Great city centre pub great atmosphere reasonable prices for its location. Staff always attentive and quick to serve

In my Humble opinion the best Whisky Bar in Glasgow. It is always a pleasure to visit. The Beer and Whisky range is wonderful and the food as well. Been here multiple times, during every stay in Glasgow in the Last 8 years and Always enjoyed it.

Always bustling, great staff, amazing choice of whiskies and the Scottish tapas is delicious, if you're unsure of trying black pudding or haggis it's a good way to see if you like them!

This is a brilliant place to go for food and drinks. Friendly staff great food.

Wanted to find somewhere that did vegetarian haggis, decided to visit Pipers as they offered it on their lunch menu and I am so glad I did. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, insisted on taking our orders at the table, gave us recommendations on places to visit and were all around lovely. The vegetarian haggis was everything I hoped for and more, sadly couldn't go back to have a second portion as it is a monday-friday thing only, I'll be thinking about that meal for the rest of my life it was genuinely cracking. Will 100% come back one day! Thanks guys

Good atmosphere and friendly people.

Great bar. Barmen were all attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Tapas was top notch, pleasantly surprised by the haggis tapas. Nachos were nice to share. Huge whiskey selection, server gave a nice run down while serving. Can be a bit loud for conversation when sitting directly in front of live music.

Popped in for a drink on a Friday afternoon. Very busy but no atmosphere. Quite old fashioned type pub, I've heard it's very popular later in the day

Great pub in George Square. Was there on two days in the early afternoon. Delicious fish and chips, just as you would imagine. Large selection of beers and whiskeys. Super nice staff. Good value for money. Was fun. Any time.

As a whisky lover this is a great bar in Glasgow. The pub is fab and the upstairs whisky is perfect to relax and enjoy a few drams. Recommend it highly.

First visit to Glasgow ( overseas visitors) and we popped in here for an early dinner. We didn't have a booking, but we were made very welcome by the staff. We enjoyed a delicious meal and a couple of drinks. All very yum! Food, ambiance, staff and prices all very reasonable - very recommended!

Excellent quality cuisine and service as usual. We were lucky enough this time to catch an excellent live performance from singer/guitarist Declan Hegarty and his acoustic set featuring his slant on tracks by Clapton, Petty, Skynyrd , Joel and Earle et al. Love this place, always visit when in Glasgow. Update: Visited again for an excellent evening meal (16.04.24). I had the Stornoway black pudding spring rolls followed by Chicken Balmoral, whilst "The Enemy" had a lovely big fish and chips, both excellent dishes. Great, relaxing and chilled evening spent by the log burner listening to Declan Hegarty for over 2 hours again. We thought his rendition of "Hotel California" was absolutely fantastic.

Good pub at the corner of Cochrane Street facing George Square in Glasgow City Centre. There is a main bar area as you go in the front door, however we chose to go upstairs to what looks like a whisky lounge with great views out onto the square and comfy chairs if you get a table at the windows. There is a great selection of drinks to try, particularly the whisky selection. Staff were very friendly and the lounge was quite cosy although it was very quiet when we visited. A good pub to check out if you are in the City Centre.

New year eve was amazing, best ever. Colin and the team were fantastic. It was safe, cheap for New Year's Eve, efficient, cleans and not to mention frank in the toilets with some excellent after shaved. We met some lovely new friends.

After not visiting the piper in a long time, we were genuinely impressed by the pub's exceptional quality. The food offered both superb quality and value, especially considering the pubs location. The drink selection was extensive, and efficient service was ensured by the ample bar staff. The atmosphere was enhanced by a talented singer-guitarist performing an excellent set. We rated the service only four stars due to one barmaid's less-than-professional demeanor; however, all other staff members provided outstanding service. Overall, it was an excellent establishment.

We came here in the evening. It wasn’t crowded at first, but the number of people started to increase later. As tourists, we wanted to try something different, so we got three different whiskies. The only challenge was communication—it would have been nicer if they spoke a bit slower.

Had a lovely Christmas Lunch here, the staff were very friendly both in the planning and on the day itself. Their care and attention to a colleagues dietary/allergy requirements was particularly appreciated 👏

Was there when there was live music going on. It added to the atmosphere. The bartenders were great, they showed humor and intrigue in our orders and were great all around!

