Temaki in Glasgow City

I have ordered from here many times. This was my first time eating inside Temaki. The food was presented nicely. It took a little bit of time to get served even just for the drinks. It is a really small place that is also very busy with takeaway orders. The seating is very crammed so if space is your thing you're not gonna get it here. This is a great place for fantastic food is a Street style environment.

This was probably m'y best asian dining experience in Glasgow . The ramen IS brilliant quality and value, my only complaint would be it could do with a couple more beansprouts. I loved the apple nippon, although its slightly more expensive than i would expect. The service was brilliant, kind and polite waiteress and fast service. I really liked the decor and even more the solo diner friendlyness of the seating arrangement, very authentic. I genuinly cant wait to Come back.

Lovely food with great vegetarian options

Tiny but lovely wee place. Service was very prompt, we were seated and eating delicious sushi and katsu within 10 minute of walking in the door. Food was delicious, reasonably good value too. Katsu was a nice big portion and the sushi burrito wasn't huge, but it tasted soooo fresh. Highly recommend.

Biggest pot of ramen, hot and spicy

Service was fine, staff lovely but the food was just….. meh. No real flavours. We ordered the spicy broth and it was a bit watery. Prawn tempura was fine, they were big, decent prawns but again, the dipping sauce was lacking. Overall, it was not impactful at all, I wouldn’t go back, just wasn’t great.

Ordered a take away, nice staff and fast service but just felt the food lacked depth of flavour. Broth was quite tasteless (I got spicy) and was just a bit disappointed.

Great Japanese 🍙🍡 Foodie with amazing service, very reasonably priced! Perfect location (next to Glasgow Central station 🚉) make it one of the best option to pop in especially that they are open even in such a Special Bank Holidays like Christmas Day (this is when I visited them!) 👏👏

Came across this whilst on city trip in Glasgow, went back twice. Amazing food, lots of vegetarian/vegan options and kind staff. Intimate atmosphere. Would recommend the tofu katsu k-cup and the spicy mushroom k-cup in particular!

Not bowfing but not great and grossly over priced. U can get curry chips for a 3rd of the price elsewhere. Actually annoyed at myself for spending it. Won't be back

Had ramen and sushi here yesterday, the sushi was super fresh and the ramen was delicious too will defo be back (vegan options are fabulous as well)

Wow! This place is a hidden gem! Tiny place but the food is excellent. The ramen was excellent. I got the chicken ramen with chilli broth. It was very spicy but I loved it. Feels like an authentic Japanese restaurant.

I had a problem issue with a staff member however the manager Callum went out of his way to resolve the situation, i will certainly be going back

Great place!! Found this cozy corner with lively music and good vegetarian options too . Portions size are big and can easily be shared. If you looking for hot and fresh food this is the place to be at . Thank you team Temaki

Had take out chicken and noodles . The chicken didn’t taste like it was freshly made. More like microwaved food. Dissapointed and waste of money

A great spot — was not expecting the food in a little place near the train station to be so good! The lunch bento comes with katsu, rice, salad, 2 gyoza and miso soup. Great value for 8.45! The katsu was warming and spicy and the portion was ideal for a hungry lunchtime. Would recommend! Really comfortable to dine alone here as well.

Amazing taste, I'm partial to a chicken bento box and a side of pork gyozas for the variety of tastes and for a good price. A must visit for anyone who likes Japanese food while visiting Glasgow! The restaurant is beautiful itself and a very cosy atmosphere, it isn't the biggest restaurant so be prepared for it to be full!

I am sorry to say this but we had a very bad experience with a rude waitress. We were trying to simply ask a question regarding our take away order after waiting for a long time, but the staff didn't even allow us to talk, was very dismissive and replied very abruptly. Worst customer service I have seen in ages. First and last time for me here.

This place used to be great. Katsu curry was really good - the sauce was nicely tasted and contained onions and some carrot and potato (like a Katsu curry should) - now it’s just bland sauce and rice with chicken … could make better in the house. There is also now some competition in the area and they clearly put much more effort into their food as it’s served with onions and potato and garnish plus you can ask for anything removed or added with no hassle. In Temaki when I asked if I could have onions a small Asian girl just said no … my god how bad is that for customer service!! Gave Temaki second and third chances and just disappointed … not like it used to be and unless they change will continue to lose trade to better eateries round the corner selling the same dishes (but offering better quality)

