1st visit here, didn't know what to expect, I loved it, food was excellent, staff were friendly yet professional.

Excellant night out, great for groups or a special occassion

We had to wait nearly 25 minutes for the chefs to arrive and start the entertainment, which was longer than I expected. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, and he really enjoyed it. The entertainment was a lot of fun, though it felt shorter compared to my previous visit. The food portions were small and a bit pricey, but overall, it was a lovely experience, and my boyfriend loved it, which is what matters. Thank you!

The food is nice and tasty, but nothing special to write home about. I had miso soup with tofu (a typical Japanese offering), and it was pretty bland. The real reason to come here is for a fun time, as the experience of the chefs cooking in front of you and making it an entertaining experience is great. We went on a quieter week night and it still took a long time for our chef to come and cook so all in all we were sitting there waiting for our food for a while. I think if we had been served a little bit faster it would've made a big difference. It's also a bit expensive for what it is, but it's alright for a special day here and there.

Overpriced. Waiters did not give us a brunch menu, so we had to order a la carte. The chefs are cool, though. They made a great show.

I had a prawns tempura at different places, it could be more crispy and fresh but it wasn’t that I expected. Sushi rolls were good but I as mentioned sea food needs to be fresh and testy. Service was great.

The food is outstanding,and it's nice that there is some entertainment from the chefs . But honestly we waited 2 hours for our food 🥺.Not what you want after work.

Wow just wow!! We absolutely loved it here. The whole experience was amazing. The staff were brilliant & entertaining. I won't spoil the experience for anyone by divulging what they do - go find out for yourselves - I promise you won't be disappointed at all. The food we had was divine. We'd never tried food like this before. Great size portions too. We'll definitely be back.

Went for a dinner in central Glasgow with easy parking nearby. The food tasted great and the performance from the chefs prepping your food is worth paying for ! Chicken is halal but please confirm on day. Each dish typically comes with rice and some sautéed potatoes

Was a bit let down with the whole experience tbh. Service was slow, food was ok and the fact they added a12.5 % service charge I thought was a bit cheeky. I know it states this but in my opinion the service wasn't good enough. For example they didn't bring out a starter for one of our party, it was only after we asked that it was fixed, other people at the table were seated after us but served all of their food before us and we waited at least 30 mins for sweets after they had been ordered. Won't be rushing back

Superb dining experience. Great food and great chefs made the whole thing just brilliant. Was busy even at 6:15 but staff managed. Our first time here and planning return very soon. Would recommend wholeheartedly. Superb.

We got the chicken terriyaki tenpanyaki which was really fun and yummy! The potatos were great with the garlic mayo! We also liked the katsu bao and duck spring rolls! The chicken gyoza was good but just normal

Brilliant food, fun for the kids, my son loved watching the cooking and the extra flourishes. The food was very tasty. Would highly recommend. If you have a bluelight card they give you a different menu, so let them know before you order.

Good fun for a group of friends but more show than substance. Food average at best.

First of all I want to be clear that the chefs were really great with their interaction with us, and the food was prepared excellently and tasted very good :) However, we were very disappointed by the service from all other members of staff. We interacted with 5 other staff members who were either rushed, quite blunt with us, and in one case one waiter made discriminatory comments to us. This unfortunately ended our evening on a bad note :( Overall we felt it was overpriced.

I love sapporo! I have been a number of times. It makes a great date, day out with friends and most recently birthday celebration where the chef came out at the end and sang happy birthday to the birthday boy complete with bongo drums. I have got the itison voucher afew times which makes it more affordable. The chefs are always great fun and very skilled at what they do. The food has never been disappointed. I paid an extra supplemet for the duck and my friend the steak, which were both cooked perfectly and delicious! Have had lovely cocktails also. It's great getting to share a seating area with other people and bonding over the fun display and tricks going on and experience a bit of a different culture. There is a service charge added to the bill, but I personally feel it is very well deserved. I will definitely be back at sapporo again in future.

Fabulous boozy brunch with entertainment and good food. The service was amazing as we were all well looked after. We will be back.

Amazing food and a great experience 😋

Not great if you're vegan or vegetarian. From the voucher menu we got there was only one main to chose from. The starter I chose was vege gyoza and I got only 3 fried gyozas while my meat eating partner got a small plate full of ribs. The value and the portions were very off and disappointing. The main was a yakisoba without tofu or any protein, meaning that you are only eating carbs for the whole meal, starters and main. The menu only marks vegetarian options and not vegan, and I got avocado sushi thinking its be vegan but it had mayo on it. Service was great and the food tasted good, nothing revolutionary, just disappointed with the choices.

