I highly recommend it!! Greek in Scotland!! Everything is wonderful!! Quantities and quality to the highest degree!! Bravo to the owner!! Elizabeth is wonderful, our waitress!!

Great food, yummy souvlaki, quick service. A little spoilt just now with the barriers up on the square.

Starter and main for £14 seemed great. Walked out still hungry. Started I had was garlic bread with veg, partner had chicken meatballs. Mine was OK. Balls were dry. Main course we both had chicken souvlaki. We both only got 4 small pieces of chicken. I had rice. Partner chips. Her chips were good. My portion of rice was dry. No sauce on plate but did have a tiny tiny salad. We har just back from zante and we had this meal at least 4 times over 2 weeks. Every place we ate it had peppers and onions with it. So we expected a Greek restaurant to do it same. Very disappointing.

Was a let down this time round,portions were overpriced for what you got,had same meal on lunch menu before so expected a little more for what you are paying,plus staff barely came near and noise level was crazy due to big crowd being very loud,which is a shame cause I really liked in here before

Starter was great but main the beef stifado the meat was quite dry, needed more sauce. We were sat outside in the sun which is lovely, but my main gripe is the charge of tap water and a dash of blackcurrant £3 come on that’s ridiculous - £6 for two you could buy 2 litres of cordial for £6! 😡 felt that really let the place down. £3 for a Diet Coke. Staff were lovely and attentive.

The best greek food in the Uk staff are great atmosphere is great good prices as well I have visited the greek islands several times and this restaurant in George Square is even better than some of the many restaurants on the island's 10 out of 10 a must go to if you want to experience real authentic greek food

Estábamos visitando George Square como turistas y decidimos venir a Elia para el almuerzo. La comida era deliciosa, especialmente el souvlaki de pollo y la sopa de pollo que era la sopa del día. La sopa quedó grabada en nuestras mentes porque sabía como la proverbial "sopa de pollo de la abuela". Sabía casero y era genial en un día frío.

The food was tasty and vibe was awesome. Had a great time!

As tourists visiting George's Square, we popped into Elia for lunch. Wow the food was great! Our favourites were the chicken souvlaki and the chicken soup (soup of the day). The soup tasted like what grandma would have cooked --- the home taste was there and very comforting on a cold day. It's still in our memories and if only Glasgow was nearby, we would have popped in for another bowl.

Lovely Greek restaurant, food was jot and nicely presented,just felt serving staff were a bit too quick when asking for order, Would go back again as my party and I enjoyed the food

Good place for a quick pint. Nice view but seems quite touristic. Have not tried the food here. Waiter was a bit pushy and wanted us to pay right away.

Always in search of authentic Greek food and so often disappointed but not this time with Elia. We only stopped for a very light bite and shared a chicken souvlaki, Greek salad and saganaki, of which all were really tasty. Great location especially when the sun is shining as out door dining offers a nice view of George’s Square.

Hemos sido asiduos al restaurante griego Elia durante años, pero desafortunadamente, ha ido cuesta abajo. Si bien entendemos que los precios han subido, el tamaño de las porciones se ha reducido dramáticamente. Lo que ahora se sirve como comida principal podría confundirse fácilmente con la porción de un niño. La calidad también se ha deteriorado. Anoche, las papas fritas estaban a medio cocinar, y las chuletas de cordero estaban exageradas — nunca había visto chuletas tan delgadas y secas en mi vida. En cuanto a la llamada ensalada en el plato, apenas valía la pena mencionar. Es decepcionante ver un lugar que una vez amamos declinar tanto. Lamentablemente, eliminaremos a Elia de nuestra lista de favoritos y no regresaremos. Qué lástima, solía ser genial.

Greek restaurant very well located on the main square, menu full of specialties, reasonable prices, a good address.

