Support the only independent coffee shop on Princess Street and get value and quality.A little stall for coffee, hot chocolate or pastries. Very friendly staff and barista who knows how to make a good coffee. Intend to re-visit for brunch next time I'm in Edinburgh.

I love coming to A Pinch of Salt, Emily is so friendly and always remembers my order which I LOVE! She even remembers my wee pup and gives her a biscuit :) The coffee is delicious and it’s just so nice to have a bit of Salt so local!

I am a huge fan of Salt in Morningside so when a pinch of salt opened outside my office building I was delighted. The coffee and cake selection is fab and the owners are super lovely to deal with. If you need a caffeine hit before a walk around the meadows, this is the place to go.

I had the pleasure of popping by Pinch of Salt today for a delicious coffee and exceptional service. Liv was so friendly and the sweet treats looked incredible too. I will be back!

Perfect little stall for coffee, hot choc or pastries - I especially appreciate the hot apple juice as an option when you don't fancy any of the normal options. Very friendly barista who kindly gave me another croissant on the house when the wind blew my first one into the street! Will be visiting here a lot on my lunchbreaks in the future.

Super little cafe, welcoming and well run. Dog friendly. Menu is limited however, if they're not too busy, other options are available on request such as full English breakfast. No obvious vegan options, other than toast. Oat milk available and gluten free bread. Freshly cooked food and really nice coffee. Full of locals, which is always a good sign!

Last year, mum and I found Max Bakes. Mum had haggis and black pudding and I had feta and spinach. I had never had haggis or black pudding (always put off by the ingredients 🤦‍♀️) I tried mums and vice versa...both were delicious! This year we planned to hunt Max Bakes down, worrying he may not be here this year, and much to our delight we found him in the exact same spot! (later we found out he is a permanent fixture not just for The Fringe) We order two haggis and black pudding rolls and they were as good as we remembered! Two very happy travellers 😁

Unpretentious, friendly, homemade, affordable. Not easy to find cafe's like this so close to the city centre.

Have drank, ate and laughed here many times! Great bar with amazing staff and friendly banter. They show all the big sports, have karaoke and quizzes! Great shots menu so grab your friends for shots and shenanigans