Just came here to give a heads-up that, while the restaurant looks lovely and the staff seem very attentive, there’s no ramen on the menu as Google suggests! (I didn’t actually eat here.) 😆

Food had a really nice flavour and you're paying for the visuals. The chefs are quite funny and the fillet steak with honey and chilli was lovely. The duck a bit tough and bland. They didn't have sushi available the night we were in, but it didn't affect our experience like I thought it would, even though I'd have liked some. It didn't mention this when booking but things happen. It's pretty busy so service isn't great for drinks at all, and there can be a language barrier as the music coming from the hifi by the door is VERY noisy, and sometimes just repeats songs. The loud music kind of put me off as you couldn't hear yourself think let alone talk to anyone else. But overall the flavour of the food was lovely, it was nice watching the show and something a bit different, and it was joyous watching the wonder on the kids at the tables' faces. Not sure it would be somewhere I'd come that often but was enjoyable.

As much an entertainment show as a dining experience. Chefs are funny, skilled and deliver a great performance. I'd recommend the boozy brunch menu for a fab deal on drinks and food. Even young kids will be distracted enough not to be bored.

Finally after wanting to come to this place for years and years we made it and I can't believe we gave not visited before. Food absolutely delicious, staff friendly and portions were huge. Cannot wait to visit again

This used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow and I’m sorry to say I don’t think I’ll be back again. We walked into the restaurant to blaring music (pop and club from the last 15 years) from a very cheap boom box at the front desk. Eventually a host arrived and asked us to sit at the bar as we were 15 minutes early. The bar staff seemed to be playing with blow torches but after some time we got their attention. They poured one drink then disappeared leaving the drink under the tap. After some time a second bartender came out from the back and asked us what we had ordered because the other bar tender didn’t hear the full order so just walked away. We then got our drinks from the second bar tender. The host then sat us at a table next to the door and the blaring boombox. Somehow even though we were early by the time we were sat we had missed the majority of the potato part of the hibachi show. I then asked the host if the boombox that was on the floor next to us and basically on full volume could be turned down. He said the boombox has to be that loud so everyone in the restaurant can hear. Why they couldn’t use the speakers installed in the ceiling (that I remember them using in previous years) or why a japanese hibachi restaurant calls for pit bulls discography as the soundtrack I can’t say. What I can say is that the choice to blast pop music ruined any possibility of an atmosphere as I could barely converse with my partner whom I was sat next to. The hibachi chef themselves were pleasant but did fewer tricks and flourishes than I remembered (watching the other chefs after our meal it seemed to just be ours that was like this as the others were more expressive and did the full routine I remembered). The waitstaff were lovely but didn’t offset the blunt, uncaring, and unaccommodating host.

Extortionate pricing, I understand that the experience of the chef cooking it right in front of you is a part of what you're paying for, but then what is the service charge for? At the end of the day it's a restaurant that serves meh food for high prices with an additional service charge added on.

You go here for the brief theatrics, otherwise the food is bland and uninventive, and we were waiting for a long time for any of it. I came to try some Japanese food, and I still believe I'm yet to do so. This would be better suited for families with kids I'd suspect, but patience will still be needed.

Lovely place to eat. Sometimes you need to shout staff over to order more drinks but the food is lovely.

Seats too close together as in couldn't . Had to wait ages to be served anything..over 30 mins for 1st drink whilst many others ate..at same table.

Went to Sapporo to celebrate my daughters birthday and had a great time. We were seated relatively quickly once all our party had arrived. Service was quick for refreshments, and the waitress was patient as we took our time to order from the menu. It was fun watching the chef cook your meal in front of you, and they really put on a show. The atmosphere is added to from the other tables as everyone can be heard laughing and cheering as the chef flicks cooked potato slices for you to catch in your mouth. Looking around the tables, it reminded me of a nest full of chick's with their mouths open as their mother comes back to feed them. Such a laugh. I don't think it's a place to come if you want a quiet romantic meal but if you come in a group you will have a blast. Oh, and the food is delicious.

It's a good experience to see them cooking your food and they put on a show for you to keep you entertained. Certainly the funnest dinner I've been to. The food was just okay, I don't know if it's because we using an itison voucher/menu, but the food wasn't anything to remember unfortunately.

Great experience for the kids. They loved the entertainment and the flames. Food was good but they forgot to make anything for my wife and kids. We had to call the chef out to cook up more chicken for the kids. My wife’s tofu main came out last after i’d finished most of my main course. The staff were lovely but the kids couldn’t wait that long for their main course. We still enjoyed the night but i cant give 5/5.

Cannot fault this place. Service was amazing. The staff where all amazing, so happy and so friendly. Most importantly the food was also amazing. First time at sapporo and will definitely be back. Really good night and great atmosphere.

We eat at Sapporo Teppanyaki Glasgow today with our 1.5 year old son who is allergic to tree nuts. I don't want to go into too much detail but we had an incident due to miscommunication with our server, however, management took ownership of the situation, handled it in our favour which showed us that they value their business as well as their customers. Food was delicious and well presented, staff were friendly, facilities were high end.

Me and my partner went there to celebrate my partner's birthday and it was a great experience. The food was good and the service was also excellent. Definitely a good choice if you want to take your special someone to a fun date.