Visited for a work lunch. We got the express menu. The hummus and tzatziki came with tiny bits of pitta bread, not enough to eat all the dip. Extremely limited vegetarian options despite being a Greek restaurant. I asked to swap the chicken from the slouvaki for halloumi and would pay more if required, was told swifly no swaps allowed on the lunch menu. There wasn't anything else for me to order so I just had a starter and no main. Seems silly as they lost out on money from me for not making a simple swap. Went elsewhere for a sandwich after we left. The slouvaki is extremely small and simple - 2/3 bits of chicken, oven chips, and salad leaves on a small plate. Even for £14 was small. Fava in Edinburgh way better, or Santa Lucia (although Italian) for a work lunch - also £14 better options, better service, better food.

A lovely restaurant happy to book or use as a walk in. The food was good and staff were attentive but unobtrusive. Location was excellent right in the centre of George Square.

Had booked over social media as the online booking system wasn't working. Details confirmed by a staff member. Turned up on the Saturday evening to find the hadn't processed our booking! The restaurant was busy and the lady on the front desk, (brown hair) was extremely rude. She said the booking wasn't made and they were full, I showed her my confirmation and she abruptly said, I can't see it and shrugged her shoulders. There was no apology made and her attitude was awful. She did reluctantly find us a table but there was no acceptance of their mistake and she handled the situation poorly. The food was mostly good. The garlic bread is delicious. We had souvlaki, the chicken one was lovely, but the pork very chewy. A bit of limp mixed salad at the side, nice chips. The service went on to be good. Although we had to ask 3 times for water. The young staff members do a great job, the more mature members of the team could learn something about customer service from them!

I did not have a reservation, but the staff were very pleased to seat me. I orderd the main meal which was the lampchops with lemon potatoes. Thier was 5 lamb chops and they were infused with herbs and perfectly cooked, and the lemon potatoes went so well with the lamb. And to be honest it's was very cheap at £17.50 All in all outstanding food and great service from the staff and Alexandra was really nice..thank you..

Although the food was amazing ,I must say the sever hardly gave us a minute to sit and came to ask for our order when we asked if we can have a minute more the server left and back in less than a minute asking for the order again . As it was our first time there we asked for another minute and she rudely said do you realise there is a time limit on this table . Realistically 1.5 hours is more than enough time and a few more minutes to decide what we are having to eat would have made the experience much better . Besides being rushed for our order the food was great . I would highly recommend this place if you are not a slow eater as you will be rushed .

Cuatro estrellas para el personal pero tres estrellas para la comida - promedio. Dolmathes eran muy buenos, pero la moussaka de verduras era todo patata con poca o ninguna berenjena u otras verduras. Los souvlaki de pollo estaban tibios y secos. Disfruté de la comida, pero más debido al personal amable y atento, pero sentí que la comida podría haber sido mejor.

Found this place by chance yesterday and so glad we went in. Food and service was fantastic. Had the Pitta and Tatzatziki which was really good for starter. The Lamb Souvlaki was to die for and cooked perfectly. The chips were some of the best chips I have ever tasted. Dessert and coctails were delicious. I felt like I was back in Greece again. A very authentic Greek Restaurant. First visit but definitely not my last

Cómodo restaurante con buen personal de espera. Nos dieron los entrantes mixtos, que era bueno pero poco espectacular para el precio. Los principales - moussaka y youvetsi de carne de res probado y parecía como si recién recalentado en un microondas. No muy caro, pero realmente decepcionante comida.

¡Tan decepcionado! Normalmente nos encanta lo bueno en el restaurante griego! Esta vez los 4 tuvimos problemas con nuestra comida! ¡La caña de cordero, por lo general se cae del hueso... fue difícil! Las albóndigas estaban demasiado cocidas y parecían recalentadas... patatas asadas al limón... de nuevo una de las favoritas no eran crujientes y algunas de las patatas eran duras. La brocheta de pollo estaba demasiado cocida y la moussaka generalmente deliciosa estaba dura y demasiado cocida! No lo planteamos ya que estábamos con amigos que estaban pagando y habían reservado. Sin embargo, una vez que estuvimos charlando al día siguiente tampoco disfrutaron de la comida.

This is my favorite Greek restaurant in Glasgow. I discovered it on my first visit to the city and I always try to eat there when I'm in the area because what is served is delicious so I always leave feeling satisfied.