I’m fuming, we arrive with our disabled son who is 32 and security will not let us In, having been numerous times before, doesn’t even drink, so spoils our night in a bar we’ve been many times before

I booked a table for 4 people on 30th November over 6 weeks in advance for lunch and paid a deposit only to be told we had booked for a whisky tasting??? Absolout rubbish!!! They had overbooked our table. We waited over 2 hours to be fobbed off with every excuse only to walk out starving and raging at our day being ruined and their total disgusting customer service.

What a lovely pub! I never ate here but the food looked nice. Massive range of whiskies and plenty more besides. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about the different whiskies. Would very happily visit again!

Great choice of whisky worth a visit

Muito bem localizado, o bar é excelente - parece ser frequentado pelos locais (casais, famílias). A comida é muito boa, assim como boa é a cerveja "stout" (escocesa) e grande é a variedade de uísques. Fui muito bem atendido.

Great range of beers and amazing staff. My only issue was my tapas pie sitting on top of the beans which made the pub too soggy. Whisky lovers will love this pub. The upstairs lounge is the place for a quiet dram.

Efficient staff, warm and cosy restaurant and bar. The scottish tapas is really very tasty and of very high quality. The whisky bar upstairs has a great view of George Square and is warm and comfortable. Massive selection of whiskies and other drinks. A must visit but book a table at weekends.

Had the steak pie and veg best food I've had in the uk. Not to mention the service was above and beyond. Great team of people.

No era bienvenido. . había ido a almorzar y fue a este bar después a tomar una copa, con un grupo de amigos, acabando de completar la Gran Carrera Escocesa. . mi amigo movió una pequeña mesa para que pudiéramos sentarnos todos juntos y un miembro del personal del bar se acercó, instruyendo a mi amigo para que no moviera la mesa (por lo que se disculpó) , claramente no quería que nos quedáramos a beber, pidiendo identificación a una de las chicas más jóvenes - que no estaba bebiendo, y su comportamiento general fue grosero y desagradable. Nos fuimos, no les daría nuestro dinero tbh y nunca volveremos. . hemos visto de otras críticas que esto puede ser típico. No sé cuál era su problema, no estábamos borrachos, no éramos groseros, la mayoría de nosotros acababa de completar una carrera benéfica - tal vez nuestro equipo de atletismo era ofensivo.

We walked by a few nights prior and decided to come back. Very glad we did! Super chill atmosphere, an amazing selection of whiskies, great food, and great service. We got the steak and ale pie, the lasagne, and we shared the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I can see why they've won awards!

This. Place. Is. Awesome. I’m an avid beer and whisky fan, and this place has it all, tucked away on the corner of George Square. While Saturdays are a bit much for me, I get the appeal, and all week the live music and food are fantastic. From quiet pints with pals to whisky tastings and ragers, this is the place. The staff are fantastic, with them going above and beyond day in day out. All the bar staff ensure you get your drinks poured properly, your evening well spent, and a joke or two for good measure. Don’t miss out on this hidden treasure!

If you're looking for a pub with live music, you'll get your money's worth here and you'll love it. Atmospherically a really good shop with nice staff. However, if you just want to chat with friends, it might be a bit too loud. Otherwise a clear recommendation.

We went on a weekend, and the place was buzzing with live music and a crowd full of energy. It’s the kind of pub where you go to soak in the vibe, sing along, and have a great time.

How they're whisky bar of the year is a mystery to me. I asked for 3 different whiskies - none of them obscure - and they didn't have any of them. The guy serving me was also absolutely clueless about whisky. Then, when I finally got one that I wanted, it was served in a big tumbler glass - not a whisky glass. Add to that, that there was a DJ on playing music at a volume where you had to shout at the person next to you to be heard. Overall, as a whisky bar, it's poor. I'll stick with the Pot Still or Bon Accord.

Los tres estaban deliciosos. La ubicación está en Georgia Square. Estaba bastante ocupado, pero el servicio era bueno. Nuestro servidor era Collin. También compartimos una botella de vino. Tienen música en vivo cada noche. Esperamos volver esta noche y escuchar algo de música.

A great atmosphere and good service, very quick and polite. Good selection of food and really nice, recommend it.

From the first step in the door we felt welcomed with the happy buzzy atmosphere. The barman was happy to serve us and show us to a table. Our order was taken in a respectful time after viewing the menu. Meal - this was lovely and full of flavour. The portions are just right. Staff worked well together, smiled a lot and knew what customer service means. Just before leaving we were given information of an upcoming show of live music. Great place to have a meal . . . .

