First visit to DINE Craiglockhart but it won’t be the last.
Service was warm, welcoming and attentive throughout.
Food and drinks were faultless! Water served routinely and prompt drinks served with a smile.
Bread and olives…….Starters of Ham Hock; soups of the day. Mains of Angus Sirloin; Angus Ribeye; Braised ox cheek. The kids got stuck into the excellent junior menu. Desserts were also noteworthy. Creme Brulee and artisan ice creams all round. Faultless.
Everything cooked to perfection.
On the drinks front - great wine and cocktail selection. We enjoyed well shaken aperitifs and an excellent bottle of superior quality Prosecco…. an equally superior Valpolicella followed with the steaks. Finished with brandies, Baileys (in chilled glass - the minor details matter) and then coffees. Incredible.
The decor and ambience creates a warm, inviting setting for the food that follows.
If you’ve not been before, we can’t recommend this gem highly enough and hope the locality continues to support the restaurant. Almost worth moving to the area with this on your doorstep !
All at DINE Craiglockhart must be very proud of what’s being delivered here.
Neighbourhood dining at its finest…..
Instagram photos don’t always tell the truth. While service and wine were very good, the food was a big disappointment. Look very pretty on the plate (for instagram) but none of the dishes were memorable or flavourful.
Super little cafe, welcoming and well run. Dog friendly. Menu is limited however, if they're not too busy, other options are available on request such as full English breakfast. No obvious vegan options, other than toast. Oat milk available and gluten free bread. Freshly cooked food and really nice coffee. Full of locals, which is always a good sign!
We loved this place, from the personalised menu, the amazing food and service and great experience of being able to watch all the dishes being made. It was such a unique night!
A great find! Lovely atmosphere, very smart, small enough to be cosy, subtle but very attentive service and delicious pizza. Would highly recommend.
Are these the smartest ladies and gentlemen’s in town?!!
Go there and judge for yourself!
Lovely little cafe, with friendly and helpful staff and a great selection of food. It was a perfect place to meet friends from Rome and the Netherlands. Our group ordered a wide variety of choices from the menu including the soup, Scottish breakfast, scrambled eggs and salmon, smoothies, waffles, carrot cake and tea - all delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the owl cushions very comfy. You could miss it walking by, but well worth searching it out and popping in. It extends a way back - a bit of a tardis for seating.

What a great vibe.. perfect pairings with great taste. The ambience is lovely and sitting at the kitchen bar is so much fun.. they change their tacos every week so be there to taste.. great service so friendly and they make it very enjoyable. The flavor of the food is super good and the sauces are to die for.. you can just buy them also.. lovely music to get you in that vibe. Go as a group of friends or on a date or with family.. its lovely.. well worth it
Imagine the horror of staring out of the window of a soulless Seattle coffee template of a location while underpaid staff stress behind you only to see a charismatic indie across the road.
So, if you fancy a coffee and are on Leith Walk then cross over and go to Tepuy instead.
You'll find a welcoming and popular choice nook.
The Columbian coffee is simply fantastic. It makes you regret those other coffee choices made previously. Well, some of them, let's not be too dramatic.
Let's be practical instead and point out you can eat in or get the coffee to go. I did on my first trip and had finished the whole recyclable cup after only one block.
I also picked up a lovely slice of Victoria sponge. That was fresh and decadent in all the good ways
Food is something the website doesn't make here. You can come here to buy coffee to grind. You can also come for a sit down, coffee to drink and a cake.
[July 2023 - I visit as often as I can, generally around once a week. I've not seen food on sale in months. The good news is the coffee is great and this ethical independent now lets you pick from a range of Columbian beans thanks to their single shot grinder.]
[October 2023 - They've a loyalty card that gives you a free coffee fairly quickly. Worth asking for one!]
[March 2024 - really good for people who care about their coffee]
[November 2024 - have been stocking biscuits recently, Ideal for a snack with a coffee]
[February 2025 - still 5 star, I come almost every week and therefore do well on their loyalty card!]
We had early breakfast in this small deli with our family of 5. Menu and the whole experience were something out of the ordinary. Everything was made to order and really good, for example the wonderful toasted strawberry and brie filled croissant. We enjoyed also the thoughtful service as we ordered even something outside of the menu. Prices reasonable.
What a lovely wee find of a cafe to have a cuppa and you missy have one of there lovely cakes .. Just what we needed on a cold Sunday afternoon . Thanku ++++
Stopped off whilst on an evening visit to South Queensferry. Loads of ice cream flavours to choose from despite some being sold out from earlier in the day. Gentleman who was serving was very professional and thanked us for stopping by as we were leaving.
We ate here for my wife's birthday, oh what a fantastic choice. It is BYOB which is a nice change , the food was absolutely fantastic. The owner is so nice and helpful . He has as well as the restaurant a selection of deli products on sale for you to take away and try to replicate the dishes on the menu, a must in my view.
