The best restaurants in Angus Central Scotland

I chose the Chicken Fajitas which was essentially a huge plate of carrots and potatoes served as a filler to make up for the lack of meat.. Ridiculous prices for such a stingy portion of meat. There was litterally 3 tiny strips of meat drowned in a plate of sauce and peppers. I also think its also really cheeky to charge you an extra £6 for your dips and cheese which should be included for the price. It was the strangest concoction of food and the worst Fajittas I've ever had in my life. The only reason I'm giving you 1 star is because my eyesight will be 20/20 and ill be able to see in the dark after the mountain of carrots I just consumed.

As the season narrows, it’s appropriate to say thank you before they have their very well deserved break in January & February. I have been a regular in the restaurant all summer and can’t recommend higher than 5 stars, or I would. Margaret and her team offer the warmest of welcomes, the most special part of that is the authenticity behind it. She has picked the most customer centric team who greet you with a smile, serve fantastic food and represent the castle to the highest possible standard. Thank you and I look forward to next year. My fish was well over cooked, very disappointed

Ordered a Hawaiian burger advertised with pineapple and mayo. What arrived was a dry unappetising burger with a cheap small square of cheese (which wasn’t mentioned) below and two or three small pieces of pineapple under the cheese. No sign of any mayo. Disgraceful…..

Terrible. This service was an awful experience. Firstly the menu is unclear and the server was not any help to clear it up. Secondly the food was delivered cold and greasy/oily and the portions were not equal. We were over charged for our food which we tried to talk to the server about but he brushed it off rudely like it was irrelevant. To finish the experience off the delivery driver did not have any change which was not acceptable and was not very pleasant to talk to. This experience was not acceptable as they should be professionals and take responsibility for their mistakes and actions. I will not be returning and I do not recommended going here. Definitely not worth the money. Disgraceful.

Best bar staff and friendliest pub in Kirrie...and very clean....I went in on my own, not something I'm comfortable doing, but the bar staff made me feel very welcome and included.

Visited with family as they had been recommended by friends. Huge menu and staff were very friendly and polite. Food was exceptional and all at a very good price. Great experience and would definitely recommend a visit.

I visited today for Easter Sunday with my other half. We were absolutely Hank Marvin, so went for the peel farm breakfast, it was lovely. Although my partner asked for an extra item and it wasn’t delivered. It was quite cold, they had a massive log fire which wasn’t on, it would have been nice if it was. It seemed that the English lady was the only one really doing the work, she was very friendly and helpful. A charm in a small place! We had a wander around outside, met the friendly goat- I think he fancied my partner as he started screaming when we walked away - what a cutie! A lovely place and will be back soon, but it needs some heat as was quite chilly this morning!

We turned up at the restaurant without booking a table and we kindly asked for a table for 4 (2 adults and 2 young kids). We got such a dirty look from a member of staff and he clearly huffed to check if there was any availability, the place had a lot of tables. We walked straight out as we felt so unwelcome we had to leave. We will never enter this restaurant again.

Not that great. Chips were terrible and hardly any, old and all stuck to the box, doner burger wasn’t good either . Overall just not great

Absolutely amazing, staff all welcoming and great atmosphere, food was a 10/10 and the best steak pie I have ever had the beef was falling apart and my family had the venison pie which they also said was the best, overall great experience and for the food I expected the price to be a lot more so very pleased with that too
