Good pub,good prices,friendly staff

Went up to the upstairs whisky bar, good selection and prices are good.

Great range of beers and amazing staff. My only issue was my tapas pie sitting on top of the beans which made the pub too soggy. Whisky lovers will love this pub. The upstairs lounge is the place for a quiet dram.

Efficient staff, warm and cosy restaurant and bar. The scottish tapas is really very tasty and of very high quality. The whisky bar upstairs has a great view of George Square and is warm and comfortable. Massive selection of whiskies and other drinks. A must visit but book a table at weekends.

Extraordinary experience, great drinks, live music, lovely people

Had the steak pie and veg best food I've had in the uk. Not to mention the service was above and beyond. Great team of people.

Not welcoming.. had went for lunch and went to this bar afterwards for a drink, with a group of friends, having just completed the Great Scottish Run.. my friend moved a small table so we could all sit together & a member of the bar staff came over, instructing my friend not to move the table (for which she apologised), he clearly didn’t want us to remain for drink, asking for ID from one of the younger girls - who wasn’t drinking, and his general demeanour was rude and unwelcoming. We left, wouldn’t give them our money tbh and will never be back.. have saw from other reviews that this can be typical. Don’t know what his problem was, we weren’t drunk, weren’t rude, most of us had just completed a charity run- maybe our running gear was offensive. shame on you!

We walked by a few nights prior and decided to come back. Very glad we did! Super chill atmosphere, an amazing selection of whiskies, great food, and great service. We got the steak and ale pie, the lasagne, and we shared the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I can see why they've won awards!

This. Place. Is. Awesome. I’m an avid beer and whisky fan, and this place has it all, tucked away on the corner of George Square. While Saturdays are a bit much for me, I get the appeal, and all week the live music and food are fantastic. From quiet pints with pals to whisky tastings and ragers, this is the place. The staff are fantastic, with them going above and beyond day in day out. All the bar staff ensure you get your drinks poured properly, your evening well spent, and a joke or two for good measure. Don’t miss out on this hidden treasure!

If you're looking for a pub with live music, you'll get your money's worth here and you'll love it. Atmospherically a really good shop with nice staff. However, if you just want to chat with friends, it might be a bit too loud. Otherwise a clear recommendation.

The Piper’s Room at George Square in Glasgow is a fantastic spot if you’re looking for an energetic and lively atmosphere. Centrally located, it’s easy to find and perfect for a night out. We went on a weekend, and the place was buzzing with live music and a crowd full of energy. It’s the kind of pub where you go to soak in the vibe, sing along, and have a great time.

How they're whisky bar of the year is a mystery to me. I asked for 3 different whiskies - none of them obscure - and they didn't have any of them. The guy serving me was also absolutely clueless about whisky. Then, when I finally got one that I wanted, it was served in a big tumbler glass - not a whisky glass. Add to that, that there was a DJ on playing music at a volume where you had to shout at the person next to you to be heard. Overall, as a whisky bar, it's poor. I'll stick with the Pot Still or Bon Accord.

The company at a very decent level, according to the staff, offers almost 500 types of whiskey. Food around €20 per person, the rest at your discretion :)

Bit of joke, 4 staff working made eye contact and no service. The lads behind the bar were to busy having a laugh about other customers...not a good vibe

I went here for dinner yesterday and I had a lovely first dinner in Scotland. The guys were very friendly and the food was amazingly delicious!

Great pub, good food, great whiskey and beer and better service

My husband and I shared a bowl of soup and three tapas which we had the Scottish steak pie with mashed potatoes and a paste, tree puff, the fish and chips and the macaroni and cheese. All three were delicious. The location is at Georgia Square. It was quite busy, but the service was good. Our server was Collin. We also shared a bottle of wine. They have live music every evening. We hope to come back tonight and listen to some music.

A great atmosphere and good service, very quick and polite. Good selection of food and really nice, recommend it.

From the first step in the door we felt welcomed with the happy buzzy atmosphere. The barman was happy to serve us and show us to a table. Our order was taken in a respectful time after viewing the menu. Meal - this was lovely and full of flavour. The portions are just right. Staff worked well together, smiled a lot and knew what customer service means. Just before leaving we were given information of an upcoming show of live music. Great place to have a meal . . . .