I ordered through Uber eats tonight, 7.50 pm. Delivery supposed to arrive at 8.45. At 9 no one had showed up so I decided to call the restaurant given that I couldn’t track my driver on the app. They told me that once they give food to the driver they basically don’t care about anything else! Only if you order through Just eat they have control on your order, otherwise she told me “you need to call Uber eats and ask for a refund cause the status of the order is completed (but wasn’t delivered to my address)! And then you order again and what??? Wait for another hour or so? Temaki get the money and doesn’t care about their customers! She didn’t offer anything in compensation and I was pretty angry… and also at some point she said it wasn’t her problem! Nice to hear that your customers are not your problem, Temaki. I have been in hospitality for many years and THIS IS JUST NOT THE WAY you deal with unhappy customers! Will never go or order from them again!

I used to call this place one of my favourites, I’ve been visiting almost once a week, even gifted the staff desserts from my own work previously. I always come for takeaways on my way home from work and have sat in a few times too. I almost always ask for kimchi fried rice but I add salmon to it for extra protein. I always pay extra which is absolutely fine and there’s never been an issue. I have just been in to order the same thing and been told they don’t do that? I said I have it all the time, same chefs, one of the usual waitresses. But just told no. Honestly I can understand from managing restaurants myself that sometimes things aren’t possible. But as a regular customer being told “because the chef said so” is pretty appalling and because of this I probably won’t be back.

Best chicken Katsu I had to date. Chicken was tender, juicy and still crisp outside regardless of the curry on top. Rice on point, and good quality rice too.

Little Japanese gem in Glasgow city. Highly recommended. I'll go back soon x

Decent food with generous portions

We went here on our first night in Glasgow and I had the Raman and my Fiancé had the Katsu Curry, both of us loved it! We then tried many restaurants the next day and nothing compared to Temaki so we went back in the evening. Normally I don't like Katsu Curry but after trying my Fiancé's I decided to have a bowl of my own and it was honestly glorious! It tasted incredible unlike the bland taste you normally get from Wagamama when ordering the Katsu. The staff were awesome and super helpful and friendly. Great place!

For an easy, light and tasty lunch. Had salmon katsu rice for the first time and very good taste. Good ratio quality Vs. Price. It can be busy of people waiting for their take-away. So be patient

Good place for dining but Never order Katsu curry from Temaki because the curry quantity will be very less and you have to have the rice dry.

Had a minor issue with a delivery but the lovely guy on the phone sorted it out without any fuss. 10/10 service and food. Thank you guys so much

Ordered take away from here today and it was so tasteless I was genuinely worried that I had caught Covid. I’ve attached a picture of their chicken bento which looks like a kids meal.

Used to be my favourite place for Katsu curry but not now due to a simple reason which could be easily fixed. Temaki used to serve their cats curry with nice cooked onions and potato or sweet potato in the sauce with chicken - now you just get sauce with chickan and rice - seem to be a slipping of standards and lack of effort. What was more shocking to me was I asked the girl serving (small asian girl) if it were possible to add onions to my sauce (not the horrible crusty fried onions they seem to be determined to garnish with) and I was told rudely not possible. Well I now go to Bao round the corner which serves the curry with onions and a whatever I asked for on top - much more accommodating to customers and the sauce was nice also. After years of going to Temaki I have had to look elsewhere just because they have slipped in standards - both in the serving and customer focus which could so easily be changed.

Lovely place, great service, and the chicken katsu curry is ridiculously good

I ordered a takeaway last night and although it took 3 hours to deliver, I was contacted twice telephonically with reasons for the delay (cycle race) and offers to cancel. I decided to go ahead and was offered a bottle of wine for my understanding. The food I ordered was freshly prepared and truly delicious when it arrived. California rolls, tofu starter and the K Cup with beef are recommended and my family were envious that they had gone out and didn't get a look in on my tasty dinner. Thank you to the manager on duty for turning a potential negative experience into something positive. We'll be back!

I came here for some early lunch at midday. The servers were 2 lovely ladies who were very friendly. I love the aesthetic of the place, its small but really feels like you're in a street food/food market. I ordered chicken teriyaki rice bowl with egg fried rice and chicken gyoza. It was made fresh to order and the flavours were beautiful. I highly recommend. Great service. Great prices. Great ambience. Will be back again!

Dreadful service. Went in and placed an takeaway order, paid straightway then nearly 40mins later it was clear the kitchen forgot about my order. The excuse given was pitiful. Especially when I watched countless people enter after me, order then leave within 10mins. My order only arrived after I challenged the wait time. Won't be back. Plenty of other places with better service.