Everything was just surreal, amazing food..

It is a great place to have traditional Greek food. I've been there many times, and every time I was happy with the quality of the food (both taste and dish size), the service and the overall atmosphere (including the music that is Greek!). The quality of the above has been consistent all this time, and so it is an easy 5-star from me.

10/10 the food was amazing and super delicious, I would highly recommend it, the price is good and they gave us some cupcakes ❤️❤️

Excellent lunch with friends on my first visit in a long time to Elia. Staff were attentive and friendly throughout our lunch. Food quality and portions were very good we will definitely be back.

We ate very well there. The only downside is the prices, which are quite high compared to other restaurants in the area.

Nice place in a great location but the food really let it down. Souvlaki should be tender but my partners last night was woeful to say the least. I told the waitress but no refund was offered probably my fault as I should've said something sooner. Oh well I'll not be in a rush back.

I recently visited Elia Greek restaurant located in the heart of Glasgow city centre, overlooking the beautiful George Square. The location is easy to find and offers a lovely view, adding to the charm of the experience. The atmosphere inside was calming and relaxing, and it wasn’t very crowded when we went for lunch, which made it even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavors. Been in here a couple of times for lunch and for a dinner. Food is always great and the staff are nice and friendly. Highly recommend the express lunch as the selection of dishes is great.

About 6 cubes of dry pork and some under cooked chips and some green stuff £17.50.... our lass had 6 cubes of dry lamb with under cooked chips as well ...... over priced if you ask me. Complained but nobody came back to see us, Went to Greg's after. Staff where good, wine was good

How tender is the lamb here? Just take a look at the photo I’m sharing—it practically melts off the bone! Everything we tried was incredible, from the creamy tzatziki to the perfectly grilled halloumi and, of course, the show-stopping lamb. The staff made our experience even better—they welcomed us in late and never once made us feel rushed. In fact, the waiter even said, “You can stay longer if you like!”—and this was at closing time. Warm, friendly, and genuinely accommodating, with quick and professional service. Honestly, I can’t recommend this place enough!

Atmosphere isn’t the best with its busy city centre location if you arrive for lunch time. This may be different during the evening. The Kleftiko though is fantastic

Lovely authentic Greek food and excellent service

On m'apporte rapidement la carte et ma boisson. On a de la déco avec le plat "gyros" mais on n'en propose pas, logique... Après avoir fait ma commande, on m'apporte des olives, de l'huile d'olive et du pain. Que je n'ai pas commandés. "Cadeaux de la maison" pour nous faire patienter... Je n'aime pas les olives donc j'ai tout laissé...Quel gaspillage ! Demandez-nous d'abord si on aime les olives ! Effectivement avec une serveuse sur 2 qui est efficace et l'autre qui est dans la lune, ça commence bien... J'ai choisi le "express two courses lunch menu" . En entrée, j'ai pris du tzatziki avec pain pita. Pour le plat j'ai pris du souvlaki de porc avec salade & frites. Le tzatziki était bien assaisonné, même si on ne sentait pas beaucoup le concombre. Le pain pita, c'est une blague. Il n'est pas frais et si on a un petit pain pita entier, c'est bien (cf photo). Le plat a pris pas mal de temps à arriver (alors qu'on était 3 tables !). La viande de porc était très tendre, bien assaisonnée & bonne. Je ne peux pas en dire autant de la salade avec une vinaigrette tout du long qui n'était pas à mon goût du tout. Les frites étaient fades. Tarifs corrects.

We had a great selection of meal off the 2 courses for £14 menu. Chicken meatballs in a light pepper sauce. A moussaka main and a chicken souvlaki with chips,and side if lemon potatoes, absolutely delicious. Tentative staff and great value for money, oh great olives if your into olives great produce.