Cozy place and we ate tapas with Scottish dishes... Good and a nice way to taste several dishes. Nice staff... We returned once more and raise the whole to the highest rating. The food was great and we had a whiskey tasting which was delicious. Recommended. There was also a spontaneous performance with bagpipes, wow...

We had lunch here as part of a hop on hop off experience. This pub is superb! Reasonably priced, great service and a fabulous venue. Highly recommend the fish and chips. Delicious, perfectly cooked! I bought an apron there to remember the day!

Nice Pub with amazing Whisky selection

Went in on a busy sat afternoon the brilliant scarlett hart ❤️ was on place was rocking but service was still first class

Seemed like a fun pub to get some food and a drink. After an hour of waiting for food we were told that the order hadn’t been put through. Thankfully gave us the beer on the house but we left.

Very good Scottish food for reasonable prices. Not only for the whiskies. We were advised to go there to try the Scottish haggis. We would definitely come back next time we travel to Glasgow.

the bar staff accused my friend with a speech impediment of being too drunk and cut us all off. he had only had 1 drink. completely ableist and disgusting

If I could leave 0 stars I would. We were kicked out of the piper because they accused my friend of being too drunk. He has a disability and we only had 1 drink in the pub. This is absolutely ridiculous. Will not be back

Amazing pub and does my heart proud as a Glaswegian to see so many international visitors enjoying its vibe. Staff are spot on, enjoy their work and couldn't be more helpful to their guests 👏 Whisky selection is superb! Yes there are others in the city with larger selections but this covers a huge area and group of Scotch distilleries. I use it mostly as a last watering hole before I go to my work (offshore, no booze!) and it gets me set up for the 2 weeks ahead.

Leighton at the second floor Whiskey bar walked me through three fantastic whiskey tasting based on my preferences. Not only was he extremely friendly and hospitable, but his knowledge was astounding. As an Aussie looking to learn a little bit more about whiskey before returning to my bottle-shop job back home, I could have asked for a better host. Cheers.

The staff belittled me. This is a gastro pub with no sign to say wait here to be seated. We walked in and took a seat. Unfortunately, we did not see a couple in front of us. We sat down. They pointed at us and said they were waiting, to which we got up. The waitress was then really rude and said to that couple who had been waiting, Let me take a look and see if there is a table....very sarcastically. It was a mistake, I felt terrible, but this made it worse. The communication from her was terrible. We apologised to the couple and they of course took the table. Ruined my lunch, as I felt awful and belittled. Very rude. The food was average, I didn't eat, but my friend did. I am sure this is a lovely pub and the other staff we amazing, it is warm and welcoming, we just caught the waitress at a bad time. It did ruin my experience.

Great place to meet up with friends. Has a good vibe and there's an excellent selection of food and drinks. Plenty of bar staff who know how to work, no delays at the bar while staff are chatting. Looking forward to many more nights there.

Had the Steak and Ale Pie. Amazing, pastry lid the lightest ever, plenty of filling. Go try one.

Had a meal on Saturday and it was lovely . The place was busy . The staff were brilliant couldn’t do enough for you . The atmosphere was good and the singer was brilliant. The DJ was good playing a lot off older music which we like . Will be back again

Nice little tourist bar, good selection of standard whiskey, a bar like the tourist imagines, with tasting sets for beginners.

Only popped in for a quick drink but received a warm welcome and good service from the barman and enjoyed the friendly buzz of the place.

Am Samstagnachmittag/-abend musste man sich echt um einen Sitzplatz bemühen, quirlige Atmosphäre. Klasse Live-Musik auch bei unserem zweiten Besuch. Tolle Stimmung, beide Male bei guter Live-Musik. Das Essen war ebenfalls sehr gut.

I must have come during their busy time, we were there a half hour before we could order anything, even a drink. Anyway, what a lovely spot to be in, staff are friendly and the food was delicious. I loved the Scottish Tapas, the haggis tweeds were delicious, the whisky sauce is fantastic! The black pudding spring rolls were very different and a welcomed play on a classic, the spring roll exterior brings a great outer crunch. Mom loved the steak and ale pie. Great spot, worth the wait, get in there and give them a try!