Cozy place and we ate tapas with Scottish dishes... Good and a nice way to taste several dishes. Nice staff... We returned once more and raise the whole to the highest rating. The food was great and we had a whiskey tasting which was delicious. Recommended. There was also a spontaneous performance with bagpipes, wow...

We had lunch here as part of a hop on hop off experience. This pub is superb! Reasonably priced, great service and a fabulous venue. Highly recommend the fish and chips. Delicious, perfectly cooked! I bought an apron there to remember the day!

Seemed like a fun pub to get some food and a drink. After an hour of waiting for food we were told that the order hadn’t been put through. Thankfully gave us the beer on the house but we left.

Very good Scottish food for reasonable prices. Not only for the whiskies. We were advised to go there to try the Scottish haggis. We would definitely come back next time we travel to Glasgow.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. We were kicked out of the piper because they accused my friend of being too drunk. He has a disability and we only had 1 drink in the pub. This is absolutely ridiculous. Will not be back

Amazing pub and does my heart proud as a Glaswegian to see so many international visitors enjoying its vibe. Staff are spot on, enjoy their work and couldn't be more helpful to their guests 👏 Whisky selection is superb! Yes there are others in the city with larger selections but this covers a huge area and group of Scotch distilleries. I use it mostly as a last watering hole before I go to my work (offshore, no booze!) and it gets me set up for the 2 weeks ahead.

Leighton at the second floor Whiskey bar walked me through three fantastic whiskey tasting based on my preferences. Not only was he extremely friendly and hospitable, but his knowledge was astounding. As an Aussie looking to learn a little bit more about whiskey before returning to my bottle-shop job back home, I could have asked for a better host. Cheers.

The staff belittled me. This is a gastro pub with no sign to say wait here to be seated. We walked in and took a seat. Unfortunately, we did not see a couple in front of us. We sat down. They pointed at us and said they were waiting, to which we got up. The waitress was then really rude and said to that couple who had been waiting, Let me take a look and see if there is a table....very sarcastically. It was a mistake, I felt terrible, but this made it worse. The communication from her was terrible. We apologised to the couple and they of course took the table. Ruined my lunch, as I felt awful and belittled. Very rude. The food was average, I didn't eat, but my friend did. I am sure this is a lovely pub and the other staff we amazing, it is warm and welcoming, we just caught the waitress at a bad time. It did ruin my experience.

Had the Steak and Ale Pie. Amazing, pastry lid the lightest ever, plenty of filling. Go try one.

Great place to meet up with friends. Has a good vibe and there's an excellent selection of food and drinks. Plenty of bar staff who know how to work, no delays at the bar while staff are chatting. Looking forward to many more nights there.

Had a meal on Saturday and it was lovely . The place was busy . The staff were brilliant couldn’t do enough for you . The atmosphere was good and the singer was brilliant. The DJ was good playing a lot off older music which we like . Will be back again

Nice little tourist bar, good selection of standard whiskey, a bar like the tourist imagines, with tasting sets for beginners.

Only popped in for a quick drink but received a warm welcome and good service from the barman and enjoyed the friendly buzz of the place.

I must have come during their busy time, we were there a half hour before we could order anything, even a drink. Anyway, what a lovely spot to be in, staff are friendly and the food was delicious. I loved the Scottish Tapas, the haggis tweeds were delicious, the whisky sauce is fantastic! The black pudding spring rolls were very different and a welcomed play on a classic, the spring roll exterior brings a great outer crunch. Mom loved the steak and ale pie. Great spot, worth the wait, get in there and give them a try!

Am Samstagnachmittag/-abend musste man sich echt um einen Sitzplatz bemühen, quirlige Atmosphäre. Klasse Live-Musik auch bei unserem zweiten Besuch. Tolle Stimmung, beide Male bei guter Live-Musik. Das Essen war ebenfalls sehr gut.

We went on a walking tour, and our guide recommended the Piper for Scottish style food. The food was fantastic and the portions very generous. We were lucky enough to have a musician playing (a Friday night), who was excellent and who got everyone singing along. The staff were lovely and so helpful. Such a lovely atmosphere.

I enjoy going to this pub as it has a nice atmosphere and the food is really good. Unfortunately on my last visit there were six members of staff behind the bar and I was the only customer needing to be served. It took ages for somebody to eventually look at and serve me. This soured my opinion but after that, the service was fine.
