get a table, even when it seems there’s no room as you walk by. I tried a few other dishes but Chicken Katsu is the most recommend dish that you should try!

I've ordered from Katsu a few times with no issues and their food has always been amazing, however I wanted to warn customers ordering online about how my recent order was handled. I ordered a Katsu curry but the sauce was missing. I called to see if they could send some out and they said their drivers were busy but to call back in 10 minutes. I did, but when I spoke, they hung up! This happened three times- It was obvious they were deliberately avoiding my calls. Eventually the woman on the phone spoke to me and said all she could do was offer a discount for when I'm in the restaurant, which I was understanding about, but when I went to give my details that she asked for, she hung up before I could. I wasn't rude and I was completely understanding of the situation with the order- mistakes happen. I was annoyed by how they handled it- 100% unprofessional.

Great food, great service and everything is perfectly clean, from their kitchen (open kitchen) to toilet... Place is a bit small and narrow at first, but when you sit down, it turns out to be really cozy. The staff are very welcoming and polite. The food is very tasty!

Great variety, only feedback is on the sushi platter to allow customers to pick out the sushi that'll be on it. Otherwise food and service was great.

Enjoyed the food, However, when calling back to discuss being overcharged. I was told The automatically add a service charge , I simply questioned if this was normal for Two people. I then got a long story about someone washing the dishes people preparing my food, making me drinks. (To me, this is just running a restaurant ) The person on the phone was then trying to guilt trip me asking if I wanted my money back I can come in and they can take it out of the tip jar. Kept asking me questions on the phone to simply talk over me . When asking for person’s name, she hung up on me .

Visited Sapporo Teppanyaki for the first time for a lunch date with my wife! The food was amazing along with the atmosphere that the chefs create while the food is prepared in front of you! Definitely will visit again! Slightly bit pricey but worth the experience!