I could not recommend coming here. I came with my friend for dinner here tonight, it looked promising and my friend said he had been here before and was very forthcoming about the portions of food you get relative to the price. The prices really took me to expect that the portions of food would match the prices. Unfortunately we were both disappointed to see that for what we payed for, the portions were well under expectations, starter sizes. I ordered the Lamb souvlaki while my friend ordered the mixed grill. My friend mentioned to me while we were puzzled by the entree sized portions that the size were double last year according to his memory. I got a miserable plate of five bite sized portions of lamb for the 'low, low price' of £17! With 7 pieces of potato and an undressed pile of leaves as a salad on the side. Also a 'cheap' pint of Coke for £4.50!! I usually expect Greek restaurants for being generous, being a Melburnian, a city with over half a million Greek Australians, the restaurants there just serve you with massive portions, same as the Greek restaurants in Berlin! If you enjoy being ripped off, by all means come to this restaurant. 5 stars for the grift guys! I am sorry guys, but because I left hungry and felt completely ripped off, I had to give you a bad review, and I am the guy who usually leaves 5 stars!

We have been here a few times and as usual the food was amazing. We had Dakos for starters, Beef Stifado and Soufitos which was beef medallions with a lemon and garlic sauce, oven baked potatoes and vegetables with a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Excellent service and value for money .

Been here on many occasions, but this year I noticed a difference in the food….not as good as it used to be. Earlier in the year we visited and I was disappointed with the food, I normally have hummus then chicken souvlaki, the food wasn’t as good as normal, I thought it was a one off perhaps the usual chef was off. Our next visit the food was worse than the time before, hummus was watery & tasteless, the lemon potatoes weren’t lemony and very greasy, just not the lovely food this place used to serve. I assume they’ve had a change of chef, sadly we won’t be back. Staff aren’t up to much either, they forget drinks and mess up your food order etc. Not good at all…..shame, I really liked it in there. 🥺

I went here for a nice dinner with my husband, sadly the food was very disappointing. The best part of it was the olives and bread that you get as a complementary starter. The food was not fresh and it tasted days old and reheated. The vegetable mousaka was very disappointing we couldn’t eat even half of it. And the spinach and cheese pie tasted like an expired pie u forgot in your fridge. We paid over£50. Would definitely not recommend this place.

We needed a quick & light lunch in central Glasgow, so chose the Eliá in George Square. My wife & I had the Greek salad & my daughter had the express lunch. The food was excellent, quickly served by competent & friendly staff. We would certainly recommend this restaurant.

Visited this restaurant last night. Had hummus, olives and Tyrokafteri for starters. Vegetarian mousaka and Beef Stifado for main. Absolutely beautiful food. Service was second to none. Will definitely visit again when next in Glasgow.

Our group of eight friends left Eliá totally satisfied. Great service, a pleasant atmosphere and delicious food made for a totally enjoyable dinner. The pastitsio, soufrito, kleftiko and spanakopita were all very good and the portions were ample. We all highly recommend checking out this restaurant.

Appalling customer service, very disappointing. I have been a customer of this restaurant a few times before and today I was walked past it with my one year old baby (in the pram). I was looking for a baby change so I thought I would just quickly ask the waiter if I could use it, as unfortunately I did not have time to stop for lunch. It was 11.20am, the restaurant was extremely quiet, but I was told that ‘The boss does not allow me to use the baby change if I am not going to eat in the restaurant’. Obviously the boss and the waiter guy have never been babies themselves, and obviously they have never had babies or they might know that if if I wanted to stop for lunch - it would not have been possible as with a baby things are always a bit more complicated. Anyway, I will certainly never return to this restaurant in the future, as they obviously treat people in such an appalling manner. I will in fact use the restaurant next door who were incredibly friendly and understanding and allowed be to use their baby change without any problems.

Had lunch yesterday it was amazing great place definitely recommend .

Choice on the lunch menu is good value, however chips were a bit soggy. Apart from that everything was great Very friendly staff. I took my dog with me and staff were very good with her, but I had to ask for water and no treats offered 🐾😔. I love however that they accept dogs so will be back.

Excellent service, good wine, delicious food: perfect. (I had the taramosalata with pitta bread; and dolmathes.) Plus a glass of the house rose wine. Sudip and Sara gave great service.