Grabbed some late evening food before train home, never been before. Will 100% be back! Nice causal atmosphere and styling, freshly made dishes served piping hot, and absolutely delicious! Knowledgable friendly staff, will definately be back!

Was looking for somewhere to eat that was open beyond 10pm on a Saturday (surprising how many places close at 10pm or earlier!) and walked past Temaki. Looked at the menu and figured that this is worth a try. Seated quickly, server was attentive, ordered Pork Gyōza for starters and I ordered the Beef Ramen with chilli broth and better half order Kimchi Fried Rice. Oh my, the broth in my ramen was just ridiculously good! Superb portions, steaming hot too. The gyōza were great too as was the Kimchi Fried Rice. Server checked on us to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything else. Superb stuff, will return!

My all time favourite food place in glasgow. The food is INCREDIBLE!! The portions are also absolutely HUGE. Such good value for money and the staff are so lovely too. I’ve tried most of their menu and honestly everything I have tried has been 10/10. I honestly can’t fault this place at all. The food is fresh and tasty and affordable. A must try for foodies in glasgow! (I highly recommend the Chilli Chicken Kcup)

Awesome Japanese vegan food we had here

On this most recent visit they got our order wrong, and then decided to add a 15% tip onto our order without our knowledge (the bill came to £28 and they just told us it was £31). It was only after we confronted them about an incorrect addition that they tried to convince us we added the tip ourselves, when we had never even touched the card reader. On a previous trip we had mentioned my partner is allergic to onion and garlic. They said the food he purchased didn't contain onion and garlic, but actually the sauce it was covered in did contain garlic. Food is tasty but buy at your own risk and check the bill!

Went here for just a random walk-in lunch, Sunday afternoon. The menu is honestly quite appealing, with quite a few really good options and I like the ability to have some foods in here suited to vegan/vegetarian diets, the lady that served me was very friendly and kind, I got the sushi bento and the salmon + tuna sushi burrito, it was fantastic. Incredibly fresh and delicious, presentation was great too. Even though the place is fairly small I would most definitely come again.

Quite good, but not hitting levels close to perfection The watery and rather tasteless ramen is quite mediocre, and the wouldn’t recommend you come here just for the ramen, especially since Maki-Ramen is just down the road. On the other hand, the Katsu Curry was bussin, and is hands down one of the best I’ve had. The service is good and friendly. They do tend to prioritise delivery orders over in-person customers, so be prepared to wait a while. The view of Hope Street is really good though so if the weather is nice, sit outside and treat yourself to some scenic Glasgow Architecture.

Really good quality, service could be a little faster but they were busy and polite. This was after 1230pm on a Thursday. Overall good prices but I do think they need to rethink price per person for buffet (£30) when larger places are under £20pp.

El lugar es pequeño pero no tuvimos problemas para tener una mesa, el servicio está bien. En cuanto a la comida, el ramen estaba muy bueno creo que de todo es lo que mereció la pena ya que el sushi era tan grande que no podías saborearlo entero en la boca y le faltaba relleno (tenía mucho arroz) y los dumplings no tenían gran calidad para el precio que tenía todo.

Food has always been tasty and comes out quickly. Staff that have served have always been friendly. Great for stopping in for a quick but delicious bite to eat. Have a bit of warm sake while you're in!

Had chicken Katsu curry from here, just loved it.

Great place for sushi in Glasgow. We wished the menu listed what was in the rolls. Really nice staff that answered all our questions. Small casual place. Ideal for solo or two people. Will come back

Called in on spec after our first two choices didn’t seem to be serving food. Anyway the food was very good and would recommend it. A busy place with lots of people calling in for takeaways. A lot of delivery drivers/cyclists calling in for orders as well.

Ordered 5 pieces of tuna and 5 pieces of salmon sashimi for dinner. At £15.50 for a takeaway, I thought the pieces would be big enough for an evening meal. What I received was more like a small starter! 5 small, very thin pieces of tuna in the form of a little flower about one inch in diameter, next to a little flower of salmon, on a small amount of seaweed. I have never seen such thin pieces of sashimi. I wish I'd asked for a refund, but by the time I arrived back to my hotel, I didn't feel like returning to Temaki in the rain. I see the other reviews are good, so I cannot understand why this meal was so small!

Great tasting food, plus it's always hot and fresh. The location is perfect and the service is very good. Highly recommended.

Nice food but the staff can't turn the music down "because the owner likes loud music". Also they make you sit facing the wall even when other tables are available.

