Ordered over £200 worth of deliveries in the space of 6 weeks on Deliveroo had rewards built up as in discounts on next orders then out of nowhere they decided I live to far and won’t deliver anymore but everywhere else does! So yeah pretty disappointed zero customer loyalty or appreciation.

Fantastic restaurant; best Japanese restaurant I've been to Service was super quick; barely any wait for the food The menu has so many great options I ordered California sushi rolls and chicken katsu sushi rolls, as well as miso soup. They have a range of sushi options, katsu curry, ramen and way more. The food was delicious and really filling.

Food is great and portion sizes are really big! Make sure you flip over the menus on the table- they are not placemats! We were confused after she handed us a sushi and specials menu and thought that was it as did several other tables all looking confused.

Some of the tastiest food I've had, great value too! Wonderful service as well. Very recommended.

Over two and a half hours before I got my food, this is an absolute disgrace. The longest I have ever waited in my life! Tried to call for an update and phone number not in use. Truly abysmal service.

Delivery was in good time, the food as always was really good. Unfortunately a starter was missed from the order, I know this can happen & while unfortunate I understand mistakes can happen. They phoned to say they couldn't get the item out until later which again although annoying I understand they didn't have a driver at that time however when the item arrived it was stone cold.

Disappointed how long after I ordered it turned up not up to usual standard,

I had high hopes when ordering, but unfortunately it was a let down. The Katsu curry is my favourite Japanese dish and when I received my order I could see that there was literally only a drizzle of curry sauce in which you couldn’t even taste at all. Also, the chicken wasn’t succulent at all - more hard and chewy. The only appetising thing I had was the cucumber maki and my can of Diet Coke. As for everything else, it went straight into the bin as I couldn’t finish it. I feel upset having soent

They have really stepped up the quality of the food, as far as preparation and presentation. I was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was! I haven't ordered from Pickled Ginger in a long while because everything was somewhat mediocre, but I will definitely order more often now.

Alas, very slow service to start with and the food really lacked luster...

The katsu chicken curry was very dry and there was hardly any sauce. A couple of the mini prawn and spicy tuna roll had some off tasting avocado in them. I have ordered in the past and usually I like the food but I was disappointed this time

Huge shout out to Pickled Ginger for hosting my birthday ‘party’ after a last minute let down by another venue. Myself and my partner have always had great times here and in hindsight should have booked here from the outset. We were welcomed in with open arms into a very cheery and warm environment. The playlist was absolutely immaculate in the background but we were able to have an intimate catch up with all of the party in our nice secluded booth. Everyone’s orders were executed perfectly and all tastes were catered to. The food was just superb as always; piping hot, delicious and did not have to wait long at all. We are looking forward to making this a more frequent meet-up venue and are grateful for the kind hospitality we received last night.

This place was wonderful, I really enjoyed the decor and authenticity of the place, the food wad delicious. I really enjoyed trying a bone-broth ramen for the first time! Loved the Malibu Barbie cocktail on special offer

prawn and vegetable tempura was all soggy and stuck together - overbearing taste of the oil it has been cooked in. katsu curry wasn’t great either, chicken was over cooked and sauce lumpy - very disappointing our first and last order!

We booked with Groupon and the deal was amazing. Im not sure I can believe the value for money. We used to tend to use restaurants like wagamama in town in the past but that feels like a McDonald's compared to pickled ginger.

Over 40minutes late. I rang the restaurant and they told me that my food had just left, even though my app told me it had left 20minutes beforehand. I let the server know this and they told me that the app must be down. Then when I stated that my food is still 30 minutes past the latest delivery time they didn’t apologise and just continued to blame the app. The food was freezing and inedible by the time it arrived. Tried to contact the restaurant again but there was so answer.

I ordered over £50 worth of food as a delivery and the sushi was falling apart and shockingly put together, really disappointed especially when I here nothing back about a refund, I have photos as well its a shame I can't attach them

Don't order from here, spent alot of money on this restaurant for the sushi to be half assed put together, falling apart not wrapped properly, last time I order from here

I ordered a sushi platter for my lunch to pick up. The sushi was slightly warm and the rice had no seasoning at all. The fish wasn’t cut right so it had a funny texture to it. Not a fan, won’t be back

Stopped for lunch with family. Service was lacklustre, waitress obviously preferring company of other staff than customers. Food was a mixed affair. Ramen was awful. Bland ,tastless and luke warm. Other dishes were better but more Chinese takeaway than Japanese. Tables sticky, toilets dingy. It's was edible and satisfied as a quick lunch stop. Given the competition in this market, I don't think any of my party would return.

Usually enjoy the teriyaki chicken , but it was disappointing tonight

Fine place to grab drinks, but don't expected an authentic dish. I ordered chicken teriyaki. But I got served which I believed it's a fried chicken with only teriyaki sauce& white sauce coming with rice and salad (which not anywhere near asian style). That's definitely not the authentic one, it's edible definitely but just disappointed since I personally expected it to do a nice japanese restaurant (Especially, when they got high review in google map)

We have been ordering from pickled ginger for about 3 years now, it has always been fantastic 👏 highly recommend. The Temaki rolls are the best!

Went for lunch with friends, had the salmon ramen and the broth was really good but I didn’t really like the noodles and they overcooked the salmon. We were the only ones in the place and the food took longer than expected to come! Next time I will try the sushi !!

