Horseshoe Bar Glasgow in Glasgow City

My experience in the horseshoe was really good the food was amazing n Janet upstairs was really good her cocktails were first class n her personality was really easy to take to n I’ll make a point of visiting again loved it

Cant believe how much its changed the menu isn't great. Why did they get rid of the steak pie that was in my opinion world class. Bring back the steak pie in its original state. That would make me come back.

I would a no frills pub in great location filled with outdated archaic memorabilia such as portraits of Queen Victoria, toilets need upgraded.

My sort of pub for a pint of Best Belhaven. There was a group of fellas with some ker-razy colourful shirts who were obviously out having a right good laugh! Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

Great karaoke at the Horseshoe, brilliant night every time, great people and staff

Stopped in for a pint and some football. Lived up to its reputation. Very large after work crowd that rolls into the Thursday night crowd. Prices very reasonable. Didn't have any food while we were there.

A traditional pub which serves decent beer. The price of a pint was reasonable too for a city centre location We visited on a midweek evening and enjoyed the ambience in the ground floor bar. I would happily visit here again.

Theres nae food and that doesnt matter. One of the all time greatest pubs. Great service from staff even when they are getting hammered from all sides. Never miss on a visit to Glasgow.

Brilliant in here...some of the singers unbelievable.... Always a good atmosphere too.

The staff couldn't wait to get food put despite telling them our full table had not yet arrived and they were hurrying to get food in again despite us not bring finished . Not worth £20 per table. Not the "tapas" we were expecting. Nachos chicken nuggets and dirty fries ! Entertainment great tho

An institution. One of the best undisturbed proper bars in the UK. Unmissable.

Very popular place. Beautiful pub downstairs. Karaoke upstairs. You have incredibly talented people showing up, AND everyone in between, which makes it extra wonderful for everyone. Such good fun. The DJ WILL NOT let anyone talk before or after their song, I'm sure there's good reason for that... but it definitely cramped our style a bit. Otherwise, it was a party!

Good selection of draft beers. Great quality food and table service. Very friendly and well trained staff. Great experience for a visitor to Glasgow.

Definitely one of the pubs in glasgow. Met some nice people here that showed me around and took me on a pub crawl. Was very hung over the next day which is not the fault of this pub, but its where it started so i blame them, anyways. Nice place tho 👍

We were here for karaoke and it was really nice, the DJ was cool, there were cool folks and a great atmosphere. Also a great variety of beers and drinks so there's something for everybody.

Service did not go as quickly that day due to understaffing. The lady had a heavy Scottish accent but that makes the atmosphere better. The food was very tasty and cheap if you took the afternoon deal!

I've been visiting the horseshoe bar for over 30 plus years. Great place for a pint and hot pie. Central and had many great nights at the longest bar in Europe. The service is very good, bar staff attentive and friendly. It's worth a visit any day of the week.

Great old pub, very busy but music too loud.

Visited this pub recently on way back from the Open at Troon. Good service until we dared to ask if food was available. Made the mistake of asking more than once. Got a real vile response from the barmaid. No idea what we did wrong but what a piece of work the server was. Been here dozens of times over many years. Won't be back!

Place is notorious for dodgy door staff.

the bartender jack was absolutely fabulous, with speedy service and some great cocktails for me and my partner. would come back, especially for jack’s service.

Authentic island pub, with a touch of tradition. It gives what you expect in a place like this, without many pretensions.

Came for a pint and watch the euros. Stood by the door. Plenty of TVs.

Pup with the longest bar in town

To get by, it's fine. You have a promotion of 2 courses for 11 pounds (without drinks). Hard to beat in the area. It is a traditional Scottish Pub.

Good old Glasgow pub. Worth a visit!

A very good bar in a central location. It is located near Glasgow Central train station. Can get very busy, but this is a testament to this Glasgow institution. Good for groups and solo visitors. If you like a chat, this place can be very engaging, I enjoyed a conversation with people from Norway and Germany. Staff are friendly, and the beer on tap is chilled to perfection.

We didn't have food, just popped in for a soft drink, a fabulous bar, and so full of character.

As someone who enjoys a good venue with a good atmosphere I was blonde away at how a bartender can add to this. The boy cammy I think his name was really enhanced our night and was an. Absolute pleasure. as arnoal says IL BE BACK

Great bar in Glasgow. I was lucky enough to visit while the old firm derby was on. Reasonably priced beers and good craic worth the locals. Overall, a good pub to visit if you're in Glasgow.

Lovely pub good selection of beers great atmosphere

We ordered the bangers and mash and the fish and chips and they were delicious! The food came out within a resealable time and the waitress / bartender was so friendly and offered tips for exploration around the city. We ate lunch here and there happened to be a lunch special from noon - 4 and they were some of the best prices of our entire vacation: 2 meals, a side of onion rings, and 1 coke wasn’t even £20. What a deal! I’d eat here again if I make it back to Glasgow!

Great pub grub - chicken ham and cheese pie was spot on, good chat from the bar staff - particularly a young man called Danny, great place to watch the football as well

We both returned our Pale Ales stating that they were totally flat.. at no point did they come back to us to offer to replace them, and even when I alert someone who appears to be a manager, they announce that he will solve the problem. But still nothing.. so I ask the waitress to serve us two Lagers again so as not to take the risk of being disappointed again, and she asks me to pay again, claiming that there was no problem with the two first ones.. which were disgusting and flat!! We tried several other pubs which were great, but this one cost us time and money.. avoid.

Booked 2 months in advance , paid £100 deposit and the doorman wouldn’t let us in as they couldn't find the booking. Even though I had a payment receipt. No negotiation and it was a special birthday. Shocking !

Nice old fashioned pub/,bar . Drinks fine we were just there a short while. Was busy. Would return.

Had a pint downstairs, spoke to the door security about going upstairs. He said, "Yeah, no problem." We finished our drinks and went to the second entrance, only to be asked, "Where have you been tonight, lads?" They knocked us back after we told them we had just been in the lounge.

Bouncer !!! Well what an arrogant man ! When getting questioned as to why you are going upstairs to a toilet ! What do u do in a toilet ? Would just like to know as me and friends are in our 40s and if I wanted to be to be treated like we were still at school then we would go back ! Twice he done it do us on entering building and leaving after having food and drinks. There is no toilets down stairs so what you want us to do ? Pee ourselves ! Said why the three of yous well we were leaving so you always do one before leaving. He thought himself something and was on a power trip can say won’t be back due to him !!!!

Traditional Glasgow bar warm and friendly place karaoke upstairs

I was looking for a Belhaven bar but as they were rubbish at promoting their brand I looked for the nearest recommended bar which is where the Horseshoe came to the fore. First off, they serve Belhaven Best so that's a win. Food wise, standard pub menu however mixed grill was all cooked well so all good. Beer, I tried various and all were good. Monday night so not busy but pleasant, efficient and interested staff which makes all the difference
