Lovely little restaurant in the Brutalist Elmbank Gardens complex, which sadly is likely to be demolished in the coming years. It’s one of the few remaining commercial enterprises in the complex. It will surely go the way of Anderston. The food is excellent, the service impeccable and a do hope the owners and their team will find somewhere in the new complex. Recommended.

What an amazing place. I’ve seen the restaurant many times passing on the motorway but when we were planning a lunch visit somewhere near the Kings theatre and this came up I was very excited to try, and I certainly did not disappoint. The food was incredible with such generous portions. The wine was delightful. The staff were incredibly attentive and the service was always with a smile. The ambience was exceptional and the jazz band an added extra. Such talented guys who kept us entertained throughout our meal. The prices were excellent also. Can’t wait to return.

The food was nice, but the service was dreadful. We booked in advance, advising that a member of our party was gluten-free, and there were options shown on the online menus. However, when we got there, there were no gluten-free options, not even bread.

Booked pretheatre dinner. Arrived early( nice and quiet) . Taken to our seats and the waiter never returned!!! Fortunately we had left plenty of time so patiently waited for 15 minutes. In the end had to go up and ask for a menu!! After that service was efficient the food was nice. My daughter did not enjoy the hummus starter almost taste less. Our smoked salmon on half a bagel was very nice. The haddock was very tasty but 10 chips hiding under the fish does not seem tome to be a portion! Might try again sometime but service let it down .

Great place to visit for food and a drink before a show at the King's. Easily accessible, Charing Cross railway station is literally a stone throw away. Went to Baby Grand for pre theatre before heading to The Kings Theatre. It was so good I didn't want to leave. Great atmosphere.,Food was excellent and it happened to be a Wednesday night when they are doing a menu, pricing from 1984 in celebration of 40 years in business. Couldn't believe the wonderful food that was coming out. We all had different food choices. We had, Italian sausage and puy lentils, chicken Provençal and Steak and chips with pepper sauce.we then had spiced plums with biscotti and whipped cream and sticky toffee pudding. All absolutely divine. Heading back on Sunday for the Sunday roast. What a great place. Easy parking also. Try it you won't be disappointed

Pre theatre did not disappoint , we opted for the 1984 menu ,(only on a Wednesday)a celebration of BG 40 year anniversary .All the golden oldies on it with golden oldie prices , my chicken Provençal was £4.50 and cooked to perfection . Amazing service , atmosphere and of course some tunes being played in the old piano . Go visit !!! Maxine

Had a great time on a Wednesday night with their 1984 menu at 1984 prices! Live piano music in the background was wonderful. (They switched to recorded music later in the night) I forgot to take a photo of the generously sized & yummy sticky toffee pudding. The coffee was smooth and everything was delicious. There’s a wide selection of alcoholic drinks (not pictured) & their regular menu looks great too! One minute walk from Charing Cross Station.

Never even made it as far as ordering. On entry there was a man sitting with a pint of lager at the bar, thought I was entering a pub from the 1960s, face hitting the floor looking everyone up and down, not at all what I expected. Single Market menu on the table when we were seated by the lovely but very busy server (Aiya seemed to be working on her own). To say he menu choice was sparse is an understatement (there is more choice during school dinners). Food might be excellent (might go back on a wet midweek night), but this most certainly isn't a Saturday night restaurant venue. Totally disjointed, doesn't seem to know whether it's a restaurant or a local boozer. Strange set up.

What can knew say about the baby grand. A place I've been meaning to visit for years. Looked online, there was a semblance of an Ala carte menu. Arrived at the venue, everything kosher, aija was pleasant, efficient and professional, given she had to guide is past the ever present gelsga growler nursing his one for the road 19.30hrs......hawd me back pint. Aija efficiently smseated us where we discovered a cheaper version of a 5 guys, misjointed menu. The only thing the apparent (bank willing) owner was interested in was the feeble attempt to relive his misconceived, nightclubbing youth. After drinking the bottle of tap water, the consensus was Baby grand is nowhere near a Saturday night dinner venue. Tuesday night maybe, or if you have an early evening deal for 7th heaven next door....bash on, but in a 40 cover "eaterie' with 1 ( very competent) server, probably not the place for a Saturday night.

Family of 4 attended the 'Back to 84' theme for a meal. The service was ok, a bit slow with getting our food and the meal itself was mediocre. We had a great afternoon catching up in Baby Grand, with fabulous food/wine and a few cocktails. We were offered a table at the back of the restaurant which had a beautiful view looking on to the Mitchell Library. We decided to select a few starters to share between us, my favourite was the Asian crispy cauliflower and the rotisserie chicken tenders, definitely something for everyone what a great selection of starters , for mains I had the home made dry aged Bronx burger, it was delicious, perfectly cooked and a really high standard of meat and great value too. My companion had the schnitzel, again plenty of food on the plate, the schnitzel was delicious as was the Russian potato salad, a great combination. A great selection of wine to choose from and some lovely cocktails made by the friendly bar hand . All in all a fabulous lunch was had by all, will be returning soon .

We arrived at Baby Grand around 8pm and parked opposite Charing Cross station. What struck all of us was the change in the landscape with multiple demolitions and reconstructions taking place in the vicinity of the restaurant. Not to be daunted we made our way to the Baby Grand and were greeted by a guy called Jackson,he escorted us to our a table for 4 in the top section and we were given food menus and offered drinks. The guys decided to have Noam bottled Bavarian larger ,new to me but a could recommendation from Jackson. The girls both had strawberry daiquiris which were apparently excellent. For our food order we opted to start by sharing the Shetland mussels, sticky honey chicken wings and some Asian cauliflower All came within 15 minutes and were excellent. For mains we had 2 ribeye steaks(medium rare) with peppercorn and chimichuri sauces. They had a special home made marrow burger on which we opted for along with a merguez and cod Roast. All the mains were delicious along with the sides we opted for. During the meal there was a pianist/Singer who was great but i am sure he’s been there for a thousand years. During the meal we scoffed a bottle of Chilean Chardonnay which was lovely. Great evening i will not leave my next visit for such a longtime.

surprised to see some of the negative reviews. My friend and I went here yesterday for lunch. I used to eat a lot in Glasgow but have reduced mobility so this restuarant was ideal being right outside the station. Booked for 3rd Jan - Pre Theatre before Kings Theatre Panto. Staff were uninterested on arrival and throughout. This was a treat for my hard-working student daughter (who also serves p/time in Glasgow restaurant) Mussels off menu ( a blessing!!), so ordered salmon starter - believe I was served remains from back of fridge from early December - uugghh. Waitress plonked two plates in front of us and walked away - not our mains, but adjacent table’s order- but to be fair to server, she was stylish and consistent with her disdain towards all. Once the logistics of serving 8 tables was sorted, I was (40 minutes after arrival) served my “rib-eye” steak (£6 supplement). I attempted to slice and chew whilst my gut screamed “don’t swallow” so going with my gut I didn’t eat. Returned and manager who actually spoke to me, agreed it was off. I can honestly state this was the worst experience ever in a Glasgow restaurant. Staff awful and food worse. The first time in 30 years eating out, I didn’t leave tip for staff.

I have been here twice with my family, for lunch and for dinner and both on a weekend. The atmosphere is great and the food is amazing. The service is always spot on and there was no issues with having a few pieces of luggage and a pram / baby with us. Would recommend making a reservation, as it can get busy. Will definitely keep coming back!

Excellent staff, great value, recommend to everyone, food is always a cut above, I think they could charge more, for the quality on offer.