Lovely pub but bought 2 rounds exact same drinks 1st round £9.50, 2nd round £10.15 . 2 different people serving, a hike of 75p more for same drinks. Think the bar people need to learn the exact prices

We went on a walking tour, and our guide recommended the Piper for Scottish style food. The food was fantastic and the portions very generous. We were lucky enough to have a musician playing (a Friday night), who was excellent and who got everyone singing along. The staff were lovely and so helpful. Such a lovely atmosphere.

I enjoy going to this pub as it has a nice atmosphere and the food is really good. Unfortunately on my last visit there were six members of staff behind the bar and I was the only customer needing to be served. It took ages for somebody to eventually look at and serve me. This soured my opinion but after that, the service was fine.

This is a popular pub in downtown Glasgow. They had a DJ playing 70s & 80s popular music the evening we visited.

Excellent quality cuisine and service as usual. We were lucky enough this time to catch an excellent live performance from singer/guitarist Declan Hegarty and his acoustic set featuring his slant on tracks by Clapton, Petty, Skynyrd , Joel and Earle et al. Love this place, always visit when in Glasgow. Update: Visited again for an excellent evening meal (16.04.24). I had the Stornoway black pudding spring rolls followed by Chicken Balmoral, whilst "The Enemy" had a lovely big fish and chips, both excellent dishes. Great, relaxing and chilled evening spent by the log burner listening to Declan Hegarty for over 2 hours again. We thought his rendition of "Hotel California" was absolutely fantastic.

The team was very welcoming and caring The dishes were excellent (haggis, steak and ale pie, fish and chips) All this in a Scottish atmosphere. Everything was perfect. To test !

Laughable service. I understand you want to close your pub at 22:40, when you're supposed to be open until 00:00, but you don't come to people and say "I'll ask you to head towards the exit" without any notice and there's people half way through their pints. We weren't that drunk, and I can't help but think there was a hint of prejudice there :) The lady at the bar was super friendly, the live music was good, we were quite happy until the young guy came by with his rude approach. This is the only thing that ruined the experience of coming back to Glasgow 10 years after we lived here. I'd never come back. Learn to be polite, like the overwhelming majority of the Scots.

We travel from the UAE 🇦🇪 just to have a drink at this pub !! The whole team is very friendly... The fish and chips !!! I can't say how much I recommend the great spot !!! The piper pub is the best in glasgow.

I have been to The Pipers many times with no complaints. However my last visit will be my Last!Took my daughter for night out in Glasgow before she moves to Australia. Went to Pipers and had a couple of drinks while we were socialising with other customers. Had a few dances as musician was brilliant.My daughter went to bar for more drinks and was refused anymore drinks for myself....This was going to be my 4th drink of the evening.!!!Totally spoiled our night and will never return.As a business owner myself used to highly recommend Pipers to everyone.Not Now.

Popped in here for a whisky toaster. Were 3 prices to chose from, went for the middle one. You got 3 drams of each one and a sheet with info on each one. Staff were friendly and helpful. We're went on a Thursday and not until nearly 10 so we missed most of the live singer and last orders were 10. So get in earlier mid week I would say.

The food was out of this world. Staff are friendly and attentive and there's a nice relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Over Zealous door staff would not admit me or my family as he said my daughter’s passport had expired. It still has her picture and date of birth…you cannot teach stupid…

Only in Glasgow for overnight stay and came across this bar just off George Square. Cameron was the man behind the bar who greeted us with a warm friendly welcome and showed us to our table where we enjoyed a tasty supper.

So went here last night was having a lovely time so we went to the bar to get another round in and I was given the wrong mixer so I took it back up to the bar and asked to change it to a can off ginger beer when the bar staff gave me the cash machine to get tap to pay and I was like am not paying when I had already paid for the wrong one they gave me so I said again I wasn’t going to pay so I walked away not thinking anything more about it till my husband went to get another round off drinks in when he was told that he was not to be served or myself or anybody in our company so we got told to leave which I think is terrible as it wasn’t my fault they gave me the wrong mixer so be careful when your order drink cause if they get it wrong then they don’t change it they just charge you again so needles to say we will not be drinking in there again staff are just horrible

I was on my own in Glasgow & whilst I’d been in the Piper with family/friends previously I hadn’t gone in on my own. The staff were friendly & so lovely & made me feel very welcome. Will definitely go back

This whiskey bar is wonderful , great bar food and the friendliest staff. Warning they are serous about their burgers. They are huge and delicious! They make you feel like it’s your neighborhood bar. The live music is great too.