Ordered chicken katsu curry from the main menu. The taste was good and as expected. However, curry was not in proportion with rice quantity and had leftover rice. :(

Real good food. Chicken Katsu curry is the one I usually go for. We usually go here for lunch, a little crowded. The oder process can be improved. The employees gets changed very frequently.

Have been twice, sit in and take away. Sit in: the atmosphere was lovely, however the way the seats were laid out made both of us feel extremely packed in and without any privacy like a normal restaurant. The staff inside were extremely polite when taking our order. We ordered the lunch menu, which for portion size is absolutely value for money. Loss of star for the fact my order was wrong (clearly ordered tonkatsu but received katsu, was still nice) and we never received our water even after asking multiple times. Take away: food was ready on time, packed well. Would have fathered a separate bag for the cold food Vs being tied to the straps of the hot food bag because it meant they were flung about while walking. The chilli beef ramen I ordered was a bit disappointing in that the beef itself tasted very bland for being sat in the broth for a while. The onigiri was delicious and so was the hand roll. My only suggestion for the cold food however would be to add an option when ordering online to take away wasabi and ginger, as both my pieces were overwhelmed by them because of how they were packed (and I personally dislike the flavours) Overall would come back, but likely only for take away as it ensures my order is right and it spares me from sitting in what is likely to be a consistently packed restaurant.

Nice and cozy place to get ramen, never really have issues getting a seat although it can be busy around lunch. Staff are friendly and I haven’t had any food that isn’t great yet. I particularly enjoy the salmon ramen.

Ordered food at 16:50 and told it would be delivered at 17:50, which wasn't an issue although after contacting the restaurant at 16:30 and told the order left the restaurant 30min agoand would be there promptly. At 16:45, contacting JUST EAT to be told 19:14.. food finally arrived at 19:39, which was cold!! Very disappointed..

Would have been a 4, if the service from the lady (seems like the owner) was bad. Everyone else was actually nice and welcoming. The lady was just rude, not a friendly face at all. She shrugged my mom just to get our empty bowl and she spilled some leftover soup on my dad’s Jacket and it went all over the table. She didnt even say sorry, the other staff did so prompts to him. Anyways, got the sushi burito and some bento sets which was actually good.

I really want to like this place, as its food is so good but the service is just always poor. Dining in, staff routinely forget what's been asked for and food take ages to arrive. I've done a click and collect a few times and every single time still ended up waiting 15-20min for my order, thus negating the point of getting it at an appointed time. And lastly their website isn't up to date, showed up not long after 11, as their website said it opened at 11 and the woman very rudely said they never opened until 12pm. I won't be returning as I've given this place several tries but it's just such a frustrating place.

We sat there and all the other guests ordered before us. The waitress quickly apologized but still did not take our order and focused on the other guests. Extremely unfriendly place! The night before we did take away - the food was okay, although the avocado in the sushi and sushi burrito was extremely hard.

Went there for a lunch treat. Got a chicken ramen - very generous portion, lovely miso broth, 2 types of seaweed, plenty of noodles, good amount of chicken pieces, half an egg and some crispy sprinkles. Ramen was better than I imagined and just hit the spot on the cold day. Small place, food was great, staff extremely friendly - I had to wait about 15 min, but result was worth it. Bathroom is nice too, very clean.

Very nice and cosy, everything was great, food, staff and easy.

Food was really good, little more expensive than other sushi places near by but with more of a bar atmosphere than a takeaway. Food can take a little while if lots of takeaway orders in but not unreasonably so.

My favourite place in Glasgow to grab something delicious and go

Really wanted to try this place, heard it was halal checked with staff when i got there and they said all the meat was halal even though they sell pork 😂. Asked if they could confirm their supplier or show any certificates and they were reluctant to provide any info and were very unhelpful. So obviously they have no idea what the requirements are regarding halal food and just expect you to take their word. I told them i was a doctor do you believe me! 😂

Small place but food is ok. I ordered a chicken teriyaki k-cup which was £4 more than the lunchtime special as I was told its a bigger portion (not had breakfast!). But when the customer next to me ordered the lunchtime one, yes the bowl was smaller but the amount of teriyaki there was the same as my one which was £4 more expensive. Lesson learned - cheaper option next time.

Great food, good service, cool place

Amazing vibe inside all of your classic asian food and more. Cocktails and the biggest bowls of ramen I would give it 6/5 if I could.

Very friendly and professional staff. Loved the K-cup here. Other things on menu are good as well.
