The best restaurants in Angus Central Scotland

went down today for a spot of lunch and some strawberry picking. we had a fantastic time at the farm! Inside the cafe looks lovely, they have a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. the menu was great with something for everyone, we liked how there was an option for a light bite or a more substational meal. I had the Brisket Panini special and my partner had the pulled pork burger, both were a perfect size and incredibly tasty. We were then offered desserts, we had an affogato and the strawberry pancake stack, both of which looked and tasted amazing! The service was top notch and every staff member was really informative and friendly, they made us feel very welcome during our time here. After lunch we went strawberry picking in the fields which was a great time and a really nice way to spend the day. we will definitely be back and would 100 percent reccomend anyone to try it out! ❤️

How this hotel has the ratings it has is beyond my understanding. Arrived to book in and met with a dark, damp smelling entrance. One light on in the bar area where a very unhappy employee was clearing up from previous staff (allegedly the managers!) shift. Advised that none of the hotel rooms had been prepared and she needed time to do so. We were unable to get food at the hotel as there was nothing. Info on site says meals available. Room was freezing cold, blinds failed, windows drafty, had to ask for towels for shower. Excuse for a bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced. The wooden frame squeaked even when moving the quilt!! We had booked for 3 nights which we cut short. Breakfast was an absolute joke, make your own tea and toast with out of date milk, and a jar of cheap jam. An experience not for repeating!

Piping hot fish n chips, very tasty, highly recommend.

Ordered here recently since my usual along the road hasn’t been so great the past few times. Ordered by phone and was delivered very quickly. It’s cash only and there’s no digital options for ordering. I had beef with green pepper and black bean sauce with chips and a side of salt and pepper chicken balls. Beef was alright but could have done with a bit more flavour and spice in my opinion. Chips were a bit overdone and had gone a bit dry. The chicken balls however were great. Would definitely give it another try and will update here.

First time ordered. Portions are huge. Delivery was super quick. Very tasty. Most definitely order again.

Amazing selection of pies and pastries in the shop - really delicious and great value for money. We had breakfast in the Pie Bob's cafe one morning too - excellent bacon baps (and prices!) Very highly recommend this shop & cafe - just wish there was one near us!

Ordered here a few times. Food is consistently good, i know what I'm in for when I order. Good selection on the menu, and usually pretty quick to deliver even at weekends.

A quaint restaurant. Cajun chicken burger was very flavorful. Tomato and red pepper soup was spicy (and I like a lot of spice). Order at the bar. Server was very nice. Car park is in the back. We missed it and parked at the beach, which was fine.

In a word dreadful, ordered a chicken Maryland , over cooked lump of chicken chips were hard , and two over battered sausages , I gave it to the seagulls , not the chicken Maryland I know and love very disappointing

Great place take grandkids in morning for breakfast before club starts only £1 says 9 opening but manager there preparing stuff earlier so always happy to help and saves us well before 9 keep up great work grandkids love it 😀

The food has never let me down but when I seen my other half just dig in the way she did I just knew it was love at first site the chops are amzing but the tawa for me is the one form the wings and there sauce to seekh kebabs where spot on but boy oh boy she was sure surprised when she had the fish on on tawa she had no idea but it sure juicy and nice and flaky and chicken tandoori was so nice to to nans and chapati and saloon which means curry was sure sexy sexy that kinda feeling iam loving it and to wash it all down we had a mango lassi which she loved and fell in love with that I guess this my go to and wins it lovely women who owns this this joint and hands down she wins it for it me what little hidden gem this place is she has me coming back again and again and again

Had a fantastic meal on Friday night, 13 adults & 3 kids. Staff were fantastic, what a friendly & welcoming restaurant. Food was very tasty & well presented. Service was great.

Absolutely brilliant pub. Love music on most weekends, pool tables in the back, sports on the TV, great.

Gorgeous rolls as always! Cannot fault, I particularly recommend their crispy chilli chicken filling with coleslaw, and bacon and egg roll