I was invited here by my friend for iftar and she had a 50% student discount set up. We are both students but only my friend brought her ID with her as it was her invite. The lady (vetta?) said okay, gave us the menus and told us which foods applied for the discount only to give us the bill at the end with 50% applied to one person and not the other. She and said "I thought about it and changed my mind" After we had eaten. At this point we were upset and annoyed at the mistreatment. Please clarify your policy in the beginning 😭 so we could at least go somewhere else with better hospitality. Even the treatment from the door to the table was rude; saying "Show me your student ID" before a hello or a welcome. Is this how you greet people?

Fun experience, the beginning of the meal is interactive but once they have finished cooking you are left alone to eat which I appreciated. I wasn't prepared nor did I enjoy the part where the chef throws potatoes at you and you have to catch them in your mouth. Other than that it was good, I'm just not a very outgoing person in that way. The food was good, especially the starters. The staff were very accommodating and polite, I didnt feel like I was a nuisance to them which is always nice. If you're looking for something different, maybe for a first date, a birthday or just to mix things up in your dinner schedule, this is a cool place to try.

Absolutely love Saporro, it's an amazing experience on top of amazing food. If you ever get the Itison deal it's an absolute bargain. A great idea for a date night or family meal.

Place is looking quite tired and run down, no lock on the toilet door, toilet rolls just stacked up on the floor etc. The lady cooking for us was amazing, but the rest of the staff were quite irritable and a bit 'annoyed' at being there. Food is fine, all a bit same same and you are really paying for the show, but this place needs to work on its presentation and service to warrant a visit. Overpriced for now.

I would recommend as a fun experience in Glasgow, especially for large groups. The food was tasty, and the communal experience was very enjoyable. The show was a bit vanilla, but is still worth going once for. The staff really give this place the fourth star.

I made a reservation for my son's 4th birthday over a month in advance for a party of 15. Despite arriving early, we were met by a manager who was incredibly rude, though we tried to overlook it for our son's special day. The waiter took 45 minutes to even take our order, and seemed disinterested and uninformed about the menu. After waiting for quite some time, we were informed that there was no lamb left, which could have been communicated earlier. Despite our attempts to address the issues with the manager, we were continuously ignored, and when we finally did speak with her, she was confrontational and physically aggressive. The food itself was disappointing, with greasy and flavorless dishes, and the portions for the kids were minimal. Despite seeing other tables receiving entertaining displays, our party received none of that, despite it being my son's birthday. Upon receiving the bill, we discovered several overcharges, including for the lamb that was never served. We had guests from London and China, and I am still shocked at the abysmal service and rude treatment we received. Even a small gesture, like a performance during cooking, would have helped salvage the experience. Overall, it felt like we were discriminated against. I typically don't leave negative reviews, but I wouldn't want others to endure what we did. Unfortunately, our son's birthday lunch was completely ruined, and even when we asked for the table to be cleared so we could cut the cake, we were left waiting for 30 minutes without any assistance, prompting us to take matters into our own hands and cut the cake at the bar before leaving.

Wow , if you want to end up in A&E with food poisoning definitely visit this place ,cross contamination using same knife to eat chicken fish and red meat chef’s don’t speak any English they give you tons of over cooked rice and potatoes, it took them 1 hour just to take our orders , the old women at the reception needs sacked awful attitude really rude she assaulted my wife and was shouting at her for no reason what so ever rude polish grey haired !! we will be complaining to you’re head office . Absolutely disgusting behaviour from every member of staff , no lack of communication what so ever we were charged almost £300 plus service charge for one of the worst lunch ever !!

Tried out Sapporo after a recommendation from family as a date night with the girlfriend and couldn't recommend the place enough service was fantastic, loved the atmosphere and the food was superb.

I came here for my friend’s birthday and I had a really lovely time. It was fun to see the chef make the food in front of us and the staff were lovely. We had a starter, main and sushi and the food was amazing. (were students so we had 50% off and we each spent from about £20-30). I will definitely be coming back.

Had a Christmas night out here on 23/12/2023 & the service & entertainment was first class. The food was absolutely incredible & would highly recommend giving this a try.

Basic, tasteless and way overpriced food. The live cooking show is alright, although they keep doing exact same thing as when I was there 4 years ago (the second time I ended up being there outwith my decision).

Definitely will go back,, one of our go to in Glasgow. Family friendly and the staff are brilliant. Keeps you entertain while enjoying the meal. A dining experience, it is.

Fantastic place and amazing food. The show was delivered with a fun performance which turned our dinner into experience. Price was very reasonable also, considering what you get for money.

The food is OK, nothing special and quite mediocre. The appeal is the entertainment and the chefs. Overall it's a decent restaurant but very over priced for the quality of food in my opinion. I had tempura prawns and they tasted of nothing, I've had better food at wagamama. Some of the wait staff leave much to be desired.

Was reluctant to go there after reading some bad reviews but I can say I had a good time and the food was great. Place has good aesthetics as well.

I would love to give Sapporo Teppanyaki a higher rating. The entertainment was fantastic and personal. However, for such a high price, I was expecting excellent food, the kind that melts in your mouth. I'm afraid it just wasn't that. The food was mediocre, and its low quality is only accentuated by the high price point.