Service was great and atmosphere was fine, but the food was shockingly bland. I've had much more flavourful ramen even just in Glasgow. The broth wasn't bad, it just didn't have much to it, not even in a subtle way. I also ordered the spicy salmon sushi and it was so lacking in spice that my friend who'd think fried rice is spicy could handle this sushi. The service was good enough that I would try them again in case it was just an off night, and nothing tasted bad, but the food left much yo be desired.

Food was really tasty but staff made us feel completely unwelcome. One girl was down right rude.

Great food! We ordered Bento boxes. All of them were good. The place lacks drink options. Most drinks mentioned in the menu are unavailable. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The ambience is good too. Definitely recommend.

If you like Japanese you'll love Pickled Ginger! Absolutely superb food, great sized portions, and definitely try the banana tempura for pudding - yum! Staff were super friendly and helpful, too. Can't ask for more. I'll definitely be going back whenever I'm in Glasgow (which might be more often now I know how good the food here is!).

Came here for lunch and loved the sushi! I had a sushi platter, one special roll, and some green tea. Even though it’s far from the city centre it’s definitely worth the trip

Delicious sushi. I recommend making reservations even though they were able to fit us in at the back counter as a drop-in, there was a free table the entire time we were there (why not just tell us how long we could stay?). The karaage was excellent but the pieces were double the size that I'm used to, so beware before ordering the larger size!

It arrived 3 hours late and the hot items we ordered had been sitting out for a good long while and it and the rest were compltely inedible. We ordered at 5 and it turned up at 8. I've put in a refund requestm but won't hold my breath. I'm really disappointed. I liked this place a lot and it used to be my go-to but I won't ever order from here again.

Took my friends who were visiting Glasgow and we all loved it. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the food and drink was fantastic! The “Parma violet” cocktail was AMAZING!

Was here for lunch to catch up with a friend. Tried their vegetable sushi platter for one, was okay, felt like means to an end, nothing exciting. Person who served us looked uninterested in the job, though did cover all the basics and seems to get on okay with colleagues.

Just stopped by, as hadn't been for a few years for Bulgogi beef and veg dumplings - not as good as it used to be. The dishes I had were average. Can't comment on others.

There is a recent comment from another person saying: “Staff were cold and harsh”. This comment is true. Some staff are nice but there is one person who seems to be always bothered since you enter the place and brings your food over your table in a bad mood as if you’re eating for free. Their food is very good but their quality is not consistent. Sometimes, their soup has no flavour or they serve 70% noddles/30% broth on a ramen. Overall, a restaurant could have ups and downs but customers must ALWAYS feel welcome and any outstanding food can be overshadowed by a bad customer service.

Tasty enough but think it's really out of order to charge £13 for the vegetable soba noodles when the only vegetable in them is onion. I think it was more or less the base noodles for the Chicken or Prawn option, which only cost about a pound more, with nothing added.

Was at restaurant last night with 4 friends, never been to a Japanese restaurant b4 so asked staff(manager)for advice and he was amazing, once we all realised what we were getting it was amazing, will definitely be back got a show booked nearby next month and I can't wait to go back,staff were all lovely 😀

The driver phoned the neighbor's buzzer several times instead of our buzzer, and left the food outside at the main entrance because they "weren't able to reach us". I wasn't aware of this and had to phone the restaurant to find out where is my delivery.

Yum yum chicken - melt in yours mouth delish Bulgogi - full of flavour & tender Chicken karaage - usually our favourite dish from Pickled Ginger (& fave Karaage chicken in Glasgow) but was less so this time Great delivery time from west end to southside.

Staff were cold and harsh. Food was nothing to write home about, felt like it was a conveyor belt and they just wanted rid of us as fast as possible so they could get the next table in. I witnessed the bar man open bottles with his mouth and touch food with his bare hands, not a great look in this post covid world.

Never got my food! They delivered somewhere else and when I tried to contact the restaurant the line was occupied constantly

We ordered our food at 6.15pm and it wasn’t delivered till 8.45pm so we paid £7 for deliver and it was 2 and 1/2 hours till we received of food and we had to put it in the microwave.

Food is so so, customer service could use some improvement.

This was my favourite sushi place. Lasts orders have been late and food is absolutely destroyed when it arrives.

Decided to try Pickled Ginger for an evening snack, and I definitely made the right choice! The Takoyaki was warm, moist, and savory, and the Raspberry & Ginger Mojito mocktail was so sweet, fizzy, and refreshing! The service is quick, and the employees were polite! 10/10, highly recommend, would eat here again!

The food was delicious as always but the delivery was over an hour late and this has been a repeated problem when ordering from Pickled Ginger. We called the restaurant twice for an update as we had received the text saying our food was on its way but it was 45 mins later and no food had arrived. The first time we called we were told the delivery person had actually only left 20 mins ago and so we should be getting our food soon. We waited another 20 minutes before calling again and this time we were told the delivery person had called to say they would be with us in 5-10 mins. When we asked when the delivery person had called them they went silent and wouldn't answer the question. It seemed that we had been lied to. There was never any apology for the delay and our food eventually arrived about 10 mins later. We ordered just after 5pm and our food arrived at 7.20pm. It was delicious but cold and we were really disappointed with how we were treated by the restaurant staff.
